5 comments about How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything: A Workbook.
- I picked up this book by chance years ago and really appreciate all its taught me about myself.
It is useful and insightful. It asks important questions to get you thinking. It is engaging because it comes in a creative format with blank space for you to write, draw, paint or paste. I felt it well worth my money.
- I have been a high school counselor, and am now a college counselor, and I have found this book to be a great resource to draw from when trying to help students with self-acceptance/discovery. The exercises are very thought-provoking and revealing. For anyone willing to take the time to work through them, the reward is a much greater understanding of self, and an improved self-concept.
- This book is a great resource for re-discovery the self and exploring your conditioning. It is loaded with practical exercises that really will help you to make your life better. It can be used as a resource along with counseling or it can stand alone. It is largely based on modern cognitive therapeutic methods that have proven effective and does not push a particular religious orientation although Cheri Huber is a Buddhist and founded a monastery. She is also a woman who has helped many people including herself and certainly has the credibility to put out good material. Very highly recommended for pre-teens, teens and adults. Her other books are very good as well and she has a Self Acceptance audio course that would be a wonderful accompaniment to this book. If you are not working with a counselor, I would recommend getting both to reinforce the ideas and help you to put them into practice. Change is possible, but it isn't always easy!
- This book is nothing but exercises - draw a picture of.... write down how you feel about.... I am sure that this book is a useful one, but quite frankly the odds of me finishing this book are zero. I would prefer to jump out of a plane than seriously complete this tedious book!
- This journal is a fantastic journal for self-reflection. I have learned a great deal about myself from utilizing this book. I have used Sark's and I liked it, however, I feel that this book gives more guidance and directions. I was looking for something to help me get on track spiritual as I had left my religion. This doesn't focus on religion, it helps an individual focus on knowing or getting to know themselves.

5 comments about Questions For My Father: Finding The Man Behind Your Dad.
- Great book for learning about yourself and passing along your feelings, foibles and future wishes to your children. Works well for those that had a great relationship with their own father and want to continue the tradition; works even better for those who weren't close to their own father and want to make the most out of that special relationship with their own children.
- This book asks both hard and easy questions. It gives the reader a chance to get to know the man with the utmost depth. Some of the questions are a little deep, but I encourage the reader to ask them all. Some of the questions may be superficial, but you might get some surprising answers. Good book. Great starting point for getting to know the man behind your dad.
- A wonderful book to learn more about your father and yourself.
It's also a fantastic conversation maker. Don't miss out on this jewel of a book.
- At first glance I thought this was just another "quick-fix" book offering [bad] platitudes about the quest to reveal the mythical father-figure.
I started to leaf through it and three days later I'm still excited and troubled by what "Questions" has revealed to me. The questions are, quite simply, stunning in their originality and form. There's stuff here I wouldn't have thought of asking in a million years. And then there's the narrative that is sprinkled throughout the text; a dark and troubled trans-America motorcycle trip during which the author has an eerie insight into the importance that his father has played in his life. Too late, of course. Staniforth returns to England just in time to watch his Dad die, and so begins the internal intellectual voyage of discovery about his father. Read it, use it, buy it for a father or a child. This book can save families.
- The questions in this book allow the reader to muse on their own relationships with their parents and others close to them, and hopefully to realise how important it is to make time to communicate within families. Buy it to read, think and keep it visible on your bookshelf as a reminder of what is important and that there is always time to talk to those close to you, however busy you think you are.

