2 comments about Solving the Riddle of Self: The Search for Self-Discovery.
- This book is a wonderful way to determine why we behave the way we do. It explains why our childhood molds our adult behavior and how we can change our attitude as a result of realizing who we are and how we got there.
- John Powell explains in a simple way reasons why we behave the way we behave.
He has several excellent and well-explained real life examples of how real people have been shaped to further simplify his excellent points. These examples remind me of how Dale Carnegie wrote about people in different situation and how that affected them. The book is also filled with useful hints (gems) one can use in real life. After reading this book I got a new way to look at criticism making it possible to use twice as much feedback! Who do you think will tell you of your most important weakness? The one who loves you or the one who does not like you? Does it hurt to listen to the person that does not like you if he has the most valued point? John Powell explains how to take care of criticism much better than I do. Welcome to enlightening reading you will not regret you have laid your eyes on!

5 comments about Charisma : Seven Keys to Developing the Magnetism That Leads to Success.
- Over the years, I have read countless books and articles, listened to tapes, and watched videos to learn the secrets to success. I've sat through seminars, workshops, speeches, and classes hoping to pick up one more little gem of an idea to improve my effectiveness.
In Charisma, Tony Alessandra has pulled all of that knowledge together in one place. After many years in business, and a whole lot of learning about how to be successful in sales, management, and life, I recognized quite a bit of the contents of this volume. I really enjoyed the refresher and reinforcement . . . and I picked up some new advice that I'd missed along the way. The book starts, appropriately with an introduction to Charisma: "the ability to positively influence others by connecting with them physically, emotionally, and intellectually." From the introductory chapters, Alessandra takes us on a journey through seven fully-loaded chapters spilling over with the secrets of how to fashion and hone that influencing ability. To enable you to see the framework of this tool kit, I'll list the chapters. Sending Out Your Best Silent Message, Speaking with Authority, Listening Attentively, Becoming More Persuasive, Using Space and Time to Your Advantage, Maximizing Your Adaptability, and Expanding Your Vision and Ideas. As a reader, you'll find yourself asking your author-mentor how he learned all this stuff! Wow! Your respect and admiration will grow, followed by appreciation as you put the many principles to work and start seeing results. This book should be required reading for every salesperson, every high school senior, every young person starting out on a career. People who have been around for a while, but who have not yet achieved the success they desire, will also benefit greatly from this guidebook. The continual flow of advice and wisdom is interrupted by a self-test in every chapter. You'll be able to see yourself grow page by page. Hint to make this a better world: Parents, buy this book for your kids. PS: Alessandra is also author of The Platinum Rule. Read that one next!
- There is a lot of information packed within these pages. More in fact than I could get from one reading. I found this book to be better than any I've read yet on the subject... yet, it still seems that there is an elusive, magical aspect of charisma that each author seems to miss. This may just be my personal viewpoint. Who knows, maybe I need to find the magical gem, insert it into the puzzle, and write the book myself. I have listened to tapes; watched videos; and read books by Tony Alessandra, and this guy rocks. Read this book by all means and add to your own charisma.
- You don't need to born with charisma. You can learn it, but you must read this book.
- This book has nothing to do with charisma and everything to do with selling and management. If you want to learn how to sell cars or inspire your secretary, go ahead and get this book. If you want to sway crowds with your powerful words, look elsewhere. And no, I haven't found the book that teaches that yet.
- This book halps put things in perspective when you wonder what wonderful things people see in you that you can't see for yourself. I have ben enlightened and can see the charisma that resides in myself and the opthers that I am surrounded by. This is a great book for those of youwho want to improve you and be the best you , you can possibly be!!

