  1. This is definitely a MUST READ for anyone starting a business, as well as those looking to raise capital. Being privileged to have worked in several different industries as a financial consultant, I thought I knew all there was to know or at least enough. BOY WAS I WRONG! My business partner and I just completed a business plan which in turn took six weeks of work. After reading the Business Plan Is Dead, I realized what was done in six weeks could have been done in three and been much more effective. This book has given me a different perspective and approach on writing a business plan. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK !!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Great framework for creating your business plan! Well written, easy to use, easy to reference and totally practical. Everyone needs to buy this book if you are going to or are currently writing a business plan.

5 comments about The Affirmation Web: A Believe in Yourself Adventure.
  1. My daughters self esteem had been low and this book helped her look at the positive good things about herself. Great confidence building tool to review all the good qualities that my child can find in herself.
Love all Lori Lites books. Recommend them highly.....

  2. First I will begin by listing the programs/CD's/books that I have purchased from Lite Books. 4 books: A Boy and a Bear, The Affirmation Web, A Boy and a Turtle and The Goodnight Caterpillar plus 5 audio CDs: Indigo Dreams, Indigo Ocean Dreams, Indigo Dreams: Garden of Wellness, Indigo Teen Dreams and Indigo Dreams: Adult Relaxation plus: Children's Stress Awareness Curriculum Designed for Youth Education.
Next I will say "THEY ARE ALL AMAZING!" For 9 years I worked as an advocate for children in a homeless shelter for women and children. I was constantly challenged with finding resources that were short, effective, and held the attention of the children. I was able to find resources but not all in one spot, I had to piece a little of this and a little of that to reach a fully rounded program that worked. The tools that Lori Lite created within each book and each CD offer short, highly effective programs that hold the attention of children. And best of all it is a package deal! You do not have to pull from any other program because the tools that she gives you are all you need. I am now an HHP and use the books and CD's when working with children of any age to simply give them powerful tools that they can use in daily life and hopefully carry into teen and adult hood. In my opinion Lite Books offer the best resources available to the health and wellness of children on the market. Within my own life I use the CD's as a nightly staple within the bedtime process of my children. They have not been able to stay awake long enough to finish even one of the stories on the CD yet. That is how relaxing the CD's are. For myself I have to stay sitting up when tucking them in and listening with them because if I get comfortable I am waking up in the middle of the night still in my kid's room! During daylight hours and when my children are well rested I have worked each session on the CD's with them from beginning to end. Now when they are feeling overwhelmed, frightened, angry etc... I will see them use the techniques they have learned through Loris programs, they move quickly from the negative feeling to a positive approach and positive result.
Lite Books offers professional and friendly customer service, with great shipping time. I am so grateful to have found this amazing resource and look forward to being one of their strongest professional advocates as well as personal customers!

  3. This book is appreciated by my son (5 Years) and me. However he is not very enthusiatic about this book or CD.

  4. I was quite disappointed in this book. The illustrations were not quality and the text was not engaging. My children read all the time and will re-read things constantly if they enjoy them. Not one of them picked up this book for a second read. To me, that is a true test of a good book.

  5. My daughter really loved this story. I'm looking to integrate this story in my Daisy troop.

5 comments about Wisdom of Listening.
  1. Wisdom of Listening is a real jewel of a book! Presenting proven techniques used by practitioners in the fields of psychology, clergy, and healthcare, this book offers many gold nuggets of advice the reader can use for better communication with others. I would recommend reading only one chapter at a time, then reflecting on its contents for a few days before reading more. Don't rush this book - the contents are too rich to race through.

We all have ears and they allow us to hear. This book goes far beyond the practical mechanisms of hearing and helps the reader to recognize the huge difference between 'hearing' and 'listening.' It guides the reader through various goals and results of listening well. The contributing authors describe techniques with simplicity and clarity. Those who begin to practice the skills outlined in this book can look forward to improved, more rewarding, and more meaningful communication with everyone in their lives. Thank you, Dr. Brady!

  2. What happens when someone listens deeply to us? How does being heard heal us?

This collection of essays offers inspired, practical ideas for increasing our listening capacity. Learning to listen with presence, awareness, and love takes begins with the cultivation of listening with our "whole being".

The Wisdom of Listening brings reflection on the profound practice of listening from the wise voices of Ram Dass, Joan Halifax, Fran Peavey, Kathleen Singh, Anne Simpkinson, and many others.

