5 comments about Mandala: Luminous Symbols for Healing, 10th Anniversary Edition with a New CD of Meditations and Exercises.
  1. Mandala: Luminous Symbols for Healing, by Judith Cornell, is absolutely the most incredibly beautiful book I've ever held in my hands. Holding and looking at it, even before reading, is like a sacred experience. Is it the beauty of the lay-out and illustrations? The very real spiritual impact of the mandalas presented, both historical and contemporary? A moment of healing even in the first moment's gasp of awe while browsing its pages? One even begins to caress its binding. One of my favorite activities now is to present it to friends and watch their faces--their eyes pop open, their jaws drop in amazement--and hear the quick intake of breath as its color begins to radiate into their awareness. Beyond the first impression, reading took me to awesome depths and insights regarding ultimate reality, syntheses I'd previously long puzzled. Don't miss this dazzling yet holy experience. Look, read, and practice the simple yet brilliant art-as-at-one-ment exercises for the depth of your life.

  2. The beauty of the mandalas pictured in the book intimidated me because it had been so many years since I'd created any art. I didn't think I could do it. But I did it and I'm extremely grateful to Judith Cornell for writing this book. Working on the exercises at home, alone, is not the same experience as it would be in a group. The group can offer a creative support level that helps each individual surpass previous achievements. However, I'm so happy with the mandalas I created as a result of these exercises that I've put each one up on the wall. And, even more important, I've continued to draw. No more creative blocks for me!

  3. Last year I used this book as a resource for a special high school art unit that I developed entitled "Sacred Circles." In addition to learning about circular artwork in various cultures and world religions, students used Judith's beautiful illustrations and step by step guides to create mandalas of their own. (...) This is a book that I still have available in my classroom and students continue to refer to it (independently!) to advance their drawing techniques. SO glad I bought this!

  4. This is a great book on many levels.
The other reviewers have done such a good job that I'll just leave it at that.
I will buy copies for friends. A perfect gift.

  5. I liked this book. The illustrations are fantastic. It includes good explanations of the spiritual work that can be involved during the process of drawing mandalas. It focuses primarily on the role and image of light. Everything is done on black paper. The guides for making your own mandalas are good. The instructions for shading and the use of color are very helpful. It helped me understand that not all mandalas rely on a geometric form. If you decide to use colors, do what the book suggests and spend the extra money to get the pencils listed. It's a spectacular difference in the end product.

4 comments about The "Unknown" Reality, Vol. 1: A Seth Book.
  1. In this book (two volumes) Seth adds depth to some of the concepts introduced in Seth Speaks (Reincarnation, Probabilities) and adds new flavours (Counterparts, Families of Consciousness). Excellent and intriguing as usual but you should have read and enjoyed "Seth Speaks" or "Nature of personal reality" before you dig into this one. However, I just finished reading it for the third time and (again) it's been like a new book to me.

  2. I will tell you a story. After reading this book, I wondered if I had a counterpart anywhere near my home!! I asked in my mind to be shown this person, if there was one, and to be shown in such clarity that I would recognize him or her!! As I sat in a cafe, about a week later, a man came into the cafe with a small child. He was wearing the exact clothes I was wearing, down to the running shoes. We had the same shirt on and khaki pants! We had the same body shape, he being a bit taller. He had gotten out of a silver Mercedes( I used to dream about owning one!) Every hair on my body stood up. The child with him had a t-shirt on which read "Sister". My own sister in this life lived one day, "died" in 1942. I had this most wonderful feeling of peace. Just coincidence? No, I don't think so. Cheers!

  3. This book, along with any other Seth book, can open your mind to new ways of seeing yourself and the world we live in. I can read one page, sometimes, one sentence, and have something to reflect on for hours, if not forever. Highly recommended if you want to expand your awareness.

  4. Everyone who wants to know more about how to make The Secret work for them must read these books!

4 comments about Be Like Water: Practical Wisdom from the Martial Arts.
  1. Joseph Cardillo offers practical wisdom for everyday living in this brilliantly written book. The format is well-designed ~ with a spiritual saying at the beginning and resolutions at the end of each chapter. It's wonderful finding opportunities to apply his ideas, to `go with the flow' of life ~ to conserve strength and energy ~ to move through life more gently.