5 comments about Soul Prints: Your Path to Fulfillment.
- Marc Gafni's Soul Prints is a postitive book, however its basically just pop psychology mixed with Kabalistic overtones to give the pop psych a different flavor. There are alot of people out there that mix pop psychology with cultural overtones selling books and making a living lecturing, i dont think ther is anything wrong with it. However its kind of like going to the super market and seeing 30 different brands of detergent; they all basically do the same thing. Basically what i'm saying is if you already read a self help book then dont waste your time with this one.
- Rabbi Gafni is a brilliant if problematic teacher of traditional Jewish texts. In this work he wants to help his readers escape their loneliness and difficulties in life through finding their own ' soul-print' their own spiritual I.D. In self- help book fashion he preaches that the way to one's true self is the way to a meaningful life. Unfortunately Rabbi Gafni does this while ignoring the more traditional Jewish view that the deepest way to find oneself is through giving to others in one's own family and community, to worshipping not oneself but God. Yet Rabbi Gafni reads Midrashim with startling insight , and it seems to me that there is great benefit in reading this book if only in that it shows the readers(who probably have small knowledge of traditional Jewish texts including Midrashim) how deep and powerful the Jewish tradition is.
- This book arrived and it was in perfect condition. I surely could not tell it was used. It looked brand new. I would order again and again like this. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and the timeliness of it's arrival!
- Although no of the Jewish faith, I thoroughly enjoyed discovering myself through these stories of biblical and folk myths. The "Soul Print Practice" exercises were also illuminating. Much more than a "self help" book and students of Kabbalah will probably be particularly drawn to it.
- Nothing will prepare you for the level of search, the journey and the discoveries you will make, guided by Mark Gafni. It is mystical without being partial. Be prepared t source the real you.
Four stars: The fifth star of this book is you.

4 comments about Cracking the Coconut Code.
- I can't think of one person who wouldn't benefit from reading this book. Mrs. McCabe's clear presentation of the 7 insights to transform your life is a valuable lesson for anyone wishing to enrich his/her own time on earth. Her message is straight-forward and the exercises/interpretations are great self-awareness activities. This is a quick read PACKED with great information that you can personalize! Highly Recommend...
- MaryJo McCabe's book is a fantastic quick read with a whole lot of "AHA" moments. It will keep you thinking long after you finish it and it will lure you back for more.
This book is a necessary tool (handbook) for anyone's journey in transforming their life into it's fullest potential. She has presented basic "insights" in easy to understand language and simple practices that everyone will benefit.
I really love the beautiful messages from "The Guides" at the beginning of each chapter and throughout the book. I have reread these messages over and over for both inspiration and direction.
MaryJo McCabe's personal stories about her own journey are funny as well as educational. These examples aid in our own understanding of the practical application of these insights in our own lives. She explains how she used these same insights and how they have affected her own ability to crack the coconut shell in her life.
This book contains intuitive information and fun exercises that will open your own soul to true transformation. Many books have tedious time consuming exercises that may have a benefit in the end, but are often skipped because of the time needed. MaryJo's exercises can be done instantly and the instant results and revelations into your own soul will delight and amaze you.
I have read MaryJo McCabe's other books and this is my favorite thus far!! I recommend this book to anyone wanting positive change in their life.
- CRACKING THE COCONUT CODE By Mary Jo McCabe is a tiny book with an enormous wealth of insights and wisdom for seekers who wish to know themselves and overcome their fear of becoming whole. With her clever code, which she says was given to her by The Guides when in trance, she uses the letters of the word "coconut" to help the reader remember her seven points to wholeness and self discovery. When these teachings are implemented through the exercizes she gives we can face our fears and shortcomings and be integrated with our soul, which takes away all the fear of living. The book is easy to "digest" and very helpful to put into practice, even if you are not open-minded enough to accept her source of information. She helps people "live what you believe and trust yourself. If you concentrate on doing that, life works for, not against, you."Mary Jo is a well-known intuitive interpreter who channels advice from The Guides. She is owner of the McCabe Institute where thousands have received life readings and guidance to hearing their soul's inner voice.
- I met Mary Jo when she did a seminar with John Edward. I was the one of the last people to get her to sign this book. She wrote an inscription in everyone's and what she wrote in mine was right on the money - I was stunned. This book is an easy 80 pages to read. The exercises that she provides in each chapter are great and thought provoking. I actually found myself eagerly awaiting the next chapter with the next exercise. Highly recommend this book and it is one that you will continue to return to as well as she points out in her book. Great lady and great writer.