I am using the book in my holistic health college classes--it's proving invaluable for students from all majors, from business to nursing.

Brady has assembled a timely collection, encouraging us to learn to learn the art of hearing with the "ears of the heart."

  3. Each essay in this new book takes a new look at skillful Listening.

Perhaps you want to improve your ability to listen to yourself, others, or the earth? This collection reminds us to bring our awareness into the present moment and to attend to our own internal experiences. It's wonderful compliment to deepening one's meditation practice. Or as a guide to being in the natural world in with a new way of perceiving.

Brady has pulled together essays from some incredible writers, teachers, and thinkers. But their words are not hollow or dry--they vibrate with practical advice and inspiration to deepen our Listening abilities. It's listening wisdom that asks us to not only use our ears, but all of our senses.

Listening doesn't come naturally for some of us...we actually need to learn to do it. When my husband gave me the book, I was defensive at first. "What, you don't think I listen well?" But it's opened up my eyes (and ears! and heart!) and a lot of dialogue between us.

I've recommended the book at work, and plan on giving some for the holidays to family! It can only help us all to tune in more, feel less isolated, and enrich our relationships.

  4. Listening well is hard work. There is no immediate reward for doing it. In fact, the problem of listening well is that we will hear things we don't want to hear. Which is why we don't listen well in the first place. It may even be harder than dieting and exercising.

When we think of listening well, we think of listening to others. But how easy is it to apply those great listening skills to ourselves? I don't know about you, but when I embark on a challenging path of personal growth, I like to be inspired, enlightened, and informed. If I'm really lucky, I'll get all three in the same book. I hit the jack-pot with the Wisdom of Listening.

Because I have been specializing in couples therapy for 20 years, I think I know quite a bit about listening and communication. And then I got a little humbled when reading Mark Brady's thought-provoking book. Now I listen a little better and almost automatically begin to ask better questions. With better questions comes the potential for a better life. Not bad for an investment that costs less than two tickets to a bad movie.

  5. Listening meditation is an all too often overlooked approach to our Buddhist practices. It is so much more than merely an exercise in recreation. Mark Brady presents us with a brilliant book with skilled techniques on just how to master this unnoticed art form. This book goes far beyond some superficial act of just having the capacity to hear. This book is about being truly present in life, about living in love. When the mind settles into meditation, here the sense of self and conceptual mind evaporates. There is a space between thinking. Here is where true listening is rooted. Listening like that connects us to other people, and allows us to actually become who we have always been. Having no ideas, we are free to understand with our very being what another might need. That might be they don't need anything at all. Listening like this let's us see our own life as that of the Buddha Shakyamuni. For further reading on the practice of listening, I recommend another wonderful book published this time by the Tuttle Library of Enlightenment dubbed "Going Beyond Buddha: The Awakening Practice of Listening" by Zen master Dae Gak. The Wisdom of Listening seldom ever gets a break at my house, it's is one of those books I constantly read for insightful sound bites when I feel I might need some pointers. So buy this book, and find your ears of Avalokistvara bodhisattva. Enjoy.

5 comments about Surviving Saturn's Return: Overcoming the Most Tumultuous Time of Your Life.
  1. This book came to me at the perfect time, like a gift from the gods. My life was breaking apart and I couldn't figure out why everything seemed to be happening at the same time. A friend told me that I was in my Saturn Return, and I had no idea what she was talking about. But I googled it and found this book (and the author's website) and the chapter that pertains to me is DEAD ON. They talk about different issues that come up for women about to turn thirty, with respect to their date of birth. I never thought that this stuff was valid before. But it was really uncanny how exactly what they wrote was happening to me. (And how these have been life-long issues for me.) Also, the writing is really down to earth and it's full of really useful information. The reviwer "Satire" is way off. It's not syrupy at all. It's funny, actually, and chatty, like an Oprah show. I haven't read a lot of astrology books, but this is by far the best one I've ever read.

  2. This book changed my life! I can't believe the amount of insight the Saturn Return phenomenon can shed on this time in my life. I was blown away. Very funny and well-written. I am recommending this to all of my friends. I just dont understand why Amazon doesn't stock more of these books. My friend told me that they have to keep re-ordering so we have to wait?
Please order more of these so people can get this vital info asap!

  3. Very interesting, could explain a lot of things. Coincidence? I'm not quite sure but it's worth reading if you're into astrology. It did get boring before you get to read about your sign placement in Saturn but the sign description was interesting and in my case right on. Got boring after that and was hard to keep my attention. Still worth a look if you're around the age of 30, looking for some possible explanations for the difficult times you may be encountering, and if you're at least intrigued by astrology.

