  1. I am buying this for my Teen daughter, this is the second time I have purchased this. This material is a great way for kids, from about preteen to adult to learn the beginnings self-examination in a non-threating way. The Book and Journal are so beautiful, opening it up becomes an experince that led the last child I gave it to to develop a ritual into futher journal writing. He kept it by his bed table as nite time reading material. Certainly good for a hard to buy for teen.

  2. What I really love about DREAMS is the illustrations. The interpretations are banal and un-connected to anything. For example, it says that dreaming about needles means means you have friends that appreciate you. This fortune cookie approach is a real put-off.

But the pictures are so great that it is worth the set. The artist has put together dozens of little surreal machines and fantastic vehicles that re-combine ordinary objects into wonderful vehicles of transport. A man flying on a sideways apple, a sun that is a hot air balloon, a jack in the box with a star head and more. Great!
Card stock so so, cards kind of small, but the overall packaging is really, really nice with thick glossy boxing. Great gift for artists, thinkings, dreamers.

  1. Written by a group of Psychiatrist with an active sleep disorders practice. Concise but very comprehensive of the field, and small enough to fit your pocket. The drug effects part is very useful. Organized around diseases as a clinician would see them and not like the ICSD manual which is more academic and research oriented. A good introduction and overview for the student but a good review for the young sleep specialist, also. Needs to be updated yearly because of new medications and treatment. A reasonable price so it can be used as a gift to interested friends.

  1. A truly fresh look at dream interpretation that includes ways of understanding modern symbolism from various cultural/situational standpoints

  2. This is my favorite dream interpretation book. It's set up like a dictionary. I've had other dream books but they didn't seem to fit me as well. I like the idea of animal totems and this author definitely drew on those interpretations too which I like. Another nice thing is that alternate interpretations and information on other cultures and what dreaming of a particular animal or thing would have meant to them is also included. Each entry also has other related topics to explore. Goddesses are mentioned here and there in the entries.

5 comments about Fields Of Dreams: A Guide to Visiting and Enjoying All 30 Major League Ballparks.
  1. Like other reviewers said, much of the information is outdated, but I like what the book tried to do: collect both baseball and nonbaseball information in one volume. The 'closest major league city' section are a nice touch for someone planning a road trip, and the top ten lists scattered throughout the book are a nice touch

  2. I picked this book up as a gift for someone who has talked about traveling to visit all ballparks over the next few years. Enjoyed reading about some of the ballparks that I have recently visited, but was disappointed to see that while this book was reveised in 2001, he did not visit BOB in Phoenix. The information is all pre-opening and is even written as if the park is not yet opened. Good discriptions of Pac-Bell and Safco field both which opened after BOB.

  3. of reviewing the major league ballparks in the United States. I enjoyed reading this book and finding out more about the cities that the ballparks were in. A good book for any fan interested in traveling to the games.

  4. Great guide to America's baseball parks, Ahuja's recommendations about the parks, nearby hotels, city attractions, purchasing tickets, seating guide and how to get to and from the baseball parks is extremely helpful. Field of Dreams is more than just a book about baseball parks. Field of Dreams is a helpful guide to resturants, nightlife and hotel for cities with baseball teams.

  5. This book proves to be mildly informative about the main subject matter, the baseball stadiums of the major league. However, I believed that the author spent too much time being a tour guide of the city of each stadium instead of the stadium itself. I wanted a lot more information about the stadium of each city instead of the city itself. I can find other books on the city if I need to. I don't need to read about it in a book I thought would be about major league baseball stadiums.

Each stadium is given a very short review and rest of the chapter centered around the sights, sound and places to stay. I really wanted to know bit more about the stadium, best seats, worst seats, food, and that sort of thing.

I got the 2001 edition and it does feel dated already. I think this book have been effectively replaced by "The Ultimate Baseball Road Trip" book that came out this year and contain a huge wealth of information about each stadium and its suroundings. But in that book, the stadium and baseball remains the main focus; in "Fields of Dreams", it seem to be the city. In many ways, "Fields of Dreams" should have read like the "The Ultimate Baseball Road Trip" but the author wasn't ambitious enough to do it right.

Overall, it does have useful information but they are rather minor and its dated. The "other" book have effective replaced it so I don't see why any one wants to buy this book any more.
