5 comments about What to Expect the First Year, Second Ed.
- It's obvious this book is full of helpful facts, but I couldn't get past the constant insertion of biased comments from the authors. In the Six-Month-Baby chapter they call parents "week nerved" (mispelling is theirs) because they don't use the Cry It Out method. There is also a constant use of negative adjectives like a babies "pathetic" hand wave to get parents attention (also in the Six-Month chapter).
I may refer to this book occasionally, but I will not recommend it to anyone. It will probably collect dust on my book shelf.
- Interesting, humorous, comprehensive, very helpful. Recommend to read through it during pregnancy. You won't have time for reading after delivery.
- I love this book! It is literally a BIBLE for new parents! It's well worth the money! I would recommend this book 100% of the time.
- I found all answers to my questions, regarding the first year of a baby. Everything is explained simple and in detail, month by month. A must have book for new parents like me.
- I love this book! every month I can go to the next chapter and read about that month. It is very helpful and informative.

5 comments about How Not to Look Old: Fast and Effortless Ways to Look 10 Years Younger, 10 Pounds Lighter, 10 Times Better.
- This book was very disappointing. After trying some of the recommended products, it was clear to me that Charla was promoting products. Carmindy's books are much much better!!
- Basically, there's a lot of good information in this book. The author covers just about everything I was looking for, from jean color to heel height to haircolor and nail length.
And yes, as others have said, there are so many specific product, brand, store, and website suggestions, this book sometimes seems like one big ad. But . . . the author is right more often than not. I checked around and kept coming back to her suggestions.
WARNINGS:
First, if you're fifty or older, you're going to feel like an OLD broad reading a book for fortysomethings. I turn sixty on my next birthday, and have worked in Los Angeles theatre all my life. Being exposed to fashion, makeup -- the whole youth culture -- through modeling, acting, etc., I figured I could translate this book to meet my concerns, but in some cases, it just didn't happen.
Second, if you have a problem SKIN TONE, the makeup section will leave you screaming. I have very very fair skin and even "Nude Pink" lipstick/blusher/whatever turns dead purple on me. I am not exaggerating. I have a colleague who has an unusually yellowish undertone to her skin, and colors change in even stranger ways on her. I know we're not freaks because when working with theatre makeup, I've run across a lot of people who can't just, as the author instructs, buy pink lipstick (and expect it to even resemble pink when applied).
Third, the section on jeans didn't suggest specific brands that work for problem areas. There are some great ones out there, because I've found them, and don't understand why they aren't mentioned. Because the author is so big on body-shaping undergarments, I guess we're all supposed to wear Spanx under our jeans. Doesn't that defeat the idea of being able to just kick around in jeans?
I really did have some problems with sections of this book, but it was worth reading. Don't let the multitude of ads, missing info, and other annoyances stop you from reading it.
BIG FAT WARNING: Don't buy the Kindle version of this book! I did, and some of the text runs off the edges, most of the photos don't come through, and every few pages the text fades out to almost nothing. I have about fifteen books in my Kindle, and have never run into any of these problems in other books -- before or since the purchase of this one. So if you want to really use this book, buy the hard copy!
- I enjoyed reading the book - it has some great ideas, but you really should use your own judgment and apply only those suggestions which you know will work for you.
What surprised me about the book, though, was what advice it was missing - weight control and posture. If you are overweight or underweight, you will automatically look a few years older than your age. And lousy posture will definitely age you. As we get older, our posture naturally sags (from sitting at a desk, from bad habits, from gravity and the aging process) - unless you actively work at keeping your postural muscles strong and flexible (Pilates and yoga are both excellent at this).
You can botox your face till the cows come home, wear the most expensive jeans money can buy and dye your hair blond - but if you stoop and slouch, all people will see is a botoxed, jean-clad, bleached-blonde elderly lady.

Book Review: How Not to Look Old by Charla Krupp
Seen on the New York Times BestSeller List is How Not To Look Old by Charla Krupp. Ms. Krupp has done more than a hundred style segments on the Today show. She also has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The View, Dateline NBC, and Good Morning America, and she's been a regular on The E! channel and the Home Shopping Network. The former executive editor of Shop Etc. magazine, Charla was the beauty director at Glamour, senior editor at InStyle, and beauty editor at People: Style Watch. She currently writes a fashion column for More magazine.
