5 comments about Nothing Left Over.
- Reading Toinette Lippe is as comfortable as settling in for a cup of tea and a long chat with an old friend. You know the advice you are getting comes from a caring person with insight and realistic experience. Her writing is literary without being stuffy. The spiritual aspects of her shared thoughts glimmer from the pages, but you never sense any proselytizing. The essence of her style, it seems, is to instruct without preaching. She is always sensible, often whimsical, and as nurturing as a hug. A good read.
- I am and continue to be intrigued by the notion of simplicity. However, I find most writing on this subject to be unsatisfying. This book was no different. There is little doubt that Ms Lippe possesses a fair bit of insight on this subject. Her emphasis and insight on living in the moment strikes me as important and a powerful tool for living a simple life. This component of the work makes the book worth reading. Nonetheless, it seems to be that the path to simplicity is richly variable and person specific. Books such as these are moderately useful, mostly from the stand point of reminding us to look deeper within ourselves.
- This book offers far less than it promises. Mostly the author hands out platitudes, then tells us how _she_ does everything and how perfect that is. She name-drops continually. Eventually the whole exercise gets so annoying you will want to throw the book, and perhaps the author too, out the window.
- If you cannot embrace the basic tenets of Eastern philosophy, then you should not bother reading this book. If you're steeped in the concept of a self-directed purposeful life that reflects the tenets of Western culture, this book will probably have no resonance or utility for you and will make you very edgy to complete the slim tome and just get on with things. - LRM
- When have I ever been invited so completely into a writer's life? Could I be so candid? Are the things I have learned so worth sharing?
Toinette Lippe offers up to us the events and reflections of a life lived by choice and with attention. It is a spiritual book of the most subtle kind, steeped in wisdom and yet as familiar as if this life being described were our own. Granted, portions of Toinette's life may not seem so ordinary, but in the next paragraph she reveals her experience of those same questions and dilemmas that touch us all, followed by a level-headed approach to looking at the facts without flinching or fantasizing. If we should choose to heed Toinette's musings, NOTHING LEFT OVER is a delightful recipe for making our own life a life well-lived.

5 comments about Mastery of Abundant Living "The Key to Mastering the Law of Attraction".
- I am really impressed with the way that these two authors understand and share their knowledge of the law of attraction. This book is a must for anyone that wants to truly learn and experience true abundance in life.
I feel that I didn't really understand the true power of the universe until I learned to control it through this book. Now I can honestly say that my life is completely changed and will be forever changing because of the principles I have learned through this book.
- This book is a very well written concise explanation of a lot of core concepts regarding the law of attraction and life concepts in general. While the concepts are discussed in many books, this book - standing alone - would provide the spark and seed of thought to assist in a meaningful discovery and appreciation of the Laws of the Universe. It is an easy read with down to eart (or heavenly) discussions in terms we can all understand. The affirmations presented have been very helpful to me personally.
- ... or don't people think that matters any longer? I was so distracted by the frequency of errors in this book (wrong words, misspellings, terrible layout, fonts changing), I could barely get through a page without being annoyed. Even when I tried to "attract perfection", those errors kept right on coming. Sloppy editing reflects sloppy thinking, and it surely is insulting to readers. You can find far better books on this topic. Buy them.
- I read "Mastery of Abundant Living" on a flight from Chicago to Washington DC and began applying the techniques Tammy Lynch and Bruce Goldwell spelled out in the book from the moment I stepped off the plane. In fact, by using the "Law of Attraction," which I had literally learned on that 90 minute flight, my bag was the first to come off the belt in baggage claim, the public transportation to my hotel was free and my room was automatically upgraded to the top floor without a request and with no additional charges. I'm writing this review only a day later, so I can't say how it has changed my life, but I can't wait to see what happens!
- This is a book that everyone should have. The cover is intriguing enough but when you begin to read it, it will draw you in. I guess that is how the Law of Attraction works. . . Anyway, even if it doesn't call you now, it will eventually. And there it will be, right on your table waiting for you. You will feel empowered as a person as you read it. If you put it down for a while, you can always reread it and enjoy it as much as the first time you read it. What more would you want in a book?

5 comments about Life Was Never Meant To Be A Struggle.