  2. This is one of those books that you can't put down. I'm not a big reader, nor am I big in to martial arts, however the principles in this book really apply to everyday life.

It immediately changed the way I analyze situations. There are many small details that anyone can use to change something if that is something they want to.

I have read this book a few times, mainly looking for something else to apply to life.

  3. This is another one of those "It does what it says on the label" type books. You'll not want to put it down once you've started.

The book is arranged into many small one to three page chapters about a subject e.g. "Pacing Yourself" or "Identifying Your Priorities", then followed by a page or two on Meditations about how you might achieve what has been discussed then one page of "Resolutions" on suggested promises you should make to yourself to carry out the task at hand.

Written in a nice easy flowing & interesting manner which urges you on to want to just read one more chapter before you put it down.

Although the topics discussed immediately relate to Budo (Martial Arts), all of them can equally be applied to everyday living without little or any adaptation.

  4. I received it in excellent condition. Maybe the only thing I was disappointed with was not being able to engage in conversation with the previous owner. She thanked me but refused to reply after that. I wanted her opinion and I'm deathly lonely. Was hoping to make a new friend.

2 comments about The Law of One: Book II (Law of One) (Law of One).
  1. This, the second book in the 4-part series of The Law of One, is an amazing look further into the mysteries of our Universe. The material, while somewhat technical at times, is very positive in its delivery. This is a book you will read several times and keep as a reference tool. I can't say enough how much it has effected me and how much clearer I see things around me. It was recommended to me by many friends, all of whom have been positively effected by the material.

  2. It brings to light many things talked about in book 1.
    Can't wait to get book 3 & 4.
    Very hard to find books.

5 comments about Attitude Is Everything: Change Your Attitude...and You Change Your Life!.
  1. Your attitude is basically a window to the world. You attract into your life your deepest thoughts and desires. Thoughts become things. Make commitments to take action, persevere and you will reach new heights. In every adversity there's opportunity, make sure you watch for the opportunity and grab the momentum. Watch your language, you are what you speak of most of the time, negative or positive. How are your attitude to the world? Change your attitude and you change your life. Stop complaining and start counting your blessings. Associate with positive people, pay any price to be in their circle. Fear is a greenlight to opportunity, confront it and you will grow mentally and financially. Get out there and fail, it's good for you. Just make sure you persevere and learn through your failures. Get out there and help as much people as you can, that's the only key to successful networking. Your attitude is everything. Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it, positive or negative.

Overall a good read with all the basic principles. If you can shift your paradigms to the rules covered in the book, I would say that your path to success is half way done.

  2. Great book and a short easy read packed with information and things that are easy to put into practice but that one might not have thought about before. Both my 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter (almost done) have read it too. Although the reviews from them were not great, I already see where it has made a difference and we can talk about how to put it into action for the better since we have the same foundation to work off of. I can't think of a single person I know who would not gain some positive benefit from spending the small amount of time reading it. Happy improving of yourself!!

  3. I suggest you purchase this book and keep with you at all times. Highly motivational. Great buy!

  4. I bought this book to help myself out of what I thought was a bad attitude at work. This helped me focus and change what needed to be changed. I think this book is well worth the money.

  5. As a student of many (large #) of personal development books ("he who 'needs', reads"), I was skeptical that this book could offer more. And while I don't think there was much new in this book that I hadn't read in much deeper tomes, I think Keller did a terrific job in synthesizing the key concepts in a thin 130-page book that is an easy and quick read. I equate it to a condensed version of a number of the best personal development books that I have read.