How Not To Look Old is Charla Krupp's aesthetic advice for aging women in a hip modern world. She provides fast and simple ways to look 10 years younger, lighter and better using the tools and knowledge of her trade, combined with celebrity examples.
Feeling good about yourself is part of being healthy. How we see ourselves does impact our mental well being. One cause for concern to women around age 40 and up is lip and chin hair. Charla writes, "Everywhere you want hair, it's thinning. Everywhere you don't want hair, it's growing. During menopause when hormone levels are in flux, many women notice more hair than usual on the upper lip and chin. Nothing looks more OL {Old Lady} than a mustache and chin hairs, so they must be removed immediately--but how?"
Old fashioned home methods like shaving are effective and inexpensive. Charla writes, "Contrary to popular belief, it will not cause hair to grow in any faster, but it will create stubble, which can feel coarse." Other home remedies include tweezing, home waxing, sugar hair removal, and depilatories.
Waxing completed by a professional is effective, but the cost is a little higher--around $7-$20 for each area (lip, chin, brow).
Electrolysis, widely practiced in the 1970's and 1980's eliminates hairs one at a time, requiring several sessions. This method should be considered for only a few adamant hairs. The cost is approximately $25 per area per session.
The best hair reduction procedure today for women with hair darker than their skin tone is done by laser. The laser weakens hundreds of hair follicles in one session using heat. Usually 5-7 sessions (a full course of treatment) are necessary to impair the follicles. However, hairs dormant during treatment may grow in at a later time.
What about the pain caused by the laser? Pain may be lessened by using a numbing cream an hour before the treatment. Ask the doctor for a prescription prior to the session.
What are the risks? Risks include being burned. This field is unregulated, so look for a doctor, nurse, or physician's assistant who has had extensive practice with your skin tone. Charla Krupp recommends experience to be equivalent to hundreds of procedures.
How much does it cost? The chin, lip, and brow are separate areas. On average, Charla Krupp writes, each area is $200 per session per area, and 5-7 sessions are needed.
For a healthier, happier, more aesthetic life, take a look at How Not To Look Old.
5 Stars
- I'm really bothered that this is the type of book that women in their late 30's and up are looking to for advice. I ordered the book hoping that it would somehow be a 'big girls' book, but it's nothing more than the dozens of shallow women's magazines that I simply can't relate to either.
Nothing is going to make me look 18 again and I refuse to waste my precious life trying to look younger. At this point in my life I feel that I have earned the right to wear the clothes that I like, not what some designer tells me is in fashion this season.
And as for the hair color advice - I recently stopped lightening my hair and I feel so liberated! It's completely natural with just a few gray hairs popping out here and there. It's so nice to not have to be a slave to getting my hair done, worrying about it being dry from the chemicals, and what my husband of 22 years would think if I went natural. He LOVES it, comments on it all the time and says he's always told me that he loves the earthy way that I dress and how my hair now compliments my overall look.
Ladies, please don't fall for this book. Not all of us live in LA and we should be thankful for that. We should be allowed to celebrate who we are as we grow older, not waste our time fighting it.
I gave the book a generous 2 stars only because it was professionally organized and photographed.

5 comments about Rules of the Game.
- Neil Strauss has gone through a lot of stuff to become what he's become today. He has studied books on seduction, persuasion, communication and psychology...etc; he has spent time and money getting personal trainers to work on body language, fitness, and his voice. After years of experimenting and implementing these knowledge, he knows what works best. Now this book has combined the wisdom of all that knowledge into a step-by-step program designed to make you a better person.
The 30-day challenge is more like a 30-step program to me. Each day (step) there would be some new things to work on. Some of the steps would take me weeks to really apprehend. But after going through all of them, I can say the book made me a more confident, fun, and socially-adept person that I never thought possible.
Considering the extensive effort you have to put on to become a better person, whether or not to pay 17 dollars on a book should probably be the least you need to worry about right now. Buy this book today!
- I read "The Game" and naturally wanted to follow it up with "Rules of the Game" when I found out Neil got back into the pick-up scene. Turns out, it's a little less interesting the second time around when it seems like he's doing it out of notoriety. I mean, it was interesting the first time because he was a no one getting everything he wanted--both physically and professionally--as a result of making use of the tools he is advertising here. Then he has a major epiphany and moves on with his life. Turns out since there's still money to be made, he's back. I'm not bitter, just bored.
