1 comments about Mind Changing Short Stories & Metaphors: For Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy & NLP.
- 1. The Burden. A story that shows that when we are overburdened, stressed or abused, we have to break away from the situation to find our true place in life, ideally without violence.
2. The Black Pit. Depression often goes with being stuck in the poor circumstances that arise when hope evaporates. The important thing to do is to look into the future.
3. The Profiteer. Greed often changes a person into something that is highly undesirable. When men go in the search of profit at the expense of others, they can find that the tragedy of others can hit back.
4. Quicksand. Life can present precarious options. The way to be safe is to avoid the pitfalls that can be offered as pleasures such as bad relationships, drugs or jobs without prospects. Be confident enough to make the right decisions. Take those chances that offer benefit and steer clear of those that offer jeopardy.
5. The Swing. Sometimes we need to encourage others to take responsibility for their own achievements through their own efforts. Sometimes helping too much turns to hurt the giver. Be self-assured. Do what you are able to do to help others but without damaging yourself.
6. The Magic Carpet. The fear of flying is very often the result of negative associations with emotional turmoil rather than with a flight.
7. The Bonfire. Memories may be attached to objects but never contained by them in such a way that they are destroyed if the object is lost. Reminiscences are held by our minds instead. We never throw those away unless we want, and need, to.
8. Breath. The Latin word for breath is the same as the word for Spirit, as is the Hindi word `prana' and the Chinese word `chi'. Perhaps we have known the connection between breathing and calmness and a peaceful soul a very long time but have failed to recognise the clues!
9. Sewer Rats. Compare the lungs and blood vessels with sewer systems and the dirty things that live there. Clean air and water help to prevent the bad things that thrive on filth like tobacco smoke and fat.
10. Taming the Wild River. This story is a fairly lightly disguised metaphor about IBS. Relaxation and visualisation are major tools in coping with it. The comparison made is between a violent river flowing to an explosive end and a more peaceful flow that is controlled and less physically disruptive.
11. The Corporate Wife. When people devote too much time to making careers and money, they can lose the more valuable things in their lives. When the axe finally falls, those people can return to a home full of strangers.
12. The Two Fires.Everybody has quarrels from time to time. They are about reaching warm understanding as two opinions are moulded into an agreement. However, when quarrels turn to angry rows, the outcome can be so destructive that lives are ruined.
13. The Problem With Heirlooms. When people bring their own problems into the lives of others, then the recipient needs to know how to stop being negatively affected. Just because a parent has had bad experiences, it never means that those things will be replicated. We must live our lives as the main player, not as a support act.
14. A Whale of a Time. Every so often we need to dump our personal, emotional rubbish. We need to take a deep breath and get on with our lives in a clean and fresh way.
15. The Medium is the Message. Sometimes too much information can be dangerous. At other times it is good to know where truth should sit.
16. The Feral Cat. How things can go wild.
17. Talking to the Little Guys. Our whole system is loyal. It will do whatever we ask it, whether it is beneficial or not. The little loyal guys in our heads are our best friends but can be our worst enemies.
18. Stabilisers. Gaining independence and freedom requires calculated risks rather than foolish ones.
19. Stag Man. The old stag is always beaten by a younger challenger, sooner or later.
20. Dry Ice. Using alcohol and drugs to camouflage and disguise situations never gets rid of memories, they only increase the damage.
21. Ticks on the Head.Removing the irritating emotional parasites that live on us.
22. The Queue at the Post Office. A little patience saves more than time when getting irritated and storming out, then coming back later when there is no queue.
23. Where's the Prophet in That? Our demand for celebrity.
24. The Soccer Team When we spend our time saving problems from happening we get little credit. When we appear to be only interested in seeking glory through attack we can miss our goals. To be on the winning team we need to keep a balance between the two. Preventing problems and, at the same time, looking for opportunities to score is the best way to move forward.
25. Eating and Drinking. When you eat quickly and without regard for what you are consuming, you will eat more. And when you eat without thinking, you can never value what you have on your plate.
26. Cavemen on the Beach. It seems that when we go on holiday we change. It is as if we travel back in time by 50000 years to revert to the gentler creature that lives inside us when not under threat.
27. The Metaphor of Life and Death. We have ideas about eternity and Heaven but none of really knows what it is like. I guess we will either be ecstatic when our time comes or we will know nothing afterwards if we are unlucky.
28. Introduction to "Fantasies and Dreams. The tracks from the audio recording "Fantasies and Dreams".
29. Autumn Leaves.
30. Summerhouse Hill.
31. Palace of Dreams.
32. Island.
33. The Park.
34. Planet.
35. Landscape Painting.
36. River Bank.
37. Shape Shifting. An interactive relaxation story.
38. Postscript: A Lecture from a Modern Shaman.