Author makes excellent use of "famous person" quotations to support his points ("No Pressure, No Diamonds"-Mary Case; "The things that hurt, instruct" - Benjamin Franklin). He uses good anecdotes and personal reflections to keep the book flowing and has a large number of practical and useful recommendations. Here are the section and chapter titles:

Part I: Succession Begins in the Mind
Lesson 1: Your Attitude is Your Window to the World
Lesson 2: You are a Human Magnet
Lesson 3: Picture Your Way to Success!
Lesson 4: Make a Commitment and You'll Move Mountains
Lesson 5: Turn Your Problems into Opportunities

    Part 2: Watch Your Words
Lesson 6: Your Words Blaze a Trail
    Lesson 7: How are You?
    Lesson 8: Stop Complaining

Part 3: Heaven Helps Those Who Act
Lesson 9: Associate with Positive People
Lesson 10: Confront Your Fears and Grow
Lesson 11: Get Out There and Fail
Lesson 12: Networking That Gets Results

5 comments about The Teachings of Abraham Well-Being Cards.
  1. It's not what you read or how much you read thats important - but being alive and staying on track is healthy for our mind - these inspiration keep me on track and when i talk on the phone to a friend i randomly chose a card which inspires me ... try it for your self ... Thanks Esther and Jerry "again"

  2. I read all the wonderful reviews, especially the one from Janet, and decided to buy the cards but these cards do not reflect that quality. To me they look like they were done in a rush just to make money. The pictures on them are very cheap and there is nothing uplifting or inspirational about them. There is no booklet that would go with the cards which is a great loss. The text of the cards is sometimes inspirational but usually it is just something we heared already so many times. I so much lack vibrations that would carry you beyond the words you read, something that is always present when writting is channeled. I truly do not understand how Janet Boyer could write what she did about the cards. It is not true. There is nothing uplifting or new about them. Just sentences we know and ugly pictures. The author did not even made an efford to write a booklet for it.

I feel that Janet Boyer must be a beginner in channeled teachings because no one who is familiar with channeled material could not call this a master piece. All these words has been written for so many times. For example "Omni reveals the four principles of creation" from John L. Payne is also a channeled book on the same topic. All the cards feel like copied from this book but without the original energy.

I believed Janet and bought the cards. Me and my clients, we were very disappointed.

  3. I just sat down and slowly went through the whole deck while listening to meditation music. Card by card, my spirits began to lift. I even found myself smiling and laughing a bit, which is kind of rare for me as I have been incredibly negative in recent years.

I know now that I will use these cards a lot to lift my spirits and assist in my deliberate creation of my reality.

These cards are great, because, after you have listened to and read some of the Abraham material, to the point where you understand all of the basics, then these cards will serve as quick and easy reminders on all of the points that Abraham makes.

If you need your spirits lifted, this will definitely do the trick. And try it with inspirational, instrumental music, such as new age and hearts of space.

  4. I now know when I'm being to assertive or not assertive enough; when to back off and when to move in. I'm already practicing a lot of the methology and will give it it's 5th star when I'm successful

  5. My life seemed to be spinning out of control due to medical issues and job issues and on and on. I had read the book, "Ask and It Is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks and loved it. So, I expected no less from these cards. Each day, I randomly select a card and then I keep that card with me throughout the day, referring to it. It has both opened my eyes to what is wonderful in my life, and brought me amazing peace when faced with some obstacles. I believe that the card I get each day is given to me for a reason...and so far the cards are 100% on target. Highly recommend.

4 comments about Wellness Coaching for Lasting Lifestyle Change.
  1. This book is well worth every penny; a comprehensive look at Wellness from one of the leading authorities. I highly recommend this book for anyone who values wellness and wants to incorporate a healthy lifestyle into their lives. It is written in a user-friendly manner and really feels like you have a coach in your coner on every turn of the page.
    -Greg Giesen
    Author, Ask Dr. Mac

  2. Michael Arloski has produced a thorough coaching manual. This book is based upon a review of the wellness concept as pioneered by leading practitioners over the past 30 years, particularly Dr. John Travis and the National Wellness Institute. In "Wellness Coaching for Lasting Lifestyle Change," Arloski guides the reader who seeks to coach others. He employs a variety of effective techniques to organize a lot of information. Among the major themes that coaches are urged to master are wellness mapping, making connections and understanding core competencies. All three are thoroughly explained - and they do make sense.