- If you have the courage to follow this program then you will figure out the world of dating! But the biggest thing I feel you will get out of this book if self confidence. That's the number 1 key to meeting and attracting women! Get this book and learn it, know it and live it in that order. You will not be disappointed unless your a Chump. If you don't get "it" then your helpless and a true Chode! You have no more excuses!
- I first read the game when I heard of a friend talking about it. I tell you what it was a comical book it was hilarious. What made it even more entertaining is being a hypnotist and seeing waking hypnosis in play, fantastic!
This one though. WHAT HAPPENED! This is for a loser who is social incompetent. The author tried to turn it into a self help thing. I read about 5 pages and through it out! What a waste!
Look no offense to the guys out there that have trouble talking to women or have trouble picking up, but it all has to do with your communications skills to your self and certainty when it comes to picking up. If you were CERTAIN that when spoke to a girl that she liked you, I'm telling they will like you. You don't have to use gimmicks and steps that are given in these two books.
- Loved The Game, but thought Rules could have included more information. Also recommend "Secrets of the A Game" by Logan Edwards and "Mystery Method" by Mystery.

5 comments about Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child.
- I found this book very informative and helpful. This book gave me the courage to let my daughter cry herself to sleep. She's a wonderful napper and night sleeper now, with hardly any crying.
- This book may contain good information about babies and their sleep habits, but I wouldn't know because I couldn't follow a word of it. Maybe it's just my lack of sleep and "baby brain", but I found the book disorganized and hard to follow. It is also riddled with alarming warning messages with little explanation. I wish the author had a better editor or a co-author because there might be some good information here.
- We have three children 8,4 and 3. We read this book when someone recommended it for our first child's sleeping problems. Since our oldest was 3 months old ALL of our children have had succesful sleeping patterns. They all go to sleep awake and always have, they all have the "natural" wake times (ie. around 3:00 am) and because of this book they soothe themselves back to sleep. How awesome is that! Do your babies wake up from there naps screaming crying? That is a sign that they are NOT well rested. My 4 and 3 year olds still take naps EVERY day 2-3 hours and still go to sleep 8:30 pm every night. Children have to have success in everything they do so they will continue to do it. This gives the success to the child and takes the fear out of a lot of sleeping problems. Read this great book with an open mind. When the Dr. says 3 days to form a new habit, it is unbelieveable that is exactly what happens. I have friends that state "my kids just do not need that much sleep" or "you just have kids that sleep more than mine", it is a learned HABIT just like a LACK OF SLEEP is a learned HABIT. Great book, cannot say enough.
- Thank goodness we got this book. I never ever thought the sleepless nights would end. But, they did. It was a little confusing for us because we had to tackle three problems at once. We had to transition to crib, get the baby to fall asleep on her own, and stay asleep. Read it! It makes sense and it works.
- This book is terribly confusing. The author switches between ages without warning. I makes it hard to understand if the information given is for an older infant or a newborn. This book just needs a better structure.

5 comments about The Beach House.
- The last few Jane Green books I have read seem to have the exact same people going through infidelity, divorce, pregnancy issues, etc, the only difference is that she changes the characters names.
I really wish Jane Green would get back to writing novels with a main protaginist instead of having the plethera of characters she keeps throwing in her novels. It drove me nuts that once I got involved in someone's story the next chapter moved on to someone else.
I finished The Beach House in one afternoon and all in all I have to say the entire book just had me feeling unsatisfied since there were way too many plots going on and I think she would have been better served in just writing several different books or short stories instead of trying to tie things together with everyone staying at at "beach house" for the summer and having the wise old woman solving all of their problems. All of the plots were tied up too neatly.
- I picked up "Babyville" a couple of weeks ago and realized that I have read it or have read so many books like this one that I have forgotten it. So I didn't finish reading it since there are so many other books clamoring for my attention and "Babyville" just didn't grab my attention. When the library called and told me that "The Beach House" was in, I thought it was going to be funny.
It is, but it isn't. The best thing about this book is that it's a very fast read. I read it in almost two days. Thankfully. It didn't drag nor did it sink. It is just a so-so novel from an author that I know is quite capable of producing better books. This is definitely not her best book and it is definitely right for a beach read or for a long plane ride.
This book reminds me of Maeve Binchy's short stories collection, where you have five different characters with different viewpoints and their stories intermeshed somehow into making this a novel. Green really needs to stick with novels with one main character as that is her strongest strength ... not books like this one.
