  1. This is an updated version on an old classic. There are nine CD's in this set.I have still not gotten all the way through them. You will definately "get it" by the end.Shipping was fast and product was in good shape.

  2. I am in my mid 60's and have found this book and CD set a great help in helping me use my mind power. I wish I had know about it earlier in my life. I'm sharing it with my family and friends.

  3. Very good information in this audio set. I bought a couple copies and gave it to friends. I can't talk highly enough about it.

  4. This is great product for self improvement in any areas of your life. You can improve your speech, your relationship, make more money, start your business or at least start to live happier life! The price is absolutely no issue compare to what you will get. I did know a lot on this subject. Psycho-cybernetics helped me put all the scattered pieces together and even more. I started to smile more and now I wake up with a smile each and every day.
This will not solve your problems in a day or pay your bills but it will show you the way which can lead you to just that. And if you add believing in God you are all set. At the end you will understand that faith is actually the ultimate answer to everything.

  5. Not helpful; too much gap gap, no real "meat"or advice, always telling you how they will in the next chapter help you to do something, and of course the next chapter never comes. Waste of time, waste of money, yoga (for free, on one's own), self concentration, organization, etc. etc. etc., work better than the book. Somebody decided to make money off a book that was published over 50 years ago by putting it on audio and well... they certainly got my money and I got nothing out of it.

5 comments about The Purpose of Your Life: Finding Your Place In The World Using Synchronicity, Intuition, And Uncommon Sense.
  1. I found this a very helpful book filled with ideas for people to find their purpose. I am a career guidance councelor and ninety percent of my clients do not have a purpose for why they are doing what they are doing in their work. They come to me saying "somethings missing in my work or life". It's often because they do not have a purpose which this book can help them create. Purpose is something we create or decide on. Many people think it's something mystical and we discover it by accident. This book gives people specific tools to help identify a meaningful purpose.

  2. Reading this book is a must because it will help you to find your purpose and choose the right career to fulfill your purpose. If you want a fulfilling career, read this book.

  3. Carol Adrienne has written an excellent primer on the subject of Purpose. Whether you are a writer or speaker on the subject of Purpose, this book provides some important guidelines to simplifying an otherwise complex subject. The insights and the 'Talking to Yourself'sections at the end of each chapter are especially helpful.

  4. Moved a little slow. Was looking to wrap it up just a tad quicker. Some the guides really help define the purpose.

  5. I couldn't even finish reading this book. I read the back of it and some reviews and got really excited to read it. When I got it though I read about half way through and then quit. It just couldn't keep my attention, I didn't see enough value in it for the size that it was, maybe if it was condensed down to around 60 pages without all the needless stories.

5 comments about A Boy and a Turtle: A Children's Relaxation Story to improve sleep, manage stress, anxiety, anger (Indigo Dreams).
  1. The book has poor drawing quality and pictures. My 5 year son did not like this book at all because of pictures and was always visualizing the same when we played the CD. He doesn't want to hear the CD or see the book anymore.

  2. This is a wonderful story to teach my ADHD daughter simple breathing exercises and visualization relaxation techniques in a simple and straight forward manner. She loves listening to this story every night before going to sleep.

  3. What a beautiful book! This is so very child friendly. It teaches in such a bright, colorful way HOW to relax your body. Both my children love to follow along relaxing each part of their bodies as they prepare to relax for bed. As a pediatric occupational therapist I have also used this book and its wonderful methods to teach relaxation to some of my clients and their families. GREAT! Kelly Giaquinto

  4. I bought this book based upon my 7 year old son having a lot of anxiety issues with school related issues. I read this book to him the first night, and I have not been able to put it down since. EVERY night around bedtime he asks me to read him his relaxation book. He goes through the motions of closing his eyes, and really trying to relax. After about 1 week of reading it to him, he can start relaxing on his own.