  4. I'd never heard of the "Saturn Return" before a friend gave me a copy of the author's other book, Fate of Your Date. A coupla months ago I'd just gotten out of a very, very bad relationship (thank god) and she wanted to lighten my load with a fun little guide to dating. But then I read up on the authors other projects on their website (Ivillage show, Elle magazine, etc.) and joined their Myspace page. Little did I know that I'd found the answer to all my suffering and angst over the past year. I turned 29 in October, and I'm right in the heart of my Saturn Return. Thank god for the Saturn Sisters and this empowering, life-affirming book. It explains why turning thirty isn't the end of the world, shows exactly how your birthday reveals your current experiences, and basically maps out your karma. It's totally all about knowing you're going thruogh the Saturn Return before you actually do. I have gotten the book for all my friends between 28 and 31, and everyone is relieved to know that they're not going crazy, they're just going through their Saturn Return.

  5. I thought the book was very informative and an easy read. It helps put things into perspective when your life feels out of control and is making no sense to you at the time..lol

5 comments about Caged In Chaos: A Dyspraxic Guide To Breaking Free.
  1. A great book listing numerous coping strategies through "how it was for me" situations. Often funny, but never patronising, this book deserves to be the subject market leader for a long time to come. The section on bullying is particularly thought provoking. If you want to know what goes on inside a dyspraxic mind this is what you need!

  2. Finally, a book that tells in simple terms what being Dyspraxic is all about. We have a beautiful 7 year old grandchild that is challenged by this condition. This book has given us wonderful ideas on how to make her life easier and help her along the way. This is a "must read" for families who have been touched by Dyspraxia.

  3. This book is fantastic. It's positive, witty and full of practiacal advice for people with dyspraxia and related disorders. It is intelligently and sensitively written. Reading a book by a fellow dyspraxic, who has come through more than most people is really uplifting. Ms Biggs is well informed about dyspraxia. The book is realistic but optimistic about what is is possible for a dyspraxic person to achieve. I congratulate Victoria Biggs.

  4. As the parent of a dyspraxic pre-teen, I have found that while there is an increasing amount of information available about dyspraxia (a.k.a. apraxia), there is not much out there about dyspraxia in older kids and young adults. Not only is "Caged in Chaos" just such a resource, but it provides an insider's point of view, as the author is dyspraxic herself (an extra star for that fact alone.)

In addition to providing many helfpul coping strategies, "Caged in Chaos" also reaffirms that "you are not alone." I lost count of the number of times that that the author mentioned experiences that my child is going through, too. As the general public is largely unfamiliar with dyspraxia, it is quite comforting to know that there are others out there that are sharing similar things.

  5. I highly recommend Caged in Chaos because it is a book on Dyspraxia like no other. There are many academic "how to's" regarding this often mis-understood disability, but not one on what it actually is like to be dyspraxic. I really loved the fact that this book gives readers a snapshot into the dyspraxic child's (or teenager's) world. Caged in Chaos sets itself apart from all other books on the subject. How can we really help those with dyspraxia if we don't know what it feels like to walk in their shoes? Also, author Victoria Biggs' light sense of humor is very refreshing. She's an amazing person -- and terrific role model for my dyspraxic son.

5 comments about Living Alone and Loving It: A Guide to Relishing the Solo Life.
  1. It was difficult to get into reading this book, since I had just finished reading "Single: The Art of Being Satisfied, Fulfilled, and Independent" by Judy Ford (which I highly recommend over this book). In my opinion, "Living Alone and Loving It" reads more like the author's autobiography of singleness than it does as a guide to actually "loving it". It's not as matter-of-fact and loveable as "Single" was. Barbara Feldon tends to get over-wordy where it isn't necessary, as if she was trying to write the great American novel when she wrote this. It is nice to read her book and know that you're not alone in your singleness, but this book was almost down-right boring.

  2. found the book more interesting to read as a biography of barbara feldon's life than as a self help get over the break up type of manual...there really isn't anything in the book that your friends won't tell you anyway! still - i'm glad i'm reading it.