5 comments about The Mack Within.
- What Is It About?
This is Tariq's follow-up to the art of mackin and does a good job of completing the package. It also talks about male / female dating dynamics and relationships.
What Did I Get Out Of It?
Tariq appears to have made this book to cater to his non African American audience and does a good job of translating the game for all. I got some additional info on non club related game and an expanded list / definition set on the various types of females and males out there in the dating game.
The Good News
Another excellent easy to read book from Mr. Nasheed.
The Bad News
There is relatively little bad news concerning this book. It is a bit short and I leisurely read it over the course of a weekend but, I consider that a good thing. Tariq is short and to the point and doesn't attempt to sugar coat things.
The Bottom Line
This book does a great of rounding out the series and cleans up what The Art of Mackin left out. Get this to complete your lesson in mackin.
- every woman and man should read this book to understand how the game is played. one word to desribe this book is brilliant
- First, I am a woman and I bought this book on February 2007 for a love interest. I don't know... I was looking for a valentine's day present and was looking for something different. So I spotted that book and the cover just cracked me up. The guy's serious face, the title, the pose, the Asian girl... priceless. My boyfriend and I read it and we laughed so much... By the way, we are getting married this summer and he's the most perfect guy ever.
Now, I have to say this: the book is mostly intended for guys who are perfectly content dating weirdoes. The book offers advice on how to spot these women and get whatever they have to offer: cash and sex mostly.
The book is useless to anyone interested in finding a soulmate and starting a serious relationship with someone worthy. It just perpetuates stereotypes and cliches: "money hungry chickenheads, nymphomaniac female players and daddy issues ridden women" and that's what makes the book hilarious. Now, I know there are women like that out there but that's not it. Any guy who goes out in the dating world armed only with the type of cynicism contained in this book will not find happyness as he will only attract the type of women he should stay away from.
That Tariq guy is seriously messed up himself and is pretty much a man-whore who is dating women with issues worse than his.
- this is a great book it tells the value of a man and i belive it should be given in schools to all young men this is a great book please read it this is from a mans outlook and that is great
- i have never had a problem with getting women. however when i was bored at work one day (i work at a library) i picked up this book and read it. this book is simple and straight to the point when it comes to understanding the dynamic of male/female interaction. if your someone who is slipping on your pimping this is definitely for you. or if you dont have a problem and just want a good easy read thats assured to give you a good laugh then pick it up as well

5 comments about Do One Thing Different: Ten Simple Ways to Change Your Life.
- After reading a bunch of novels in a row, I decided it was time for a non-fiction book. I'd had this one sitting on my shelf for a few years and figured I'd give it a try. The title had always appealed to me.
It was easy reading and had quite a few helpful ideas in it. Although the author applies the concept to many areas of life, the title really says it all: If you're experiencing a problem in your life, or if there's something wrong, don't keep doing the same things over and over and expect different results. "Do one thing different" and it will lead to other changes in your life that may or may not take care of the problem. If it does, great. Problem solved. If not, do another thing different and see what happens. Often, our repetitive, unconscious actions are responsible for a great deal of the difficulties in our lives, or so goes the theory.
That's the gist the theory, though its stretched out into a book. I found it somewhat repetitive after a while, though I like the concept and plan to apply it (in fact, already have to some success) whenever I notice some area of my life that could use some fixing up.
As a concept, I give it five stars; as a book, because it is watered down and stretched out in order to justify its price, I can only give it three stars. Still, the title idea is an interesting one...one I think anyone could benefit from at one point or another in their lives.
- very informative and very uplifting. if you have ever been depressed and in theapy before, strongly recommend reading this one over and over again.
- It's a pretty easy read and even if you don't get anything out of it the stories about other people are interesting enough to be entertaining!
- I was able to pick out a thing or two from this book, but nothing that would really be especially helpful for more than a very brief period of time. I can see how this book might be helpful for someone who is simply stuck in a rut, but not necessarily for someone who is dealing with trauma. Depending on the situation of the reader, there are a few 'band-aid' type solutions that could provide a temporary distraction and it might also be helpful for someone who just needs, as the title states, some ideas for a bit of something different.
- Author and therapist Bill O'Hanlon has written a practical and compassionate book on how to get out of your ruts. I don't think that this book holds any threat of putting therapists out of business. His point seems to be that sometimes making small changes in behavior patterns can help unshackle people from dysfunctional behavior patterns.
Your past does not shackle you from making positive changes. Small changes can yield big payoffs.
Though it may turn off some, I also liked O'Hanlon's chapter on tapping into spirituality as a way to get untracked. He does this in a non-dogmatic way.
DOTD is a bit like chicken soup for the psyche - it won't hurt and it may help. Worth a read!!