3 comments about WILL THE REAL WOMEN ... PLEASE STAND UP!: Uncommon Sense About Self-Esteem, Self-Discovery, Sex, and Sensuality.
- I feel this book should be every women's self-esteem Bible. I read it over and over just for some refreshening.
- I read the hard cover about 3 years ago, so after reading it I gave it to my wife. Boy what a change it has made in my life and my wife's life. We have learned to communicate instaed of shout at one another. I've tried to be more passionate and loving with my wife since I've red this book. It has opened my eyes to how valuable communication is in a loving relationship. Until I read this bnook I always just let things in my relationship work themselves out. I now know that many of my problems could have been avoided if I had only communictaed in an open, honest and loving way. Thanks to Ella Patterson and her will to write a book like this, I am now a happier man, husband and father. I recommend this book to all couples. It's not just a book for women it's for men too. I don't know Ella personally, but If she ever reads this review I just want to say Thanks to her for helping to save my marriage. I am a better man because of her.
- This book is the BOMB! I was introduced to this book 1997 and I have purchase at least 10 copies. Why 10 copies, you ask, because everytime I show my book to someone they take it. So, I have learned my lesson to direct ladies and gentlemens to purchase their own copy. I have the hardback and paperback but the paperback is missing so vital information. Buy hardback with all the information you need. I think every women should be given this book at the age of 18 to help them on the road to becoming a "Real Woman".

2 comments about My Mother, My Friend : The Ten Most Important Things To Talk About With Your Mother.
- My Mother, My Friend is a heart-felt book about all of the important things we need to talk to our Mother about. Mary provides lots of research & information to back her reasoning of each of the ten conversations we must have with our Mother. This book needs to be in everyone's book collection. I am deeply inspired & touched by Mary's suggestions! I'm looking forward to having these conversations with my Mother! My Mother, My Friend is written with love. I appreciate my Mother even more from reading this book!
- Things we know, but forget to do, brought to our attention in such a heartwarming way. Beautifully written and deeply meaningful. You'll love this book. Another book you must read is, "Elder Rage", as it is really wonderful too, and it also helped me cope better, and love better, my very difficult mother.

3 comments about Empowering Women: Every Woman's Guide to Successful Living.
- This is a quick easy read, but very motivational. She has some great quotes geared towards promoting women's self esteem and in the back of the book gives reference to other books that she recommends. A book worth reading.
- Louise Hay is starting to sound her age here - while there's some useful and motivating thoughts and information, such as the chapter on Choosing Positive Thoughts and Beliefs, and the chapter on Good Health, overall the tone is kind of "ancient". How many American women under 55 struggle with the self-esteem issues highlighted in this book? Not many, I'd wager! No one of my generation (Baby Boomer) has any trouble determining their self-worth REGARDLESS of their relationship with a man!? For my money, this book isn't up to Louise's usual par and comes off as almost patronizingly dull at points.
- In Empowering Women, Louise Hay highlights attitudes which women and girls have been socially conditioned to have, but which can interfere with our ability to love, honor and respect ourselves. She also teaches us how to break free of these attitudes. I especially love her Eleven Commandments For Women given in this book. I have these 'commandments' hanging on my wall and just by following them I have made great strides in positively changing my life. I'm grateful for this book and I highly recommend it to every woman. Peace and love!

- I am a bit of an aggressive person and was hurt on certain compelling occasions. I heared my friends say you need to be assertive and not aggressive but couldn't find the right help anywhere. I bought these cassettes with that expectation and would say Cal Lemon has far exceeded the expectation. The beauty of the content is in his examples and presentation which I am sure everyone would have come thru such situvations to handle and now you have your help at hand.