There is Nan, matriach and widow who lives on Nantucket. She lives in the ancient Powell home and her son, Michael, returns home from NYC in disgrace. Then there's Daniel, a gay man who just outed himself for the first time and is in the midst of a divorce where he worries about never seeing his two daughters again. Then there's Daff, a young divorcee with a very moody teen-age daughter who decided to spend the summer with her dad. The stories are stereotpyical and predictable and unrealistic.
But if you want to escape reality for a few hours, this book would do the trick. However, hopefully sometime soon, Green will go back and write her fun novels and stick with a formula that is truly hers instead of just cranking out books that doesn't inspire readers to keep reading.
10/6/08
- I love this book, it is the first book i have read by this author and it makes me laugh, cry and everything in between. Very good book and makes me think ALOT
- I totally enjoyed this book and how the author brought all the characters together in the end. It reminded me of my favorite author Mauve Binchey.
- For the very first time, I feel compelled to review an Amazon book because of my extreme disappointment. The excerpt made it sound like a fun, interesting read so my book group bought a bunch of hard cover copies. By the end, each of us believed we could have written it. The plot lines, dialogue, and messages were predictable cliches. There were no surprises, and we never really cared about any of the characters whose stories were tied up quickly with neat little bows. Obviously there's a market for this type of book since some people appear to have enjoyed it. From our book club to you, save your money.

5 comments about A Child Called "It": One Child's Courage to Survive.
- This book was painful and disturbing to read. The author's point-of-view, which seems confusing at first, is absolutely the voice of an abused child. I am highly upset at those Amazon reviewers who questioned whether or not he was really an abused child. This is Dave Pelzer's view of his world as a child. The emotions are overdrawn and the situations outrageous and improbable because he is writing as an adult, trying to recreate the emotions he felt and what he lived through as a child.
- The book was for my daughter. It arrived quickly and she didn't put it down until she was finished. Transaction went very smoothly.
- It's hard to believe that anything like this can ever happen. I admire that Dave Pelzer came far enough to be able to write about this book and the horrors of child abuse. Violent, senseless, and powefully told.
- I found this book to be very disturbing in many ways.
First the shear horror of the acts inflicted on this child by a parent were too disturbing to complete.
Second, the detail that is included in the book from the time this man was 5 or 6 until he was 12 or 13 is just a little too over the top for me to believe it is actually the memory of a small child.
I am not denying that he was abused but I felt there was a little bit of embelishment from the adult writing.
I could not finish the book nor am I interested in ready the rest of his writtings. I find it amazing that he can over come the abuse and become a whole person but it was just a little much for me
- What a wonderful heartbreaking book. I read this book in one night. I tried to put it down after the chapter The Accident. I lay there in my bed and cannot stop my mind from wondering, what happened to this little boy. I had to finish it, that night. The next morning I ordered 3 more of David's books. 5 STAR BOOK

5 comments about The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book.
- A short tome that is easily readable. Upon reflection, and a willingness to try the Four Toltec agreements, it could lead to change in your life. This book was brought to my attention by the interview in Esquire of Tom Brady. It is easier said than done to follow the four agreements put forth, but they are great guidelines to attempt to follow.
- After reading this book I stopped drinking and smoking on the drop of a dime. Within several weeks I was a vegetarian. I have read "Conversations with God" that I loved, I read the "Celestine Prophecy" - so I have read several books in that genre. But I have never come across a book that packs this much of a spiritual punch. Did reading this book change my life? YES! People say that about books, but it is something else when it happens to you. This book has influenced my life more than any other book has. I can only say that the quality of your life will be improved after reading this book, it should be read again and again.
- Ruiz has come up with four principles from ancient Toltec wisdom. If one adopts these four agreements, Ruiz argues, they will help bring a sense of peace and happiness to one's life. Generally the agreements sound reasonable enough: don't take things personally, say only good things about others, etc. So far, so good. But there's some serious theoretical problems that underlie Ruiz's plan. Ruiz seems to suggest that the self can determine the majority of one's experience outside of social context. He claims that society is composed of collective dreams. Even recognizing that Ruiz is infusing dreams with more importance than western culture generally does, it still strikes me that the message here is that if one has fortified one's spirit with these four principles, nothing anyone else says or does can strongly affect you. Maybe I'm too close-minded, but I just can't buy it. We all live in social and cultural worlds, and those worlds do shape our experience, whether we like it or not.
- I have used this book over and over. It is an incredible resource and helps me to stay positive and focused no matter what life sends my way.