  3. I am so grateful for this book and to Barbara Feldon to write it for us.
It prepared me for the holidays and how to plan for them so I could get through them. I am thankful that she helped me avoid pitfalls during vacations. And her clear and simple direction about designing my financial independence put me on the right track. Her wonderful hints how to have nice highlights with people with whom we interact all the time is making my daily life filled with kindness and friendly smiles. I still refer to her book all the time when I need to remind myself to be kind to myself and when the solo life gets rough sometimes. It is a must-have!

  4. I just started reading this book last night, then I started skimming it, and then I stopped reading it. This book seems to be written for and by a very wealthy and very bored person. Ms. Feldon seems to lack any real insight into the lives and circumstances of her readers, but instead appears to have used a thesaurus to translate her simple thoughts into what she calls a "guide".

  5. Ms. Feldon's book on living alone is based on her own experiences and reflects what she has learned through living alone and the advice she has been given and which she would give to a friend in the same circumstances. What she has to say can be a good starting point for coming to terms with the single life, especially for people who rather suddenly find themselves without a companion.

Not every word of this book will be of help to every single person who reads it. What Feldon does when trying to cope with loneliness and depression is not readily available to everyone, things like flying to the south of France or gathering one's friends around. However, the essence of the ideas is there for anyone to mold to their own purpose and purse strings.

Overall, one of Feldon's most important contributions is spreading the knowledge that there are other singles out there. Singleness is not a recognized condition in the world around us, except for the young set, many of whom have not yet married. Recognition of the aging of our population, although studied and reported, has not yet had an effect on marketing, access to social events, etc. With books like this, perhaps we will at last be counted.

5 comments about Astonish Yourself: 101 Experiments in the Philosophy of Everyday Life.
  1. This book is like propaganda for the existentially playful. If you are neither existentially inclined nor playful, this book will do nothing for you. If, however, you are both, you will like it a lot. If you have read and enjoyed Walker Percy, that will probably help.

This is not a self-help book. If you are odd, it will probably help to make you odder.

  2. This is a very strange book, but in the end, a useful one.

Experts of the mind and human behaviour have proposed that most of us carry on throughout our lives on automatic pilot. Because of habit, daily routine and repetition, we inadvertently create mental machinery to do our tasks without too much effort. As we grow older, too, our perceptions of the world have a tendency to dull, our opinions on matters political and otherwise refuse to see other perspectives, we are less inclined to learn new things, in other words, we become set in our ways. As the old saying goes: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". This text provides us with some absurd and interesting exercises designed to break down our mental machinery, shake up our preconceived notions of the world, our fixed ideas, and perhaps see the world from a clean slate. In some cases, as the title suggests, the outcomes can be astonishing.

For example, number 15, "Walk in the Dark". The duration should only be a few minutes and the effect is that uncomfortable sensation of disorientation. Interestingly, the world actually changes when we attempt to orient ourselves in pitch-black conditions. We cannot depend on the light and must use our other senses to move around. This exercise hones your other senses, changing your views on "reality" and pushes you to move into present time.

One of the exercises that I found most rewarding is number 67, "Watch someone Sleeping". Having been with my partner for some years now, I believed I knew everything about her from her eyebrows to that tiny mole on her left shoulder. Time and familiarity has a tendency to make one take for granted those things and people that we depend on the most. Watching her sleep, listening to her slow and rhythmic breathing, suddenly I perceive a kind of "innocence", a face that somehow appears different, more beautiful, much less familiar. I no longer take her for granted because I've seen her in a different way.

A more banal exercise, and one most of us have experienced at one point or another is number 77, "Listen to your own voice". More often than not, our response is, "That doesn't sound like me!" If you are not used to hearing yourself, it can be a dislocating experience, which is the point. The exercise tends to impose an objective point of view on us, hearing yourself as possibly others see or hear you. It breaks up our preconceived notions, providing a fresh look at "I".

As the author has stated, this book is about entertainment. These exercises can be fun, however, they also can shift your awareness slightly, creating astonishing feelings, seeing the world from different points of view.

To my way of thinking, this can only be worthwhile.

  3. This book is so strange and esoteric that it almost borders on the occult. It reminds me of the wonderful book, "The Secret Life of Plants" for it's "out thereness". I tried a few of the experiments and one that was like a revelation to me was the one about channel surfing AM radio late at night in the dark. People don't believe that there is more of a Art Bell-type world out there than previously thought. There are so many books on the market pretending to be relevant and informative, when basically they are trivia rehashed or made to appeal to Gen X and fringe/cutting edge pop culture. This one hits a home run because some of the experiments are actually very interesting.