  5. I am so impressed with Affirmation Weaver (positive self-talk) and A Boy and a Turtle (visualizing) CD's that I can't put it into words. These CD's have helped my son overcome his anxiety of going to school when he first started kindergarten 4 years ago. We also put them on when he is having a hard time falling asleep. They are a great resource for any child to have in their room

5 comments about Be the Person You Want to Find: Relationship and Self-Discovery.
  1. This is a simple, well written book that explores "Being the Person You Want to Find" rather than finding a specific person to fill your holes. In other words, it's primarily about your relationship with the most important life partner you will ever have... YOURSELF.

If you think about it, you are your only 100% GUARANTEED life partner. This book is about looking at your beliefs, behavioral patterns and conditioning in a curious, gentle and open way toward the goal of having a comfortable relationship with yourself. The unspoken corallary to this might be and thereby... avoid projecting your stuff on to others and get involved with the wrong people unconsciously.

This book is indirectly about relationships because by being the person we want to find, we are most likely to attract healthy people who will treat us as we treat ourselves. This book also helps us to look at our conditioning as a whole, which serves our relationship goals by making our unconscious conditioning more conscious.

I have read a number of Cheri Huber's books and have found them to be easy to read, very practical and entertaining. She does not overwhelm the reader with detail, but she provides a lot of useful and practical tools for those brave enough to do deep inquiry. She focuses more on lived experience in the moment than in-depth discussion of theory.

All of Cheri Huber's books emphasize the importance of being compassionate with yourself, looking inward and accepting whatever the present moment brings. I would say that she emphasizes that HOW you do something is at least as important as WHAT you are doing. She also stresses the importance of a daily meditation practice in most of her books, without being preachy about it. This is good advice for most of us in the West where many of us don't slow down enough to look inward.

I'm really glad to see that Cheri Huber made it as an author. I saw her speak in person and found her to be a very warm, sensitive and caring human being. I also felt she was underrated as an author at the time, but since then she has become quite popular. I often recommend her books to people because they have such broad appeal and written from a deep place of compassion and love.

  2. This book has lots of great information that is told in a very entertaining way. Highly recommended.

  3. Very insightful and also very short -- which makes it easy to review and refresh your memory and adjust your habits. While it is useful at improving relationships, its usefulness goes far beyond that. It helps guide a readers in adjusting their lives life to be more in accordance with who they "really" are; that is, it helps people disarm their various fears, anxieties, or defense mechanisms and live more authentically and rewardingly.

In an Amazon review of "Get out of Your Mind & into Your Life," I suggested Huber's book as a companion. I guess I should also do the reverse and recommend that book as a companion to this book.

I also recommend Lorne Ladner's "The Lost Art of Compassion," which blends Western and Buddhist psychology in very insightful ways.

I have found these three books personally very useful.

  4. The basic idea is to quit expecting other people to make you happy, and take care of your own needs. This books gives you insight on how to do that within your couple. It can also lead you to clues of how you keep making the same relationship mistakes...keeping yourself dissatisfied through the years...

  5. I thought this would be more of an in depth self help kind of book. It wasnt. Come to find out all this authors books are pretty much the same.
Could be good for others, but wasnt what I expected at all.

5 comments about Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti).
  1. I was skeptical at first when I ordered this CD. I never used a hypnosis CD before and wasn't sure it would work. After using it for the first few days, I started to feel a change from within me, and my confidence in certain areas has improved. The voice of Glenn Harrold is relaxing and has the ring of a trusted friend or collegue. I would suggest Glenn Harrold's recordings to those of you who may question using hypnotic recordings. I've purchased his "Financial Abundance" and "Weight Loss" as well. Both are very good. As a certified health and fitness instructor, the Weight Loss recording is nice as well.

  2. If you are plagued with a lack of self-confidence, try this CD. It is not a panacea, but I definitely experienced what can best be described as a mind switch. Mr. Harrold's soft, calm voice is so soothing, and his words are reassuring and comforting.

Am I brimming with cocky self-confidence yet? No, I hope I never will be, and I don't think that is the point of this exercise. But for the first time in years, I feel as if I am on my way to a new (and definitely more confident) way of approaching my life.

As a complement to this CD, I can also recommend "Self Healing with Guided Imagery" by Andrew Weil and Martin Rossman, and "Beverly Hills Hypnosis - Motivation to Move".