5 comments about Animal-Wise: The Spirit Language and Signs of Nature.
- I'm glad I snagged a copy of this book. Usually when an author puts out another book on the same topic as before it ends up being flogge past redemption. This one, though, is a good expansion on what Animal-Speak contained. I'm especially happy about the continuation of the animal totem dictionary, primarily because it reminds readers that there are animals beyond North America ;)
I wouldn't really recommend it as a stand-alone book for a beginner because you really do need a lot of the material from Animal-Speak for betetr context, but if you really, really like Andrews' work go ahead and get this. If you're more independent, you can probably pass it up since it's pretty much the second half of a very large book.
- Truley another wonderful book on the subject of animal magic and totems. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in finding out what animal(s) is their totem or just to find out what each animal that comes into their life means amd how it relates to them.
- Another cover that suggests things Native American, another round of clip-art-type illos, another dose of the "New Age" (see my review for Animal-Speak).
This book is interesting in that it lists scores of less-popular, less-cuddly critters: insects, arachnids, arthropods, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. (Where else ya' gonna go if you think you have a Crayfish totem?)
- Ted Andrews has put alot of research & dedication into this resource.
Fantastic info on all animals included & excellent sections on how to incorporate animal wisdom into your life.
An excellent resource for healers & Kinesiologists when balancing or for anyone who loves animals & nature.
Highly recommended buy.
- Good reference book for Spirit Guides and tells you how to build your own Totem. Easy to read and Easy to use.

5 comments about Open Your Mind to Receive.
- I received this book in top condition and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have read other Catherine Ponder books and truly believe in her philosophy.
- A profound book, small and brief compared to her book "Dynamic Laws". this book is more direct and forceful--- in motivating readers towards prosperity. The chapter on tithing is superb--this writer has practised tithing and knows its power. The cost of this book is very small compared to its value to the readers.
- A friend mailed this book to me and at first I thought it lookes boring and not good. I read it becasue my friend bought it. I loved it and bought two more books by the author. I found afirmations to be both healing and to bring peace to me. Some of the affirmations work for me and the releasing affirmations are liberating to me.The ideas are good medicine!
- This is one of Catherine Ponder's great books. I have been teaching from this book for 20 years and my students have all been able to improve their lives in every area from health and wealth to happiness. Just pratice the principles and say the affirmations and your on your way!
- This book is not very big and can easily be read in one sitting. The copyright of my edition is 1983 and there were some parts in this book that struck me as a little dated (can't remember specific examples) however I did find the book useful. I'm not really sold on some of the ideas about prosperity- it almost seems too easy but the prayers for release were wonderful. I have referred back to this book several times and copied down several of the "release" affirmations. I gave this book 5 stars because of the sample affirmations throughout the book which have helped me in many situations. Since purchasing this book I have adapted a more positive attitude and incorporated several affirmations/prayers into my life which I can't say has made me more financially prosperous BUT it certainly has improved some unhealthy relationships and situations in my life. I look forward to reading other titles by this author.

5 comments about Seven Life Lessons of Chaos: Spiritual Wisdom from the Science of Change.
- I absolutely enjoyed this book and found it completely relevant to my life. I have been quoting it since I read it!
- It is precious stone plenty of wisdom that invites you to see the world and the life from an holistic perspective.
I have enjoyed each paragraph bringing each message or concept to my own daily experience.
I strongly recommend it.
- I purchased this book for a class and told all of my friends about it. It is a perfect explanation of the theory. Real world examples - easy to understand. READ IT!
- Chaos theory is fascinating, greatly fascinating, and this is a fascinating book about it. It's just beautiful.
- When life is pulling you in a certain direction, yield a little to the current. You might be amazed at what you find. The key is, it doesn't pay to fight the universe. Absorb the chaos theory as put forth by this book and it can change your life or, at the very least, your way of thinking.

