5 comments about Lucid Dreaming: A Concise Guide to Awakening in Your Dreams and in Your Life.
- I bought this book not realizing it was just a condensed version of the author's book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. There is nothing new here except a CD you don't need. If you are new to ludid dreaming you want to stick to Laberge's previous work. If you have already read that, you won't need to spend your money on this. It's like the cliffnotes version with pretty packaging and a CD thrown in to make it sound worth the money. It's simply not.
- If you want a more in depth and scientific book about lucid dreaming, Laberge's Explore the World of Lucid Dreaming is better. This short book contains the techniques you need, and all of the most relevant information.
The cd is good, not great. Laberge did not need to put some of the introductions on the tracks which take away from the exercises, and instead should have been printed in the book. The two trance tracks are identical except the day track tells you to wake up at the end, and I personally don't care for the lotus visualization--I always get confused as to how to visualize a lotus in my throat--do I look at it from where my eyes are, or look at me as though I am another person... Not clearly defined. He also varies his vocal volume too much--so you can't set an ideal volume because he mumbles at times and is too loud at others.
Overall a good book. I also liked The Art of Dreaming, The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep, and Dream Yoga and the Practice of Natural Light. All this reading means little if you don't practice though.
- Look around and observe your environment. Now ask yourself, "Ask I dreaming or am I awake?" Now look at the time on your watch. Let's say, it reads 3:25 p.m. Now look away for a moment. Now look again. If it says 9:55 a.m. then in all probability you are dreaming. This simple reality is one of the techniques that you train yourself to do while you are dreaming a regular dream. When you remember to do this reality check during a regular dream, the chances become very high that you will realize you are dreaming while you are dreaming. This all things impossible become possible. You can fly. You can make love to anyone you can conjure up in your imagination, real or fictional. You could talk to Einstein about the nature of the universe or you could walk with the Buddha amongst fragrant garden in the Orient and discourse on the meaning of life. Once you are lucid, everything you can imagine can become real!
Stephen LaBerge is world authority on this phenomenon, and he has helped thousands to develop the ability of lucid dreaming. This book is a must have read for anyone interested in lucid dreaming.
After you get this one, the others that I recommend to follow are:
Creative Dreaming: Plan And Control Your Dreams to Develop Creativity, Overcome Fears, Solve Problems, and Create a Better Self
Teach Yourself to Dream: A Practical Guide to Unleashing the Power of the Subconscious Mind
The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep
Thank you, Mr. LaBerge for your work.
- This book was good for people who like the science to back up the metaphysical process and ability. It gave clinical evidence that lucid dreaming exists (in my book) and it also gave examples and practical applications to apply lucid dreaming in your own life. The CD is helpful for self analysis and it can also help you to enter the lucid dream state.
There is information on how to condition the mind for lucid dreaming by using queues and affirmations which can be very helpful when you are trying to determine if you are dreaming or not.
- Great book about Lucid dreaming. The fact that it only contains the important information to achieve lucid dreaming is a good point; it allows the rereads you'll probaly need to absorb all the details that apear on the book.

5 comments about The Complete Dream Book, 2nd edition: Discover What Your Dreams Reveal about You and Your Life (Complete Dream Book).
- I was so sick of dream dictionarys and books that listed a word, like say elephant, and then a word or two about what that dream means. I heard good things about this author and decided to give it a try. I love it! She lists diffrent types of dreams, and diffrent scenerios in each section. She also gives real life examples and what they meant and how they worked out. De-coding your dreams is a very personal thing, no book can tell you everything. However, it get a little easier to put them in perspective after you read this. I had to buy this new, and it was worth every penny.
- No book I've read on dreaming ever has sufficient information to interpret your own dreams. Seems that there are always things you've dreamt about that are not covered off in the dream dictionaries I've read.
However - an OK read for the concept of the whys and hows
- I bought this as a gift for someone who is really into this dream stuff. They said they loved the book. You may think that they only said this because it was a gift, but the fact is that I bought a dream dictionary along with this book and they were honest and said the dictionary wasn't that good.