  4. Is this book pretentious? Yeah, okay, I can see that. Maybe a little. But it doesn't matter.

This book makes me smile. When I'm feeling blah and down, especially on grey winter days that are so prevalent in New England, I run to my parents' house, take it out of my old bookcase, and fall into it, leaving the world for a bit. That said, it doesn't live with my other favorites at my apartment, a small selection consisting of only the books that have changed my life, made me stop breathing, turned the world on its head. It is, of course, not a novel, and difficult to compare in that sense.

But I do like it. It didn't really change my life, it isn't groundbreaking, but it is fantastic. Ideally, people should make their own collections of such thoughts, little silly ideas they can venture into when they're feeling a bit blah. But it's a jumping point. It brings you somewhere else. It isn't the say-all, be-all, but it lets you start your adventures into your own mind when you're feeling stuck.

  5. I actually dog-eared pages as I read for things I wanted to go back and try. I ended up with 41 bent pages and some memorable experiences.

"#94 Think about what other people are doing" was a favorite one as was "#22 Count to a thousand".

It is not life changing so much as simply life observing in a "stop and smell the roses" sort of way. I had fun reading it and think most people will be able to find something memorable if they actually try some of the experiments.

5 comments about Motivation to Move! Hypnosis Exercise Motivation.
  1. First, this is sold by Amazon NOT by a private reseller so I take issue with the handmade product. NO plastic seal on the case. The insert and label on the cd were printed with an injet printer... you can tell when the ink smears if slightly dampened. This is to be expected if I make my own cd but NOT from Amazon. Sad.
Content: Less than stellar. I loathe the repeated countdown ending with a snap of the fingers. I HATE THAT! Not relaxing. The speaker's voice is masculine with a slight affect like Sean Connery. Distracting.
NOT worth the extraordinarily high price.
Suggestion: Try Glenn Harrold's cd's instead.

  2. Surfing, viewing and clicking away at new products on Amazon one day, I'm not quite sure what led me to the 'Motivation to Move! Hypnosis Exercise Motivation' CD, but I will say this . . . I'm totally and completely glad I did and I'm sold on this product! No kidding!

I've listened to many a subliminal/hypnosis tape/CD's in my day and for the most part they all turned out to be full of more 'new age-ish' type music than anything else. Perhaps the 'subliminal message' was indeed there but it never seemed to sink in for me . . . that is until I purchased Trevor Scot's 'Motivation to Move! Hypnosis Exercise Motivation' CD.

I'm starting my third week today and it is absolutely amazing how my mindset has totally and completely changed regarding exercising! It wasn't a fact of 'not' wanting to exercise, it was a lack of motivation to initially start and more importantly stick with it once I started. However, it appears I honestly have not experienced that problem once since I started to listen to the 'Motivation to Move! Hypnosis Exercise Motivation' CD.

By the end of the first week of listening to the CD every night before I went to bed and following Trevor's instructions to the 'T', the following week I found myself rising on queue at 5am every morning. No forcing myself to get up, no grumbling when I did or convincing myself I could sneak in another hour of sleep, I truly wanted to get up and exercise!

Each day afterward was as if on queue I'd wakeup at 5am, jump out of bed and literally jump on the exercise equipment in my home and put in a good one to two hour workout before heading out the door to work later that morning.

It has been an amazing two-weeks so far and although Mr. Scot suggests that you listen to this CD for 21 days straight, preferably before you go to bed at night and as needed afterward, I plan to continually listen to the CD every night well past the 21 day suggestion because not only does it help me sleep better, but in the morning I'm raring to go and exercise and that's the exact results I was looking for when I purchased this CD.

In my opinion, for those who are honestly open-minded, accept and realize the truth that `no quick weight loss' diet is ever going to do the trick and sincerely are looking for something that will truly work and get you once and for all off the dreaded yo-yo rollercoaster diet dilemma and on to the only true proven weight loss method that actually works, i.e., exercising, the 'Motivation to Move! Hypnosis Exercise Motivation' CD would be a perfect place to start. I highly recommend following the instructions precisely and I honestly believe you'll experience the same results I am currently experiencing. By this CD and see for yourself!

  3. If there is a traditional hypnosis, I was very relaxed I think I fell a sleep. In order for it to work you have to listen everyday, which I have not,but i feel that if i did listen it would work.
    The Procrastenator

  4. I got this for both myself and my spouse. While I found it somewhat helpful my spouse said the voice was not soothing enough to work on them. My spouse has been under before so it maybe that I had no expectations or past experience to draw from. I found that I did sleep better and while I usually don't have a problem exercising anyway, I would say it helped to listen to it to prepare for the next day's routine.