-
I just finished this book today. My mentor suggested it to me after I had a serious breakdown due to coming to terms with the way my mother treated me as a child and continues to treat me and how that has affected the person I am today and my daily life. This book taught me how to start a life without those "lies" and "agreements" fed to me by my mother and how to turn everything in to love and freedom.

5 comments about Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food.
- I was excited at first, getting my kids to eat veggies! Wow!
But I found out that every single thing there is made un-healthy due to either frying or being mixed with tons of other fats (like chocolate!) what's the point in sneaking veggies to the kids if all the rest is not so god. I am not sure how all the vitamins and minerals from vegetables and other ingredients survive the heat of frying pan/oven.
I gave up on this book, plus my 5 year old wouldn't eat anything anyway.
I do not recommend it. I think kids need to learn eat their vegetables through honesty and consistency. It comes with age. Plus don't provide the un-healthy alternatives/empty calories.
- I've made the chocolate brownies from this book. The brownies use carrot and spinach puree. They are wonderfully moist and great tasting. I've made the brownies for children and for the poeple with whom my husband works.
Everyone raves about the brownies that are "good for them"
- From: www.BasilAndSpice.com
When my son was a toddler, he ate everything, even wood! I was constantly alert for anything other than food entering his mouth. As I prepared meals in the kitchen, he would sit in his highchair and taste-test my culinary creations. Time passed and David entered school. Peer pressure regarding dietary habits hit back at my efforts to feed my family healthy meals, and I was forced to resort to creative cooking--hiding the vegetables, fruits, and whole grains in common everyday dishes.
Recently, I reviewed Deceptively Delicious, by Jessica Seinfeld, wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld. The author has been plagued with the same complaints all mothers have--"One won't eat! The other is picky! They say it's disgusting!" Dinner hour, an unpleasant way to wrap up the day, is one of the largest obstacles mothers face. Rather than resorting to takeout Chinese or chicken nuggets from the freezer, Jessica has become an expert at hiding vegetables and fruits in family favorites, making dining with the children a happier healthier experience.
Using the basic steamer or pot with a steamer basket and a food processor or blender, the author roasts or steams each vegetable, purées them separately, then stores the vegetable blends in freezer bags. Fruits do not need to be cooked, just blended. As she needs them, Jessica thaws and adds the purée to each recipe.
A wonderful example are her Pita Pizzas--we've all made these, but Jessica's are slightly different. Under the tomato sauce lies a surreptitious nutritious addition--spinach (puréed of course). It is hidden with the help of mozzarella.
Jessica Seinfeld's recipes are ready in about 30 minutes or less. However, one would need to set some time aside to steam and blend the vegetables in advance, storing them in the freezer for future use. Organization she says, is the key. The recipes are all nutritionally checked by Joy Bauer.
Moms of America, if you want to feed your children healthier meals which they'll readily devour, I suggest you take a look at Deceptively Delicious. It's a winner! No wonder it's a bestseller.
A BestSeller Review
5 Stars
- The idea behind this book is great, although not entirely original, but the recipes are NOT great. Let me just say that I have been cooking meals for my family since I was around 13 years old so I know how to prepare simple and complicated meals at home and I also bake. My feedback on the recipes:
Banana Bread- Collapsed in the middle, was gummy throughout and tasted like vegetable puree. No one in our house wanted to eat it.
Quesadillas- Never crisped up because the recipe calls for too much puree. They were total mush inside and I couldn't even serve them. We had sandwiches that night!
Chicken nuggets- You can TOTALLY see and taste the spinach puree. They look nothing like the picture. And as another reviewer commented, there isn't enough oil in the pan to cook the chicken properly and the first batch I made was really burned.
Sloppy joes- Another case of too much puree called for in the recipe. They were rather bland and very wet and mushy. The liquid never really absorbed just made it very pasty.
Last night making the sloppy joes was my last go at getting something to turn out from this book. It's been very frustrating scraping dishes full of food made from expensive, organic groceries into my garbage can. I am left wondering if Jessica ever really road tested these recipes, or wasn't able to translate what she was doing that was so "delicious" in her kitchen into workable recipes. Too bad, I really was hoping it would work out!
- This book is fantastic - I absolutely love it. Mrs. Seinfeld is pure genius!

5 comments about The Baby Book: Everything You Need to Know About Your Baby from Birth to Age Two (Revised and Updated Edition).
- It is an awesome book! It has everything you need to know and it's really easy to find the answers to your questions! I highly recommend it to new parents such as myself!