- This is the second of Wilde's books that I have read. In The Quickening I thought that it was odd that the author would say on the one hand how unfair society was, yet later on, would state that the world was exactly as it should be and that you should not try to change it. O.K. I thought, perhaps he meant this in terms of this world being a testing ground for free will, where we refine our soul through suffering and struggling against injustice. However, this book makes it clear that the author totally rejects any benefit through trial and suffering. He emphasizes that the system is unfair, but that as a "superior spiritual person" you should wholeheartedly join in and get all that you can. He says that the weak and "whimps" get what they deserve, and that one shouldn't hesitate to use and discard them. As for Wilde's concept of flow, it appears to be little more than a callous attitude of "no problems, no worries- as long as I get mine." Wilde seems to offer nothing but a watered down version of old-fashion theosophy tailored to the business-minded sociopath who wants to feel better about himself. I should have known there was something seriously wrong here when the man expressed deep admiration for Genghis Khan....
- All of Stuart Wilde's books are excellent. This one is one of the BEST.
- I am pleased to say I had the good sense not to buy this book. Indeed, I'd never heard of this "author" until a friend indicated he'd read his work and felt he was a "Master." I looked Mr. Wilde up on the Internet and determined in less than one minute he is yet another charlatan taking advantage of people's desire for easy answers and assurance that they can have all they desire simply by wishing.
Mr. Wilde has written that the fossil record "proves" we "weren't here one day and we were here the next." I'm at a loss with regard to what sort of fossil record he is referring to, but, clearly, the man has a child's grasp of science. He also suggests that most of the earth's human population will soon "dematerialize" and go to another planet, leaving only a handful of humans and all animals to "clean" the earth.
His best comment goes like this (quoted verbatim): "I have a dear friend that is a true skeptic, he believes in nothing. I told him I could show him how to dematerialize and that I'd done it for people seventy times before without failure. He said he'd have to see it to believe it. I waited for a bit then I decided not to show him as dematerialization by its very nature requires you to `not see' what it is that you don't believe in, so I thought the effort was pointless."
If that doesn't say it all, I am not sure what would! And if anyone can read that and still buy anything penned by Mr. Wilde, I can only wish I could "dematerialize" and go to a planet inhabited by reasonable beings!
- First off, I'd like to address most of the reviews here as laughable. Particularly the reviews from those bashing a book that's 50 pages long and disappointed that the solution to wonder hunger, famine, AIDS, and cancer isn't in a book of this size. Really now? At any rate. I've ACTUALLY READ the book and have come to a few conclusions about it. First, it is not a book that is going to change your life. I've found the nature of a lot of self-help/inspirational books is that you take a bit from everyone you read and begin to apply it to your life. Bashing a 50 page book for not being "deep enough" or "wonderfully insightful" is childish. That's not what Wilde is trying to do with this book. Wilde is trying to get the reader to question his or her basic assumptions about the world and to identify what areas of life they are struggling in. While Wilde's solutions aren't as in-depth as I would like, I realize at the same time that that's the entire point of this book. It's not meant to be one of those door-stoppers that is 400/500 pages long and breaks down problems chapter by chapter. Those books are nice to an extent, but books like these are exactly what I need sometimes when I don't feel like re-reading the more extensive books out there. Sometimes, I just need a quick reminder on an idea I read long ago or a quick reminder on how to identify/change some stressful areas in my life. I think in this sense, people are disappointed because they expect too much out of a book that barely cracks 45 pages.
Don't expect too much. Read this book for what it is - a nice, affordable, and well-written book that should serve as review material for a lot of people who can learn things from this book. For the cost of $4-5 with shipping, what have you really got to lose?
-Travis
- Stuart Wilde, once again, gave me more to ponder.
I love his straight-forwardness and his words ring
the truth in myself.

5 comments about Unlimited Power.
- Once again this is a GREAT companion to the text of this book that keeps refreshing you every time you listen. We usually forget many things after we read, so CD programs like "Unlimited Power" remind us through repetition. Anthony Robbins products are a pleasure and push for positive life changes.
- Tony Robbins is full of good information. He teaches you how to take a normal life, and make it an extraordinary life. I give this book 5 stars!
- I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book "Unlimited Power". I am reading the book again and I have already successfully used some of the concepts and ideas. This certainly is not a book that you read just once but the insightful and useful information needs to be read again and again until it really sticks. In fact, one benefits a lot by practising what is being suggested say for 3 -4 weeks and see the results for yourself. Then maintain the new useful habit.