4 comments about Protected By The Light: The Complete Book Of Psychic Self-Defense.
- It's said that every day we are exposed to psychic attacks. The incoming negativity can contribute to illnesses, accidents, and all sorts of "bad luck". If you have felt loss of strength and energy, depression, dullness of the mind and senses, pains in your body, quick temper, loss of appetite.... you might have experienced a psychic attack.
Dr. Bruce Goldberg explains how the vast majority of psychic attacks come from general negativity in the universe (such as from news stories and advertisements), and the next most common cause of psychic attack (about 7%) is from discarnate entities, or ghosts. About 3% of psychic attacks are intentionally caused by people, and less than 1% is attributable to demonic entities. Dr. Goldberg believes that all suicides are the result of psychic attacks. Fortunately, there are things we can do to protect ourselves and those we love from this barrage of negativity! Just as we can keep our skin clean and strong to defend our physical body from bacterial infection, Goldberg asserts that we can prevent the piercing of our aura using the techniques he outlines in this book. There is one chapter containing basic techniques and another with advanced techniques for psychic self-defense. Dr. Goldberg's experience with 11,000 hypnotherapy clients over 24 years led to his writing this book -- which is the most thorough treatment of the subject of psychic self-defense I've ever seen. This book is useful for anyone interested in maintaining their health and sanity as they expand their psychic awareness... or anyone interested in a deeper understanding of what's going on. I highly recommend this book!
- Complete and utter fru fru. His best recommendation is to self hypnotise and gain your healing light.
Get Robert Bruces book much better. GeoMutter
- I expected a bit more but I admit my expectations were a bit high given that the author is a psychologist. If you're very new to psychic protection you might get some benefit but you're probably better off with another psychic shielding book. That being said, there were a few good points and perspectives and the book uses actual case-histories to make it's point which I always find interesting. If you find a cheap copy somewhere and you have the cash handy it might not be a bad read but don't lose any sleep over it. This IS a "new age fru fru" type of book. If you're looking for clinical stuff this is not what you want.
- This book was very insightful into the many forms of psychic attack. When I first saw the title I assumed it was about witchcraft and black magic, but quite the contrary. As far as Dr. Goldbergs techniques, I can attest to their helpfullness first hand as I am a patient of his and I can only say I have never felt better. Forget about the skepticism you read or may believe, his techniques simply work.

5 comments about Master The Power Of Self-Hypnosis: Program Your Subconscious To Attain Health, Wealth & Happiness.
- This book is poor quality and fundamentally misleading in places. There is nothing of value here which you can't get on the net for free. Just do a search for "Self-Hypnosis Scripts" If I taught my clients how to do self-hypnosis in this way I doubt if they would have much success. All the stuff about Alpha and Beta brainwaves is just an intellectual red-herring and tells you nothing practical about the attitudes of mind which facilitate trance induction. Hunter's style and his techniques are straight out of last century. If you read some of the old books you'll be surprised how little he has added. He provides very basic information and scripts for eye-fixation and progressive relaxation inductions but no real guidelines on how to make them more effective. He does not address the typical obstacles which, e.g., self-hypnosis groups tend to encounter and overcome. He doesn't provide adequate advice for clients who report that they have difficulty physically relaxing, or who feel excessively aware and analytic of the experience. This book provides about half the story of self-hypnosis and its the half which most people know already, or which they could find on the net or in any number of other books on the pop-psychology bookshelf.
Don.
- very poor, i do not believe some body could tell things that everybody knows, waste of money.
- Book was delivered very fast.
This book details self hypnosis in an easy readable format.
- . The book instructs the reader on how to use self-hypnosis to change areas of his or her life that they would like to change.
I need to tell the reader that I have met Mr, Hunter several times and have attended several workshops that he conducted. I have also read all of his books. Mr. Hunter is responsible for inspiring me to be the best Hypnotherapist I can be. I also feel that I have had the best training from Mr. Hunter that I have had in all of my hypnosis training.
The first part of the book educates the reader on the history and basic facts of hypnosis. The second part of the book informs the reader of the role of the Subconscious and how to program it. This part of the book also describes stress management. Part three describes the process of defining your goals for self-hypnosis and the process of putting them to work with self-hypnosis. Part four describes creative daydreaming, Part five describes how to inject power into your self=hypnosis.
The book ends with a set of questions and answers about self-hypnosis and a glossery of hypnosis term. Finally, Mr. Hunter a;sp provides some self-hypnoosis scripts and affirmations..
This book is well written and in my opinion is the best book of self-hypnosis available. It is clearly written and Mr. Hunter gets his point across clearly on all subjects. My only complaint is that Mr. HUnter is too modest. He attributes his skills to his mentor, Charles Tebbits. Mr. Tibbets was a great hypnotist and is one of the pioneers of modern hypnotism. Mr. Hunter studied under Mr. Tebbits but I believe that Mr. Hunter has taken what he learned from Mr Tibbets about the art of self-hypnosis and taken it to new heights. I reccommend this book to anyone who is serious about making real changes in their life.
- Mr. Hunter is associated with Tacoma Community College here in Washington State. He provides in person instruction but also Video based instruction that can provide the necessary contact hours for full fledged Certification by Hypnotherapy certification bodies.