A wide range of health-related practitioners will find solid ideas in this book for motivating clients (and themselves) to reach improved levels of performance both professionally and personally. While the focus is behavioral change, Arloski presents a solid groundwork in health education history, change theory and traditional methodologies. A central coaching idea continually reinforced is the mindset shift from prescribe and treat (or educate and implore) to advocate and inspire.

Among the key chapters are sections devoted to medical coaching (persons with health challenges), unique coaching issues in different kinds of settings (e.g., hospital versus corporate programming) and attending to the interpersonal dynamics within coaching (e.g., "calendarizing" and body/mind concerns).

Generous, easy-to-understand graphic illustrations and an extensive recommended reading list add to the value of "Wellness Coaching."

Michael heads the Ft. Collins, CO based "Real Balance Global Wellness Services" organization. He is a licensed psychologist, consultant and wellness advisor for "The Institute for Life Coach Training." He has served as president of the Northern Colorado Association for Training & Development, the Ohio Society for Behavioral Health And Biofeedback and the Colorado College Counselors Association.

  3. Dr. Arloski has published a long awaited book on the new attention given to health and wellness coaching....and he has been doing wellness coaching for 2 decades!!!! Long a proponent of the "coach approach" being the missing link in wellness education and lifestyle change, this book paves the way for real change that is lasting. Coaching helps desired change become sustainable over time and Dr. Arloski's book has tips, techniques, and strategies for using coaching with clients and organizations who want to live healthy and well!!!!

author of Becoming a Professional Life Coach: Lessons from the Institute for Life Coach Training

    Dr.Patrick Williams CEO of WWW.lifecoachtraining.com and [...]

  4. As an Educational Psychologist and School Psychologist, I found portions of the book to be useful in my work as a Student Success Coach with college students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and NonVerbal Learning Disorders. I appreciated the positive focus of the book, as well as the paradigm shift away from "prescribe and treat" to self-discovery and self-advocacy, which is more developmentally appropriate for college students. I would hesitate to recommend this book for use with younger students. It is clearly geared toward adults, but portions can be modified for older adolescents.

This was a refreshing read because it dovetails nicely with the research in Humanistic and Positive Psychology. In particular, I found the tools in the appendix to be useful for the initial rapport-building and goal-setting sessions. My students have enjoyed the "Wellness Wheel" activity, which is a self-assessment tool for rating satisfaction in many areas of their lives (not just school or work). My only disappointment was that the materials in the appendix appeared to be scanned in and were too small to reproduce.

5 comments about Freedom From The Ties That Bind: The Secret of Self Liberation.
  1. Freedom from the Ties that Bind has taught me a new, clearer, more uplifting way of thinking. Guy Finley teaches in this book what everyone should learn growing up. The book is filled with insightful instructions that can be utilized everyday to truly change the way you view the world and live your life. As a sponsor in a twelve step program, I've given this book to my sponsees so they "can learn a new way of thinking".

  2. This book not only can change your way of thinking but can change your life! Finley is one of the most under rated spiritual writers of our time. For those which are in tune with Wayne Dyer or Deepak Chorpa, you will find that Finley rates right up at the top with these writers. The book is an "easy" read and you will learn MUCH! Finley makes us understand what life is all about and does it in a manner that allows you to retain all of the information. WONDERFUL GUIDE TO FREEING THE SPIRIT!

  3. Are you tired of inner voice that confuses you, puts you binded to the People, things & Events,Do you feel like running when time comes to make a decision,Then This book is For You.

Author tries to tell us that, its not outer cicumstances which make us unhappy its only our reaction. We react in that way.So its we who is responsible for our unhappiness. We Shouldnt blame. We Cant blame anyone for anything.

Whatever our negative beliefs are,Whether its fear,Anger,Jeoulesy or anything else We produce it So we are going to suffer for it.Outer things have no power on us.Once we understand who we are,We are free of all these nonsense.

Author has given so many insights,Just read them, think them,Understand them & go 'Free'

  4. I found this book to be very helpful,in defining freedom, not what most people speak of. True freedom from self is the only freedom there is, not man made and societys definition, because there is no freedom in the real world, only within.