- My mom has a couple dream books that she likes and I thought I would get a different one for me. This book has a lot of information but not in as much of a simplified form as I would have liked. I have found that many of the dreams I have had are nowhere listed, no matter how hard I look...hmmmm maybe I'm just too wierd!! I think it is a good book for your Dreams book collection, but I will add others for future references.
- This book is exactly what I was looking for. Most dream interpretation websites and books only write a short sentence or two of what the dream "could mean". This book gives detailed examples, possibilities, and explains possible "why's" to why you have the dream you are having. Highly recommend the book. Great price for what you are getting! Gave me great insites to myself.

5 comments about Dancing the Dream: The Seven Sacred Paths Of Human Transformation (Religion and Spirituality).
- This is a deep, thought-provoking book that is without a doubt evolutionary. Exploring the Seven Sacred Paths of Human Spiritual Development, Jamie Sams has presented a pattern for spiritual progress that can not be absorbed in one sitting, or even in one reading. I know I am going to have to read it again. A lot of it was over my head, and yet, without being academic. I could easily identify where I am spiritually today, and have some idea where I need to go next...still I know it is a spiral, and anything is possible. This book is an essential guidebook along the way that I think I'll be hanging on to. If you are looking for spiritual nourishment that doesn't turn into fluff, this book is for you.
- Sams book certainly provides the reader with much material to ponder. It's definitely not the type of book to be read in one sitting and it's not a real "page turner". Instead, the truths Ms. Sams explores are best digested slowly. Perhaps this is most appropriate since she is describing a spiritual journey that lasts a lifetime and more. The diagrams are helpful.
- I believe this statement reflects Jamie's chief goal for this book: this statement is listed in the authors note, preceeding the text. I don't think it is possible to draw a universal map of consciousness applicable to all humans. The chief reason being is that some folks never get past the 1st commandment let alone rise to metaphysical heights described in the text. Further, unless the reader has more than a beginners background in the metaphysical - or enjoys flipping back and forth between the text and the glossary - the reading can be difficult.
I gave this book five stars for what it DOES do, and that is a whole lot more than 99% of the metaphysical works I have read:
It paints a picture of the onesness of all existence, even though most of existence sees itself as seperate from everything else;
It bashes the notion that only enlighted earthly masters can achieve spirituality;
It clearly describes the downfalls of anyone being overimpressed with their spiritual progress;
It provides healers with a strong dose of reality: not to forget that therapy patients come to you because they are sick...there is pressure in them staying sick so you can make money;
It confronts head on the notion that a healer can see oodles of people on end: a handful may be too many;
It rightfully makes warriors out of beings immersed in the waters of daily life and it's endless tortures and misfortunes;
It superbly raises these tribulations to the status of lessons, encouraging hope and joy in the struggle;
It clearly points out that transformation is not a linear process;
It describes this circular process as seven different paths: this description allows readers to compare, contrast, and analyze later;
It describes the first hand accounts of Jamie in her path of transformation;
Read the book for yourself: you can't put it down.
- This book is easy to read, with sensible suggestions that can be incorporated into your life with relative ease.
- Jamie Sams once again takes us on a journey through the layers of our spirit by bringing a complete understanding to the path we walk.

5 comments about The Art of Dreaming.
- Carlos Castaneda was one of the most controversial writers of the twentieth century. Some in academia branded him a fraud for claiming his stories were biographical rather than fiction, while lauding him as a great novelist for exposing a mass audience to otherwise inaccessible philosophical abstractions they claimed were largely plagiarized. Each of his works is a piece of a larger puzzle, which makes it impossible to critique any one book without addressing the larger context into which it fits.
His first two books, "Teachings of Don Juan" and "A Separate Reality" describe experiences induced by ingesting psychotropic hallucinogenics prepared by a Yaqui Indian shaman from Sonora, Mexico he called don Juan Matus, and accounted for his becoming a guru to a generation seeking short cuts to spiritual enlightenment, as well as his lifelong interest in the relationship between perception and reality, a theme now explored in many popular books on consciousness and quantum physics. Unfortunately, these books remain his best selling works, in spite of Castaneda refuting their importance in his later works. Readers would be best served to skip these and avoid the risk of being turned off to Castaneda and missing the more stimulating works that followed.
