5 comments about Self-Esteem + Self-Image Programming (Super Strength).
- I loooove my super strenght self esteem cd, it has worked incredibly well for me and did not have to do the whole 30 days to start feeling stronger, more assertive and definitelly i am now taking charge of my life (at 32 years old). I have recommended it to others I know. I'm feeling great and getting better!!!
HONEST TO GOD!!!
- I have had this as a tape for 2 years, and listened to it on and off. When I listen to it frequently, I am so much more positive and self-confident. Sometimes I will find myself being negative and realize that I haven't listened to the tape in a while. It really does work!
- This is a wonderful CD. It not only relaxes you, it helps you become aware of the wonderful gift you are to yourself and others. Everyone should buy this CD and use it for 21 days. After the 21 days you will notice how much kinder you have become towards yourself and those around you. It is a great investment.
- This is a pretty decent affirmation CD. It combines guided relaxation and affirmations. I listened to it falling asleep. It's nice to go to sleep with something soothing and positive and reminding myself to be kind to our inner child.
- This CD has helped me relax a bit and not worry so much about what people think of me. It has helped me to see my self worth and appreciate who I am.

5 comments about Stand Up for Your Life: A Practical Step-by-Step Plan to Build Inner Confidence and Personal Power.
- If you want to run your own life - and who doesn't? - Cheryl Richardson will tell you how. The first step in her program is getting a clear sense of who you are and what you want. Then, tap into your inner power to develop the courage and confidence to move ahead. Richardson's examples from her personal life and from her clients' stories add lively human interest, and her comprehensive step-by-step program might intrigue many readers, particularly those who have just started reading self-help literature. Otherwise, this is a repeat of a frequently taught lesson about how to decide what you want and take steps to get it. Her exercises can help you clarify your goals as well as find and destroy any emotional barriers standing in your way. We recommend this book to readers, particularly women, who haven't already been down this path and absorbed this message; you will find that Richardson is an encouraging cheerleader.
- This book gives a lot of insight on building a better you. It gives a lot of information that you can relate to and then gives you the tips, exercises, and tools you will need to live a more positive life. If you read this book and follow along with the exercises and techniques the author gives, you will start to notice a difference in your attitude fairly quickly. I reccomend this book to anyone who wants to get a start on building self-confidence and a positive attitude change.
- Although the subtitle reads: "Develop the Courage, Confidence and Character to Fulfill Your Greatest Potential," the book is not necessarily designed for confidence seekers who struggle with anxiety and fear.
However, reading and participating in the exercises of this book can be a great way to experience life coaching.
If you are hungry for deeper meaning and abundance in your life, you will find the coaching questions helpful for clarifying what you really stand for and what you want in your life. The questions can connect you with the dormant inspiration awaiting you beneath an everyday layer of doldrums and demands. Using this book can nurture a weary soul and might be a gateway to the inspiration you seek.
However, if you are seeking tools to overcome a strong resistance and fear of moving out of your comfort zone, you may not find what you need here. In order for the exercises to be really effective for confidence building, it is better if the reader already has a healthy edge over internal anxiety, fear and resistance.
Either way, if you do the exercises, they will experience results that have at least a subtle effect in your experience of the life and beauty around you.
- I found this book to be a great read. Anything that will make you stretch to raise your own expectations of yourself or help yourself is always worth the money.
- This book came to me at a time when I was discovering ways to overcome depression. It helped me to realize that one of the causes of my depression was that I had ignored and repressed my own needs in order to take care of everyone else. Eventually, if you take care of everyone except yourself, you will run out of things to give. It's like overdrawing your bank account. You can't keep writing checks without replenishing the supply. Cheryl Richardson will always be a hero in my eyes for sharing information that helped me in creating a life I love living.