5 comments about Hidden Truth about Cholesterol-Lowering Drugs.
- This Book is as Must for everyone who is fooled by the Drug companies and their Doctors who are controlled by the Big Pharma.
Don't walk to get this Book RUN!!!!!!!
- I purchased this book not knowing much more than about the title. Book arrived in timely manner. Content of book was wonderful and informative. Combined with two other books I purchased of similar material, this book helped me understand the truth regarding statins in a way I certainly had not before.
- I am interessted in both standard and alternative medical treatments. My doctor has prescribed Lipitor for me to control my cholesterol. Shane Ellison is an experienced pharmaceutical chemist who has broken ranks with the "standard march to the drumbeat" group to share his knowlege of helpful alternatives which he feels will work just as well, if not often better, than standard prescription products. In so doing, he feels there is also greater savings and less chance of experiencing dangerous side effects. The reader is then left to weigh the information, share concerns with their health care professional and move forward from there, armed with additional information enabling one to make more confident decisions. Definitely a highly interesting read!
- This is an awesome book on the subject matter and should be read by EVERYONE, including everyone in the medical field and every other field you can think of. It should be required reading for ALL "Big Pharma" sales representatives...It would give them a real "fuzzy" feeling about their JOB....BUY this book and reccomend it to everyone you know, or even think you know... TODAY!!
- Statins are toxic and unsafe at "effective" doses. Once the truth comes out, the pharmaceutical industry will collapse and will likely take us M.D.'s down with them. Can't say we don't have it coming, though.
In practical terms, it is difficult to get the word out. The propaganda on statins is pervasive, and any time you tell a patient the truth, they look at you like you just told them the earth was flat. The other docs in the community may start thinking you're a crackpot as well, and perhaps stop referring patients your way.
Cholesterol is a great moneymaker for primary docs. Periodically, patients come in to get checked, get a prescription for Lipitor, and from then on every 3-6 months will require LFT's to check liver and recheck cholesterol. Between then, the patients will come in to be evaluated for side effects (GERD, memory loss, myalgia, etc). Anyway, good book.

5 comments about Reclaiming Surrendered Ground: Protecting Your Family from Spiritual Attacks.
- Very helpful book. I especially recommend that Pastors read this book so that they can counsel members of their congregation that might be struggling with demonic attacks. As Christians, we are very naive to the wiles and working of the devil. We tend to ignore the fact that we are in a spirtual battle. Until we are knocked down by the enemy, we don't do anything. So we fail to live in the victory Jesus has won for us on the cross. Jim Logan educates on how to reclaim lost ground and how to live in Jesus' victory for us. I think this book will be an eye-opener for many readers. I highly recommended it to every believer!!!!
- If your looking for a very informative book on spiritual warfare, this book should be added to your collection.. The author knows what he is talking about and offers fantastic advice for protecting yourself and your family... Too bad they dont teach this stuff in churches... This is a Christian approach (and frankly the christian approach is the only approach you should be using anyway! Amen!) You'll be glad you got this book.
- Book is very helpful for a beleiver to walk out bondage of growing up in or out of a church enviroment. Gives the tools for being free of stolen areas for character strength.
- This book is the most informative of its type out there. Spiritual warfare is a reality that we all have to face in our lives whether Christian or not. This book shows us how to do that. Families are attacked every single day,one member at a time, dragging the whole family into this battle. We owe it to the ones we love to learn as much as possible about this fact of life. There are plenty of stories between the covers of this book to explain how others have conquered Satan. He only has power if we give it to him!
- Outstanding reading and will clear up any questions about spiritual attacks. Will show you step by step battle plans to reclaim lost ground. For me this was a real page turner.