His third and fourth works were "Journey to Ixtlan" and "Tales of Power." In Ixtlan he admits to over-estimating the value of his drug experiences, which caused him to overlook the more profound teachings of don Juan which became the focus of future writings. What emerges is a spiritual discipline dating back to the Pre-Colombian Toltec sorcerers of Latin America, culminating with don Juan's departure from our world, effectively ending Castaneda's direct affiliation.
In his fifth and sixth works "Second Ring of Power" and "Eagles Gift" Castaneda suffers strange flashbacks of what seem to be memory fragments of events he is unable to fit into any logical time sequence. In his seventh and eighth works, "Fire From Within" and "Power of Silence," Castaneda succeeds in reconstructing his lost memories, which derive from teachings previously administered by don Juan while Castaneda was in a "heightened" state of awareness.
In books nine and ten, "Art of Dreaming" and "Active Side of Infinity," Castaneda focuses on what he describes as inorganic predators from another dimension, some having the power to imprison humanity in "ordinary reality" so they can feed on the dark emotional energies we produce when succumbing to the negative thoughts they insert into our minds.
In later years several seemingly substantiating works appeared by two of Castaneda's female apprentices, Taisha Abelar and Florinda Donner-Grau. In addition, two scathing exposés were also published by two of his ex-wives. The first, "Magical Journey with Carlos Castaneda" by first wife, Margaret Runyon, offers little corroboration, since her marriage pre-dates the time when the bulk of Castaneda's adventures were claimed to have occurred. While steadfast that Castaneda was a sorcerer, she doubts the existence of don Juan, even claiming authorship of many of the concepts Castaneda ascribed to him.
The second, and more credible work, is "Sorcerer's Apprentice," by well-known writer Amy Wallace, daughter of the late best selling novelist Irving Wallace. Here again, we find little corroboration since the time of the events she describes is well after the period when Castaneda's relationship with don Juan is alleged to occur. What the book does provide is a troubling look inside Castaneda's final years, a picture of descent into what seems sexual addiction and possibly madness, leaving one to wonder if Castaneda was just one cup of cool-aid short of a Jonestown.
Many have asked why I put any stock whatsoever in Castaneda. A story from my autobiography, "The Vortex" may shed some light. A year before Castaneda published his first book I had an experience that would remain a mystery until Castaneda published "Power of Silence" twenty years later.
For a brief time, in my youth, I became a practicing Muslim, meticulously performing the complex prayer ritual five times a day. Then one night, sitting in my car, frustrated and complaining at not being able to find the address of my next sales appointment, something inside me snapped. It was as if some part of me had disconnected from my body and assumed control, lecturing me about my lack of discipline. A profound calm settled over me, rendering me simultaneously detached and engaged. For two days my sales figures soared. It was as if no one could say no to me. On the evening of the second day I decided to put my new state of being to the acid test by visiting my parents. Their behavior was so uncharacteristically supportive I hardly recognized them. It was enough to convince me that I was now living in an altered reality. But by the following morning I had returned to "normal." So distracting had this event been that I completely forgot to perform my Muslim prayers, and in fact, never did so again.
Twenty years later, in a chapter of "Power of Silence" entitled "Place of No Pity" Castaneda describes a very similar experience. In the aftermath of the event don Juan explains that humans are like televisions stuck on a channel called "self-preoccupation," lacking the energy to tune into any of the vast array of other channels available to us. To change channels, he explains, we first need to accumulate energy, by practicing rituals that are deliberate, precise and repetitious. Do this long enough and eventually our stored energy precipitates a shift to a channel where self-importance and self pity become impossible. Once this happens we connect with the force that controls the entire universe, a force don Juan called "intent," and everything can be bent to our will and even more channels can be opened, assuming we remember to keep practicing the rituals that save our energy.
This one realization alone was enough to inspire me to dedicate my autobiography "To Carlos, with gratitude."
Maxwell Austin van Lack, Author of The Vortex: A True Story of Passion and Karma
- Not the greatest but who's to say. Lists some practical guides for dreaming and is still a bit criptive to those not fully involve with the sorcerer's path. Still a recommended read for those not too inclined but interested. Don't know what else to say.