5 comments about The Portable Therapist: Wise and Inspiring Answers to the Questions People in Therapy Ask the Most....
- Author's language is so clear and understandable. She makes things so simple.
She takes the most important questions and gives the answers without making complicated.
I got a lot more help from this book than I got from my therapist I have seen for 1,5 years.
This book has changed my life.
Although I red it twice already I still read it.
Everyone can learn something from this book.
Thanks to Susanna McMahon for writting such a book.
- This book has the possibility to change your life in a very dramatic and positive manner. It is simple, concise and to the point. The author is well qualified and speaks to your very soul if you allow her. It may be a good idea to make an investment in this book.
- I finally decided to buy this book after receiving many copied pages from my therapist. The small chapters are light reads and they have helped me in more ways than I can count.
A wonderful little book.
- It's a great, wise, simple, highly readable book.
Still, I cannot give it 5 stars because I found it at times a little simplistic -- probably a function of the book's restricitve format that keeps each chapter very short, and therefore generic and thus a little shallow. It's good reading for people who don't have time for big volumes and intellectually challenging explantions -- but at a price.
Things in life are often more ccomplicated than this book suggests. However, the priamry principle that it promotes (the crucial and necessary need for Self-Esteem that's not based on external factors) is very true. Kudos to the author for making it so clear. Any effort aiming to expose and undo the harm of most people's upbringing -- which overemphasizes high achievement and competitivenss while neglecting spiritual development -- is a valuable contribution to our culture.
I appreciated the author's effort to avoid references to God (she allows atheistic readers to replace the concept of God with the notion of Goodness) -- but then, alas, she forgot that rule in the last chapter. That last chapter was also rather disappointing in content, the weakest of all -- just a pep talk with no concrete advice.
Throughtout the book, the author ascribes the often harmful "Model of Doing" to the Western culture, and the more benficial "Model of Being" to the East -- but that is a simplification too. Anyone familiar with high-driving, competitive, and sometimes cruel Asian societies knows that the East is in the grips of the "Model of Doing" just as we are in the West. (One can also think of some western saints, like St.Francis, who were very much into a "Model of Being".)
Also, I am concerend that the author's often repeated advice to "take care of yourself first" will be interpreted by many people as a permission to be selfish and self-centerted. She certainly understands the difference (and attempts to explain it at one point) -- but in her apparent effort not to undermine any reader's Self-Esteem, she stops short of telling her readers that having no compassion for others, and never giving of yourself is not a way to live. She just says "accept yourslef as you are". Then why change for the better?
This book will be of only marginal value to people who are well read in psychology, but it will be very useful and eye-opening to an average person trying to come to terms with the pain of living. It's like Psychology 101 -- a basic course for everyone, but it doesn't have enough depth to satisfy those who need to probe for deeper reasons and solutions. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it as a first step towards mastering "the art of living".
- Very useful as a Therapist and written in terms anyone can relate to.

5 comments about Fine Romance.
- This book has almost everything for those (i.e., all of us from time to time) who run amok in the uncertainty and anxiety of romance. Some who write on this subject merely employ sweeping generalizations which they beat into the ground throughout their book. Dr. Sills is a great writer who analyzes the complex world of romance. She makes it easy to understand how our drives and emotions can rush us into poor decisions. She fails to touch on one subject that many people find important in romance--spirituality. "Fine Romance..." is nonetheless the pre-eminent book on the subject.
- This relationship book is the best out there! I haven't read lots of relationship books, but I don't have to in order to know that I'm right. Woman or man, this book helps explain why we chose the partners we chose, why we expect the wrong things, why we expect the right things at the wrong times, what we do to push people away, and how to change so that our relationships work.
Dr. Sills' assessment of relationships and their phases are right on target, and her writing style is pure perfection--a mixture of get-on-to-yourself common sense and you're-not-alone reassurance. Her insights are uncanny. It's like she was in the living room, bedroom, car, bar, restaurant, etc. with you when either you or your partner said or did whatever you are now agonizing about. If you're a woman, Dr. Sills knows what you said when you stalked him after he didn't call. She knows why your cute voicemail message was a turn-off. If you're a man, Dr. Sills knows you snapped at her when she kept interrupting your football game to have a heart-to-heart talk. She knows why your girlfriends seem to become demanding and possessive just as you are losing interest in winning them. She not only pinpoints what you are feeling in each stage of a relationship, but also helps you understand what your partner is feeling.
I read this book when I started dating my first boyfriend. The relationship lasted for nine months. Although, things did not work out for us, the book helped me through Selection and Pursuit, including a phase called "The Switch," where the pursuer backs off and the pursued panics. My ex married his next girlfriend and credits me with helping him to build important relationship skills. Trust me, it was this book. Again with the book under my arm, I started dating my second boyfriend. I married him almost six years ago. I had the opportunity to thus apply the deeper relationship chapters in the second half of the book, which are also right on target. A friend of mine is almost 50, has never been married, and wondered why all his relationships fail. After he started a new relationship, I lent him my copy of this book. He is now two years into the relationship and engaged.
Don't start a new relationship without this book, particularly if you are a woman! When you get an urge to cry, overanalyze something he's said, or call him so you can feel closer, read the book instead of conveying a needy and demanding image that is not the real you. Once you are further along in your relationship and sure that you have one (Dr. Sills defines it), share the book and its tips with your partner, too. Regardless of your sex, age, or previous marital status, this book feels like it was written for you and about you. At each stage of your relationship, there will be hurdles. It answers the question, "Why?"--most helpful since your partner can't or won't answer this question for you. Better still, the book helps you change your own way of thinking so that the relationship mistakes aren't perpetuated by your own behavior and so that you can help your partner come to terms with his or her own fears of commitment and closeness. Buy several copies! Make it your ritual to read it, mark it up, then throw it out if you break up. You'll feel a sense of renewal when you initiate a new copy. You may even find one or two copies are all you need;) Happy reading and good luck!
- I just recently ended a seven year marriage. Having gotten married in my twenties, I have limited dating experience. At the age of 30, I am having to learn this all over again and a friend gave me this book to help me out. This was probably the best gift I could have gotten at this time in my life. I highly recommend this book.
- I'm not big on the self-help book category and this is probably one of the only ones I've actually read. Well, it was worth it. It is insightful, clearly written with no "psycho-babble" and is the best relationship advice I've ever received. A friend recommended the book to me during a break-up - a friend who read it and has been happily married for the last 10 years. Thanks to this little book, I didn't fall apart during the break-up, had some amazing revelations in understanding my partner AND myself, and ended up getting back together with the person. I'm now happily married myself to that same person and I believe it was in great part thanks to the advice in this book that I was able to make it through relationship hurdles that both my partner and I created. It not only helps you better understand the person with whom you are having the relationship, but yourself as well. Everyone in a relationship, out of a relationship, or wanting a relationship should read this book.
- I read it, enjoyed it, learned and got ready to get out of a destructive relationship and go in search of the love of my life. I found the love of my life four months later. This book I have recommended to my female friends. Read it carefully, mark it, highlight it, write notes about your thoughts, let the book provoke insight.