Anthony Robbins encapsulates the best personal development strategies and combines it with NLP to create quick change. This book will improve your entire life from reaching goals to rapport with others. "Unlimited Power" gives the utmost concepts on achievement, given by a very successful author, in a clear and easy to understand and follow style. I was very impressed with the ideas and information contained inside it which are very practical and powerful.
However, the book can only provide guidance and it's up to the reader to put into practice the advice and wisdom of this motivational guru.
It is overall an interesting book to read. This book is recommended as it has the potential to highly motivate, stimulate and help you focus your mind on meeting your goals.
- If you like to listen to a quick information and inspirational, I mean literally quick. This CD is for you! If you like a detail and deep substance materials, you won't like this CD.
First of all, there is only 1 CD in the package, it is hard to try to put a lot of information in 1 CD.
I think, the Unlimited Power 6 tapes/ CDS series that is released by Nightingale Conant company is a lot better than the one that Simons and Schuster. It is too short and Anthony Robbins didn't really go into details on how to apply what he is talking about on this CD.
I still think, Anthony Robbins is a great motivational speaker! He is awesome! He has stories that you and I can relate to.
About this CD, I guess the price is right, the simons and schuster series is a lot cheaper than the Nightingale Conant one. So if you want the generic and cheap version of this CD, buy the Simons and Schuster one.
- Tony is hugely sucessful but he's like a tool salesman with no real accomplishmet to show for his tools.
Its as if he were marketing a "new and improved" monkey wrench and his "proof" that it works is that he sold a lot of them. But none of his customers, no matter how enthusiastic, can measurably prove that its any better than the wrench they already have.
There is nothing in this work that one would not ordinarily acquire though common sense, an elementary school education and some life experience. Don't buy this, you have enough junk in your "toolbox" already!

5 comments about The 7 Keys to a Dream Job: A Career Nirvana Playbook!.
- I recently was laid off from a major company in the Silicon Valley. I have over 20 years' experience in a variety of industries and have been successful in different roles at senior management levels. I did not realize that this would pose a problem for me when I started going after jobs that seem to fit my background and interests. In most cases I did not even get a call-back, even though I knew that there was a good match and that I could do a great job in the position. After many months of such frustrating experiences, I came across Dilip Saraf's The 7 Keys to a Dream Job: A Career Nirvana Playbook! For me the book's message immediately resonated because it clearly showed how a backward looking resume can limit the power of your message if you want to leverage your past. The book pioneers a great concept of discovering your genius and then using that as a centerpiece of your value proposition. Once I understood that concept I got excited about changing my resume based on my genius and then building my value message with that focus. Although I have a varied background, this concept of showcasing my value around my genius (Unique Skills) allowed me to integrate all my diverse background and showcase my specific value as a highly focused ("laser") value proposition. Voila! That was the break I needed. As soon as I went out with my new resume, I got almost immediate responses that were exciting. I am now interviewing with the companies of my choosing and selectively going after the opportunities that I am interested in. What a difference! I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially for those mid-career professionals who are tempted to bury their past and shortchange themselves during critical career transitions. This book taught me an important life skill and gave my confidence back!
- After many years in one function in large corporations I was looking to make a career change, as well as a change in company. A "double whammy" as people called it! However, I wanted to reinvent myself and break into a new and emerging area that excited me.
The first step was to create a resume. I did this with the help of advisors from placement firms, and had it reviewed by senior managers in the field I wanted to get into. They told me it was a well written resume. I posted my resume on several job boards anticipating immediate responses. Weeks and months went by, but I did not get any calls in response to my postings.
It seemed that the traditional way of creating a resume kept frustrating my efforts to present myself differently. This was due to the fact that my job history did not directly support what I wanted to do in the future, although my unofficial role provided my with the experience in the area I wanted to pursue.
A close friend suggested that I read Dilip Saraf's The 7 Keys to a Dream Job. Once I understood the book's message, I realized what I had been doing wrong for the past two years. Using the ideas, tools, and the examples in the book, I completely redid my resume.
For me the breakthrough was how the book shows ways of doing ones resume, which is forward looking and is based on one's inner voice (one's genius). With a few coaching sessions from the author, and by using the many examples in the book I was able to redo my resume and confidently portray my skills to align with my new goals.
Almost immediately I began to get enthusiastic responses and interviews; something I did not get for over two years! I wish that I had read the book earlier and saved myself all the learning that took too long.