Good luck in your own personal quest to find the elusive life balance so many of us seek.

  3. This CD is very relaxing and it has really helped improve my self confidence. It is also very relaxing. It is one of the best CD's for building self confidence that I have used. You will enjoy this CD.

  4. I own five CDs by Glenn Harrold. Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti) and Creating Inner Peace & Calm are my two favorites. What I especially like about Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti) is that it is makes no attempt to be anything other than what it is. The music doesn't intrude. The speaker (Glenn Harrold) delivers the hypnotic words in a not-overly-dramatic tone which allows me to use the CD to relax every day, if I wish, without becoming bored with it. And I've been using this CD every week for about three years.

The messages on the CD are unquestionably uplifting and completely logical.

The second sequence (roughly 28 minutes long) is even more unintrusive than the first. It's somewhat similar to the first sequence on Glenn's CD Deep Sleep (Diviniti) (Diviniti) in that it conjurs up few images to stir your imagination and relies more on calming, very slightly confusing - i.e. mesmerizing - words. Since, once a CD has finished playing, my CD player shuts itself off, I use this second sequence by itself to help me relax as I drift off to sleep at night.

Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti) is a subtle masterpiece, useful anytime of day or night when you just want to let go.

  5. Pros:
    Very professionally recorded
Mr. Harrold is clearly experienced in the process of hypnotherapy

    Cons:
For me, it took a few sessions to allow my "unconscious mind" to get used to Mr. Harrold's accent.
You must feel assured that you will not be disturbed or interrupted when you listen to this CD. For me, this diminished the quality of the sessions (not really a con, I guess).

Verdict: Overall, I found this CD to be useful and genuinely effective at improving my self-confidence. I feel I have become more relaxed and at ease, though the changes are indeed very subtle. I recommend this product and also recommend that the user go into the sessions with an open mind and a willingness to allow the process a chance at succeeding.

5 comments about Indigo Dreams: Garden of Wellness Stories And Techniques Designed to Decrease Stress, Anger, Anxiety While Promoting Self-esteem ages 5-10 (Indigo Dreams).
  1. I bought this for my six year old son who has difficulty handling frustration, and sometimes has a hard time getting to sleep. He absolutely LOVES the stories on the cd, the only problem is there are only two stories. The rest of the cd talks about ways to cope with negative feelings, which were mentioned in the previous stories, and then there are a few tracks of music. My son ends up listening to only 1/4 of the cd. The stories are entertaining, but he's missing out on learning the strategies. What should have been done was to incorporate more of the instruction of the coping strategies within the body of the stories. I may eventually buy the other cd's because the stories help to keep him in bed and feeling content, but I cringe at the idea of paying money, to then use only a portion of what I paid for.

  2. I bought this for my eight year old to relax her and decrease her anxiety before bed. She is used to listening to soothing music before she falls asleep. She said the stories caused her to " stay awake" rather than fall asleep, because she had to hear the end! She said the stories were " too drawn out and repeated themselves." ( yes, her words!) My suggestion would be to alternate a story with soothing music, that way after one story they could fall asleep to the music. Then the next night they could choose a different story to fall asleep by. All the stories together is too long.( she can't stay up that late!) I did listen to the stories and felt like they were well written. The alternation with music would be better though. She does love the soothing song at the end!

  3. My daughter really loves the "Garden" cd. She has enjoyed all the Indigo Dreams in fact. She gets the message too. I found her talking w/her Nana about the music and how relaxed she feels.

  4. I purchased this CD or my highly anxious then-9 year-old daughter about a year and a half ago. Bedtime was always a struggle and she typically lay awake for over an hour each night after going to bed. Listening to this CD, she is typically asleep in a very short period of time i.e. 10 -15 min. It quickly became her favorite CD in the series! Since that time, various life circumsatnces have created much upheaval in her life. Listening to this CD at bedtime has helped her relax and fall asleep much more easily in a new environment. I put in the CD every night after tucking her in, and if she wakes up in the middle of the night, she always asks me to put it on for her again. I highly recommend this CD not only for anxious children who need help learning to relax, but also for a child who may not be able to unwind enough to get him/herself settled at bedtime, or for children who are afraid to be alone at bedtime. The soothing voice is not only comforting and relaxing, but gives my child a feeling of not being alone. By the time the music begins, she is always out like a light!