2 comments about Maximize Your Potential Through the Power of Your Subconscious Mind to Develop Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem: Book 3 (Maximize Your Potential).
- Dr. Murphy understood a great deal for his time, and now science is proving he was pretty much on track. This is no attack on God, but it does stretch those literal translations that many religions would have you believe. Don't be fearful, just open your mind to what God has given you, and use it. Science, by the way, is proving every day that there really is a God, but you can't put him in a neat little box as most would have you believe. Take this information and absolutely change your life for the better!
- What can I say, it is a self-help book. I just didn't get into it. I either start one and can't put it down or just put it down pretty much forever. It may have something to offer others, just isn't my favorite. Always worth a try to learn more about self, so buy if it looks like something you could use!

5 comments about How to Get Everything You Ever Wanted: Complete Guide to Using Your Psychic Common Sense.
- After reading this book, I asked myself why I should ever read any other book to help me realize my dreams. This book should be called 'The A-Z Guide To Manifesting Your Dreams In Any Area of Life' It has it all - It's super-charged! And once again, THANKS to the author, Dr. Adrian Calabrese.
- I have ready many books on manifesting the desires and this one was little out of Focus as I am not sure why Author wanted to make this book as 250 page book where she could have reduced it to 50 pages , giving exact steps 'What need to be done' instead of giving whole theory of 'Metaphysics'.
I was little surprised to read , author mentioning about Altar and Rituals, which I never felt a part of metaphysics or in achieving your dreams.
She often mentions about 'Jeep Cherokee' which I thought , was useless as she gets because of Dealers Favour and Her Mom's Love, nothing spectacular about this. This is Total Coincidence !.
I am not facscinated by writing style as she 'keeps on and keeps on.' and reader may get confused 'What I really Need to do ?' thoughts.
There are better books in the market and this is one 'Sure to Avoid as it will confuse the heck out of you'. Examples are of Pure coincidence and nothing of Pure Metaphyical here and author stretches this book to 250+ pages.
Authour could have made this book better by telling 'What need to be done' and 'What happens when you do this ' as there are lot more books on this stuff everywhere but it seems that she missed the Whole Point...
Read 'Mind Magic' by marta instead. Avoid this book.
Jay
- Soon after reading this book, I tried some of the techniques. I wanted to move to Florida so I set up my altar. Soon after, I had the money, a home that met my requirements, and a job offer in Florida! I moved 4 months later!
- I watched the "Secret" and read other books about how to get what you want by thinking positive. This one beats them all and goes further in depth on "How to get everything you ever wanted". I tried the scripture written and found that it somehow got things that I focused on and wish for. Not all my dreams came through yet, but so far so good. I would recommend this book to anyone who is serious and not a skeptic when trying the methods written. You have to be a believer for it to work or else negative thoughts will get you negative results.
- This is a good book. I have already read a lot of books on the same or similar subject, so I can say that this book is one of the better. When I want to buy a book I must read an extract in order to see the writing style. If the writing style doesn't suit me, I don't buy the book.
Many good messages can be read here. For example, "Don't ever lose hope. Live in preparation for what you have requested. The force in Spirit are working for you as long as you expect success. Wait, be positive, keep believing, and all will surely be yours". Or, "There are no coincidences. The Universe is not random. It is planned and systematic. We get what we want, situations arise, and people come into our lives responding to the plan of energy we set forth." Good words which can make you think and be more positive.