Thank you for a great book. It is inspiring!
- After many years of growing and managing a successful marketing consulting business, I decided to change gears in late 2004 and return to my corporate roots. The impact of the economic tsunami that hit Silicon Valley - and particularly the high-tech industry a few years back - did not affect me until I started my search for a corporate position. While I knew from my clients that profound changes had occurred in the job market since I last worked on the corporate side, I was unprepared for the cold reception I received initially. After all, I told myself, I am an experienced marketing executive with a shelf full of awards and a portfolio of exceptional work.
Then I came across Dilip Saraf's book, The 7 Keys to a Dream Job. After reading it, I quickly realized that I needed to create a forward looking message that clearly articulates "my genius" (Mr. Saraf's words, not mine) in ways that intrigue hiring managers enough to call for interviews.
The book contains many examples that helped me fashion my message. Despite the fact that I can market high technology successfully without breaking a sweat, I was like the proverbial cobbler's children when it came to marketing me - until I experienced an insightful breakthrough from reading the book.
I refashioned my resume to resonate with hiring managers, and the responses were immediate and substantial. Within six weeks, I had three offers. I now have a full-time job in an industry that I love with company that needs and appreciates "my genius". The bonus from the process is that I discovered my genius and learned how to articulate it to make a difference in how others see me. At this stage of my life, I needed that perspective. So thanks to Mr. Saraf for this gift of self-discovery and for teaching me how to build a compelling value proposition around it.
- There are very few handy guides for senior executives that can provide the needed help in their transitions. I am making a major transition in my own career now that needed very specific guidance and battle-tested scripts. I found that resource in Dilip Saraf's The 7 Keys to a Dream Job. The book lays out some foundational material that I found invaluable. It is this material that helped me achieve a breakthrough positioning and attain a transitional momentum that I found rewarding. The book warns of many pitfalls in managing an effective campaign, and if I had not read and taken that part to heart early on, I would have missed out on the multiple offers that came through in a very short order.
The book is rich with advice that is very practical for every stage of the campaign and is often counterintuitive in today's upended job market. Although the work is hard, the rewards make it really worthwhile. This is a life skill. Thanks for a great book!
- As much of a panacea as the numereous cures for baldness! The cover is flashy and dramatic but the contents and title are deja vu and the publishing sub-par. To be fair the book is fairly comprehensive and does focus on a few key areas: the résumé as a marketing tool, filling the pipeline and your unconscious competence (what the author misleadingly terms "your genius" or "Unique Skills"). However, there are numerous books that equally convincingly discourage the use of a résumé in a tough job market. People desparately looking for work will try anything! And so there are a lot of charlatans in the unregulated career coach business. So I don't understand how everyone else gave the book 5 stars - perhaps the author coached them privately into doing it or they just coincidently found a job or got an interview after reading the book and attributed it to the book. When all is said and done finding a job is mostly a function of supply and demand. In a tight labor market and with rampant high-tech outsourcing if you don't have exactly what an employer wants or are unable to prove it you don't get the job even if your résumé shines like the sun because there are plenty of people out of work and plenty of engineers in China and India for a fraction of the cost. I would read this book if available free in the library or get a cheap PDF copy from the author's website (www.7keys.org). But don't expect to do everything it says and expect to find a job in 90 days - instead take it with a pinch of common salt.

3 comments about If I Live to be 100.
- Though Ellis intended to write about the centenarians' memories of the past, she found that these insightful and wise men and women preferred to talk about the present and the future. Their words contain the formula for living well. This is a must-read for anyone who wishes to live fully or wishes to become a better journalist.
- If you are an NPR fan you probably recall the Neenah Ellis series on centenarians, and if you liked that then you'll love this audio book. (You can listen to samples at NPR or the "If I Live to Be 100" website.) You won't find many tips on how to cope with aging except for possibly the most important clue - there are no 100-year-old pessimists. This is mostly a "slice of life" study of several people at or above 100 years old, with intriguing glimpses into the author's own life and interview process. The parts that really came alive for me were the centenarians speaking of how life was different "in the old days". I listened to this in the car over several days, and often sat at my destination with the car running because I didn't want to stop listening. After enjoying this audio version, check out the book's website for photos of the people interviewed.
- I have decided which of these beautiful people I want to be when I turn 100.