5 comments about The Monogamy Myth: A Personal Handbook for Recovering from Affairs, Third Edition.
- This book was terrible...It made me so angry I actually threw it away.
Basic premise seems to be that a cheating spouse is not to blame for their
behavior. It provides all sorts of 'society made him do it' nonsense. I was looking for a book that would help me to heal and somehow rebuild my marriage with my husband after discovering his long term affair with my best friend. I suppose different people may find it helpful but I found it to be completely worthless in that regard.
- I found out about my husband's affair in the spring of 2006. I was devastated and desparately wanted to understand how and why this happened, expecially since he did not immediately end the affair after I found out about it. So I bought and read over 30 books on the subject, and the Monogamy Myth was one of these books. No books were bad, but some were definately better than others.
I felt this book was one of the better books I read. Probably because Peggy knew from first hand experience how devastating affairs are given her husband's mulitple affairs. At first I was put off by the title, as I thought it implied that the possiblity of a monogomous relationship as a whole was a myth, but after reading some of the excerpts from the book, that is not what it means at all. Instead, Peggy has done a wonderful job in explaining that although most people enter marriage ASSUMING it will be and stay a monogomous relationship, that won't be the case unless you take steps and work on making sure it stays monogomous. The myth is that monogomy "just happens" and is the "norm"...but the truth is affairs just happen...and given recent statistics, affairs are becoming so prevalent that they may soon be the norm.
Peggy explains how outside forces including the media, work environments, and our crazy and hectic lifestyles are actually forces that can easily draw someone into having an affair. I'd never considered how the media encourages affairs, but look at some of the top rated shows or the reality shows on TV these days. They show only the sexy, glamorous side of affairs, not the devastation they cause to everyone involved. I use to watch "Desparate Housewives", now I won't allow it on in my house. The workplace is a cesspool of affairs (my husband's affair was with a coworker). Men and women spend hours at the office working together on projects with a common goal. This forms a bond between them and unless the relationships at home are just as close, they may soon feel they have more in common with the coworker than the spouse...thus the affair begins. I've come to learn that I became so wrapped up in my children's lives and activities (running all the time) that my husband only got the "left-overs". I was always too tired to give him the attention he wanted and needed. While his coworker showered him with praises and compliments. She was meeting his needs and I was neglecting him. But don't get me wrong, there were other choices he could have made and I do not accept any blame for his choice to have an affair, only for not meeting his needs. And he has had to accept that he did not meet my needs either. We were both guilty in not making our marriage a priority. Peggy's book opened our eyes to that, now it is our greatest priority.
Peggy's book helped me to recognize all these and other outside influences. It also provided perspective on what can be done to keep these inluences at bay and "protect" your marriage. My husband finally realized his relationship with the other woman was not real, but "affairyland". He came home and recommitted himself to the marriage. He is now working very hard to help me heal from all the pain and hurt he inflicted on me with his selfishness. He's also doing everything he can to restore my trust. It's only been 6 months, and we have good days and bad days, but at least, with the help of Peggy's book and some of the other books we've read (yes, he's read it too) we are making sure that monogomy is never a myth in our marriage again!
Thank you, Peggy for this book, your web site, starting the BAN support group (I'm a member) and everything you and your husband have done to help people who have been devastated by affairs!
- It has been nearly three years since my partner's affair, and it is only after the full process of healing, and all the stages and setbacks that go along with it, that I choose to write an outstanding review. Not only was this book helpful, but all of Peggy Vaughn's online resources are helpful as well. Every situation is different, and every person is different. Some betrayed partners may be incapable of letting go of the anger and bitterness. And some betrayers do not deserve or earn another chance. If you are in a position where this terrible, but sadly common, tragedy has touched your relationship, but you wish to rebuild trust and you and your partner are both ready and willing to work - this book and others with a similar approach and content WILL help you get there! It's not easy, it's not quick, but for us it has worked and been worthwhile. I am not being trite or naive when I say, quite honestly, that our relationship is stronger than ever. Our marriage was only a couple years old when this happened, but now I have high hopes for our future.
- Excellent book on Affairs. This book is very balanced and
presents all the reasons people get involved in affairs. I found this book to be very healing and helpful.
- This book does a good job of explaining how an affair can happen in any marriage. However, at times it seems as if she is offering excuses for the unfaithful partner. Not okay with me, at all. If you can get past that, there is some good advice here and, if read in conjuction with some other books on the subject, can improve your insight on how and why affairs happen.