- When I read this book I started having many more lucid dreams. I found this book extremely interesting and very different from other dream books.
- Before reading any of the Castaneda books, it is vital that any potential reader know the truth behind the legend - this I have covered in lengthy reviews of each of the first five books. This short review is just to say that this is probably the worst place to start as far as Castaneda books go. The others are at least written in a believable way, when Castaneda's art of fibbing was still well-developed. By this book he had given up all pretence at earning the label of non-fiction, the final result being a book that makes Alice in Wonderland seem quite believable. And if you want lucid dreaming, you've come to the wrong place. Read up some more on the man and his work before you believe anything in this book.
- I've done some research on lucid dreaming and astral travel and am in the process of attaining these states and looked to this book, by recommendation, as a potential guide book of sorts. Well, it does contain some general truths as compared with other books I've read and then there are things that are added in to make for a good and dangerous story with plenty of conflict that keeps you turning the pages. For instance: When Castaneda talks of the dangers of being lured in by "inorganic beings", which "inorganic" or non-physical beings is he talking about? The entire physical, astral, spiritual universe is populated by potentially millions of different races of "inorganic" beings. Some are out to get you, while some are benevolent, just like people on Earth. And the "scouts", or spirit-guides as most call them, are stereotyped as well as having a mischievous intent of luring out into realms of the universe that might not be able to get back from. Total rubbish! These examples and many more are why you can't rely on these books as actual guide books to help the serious explorer of these realms. They're written more in the style of "The Celestine Prophecy". I don't see why Castaneda just wouldn't be upfront about them being fiction, because as fiction, they are o.k. books if that's what you're looking for.
If you want real advice from real people about real experiences in the real lucid dreaming/astral travel worlds I'd suggest the following authors: Bruce Moen, Robert Monroe, Albert Taylor, William Buhlman, Stephen LaBerge, Adrian Cooper, Robert Bruce, Fred Atwater and others that you can find from links on their websites.
But, if you're not seriously looking into astral travel and looking for a good read, then Castaneda may be your man....

5 comments about Dreamer's Dictionary.
- This is the only book on dreams I have ever purchased that is the closest to being accurate. I had another copy which literally fell apart from use. I was so elated when I found it on Amazon.com. After receiving this copy I immediately purchased another in the event it goes out of print. Good Job!!!
- I was disappointed with The Dreamer's Dictionary. If you are looking for excellent dream interpretation books, I highly recommend I Had the Strangest Dream by Kelly Sullivan Walden and my favorite is In Your Dreams by Mary Summer Rain. These books give an amazing amount of information and I think they give accurate interpretations. Dream interpretation is very important and most people need help understanding their dreams so good books on dream interpretation are very valuable. I also like Watch Your Dreams by Ann Ree Colton.
- This dream book really hits the mark. One must, however, remember that some dreams are not prophetic and just represent our brain's working on the past day. If one does that, it is a very good interpreter.
- so far, I found all symbols I needed. However, I could see myself in need of more entries.
It teaches you a little about different types of dreams, too. Helpful.
It's been VERY accurate too
I am happy, reccommnd
- I was looking for a dream analasys book that told you what your subconcious was telling you about the day before, but this book is more of a psychic future telling book and it wasn't what I was looking for. Besides the misunderstanding, it is interesting, and it does have a wide variety of symbols and junk. It's great if you like to believe that your dreams tell you about the future, but not what I was looking for

5 comments about Take a Nap! Change Your Life..
- HOW THIS BOOK HELPED ME:
This book has made a big impact on how I view my study time. Medical school is difficult and exhausting. If I attend all my lectures, eat three meals day, maintain good hygiene, commute to/from the university and get 7 hours of sleep, I only have 3 hours on the weekdays to study. I used to hardly be able to keep my eyes open during that study time and I couldn't remember anything I studied.
After reading Take a Nap! Change your life, I have the skills to use napping as part of my study routine. I used to feel guilty when I napped because I thought I was wasting valuable study time. I was just too tired to study. Now I plan naps into my study schedule and it is amazing how much better I recall everything. My test scores in Pathology have improved an average of 8 points since I started napping and my scores keep improving despite no other changes to my study routine. If you subtract out my naps, I'm actually studying less but getting better grades! As I prepare for my USMLE Step 1 Board Exam, consolidating memories and enhancing recall is especially important. I now consider napping a study skill and regular naps are part of my board prep study schedule. Naps have truly changed my life.