  5. I have used the Motivation to Move hypnosis CD for a few weeks now, and am not noticing a change in my behavior. I will admit that I generally fall asleep before it's over, but my understanding is that the message should still get through. I have not been using it at other times of the day (for fear of falling asleep!), so I don't know if it would have a greater effect. At this point I would say it's great if you need to fall asleep, but for me, it doesn't seem to be helping me become more active.

5 comments about Do Less, Achieve More: Discover the Hidden Powers Giving In.
  1. I love this book. Have read it at least four times, usually on long flights above the ocean or across a country. Here are its five principal lessons:

    Desired outcome after reading:
Accomplish more by finding a better balance between effort and ease.

    1. Trade what you have for what you want
"At any moment, your life is completely full... You had twenty four hours yesterday, and I guarantee that you used every minute and second of it." To make your life today different than it was yesterday, you have to give up something to make room for activities that will bring you what you desire. "Often, the greater the reward, the larger the adjustment you will have to make in your life."

    2. Change your dreams, change your life
"Your dreams are like a movie projector reflecting your conscious and unconscious thoughts. If you want to know the quality of your life, examine the quality of your dreams." Do whatever you can to push your dreams to new levels: cut out pictures from magazines, imagine that you are (not will be, but are right now) wildly successful. Take long, imaginary rides in your yacht or Ferrari.

    3. Surrender, and see your destiny
Giving into destiny does not mean doing nothing. It means "accepting life as you find it. It means using your given ability, talent and strength to do all you can to bring about a better life for yourself and others." She believes destiny reveals itself in three stages: first, you are dissatisfied with life; next, you come to some dramatic turning point - be careful not to get stuck here, as many do; finally you recognize that no one can take away what is destined to be yours, and then you have much in common with other great men and woemn.

    4. Be willing not to survive
Once you turn to face the worst of all consequences, fear disappears. Death can actually become your protector. Once you accept death and turn to face it, daily stress and frustration drifts away. You gain the freedom to recognize what is truly important, rather than what you feel compelled to do.

    5. Put your mind at ease
"The only reality that exists for you is in your own mind." Grant yourself grace. You can choose to enjoy or dread your ride through life; this is a choice that happens in your mind, not in the world around you.

  2. --Not just about getting ahead in business, but about living a good and worthwhile life ... I was able to give this book a first reading in just a couple of sittings, but I know that I'll be returning to it again and again in months and years to come.

  3. The first story in this book is about a rainmaker who brings rain to a village that had been in a drought for five years. He evidently does this by putting himself in "harmony with the Divine." Later in this book, when asked how he discovered his destiny, the rainmaker replies that he asked the "universal Being to make clear his way".

So if you are the kind of person who thinks that one person meditating inside a tent can influence weather patterns, then I guess this would be a good book to read. However, if like me you are interested in reading a book with some useful and practical tips on balancing your time, then I doubt you will find anything of interest in this book.

  4. I bought this book a couple of years ago. Tried to start it severa times, it was always such a struggle.

Perhaps it was the gash in the cover of the book, but more likely it was that I wasn't ready for these wonderful teachings.

This afternoon I gave up. Put aside a couple of priority projects and wanted to read from a pile of important books I've been meaning to get to. Instead I picked up Do Less, Achhieve More, thinking I'd read for a few minutes again.

Once I let go of the struggle, the words flowed effortlessly and I saw answer to some of my largest challenges in life. I finished the book in 90 minutes without interuption.

I wish I could promise this experience to all who read. I cannont. But I can promise that there is much wisdom in this one.

  5. For years, I've quoted this author in my seminars: "When one is excessively busy, his heart is dead". There is no better source for understanding what to do about this common affliction than this small, powerful book. She guides the reader to finding the balance between grace, strength, and relaxation - the harmonious "rhythm of ease and effort". In finding this point of balance, the reader will discover a more peaceful path toward his or her destiny. The section "From Reacting to Restfully Controlling" is a valuable perspective on learning to respond, rather than react, a topic covered in my Intentional Living: Lessons from the Tree of Life.In addition, the Asian-inspired wisdom of surrendering to reveal your destiny, of doing less to achieve more, so well presented here, was the inspiration for my chapter "Being and Doing" in Letters to My Granddaughters; Insights and inspiration for a life journey.