  5. I purchased this CD to use with my two younger sons, ages 6 and 8. All of my boys are somewhere on the autism spectrum and I was hoping this CD would hold their attention AND make an impact! It did! We have been trying to focus on making good choices, not just about food, but positive choices in general and this CD help to gently reinforce how making wise choices versus not-so-wise choices affects us all. As we were preparing lunches to take to school this morning, both boys commented that they didn't want to be like "the first two caterpillars" in the story (who made bad food choices). I was pleasantly surprised they remembered the story and grateful that the Lite's had produced something that appeals to maybe the "not-so-typical" children. The boys' Montessori school has Indigo Ocean Dreams available for parents, so I'm going to suggest they purchase this one as well. I highly recommend this CD not only for parents of Indigo children, or those with special needs, but for all young children to aid in their decision making capabilities.

  1. Full of quotes and reminders of how to live greatfully.

  2. I stumbled across this beautiful, powerful book a while back while doing a paper for a counseling class. Reading this little book not only changed the topic of my paper to the power of gratitude, it has helped me in changing my own attitudes (the only things I really can change about myself) to being more grateful. I have discovered that there is no room for darkness, bitterness, jealousy, and resentment in a truly grateful heart. The question of a glass half full/half empty becomes moot when one looks at the multitude of blessings one has from having a glass with anything at all.

5 comments about Bringing Out the Best in People: How to Enjoy Helping Others Excel.
  1. I fault this book for many reasons. First, the title is misleading. This is not a book about helping other people. It is basically a motivational book about how to succeed when working with others. The approach is to use numerous motivational anecdotes weaved into the author's 12-point approach. The author, has a blatant disregard of ethics. He doesn't ignore ethics, on the contrary, he often argues against them, frequently railing against idealists for their impractical approach. For example, "the idealists might suppose that the only way to inspire people is to appear to their benevolent instincts, but the best motivators usually appeal to anger as well." Another example: "For all our talk about love, I have never seen a congregation genuinely fired up which did not have the conviction that they fighting a common enemy." But whatever works is what we should do, and damn the "idealists." When McGinnis advocates truly helping others, it is always because it works to your own advantage from a practical standpoint. Appeals to pride are also common in this book, he even relates a story from his own past: " . . . I remember 35 years later my deep pride as he chewed out certain members of the team for poor performances . . . the coached praised me before the team." The exultation of pride is reprehensible, especially since McGinnis is purportedly a Christian. Since antiquity, Pride has been one of the seven deadly sins of Chrisitanity; the great popular Christian author C.S. Lewis rails eloquently against it, devoting a chapter to it in "Mere Christianity," calling it the cardinal sin. For McGinnis, all this ancient wisdom is simply "idealism" or he simply ignores it. My final complaint is that some of the information is simply inaccurate. For example, he states that "Most studies show that parents who run a tight ship and who are fairly strict produce the most secure children". This is dead wrong. The vast majority of modern psychology and research is dead against this approach; i.e. see T. Berry Brazelton, or virtually any other of book written by a mainstream M.D. or psychologist. As with all McGinnis's statements, he provides no research to back it up.
The appeal to non-benovolent (e.g. malevolent) instincts, the denigration of the Christian ideal of love, and the exaltation of the cardinal sin of pride display a pattern of disregard for ethics and the worship of the practical.

  2. This book is great for people who want to interact with people. It is for people who would like to convey things but end up somehow sending the wrong message. People who were taught myths on how to interact with people will find this book handy. I am glad that this book relates many of its findings to the teachings of the Christ and backs it up for skeptics using the latest research.