  5. This is a great book revealing mystical principles of the false self in a clear way 5 stars.

  4. While the language on these discs can be identified, with close scrutiny as a form of English, It is extremely difficult to understand, especially if one's hearing is a bit below par.

I think customers should be warned if language used is not English or non standard English. The speaker is also unskilled, often swallowing the end of his sentences. Very frustrating trying to catch this all, and the lists that he asks you to memorize are impossible to understand. Mispronounced words can be figured out if in a sentence, but not on a stand alone basis. I have never been exposed to this form of English before. It was unnecessarily difficult and, in my opinion, a different reader should have been used.

5 comments about Life Is Short, Wear Your Party Pants.
  1. Life is Short: Wear Your Party Pants by Loretta LaRoche is as delightfully funny as she herself is in her speaking engagements all over the country. Loretta learned early in her painful childhood to be the clown in the family to boost the spirits of the rest of the family members. Learning to deal with her own problems in a healthy way through laughter, she became an expert in helping others with her Ten Simple Thruths That Lead To An Amazing Life. These truths include resilience, living in the moment, optimism, acceptance, humor, creativity, moderation, responsibility, meaning, and connection. In each chapter she gives fun and resourceful ways to learn how to handle life using these great tools, with laughter being the key ingredient that helps relieve stress. You'll laugh at her and with her and at yourself as you read and practice her simple truths. And life WILL grow less stressful and lots more fun as you learn from her that when you turn your patter of being "stressed" around you get wonderful "desserts!"

  2. I've liked seeing Loretta LaRoche on various PBS specials, but until
now, had never read anything by her . . . what a shame!

LIFE IS SHORT, WEAR YOUR PARTY PANTS made me laugh, but it also got me to think about the fact that things such
as party pants shouldn't be saved for later--they should be enjoyed now.

LaRoche, a stress management consultant, presents such ideas
    in a humorous, easy-to-apply fashion . . . such as this one:
keep a joy journal . . . she notes that, "Keeping a joy journal
will help you maintain a feeling of elation, the sense that you're
searing with the eagles instead of scratching in the dirt with the
    turkey."

As to what to put down in such a journal, she suggests that
you try some of these ideas to move you in the right direction:

    1. Think of people who have really made a positive difference
    in your life.

    2. List three of four things that you do well.

    3. Write down at least five things that you like about yourself.

    4. Think of a time in which you had so much love in your heart
that you thought it would burst.

    5. Think of some of the favorite physical activities you enjoyed as a child
(swimming, jumping rope, roller skating?). List them, and think about ways
    you might do them again.

    6. Think of five qualities you adore in your partner or spouse.
Write them down, and tell him or her about them.

    7. Think back to a time when you felt supported while going
through a challenge. How did this feel, in detail?

    8. Remember three time when you felt inner peace and serenity.
Can you capture that feeling? Where were you? Why were
    you feeling so good?

    9. Think of someone you might forgive, and how doing so might
    change your life.

    10. Whom do you laugh with the most? Remember a time when
you laughed so hard you thought you'd fall over.

And laugh is what you'll do when you think of this one other
technique advocated by LaRoche . . . she says, "Don't
indulge yourself, but don't deny yourself either. It's unhealthy to
eat mounds of lasagna every day, but it's just as unhealthy
to want it and never allow yourself the pleasure of having some.
One of my favorite lines is 'Just have lasagna and shut up!' "

    Thanks, Loretta . . . methinks I'll do that now; i.e., stop
writing this review now and start eating some ice cream
    instead . . . I'll even be quiet when I do so.

  3. I would highly recommend this book...practical, inspiring and funny. Loretta helps you appreciate life!

  4. You will laugh out loud when you read this book. Loretta LaRoche tells it like it is.It's something I just couldn't put down. In fact, I've bought numerous copies to give as gifts!

  5. This is a humorous look at the shortness of life. The author identifies ten ways to lead an amazing life such as the importance of laughter and figuring out what it all means.

Her approach is that life is short and we should make the most of it. We all have different stresses to deal with. Our attitude about stress and how we deal with it will affect our health and overall life. We all need a reminder to stop taking things so seriously from time to time.
