5 comments about Coming Face to Face with Your "Inner ME".
- Coming Face to Face with Your "Inner ME" is a deeply moving book that engages the reader to be part of the book rather than just an observing audience. Anyone who has been wounded or is seeking the road to inner peace will recognize him or herself in the book and will feel a personal connection with the author.
I felt the author's pain as I equated the parallels in my life. It was as if I was making the journey alongside him. The ideas conveyed in the book are explicit yet mind blowing. Their profound meanings penetrate one's rational, emotional and spiritual being. I'm thankful for the author's generosity in sharing his wisdom and pain, as countless people will be ushered by his work to a more fulfilling life. This is a truly inspirational writing about dignified human triumph over life's great tragedies.
- Hassan El-Amin makes use of the ultimate case study, his life. The result, a blueprint for self-knowledge and self discovery. The author's notion of the Inner Child and how it influences our adult lives is very compelling. The author's words like a key began to unlock and open the door to my own journey of self-discovery. The book is formatted and edited for an easy read, without all the typical "bells and whistles" associated with other books in this genre.
- I have read many books on growing up as child of an alcoholic and the dysfunction that goes along with this chldhood trauma. Usually I can not put the books down. I found this book to be just another story of an abusive family life. It was not informative and could no keep my interest. I was very disappointed.
- Never have I read a book so touching and revealing. Coming Face to Face with Your Inner Me gave me a rare opportunity to journey through the mind of a child of an alcoholic and in the process helped me understand why facing our past is essential for our spiritual growth. The writers journey not only takes you into his past but helps you discover the injured innocence thats inside us all. You dont have to be a child of an alcoholic to understand and relate to his struggles and final triumph. This is as much a book about discovering our humanity in the midst of pain and hardship as it is about healing our broken heart and nourishing our soul. I highly recommend this book and thank the author for having the courage to write such an incredible book.
- Hassan El-Amin opens the book with an extraordinary chapter on the description of our inner child. This inner child can either be nutured or neglected and manifests itself subconciously throughout our lives via our thoughts and our actions.
This is truly the seed of self discovery, the first square for everyone who is ready, willing and able to embark on the journey of self actualization. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have my eyes opened for the very first time, to explore and nuture my inner child.

1 comments about Radical Self-Acceptance.
- I Needed to read this book. It is basically about the process of freeing yourself from your Mother to become your own person. I never realized the depth of the connection most of us have to Mother. The book makes a compelling argument on change and self-love. The appendix is a handy guide as well. This is not your typical self-help book. The answers are not obvious and they are rooted in real spiritual and psychological insight. If you like Carl ROgers, Thomas Moore and M. Scott Peck you will appreciate this.

2 comments about Dignity Rocks!: I Feel Like Nobody When... I Feel Like Somebody When.
- As a teacher in the San Jose public schools, Stephanie Heuer had the inspiration to ask her students to complete the sentences, "I feel like a nobody when ..." and "I feel like a somebody when ..." What her students (typically third graders) wrote will astonish you and move you, and if you're like me, remind you of what indignity and dignity feel like. Shame and humiliation have no place in our schools, and Ms. Heuer's inspired exercise helped her students understand that. What's more, they learned it in the best possible way: from each other. Now her work is spreading across America and around the world. This book is worth its weight in gold--the "color" of our priceless human dignity.
- Stephanie Heuer has brought together a language for leaders to stop, read, seek to understand, be proactive and discuss with others and strive to develop strategies to make change for children and their development. These children voice their life experiences in this book and share their most intimate thoughts about people that influence and support them. - AMAZING!
No child should live a shame-based life..."I feel like nobody when". Every child should be allowed to "feel like somebody when" - always! Kudos to Stephanie for the miles, trials and success that have occured and will come from nature and intent of this book. Lori Harris - Acorn Development

1 comments about My Mother Worked/I Turned Out.
- This book uses positive anecdotes to ensure women that being a working mom is fine. I bought this book when I went back to work after having my first child. It seems that new moms are wrapped up in guilt on going back to work; however in today's society, the reality is that in most partnerships, both mom and dad end up working just to make ends meet.
This book will give you a little extra boost to let you know that working will not be detrimental to your child. Love your child and be ensured that your child will benefit, whether you work or not.

2 comments about FatherEffects.
- Shari Jonas writes a profound book on how fathers can shape the path and dictate the men their daughters marry. If you want to be warry of this important correlation and 'decide for yourself' you need to read this book. It may save your life path and educate you in the way of father daughter psychology.
- I never understood alot of things about my dad or why he acted the way he did, or even how it really affected me until I read this book! I was the most eye-openning book I've read in a very long time! I know understand why I chose the men I did in dating, and why they all were basically the same person until this book! I also realized why i had so many "issues" and that they rooted from my childhood with my dad! I recommend this book to EVERY daughter of EVERY age! It's an excellent book, it kept me in tears from the beginning to the end!

1 comments about Believe in Yourself: A Key to Life Guided Journal (Guided Journals).
- I own several of the Peter Pauper Press Guided Journals, and love them all. This is no exception - it's a sturdy spiral-bound hardcover, with a cutout "frame" on the front cover that opens onto the full color inside page, which is a painting of a flowering tree. This journal is actually thicker than some of their later journals - 160 pages. The lined paper inside the journal is a good quality, a cream color that is thick enough so that you can't see your writing showing through on the other side. A small tree is printed at the top of each page. Like all of the guided journals, this one has quotes inset on every other page, though this journal doesn't list sources for each quote. Here are two of my favorites: "Don't wait for your world to change. Change it yourself." ... "Taking charge of your life takes time - and a bit of faith and courage."