  3. Alan McGinnis was one of the first authors I read when I was interested on broader spectrum of psychology. I began reading his books when I was a kid, not even a teenager. I always enjoyed them. This book is no exception. An offshoot of The Friendship Factor he expounds on his many ideas and ways to access communication to better your ability to be understood. Excellent as usual!

  4. Probably one of the best books I've read on reading personality types and reaching out to a larger number (group) of people. This book is a must read for everyone who finds they must work with or for other people.

  5. I have read and re-read this book at least three times in the past 10 years, actively applying the steps to my own experiences. It is very insightful into human nature and its many illustrations from real life, including well-known people, along with its appeal to strong values, support its authenticity as a practical guide to helping those around you and, in the process, helping yourself.

2 comments about When Your Best Isn't Good Enough: The Secret of Measuring Up.
  1. Dr Leman is best known for his book regarding birth order and its effect upon personality and characteristics and so I expected this book to be good and I was not disappointed.

It is ironic, but the fact is that many underachievers are in fact not lazy, but people capable of excellence who have determined on some level that it is safer to gaurd against being judged by others by engineering circumstances in their lives, jobs and relationships to where other elements can be blamed, at least in the mind of that person, and they are insulated from the terrible judgement that they somehow are just not capable people.

I was struck as I read this with Dr Leman's ability to tie in a great deal from the the field of cognative behavioral therapy which has moved treatment beyond a Freudian or Jungian approach that may provide insight as to how someone has become a defeated perfectionist, but offered precious little on what to practically do about it. Dr. Leman quotes from and includes many broad themes from this field, with several direct references to Dr. David Burns who is a leader in this field.

Issues such as self-talk and coaching are addressed well and within the grasp of the average reader in an easy to read and entertaining manner.

Well worth the read. Consider it a practical read for self-coaching. It would make a good introduction to this area of behavioral therapy and should be followed up with Dr. Burns' material for those that find themselves benefitting and wanting more.

  2. This man is so funny about real life situations. His down to earth approach and realistic ideas on how to rear children is exactly what we need in today's environment! He is a man blessed with plain reason and common sense!

5 comments about Living Through the Meantime : Learning to Break the Patterns of the Past and Begin the Healing Process.
  1. This book is about realizing sometimes we are living our lives in between big events = the meantime. The author helps the reader understand this is a great time to get comfortable with ourselves because the more comfortable we are the more comfortable others will be! In a loving, comforting way she describes the steps which will help us reveal the magic within each unique person.
    Good book. Inspiring.

  2. Anything by this author is great I would highly recommend anyone
To read anything by this author Iyanla Vanzant The more you read
the more enlighted you becomeLiving Through the Meantime : Learning to Break the Patterns of the Past and Begin the Healing Process

  3. This was not my first book by her but this was the first one I didn't care for. I was very disapointed when I open the book. I was under the impression I would be able to work on my inner self. However, this book might work for others but not me. It ask me question that I was not able to answer. ex. Things about my mom. (mom died at early age) alot of the question I couldn't answer due to I don't know most of my family or know my family history. So I became very frustrated with the book an put it down and never looked at it again. I do feel if you have a strong connection or have been around your family enough you will be abe to work through the book. Good luck to other who might try

  4. This is the perfect follow up for In the Meantime. On my journey to continue the healing process and grow this has been wonderful.

  5. I bought this book because I thought it would help me sort out a lot of the issues that I was feeling emotionally and mentally from the things that have happened to me in the past. Iyanla starts off with a generalization of this prophecy. However, when you start this self help workbook, you get lost in the array of questions associated with your feelings, thoughts, and reasoning behind beliefs you've learned from childhood, or events that dramatically changed your way of innocent thinking. It then becomes hard to distinguish what your feeling from what happened. What makes it even more difficult is Iyanla provides suggestive statements that helps describe what it is your feeling and this confuses things more. By the time, I get through a chapter, I'm exhausted from figuring out what's top from bottom, that I really didn't aquire much. However, she offers a lot of love quotes and statements, that offer a quick fix to improve negative attitudes and beliefs. Great for memorizing and repeating through difficult times. Overall, I usually love Iyanla's books and activities, but this one....I really wished I hadn't purchased.