HOW THIS BOOK CAN HELP YOU:
I recommend this book to all students, but especially medical students. A career in medicine means long hours and years of sleep deprivation. This book will help you understand why naps are essential for peak performance on tests and review highlights of sleep research. You will learn what stages of sleep are most important for recalling massive amounts of detail and how to maximize those stages of sleep in your naps. You will learn the essential skills of napping for maximum memory and how to create a personalized nap for your individual needs.
Most importantly, the knowledge you gain from this book will also improve your ability to provide quality patient care. The vignettes emphasize how naps can improve all aspects of life. I can already see how naps would be a beneficial part of a therapeutic plan for patients with anxiety, obesity, depression, sexual dysfunction, headaches, sleeping disorders, diabetes, substance dependence, or heart disease.
A WELL ORGANIZED, EASY, QUICK READ WHEN TIME IS A PRECIOUS COMMODITY:
I know that it is hard to find time for recreational reading in medical school. Fortunately, your time investment will be well rewarded by way naps will change your life. The book is written in succinct short chapters so you don't even have to use a bookmark. You'll be amazed how easy this book is to read. It is especially refreshing after studying dense med school textbooks such as Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease, Seventh Edition.
Take a Nap! Change your life has very reader friendly lay-out. It is printed in good sized font with attention to white space. Figures are clear and simple to understand. Important concepts are bolded. It is easy to navigate for specific information as well.
I highly recommend this book. I hope that you will start napping and benefit from this book as much as I have.
- The book provided a simple overview of the stages of napping and some sample plans for incorporating naps into your day. There was too much time spent on justifying napping for my taste (I'm already a believer) and not enough concrete information about how to plan your nap around individual schedules.
- This book is not for you if you already know a lot about sleep research AND you don't feel at all guilty about the idea of taking a nap when you're dragging. Also, as one reviewer pointed out, it won't give you a magic plan to make your boss decide that naps are actually good for the company; it's not everything to everybody. BUT... I'm in love with this book anyway!
I listened to Dement's book "The Promise of Sleep" a few years back on tape, but never thought about how little attention there is to daytime napping (as opposed to nighttime sleep and sleep problems). If you're sluggish and crave pick-me-ups (chocolate, caffeine, etc.) in the afternoon, this book may be the "ah ha" moment like it was for me. How come we exercise, take supplements, practice "sleep hygiene", try not to eat carb-laden lunches, and more, but we never think about taking naps? Why not give in, rather than fighting the urge?
I've been trying afternoon naps for about 3 weeks now, and for me, it's been like hitting the "reset" button on the day and getting a fresh start. It really seems like the missing piece; it's weird that it's so simple (and yet so culturally forbidden). I can't wait to tell my doctor what a difference such a simple solution has made.
The only trick is figuring out how not to wake up groggy, which the book doesn't cover in great depth. I'm looking forward to checking out the author's postings, and also reading "Power Sleep" by Maas (which gets pretty good reviews), to see if they add details to this book's impassioned plea and conscise intro.
The writing style is really lively, and typos are blessedly absent. It's a refreshing change from the self-published books these days in which the author thought he or she could save money by skipping an editor, since he or she can write "real great," thank you very much!
Finally, for what it's worth: The author comes across as someone who would be inspiring to be around; one of those people who has fallen in love with science and with using it to make the world a better place. Aside from the personal impact the book can have, it's just encouraging to know that there are people like that out there.
- I loved the book - it was worth every penny spent - enjoyable read, interesting stories intertwined, great educational tool to promote good sleep, health, wellness and especially to eliminate stigmas about napping. Thank you Ms. Mednick.
- Take a Nap was exactly what I was looking for. A very good, simple explanation of the stages of sleep and what happens in each stage; answers to common questions; several mini case studies of people in various situations and how they worked the proper amount and type of sleep into their schedules.

5 comments about No More Sleepless Nights.