3 comments about On the Meaning of Life.
- Durant asked prominent people of his time "What is the meaning of life" The answers he received are in this tiny paperback. Anything Will and Ariel wrote are worth your time, and H.L. Mencken's reply is absolutely worth the pittance spent for this book.
- ON STRIKE UNTIL AMAZON STOPS DELETING FAVORABLE VOTES FROM FANS AND COUNTING NEGATIVE VOTES FROM THOSE WHO HATE THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE BOOK BEING REVIEWED MORE THAN THEY CARE ABOUT THE REVIEW.
I was utterly THRILLED to see this book by Will Durant, published in 2005, pop up out of Amazon's recommendation system. Now I'm hooked.
I am halfway through it and picking out the single sentence from each of the great minds that responded to Durant's letter asking them the question.
In the interim, please allow me to recommend:
The Lessons of History
The Landscape of History: How Historians Map the Past
Integral Consciousness and the Future of Evolution
How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas, Updated Edition
The leadership of civilization building: Administrative and civilization theory, symbolic dialogue, and citizen skills for the 21st century
Consilience: The Unity of Knowledge
The Future of Life
DVD: What the Bleep Do We Know!?
- On the meaning of life W. Durant
The upshot of this effort is that really famous people were too busy to think deeply about Durant's assignment. Nor are the driven insightful about the roots of their own frenetic behavior. These difficulties were expected and the outcome predictable. Nonethless, it is an interesting collection of disparate reactions.

5 comments about Stop Getting Dumped! All You Need to Know to Make Men Fall Madly in Love with You and Marry "The One" in 3 Years or Less.
- This book is not what it says it is, and is a waste of time for any intelligent girl, or any one at all really. It basically tells you how to be dishonest and shallow and that is how to get what you want. Not much different from most any other book in this genre, so I would stick with a Vogue style relationship quiz and probably get more out of it than you would out of this book. Or honestly just be yourself and you'll have more luck than any advice you could get here.
- The good part about this book is that the author really encourages woman to treat themselves better. It is true that once you are comfortable and happy with yourself, it will show through for others to see, thus resulting in more positive attention from the male gender. I can honestly say Thank You to Lisa because it made me realize that I don't have to settle for less in a man than I want.
- I also highly recommend - How to be a Super Hot Woman: 339 Tips to Make Every Man Fall in Love with You and Every Woman Envy You by Mandy Simons
- For information on true love, which is the donation of self to another please check out either John Paul II's "Theology of the Body" or "Love and Responsibility" or Christopher West's shorter versions "Theology of the Body for Beginners"
Thanks and God bless and you all are in my prayers,
- Even if you've never been dumped before in your life, you should read the book. It's an instant pick-me-up and views relationships in a different perspective. It's a very funny and light and emphasizes the important role women, ahem, pardon me, "dreamgirls" really have.

3 comments about The Millionaires of Genesis: Their Prosperity Secrets for You! (The Millionaires of the Bible Series).
- This book is a must have for anyone who wants to use affirmations to create positive changes in their everyday life. Ponder explains her ideas clearly and gives plenty of examples of affirmations for everything from finding a job to solving problems and achieving career goals. I highly recommend it. It's awsome and then some!
- As a long-time student of the Old Testament with a particular love for the Book of Genesis, I was fascinated by some of the insights the author offered.
I some cases, however, I feel that the author took liberties in interpretation of the facts. Particularly noted were her interpretations of the names of places. It seemed like she wanted to mold the facts to fit her point of view.
Still, the book was well worth the price and time to read. I'm reading it a second time.
- I'm not totally through the book but it's a great, teaching book about values and how to be rich, not necessarily monetarily! Forgiveness, tithing, sacrificing, faith and hope are mantras for someone that is searching to be a Millionaire. It's been an asset to my reading collection.