- I received this book as a gift. I don't own a horse, never have, so I was puzzled by the gift. Ms. King's book was an informative, yet easily understandable read. I gained insights into what holds us back from winning and the importance letting go of unwanted "noise." I would recommend this book to ANY ATHLETE or ANY person wanting to acheive their best, not just those in the equestrian world.
- The Power to Win Book helped change my way of thinking and focusing better in life and riding. The book was full of great information for myself a horseback rider or for anyone in general involved in sports. I would reccomend this book to anyone who would like to understand sports in general especially horse back riding more easily. It was a great book.

5 comments about Your Power to Heal! Healing through Hypnosis.
- i felt stricken with allergies and chronic fatigue and am now revived. Trevor's cd makes me feel like getting out of bed and chasing the day!
- Short hypnosis session excellent for the time-challenged individual; may be used on a daily basis for stress reduction. Also recommend Deepak Chopra's "The Soul of Healing Meditations."
- The "Your Power to Heal!" guided hypnosis CD offers a useful way to release stress and support your body's healing. I recommend it.
The recording guides you into deep relaxation and opens you to suggestions for improvement. Then it offers affirmations to reduce your stress level, strengthen your immune system, speed your body's healing, and to maintain a positive attitude.
Trevor Scott has a medium pitched voice, leaning towards high-pitched but not annoyingly so. Mild instrumental music is throughout most of the recording. The music is calming, and at a reasonable volume.
Further details:
Trevor begins with a short introduction and instructions on how to use the CD. Then he guides you to lie down and relax with closed eyes, take deep breaths, and release all tension. Trevor has you visualize a calming energy as a color of your choice, that works its way up your body, relaxing all your muscles. He repeatedly counts down, guiding you into deeper and deeper relaxation. You have plenty of time to get into a relaxed state of hypnosis. Trevor guides you to be very open to positive, permanent suggestions for self-improvement.
About 15 minutes into the CD, Trevor has you visualize entering an elevator and pressing a lower button labeled "control room". Then he has you enter this control room from where all the functions of your body and mind are managed. He has you turn off a switch labeled "stress and anxiety" and lock it into the off position. Trevor then has you turn up dials labeled "immune system" and "positive attitude" to their maximum level. After each switch or dial change, he offers several positive affirmations that support each change.
Examples of affirmations on the CD:
Your body heals itself faster than ever before. New healthy cells are being born at this very moment. You are strong and energetic. You're going to be very pleased with how quickly your body is healing. You're extremely energetic. You're feeling great. You approach life with a new confidence. You're taking control of your life. You're taking control of your body. You're happy. You are healthy. You are successful. Your body is healthy. You're living life to its' fullest. You have that kind of peace that can only come from within. You choose good health. You choose success. You've strengthened your immune system. You've lowered your stress level. You are committed to success in every area of your life. You are in control of your body, mind, attitudes, and emotions.
Trevor also offers you the opportunity to improve a part of yourself that you choose:
"Once again, look around your control room. If there's anything you would like to change, anything you would like to adjust, do it now."
At the end, he guides you to awake by counting from one to five. He states that you will awake only if it is not your time to sleep. Total run time for the CD is 32 minutes.
If the CD excerpts that I've listed are to your liking, I think that you will be quite happy with the product.
- I absolutely can't recommend this enough!!!
I have suffered from migraine headaches for over 25 years with a frequency of 4 to 5 headaches per week. After listening to Trevor's CD for only a week, I became pain free. I honestly feel as though I underwent a total transformation. The relaxation techniques really work. I had so much tension that my neck was in constant pain and consequently it triggered a migraine. Now I no longer dread the day. If you suffer from migraines or tension headaches give this CD a try. You won't regret it. It also is a great tool to help you fall asleep. Just be receptive and enjoy the relaxation. I never go to bed without it.
Thank you Trevor, you really changed my life.
- Your Power to Heal by Trevor Scott was a big disappointment. The author intermittently uses a clicker which makes me jump every time and takes me right out of being relaxed, this sort of defeats the purpose. He takes you to a control room to turn up or lock levels on stress or what ever you care to envision. Unfortunately he does not leave much time to envision adjusting what you choose before moving on with his talking. He also says to turn up a switch. Switches go up and down; you can't increase anything on a flip switch. He should have said dial or lever because this just makes it more difficult to envision. Over all I find this CD not worth the money.

2 comments about Recreating Your Self: Building Self-Esteem Through Imaging and Self-Hypnosis.
- This is an excellent resource for learning self-hynosis and for persons struggling with dissociation. It is clear, well organized and the hypnotic inductions can be modified/customized to work best for you. The goal is on better functioning and empowerment rather than just labeling. She takes rather complex psychological theory and makes it accessible and useable for a non-professional audience.
- I borrowed this book from a library for years, and once I moved I had to have it. It has so many great ideas and ways to visualize your future. It has helped me beyond measure.

- Glenn Harold's recording is effective. The music/recording methods generally help the hypnotic process, but sometimes the sound effects are a little overdone and can be distracting.
- I enjoy all of Glenn Harrold cds that I have purchased and this is no different. His voice is most soothing, helping you to reach a true meditative state of relaxation.
- I am a great advocate of Glen Harolds hypnosis CD's and own most of them. I find his voice very calming (he has an English accent but this should not be an issue for anyone). He does an excellent job in this CD.