- Bought this book as I also believe in attachment parenting.I am still reading it as the book is extremely thick. It covers almost all areas. What I like most about this book as opposed to those "Schedule and Routine training books" is that it doesnt make you feel guilty about wanting to co-sleep with your baby. It felt natural to me and this book actually encourages it.A lot of the things like attending to your baby when he cries and carrying your baby when he wants to be held are encouraged. Other books usually tell you that you are spoiling a child but what does a new baby know about spoiling? They just want to feel loved and secure. I feel a lot more confident about my natural way of parenting. My baby is contented and so am I.Great book.Good buy. Worth every cent. The Dr.Sears website is also excellent.
- PROS:
we LOVE this book since it gives us the right balance between what the field of medicine has to offer with our more natural philosophy of living.
In other words, it gives the vaccination when needed, but also supports co-sleeping and wearing the baby.
So we can keep with our way of life, knowing that we do the responsible thing, giving the medication when needed.
It also has a bunch of advice on other issues such as good foods, pacifier vs. finger, etc.
CONS:
none.
- I guess I'm this book's target audience. I am a breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing, stay at home mom. I have found great advice and support in this book. I never viewed my parenting method as radical, it's just the way I want my child raised. If you are already following an attachment parenting model this book is an excellent guide. If you are an absolute "traditional" parent this book probably isn't for you.
- This book offers comprehensive information about babies and toddlers. A big help to the new mom. And it is written in an easy to read style. I felt well-prepared for starting my journey into motherhood.

5 comments about Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No to Take Control of Your Life.
- From what I've read, it doesn't seem like those with the critical reviews haven't really read the whole book. In a society that's increasingly tolerant and co-dependent, though, I can see people resisting the truth and freedom this book offers. Let me tell you. I first read "Boundaries" over 10 years ago, when I was suffering from Major Depression in college. This book provided the way out. It has played a major role in my life ever since. I have the most amazing marriage now, and my husband and other close friends have found amazing freedom from as we read & re-read this book. We are healthy, and we are happy, but keeping "Boundaries" in the world we live in can be a challenge and takes practice... but it's worth it, as scripture always is. I'm grateful the author's aren't afraid to be true to God's Word.
- I read this book a few months ago and the advice it gave me was absolutely amazing. I had worked at a job for almost four years where I was the office doormat, but the last year that I worked at the job it was becoming really out of hand. I had always stepped up to the plate and did way more than my fair share of the work around the office, but in the last year I worked there my boss informed me that one of my co-workers was not doing her work appropriately and I needed to do her job until he "figured out what to do". Well for eight months I did my job and this other person's job, I had five minute lunches as I tried to get everything done. My co-worker would come in my office and go on and on about how this was the easiest job she had ever had in her life. She started bringing in lists of things to look up on the internet because she told me she ran out of things to look up. My boss sat in his office and read all day and when I would go in to talk to him about the situation he would continue reading and wouldn't even look up at me. One day I came in early before work and told him that I was BURNED OUT! He said okay and had the co-worker do her old job for 3 days and then that was the end of it, and he had me start doing her job again. Well I put in a month notice and I quit, and after I quit they fired the co-worker because she couldn't do the job. I was always the good Christian that kept my mouth shut and did what I was told, but guess what God doesn't want you to be a doormat. He wants you to be loving and humble, but you are not responsible for someone else. I have read so so so many Christian books about the importance of being humble and to just persevere through tough challenges, but this was the first Christian book that let me know it is okay to stand up for yourself.
- Applying the principles in this book literally changed my life and healed so many relationships in my life. It's Biblically sound and focuses on enabling people to live the life that God intended.
- I am sorely disappointed!!! It was not clear to me that I was getting a book that is about 1 inch by 1 inch. I don't order books often and didn't know that I needed to confirm it was full-sized. I wish it had been made more clear. I waited nearly two weeks for it to arrive and now I'm not sure I'll even be able to read it because it is so TINY!
- From cover to cover Boundaries is a complete Christian handbook for discovering why God created boundaries and how to implement them into our lives. By following this guide many dysfunctional people will find a path to freedom and regain control of their lives. Boundaries are clearly defined in this book in all areas; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Using the steps in the book will bring new health to your relationships and lead to a walk of being the loving giving people God intended us to be. Having grown up in a dysfunctional family myself, I have to say that Boundaries is the icing on the cake of healing that God has served me and I will serve to others as well.