- This is an excellent book that covers a broad range of reasons, and subsequent treatments, for insomnia. If read straight through, I imagine this book would be a bit cumbersome since it is so thorough. I found the technical information about sleep (in the introduction, but also scattered throughout various chapters where it applies) to be fascinating. But it is easy to skip to the parts that only concern you.
There are some detailed assessment quizzes, which I skipped because I had a definite idea of what was causing my insomnia (shift work, poor sleep habits, and anxiety.) But if you think there might be emotional, medical or other factors to your insomnia, the quizzes should point you in the right direction.
The advice on treatment is very interesting, not only because it seems to work, but because a lot of the ideas seem so counterintuitive (for example, if you have insomnia, spending LESS time in bed is probably a good idea. This is exactly opposite of what I was doing.) Chances are if you have insomnia, the things you are doing to help yourself sleep are probably only making it worse.
Some of the treatment ideas (particularly for improving 'sleep hygiene') might be difficult to implement at first, requiring some commitment and self-discipline, but the idea is to create a routine and good habits in the long run, so you'll be consistently getting good sleep for the rest of your life. Totally worth waking up at an hour you'd normally sleep through, or forcing yourself outside into the sunshine when you'd rather be napping.
After reading the book, for the past two nights I have actually fallen asleep within 30 minutes and slept soundly through the night. I am actually looking forward to implementing more of the treatment ideas, and I hope to kick this thing completely.
- This is the best book I have read yet! And it works.
I have been suffering from insomnia for 9 years and done all I cound think of to cure this problem, light therapy, lavendar, room darkening, no tv, sleep clinic all the usual. 2 years ago I began sleeping pills to function during the day.
This book has been a great source for beginning to cure the problem in very practical and solid steps. I would also recommend getting the sleep timer, it gives you an objective measure of the sleep you are actually getting. I am now averaging 5 to 7 hours of sleep a night with no sleeping pills.
- The book NO MORE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS has some very helpful suggestions and information that helped me understand what possible causes are. I would suggest it to anyone who is struggling with getting sleep.
- It's a helpful book, and is giving me ideas how to improve my sleep without medication.
- I strongly recommend this audio CD to everybody who suffers from mild or intense insomnia.
I started waking up in the middle of my night sleep or towards the mornings and having difficulty getting up in the mornings quite frequently recently so I listened to this audio CD by Peter Hauri. Because I have just finished listening to it I have not yet applied the recommendations to benefit from them. There is a lot of clearly explained information about the various causes of insomnia and what to do about them, when to seek what kind of professional help etc. . The explanations are made by a highly qualified expert on the topic : Peter Hauri the Director of Mayo Clinic's insomnia program. It is more than mere information about insomnia : in addition the CD provides abundant knowledge about general health and the way it impacts the quality of sleep. Applying the advice is certain to improve not only the quality of sleep but also physical and mental health in general.
The quality of voice on the CD is high, explanations easily understandable and pleasant to listen to. The listener can listen to this CD again and again to refresh his / her knowledge when the need arises without being bored.

- VERY HELPFULL FOR ALL MY DREAM NEEDS...EAZY REFERENCE TO GO RIGHT TO THE DREAM OF CHOICE...THANK YOU...
- I was disappointed when I first rec'd this book. I was expecting descriptions to be much more detailed. I thought I could get more from a free website and still think this sometimes! I hadn't pulled the book out in a while, I don't use this kind of thing that much in general, but I reluctantly did this morning and was surprisingly pleased. I hadn't noticed how insightful these short and sweet descriptions are. So maybe short is better. The purpose is probably the author's desire to leave some work to the dreamer. As far as thoroughness, I disagree with the reviewer about not being able to find key words... this is the most thorough book I have seen so a question could be asked instead, in my opinion, and that is, why aren't these particular words in this book?
- We have all had the experience of awaken from a dream and being intrigued, wondering if the dream meant something specific. I have always been fascinated by the symbolic language of our dreams. I believe that dreams are the place where we work through our problems, where we practice needed skills, and where we try out new concepts.
For years, I have written down and analyzed my dreams. Sometimes the process can be rather frustrating, especially when I can't determine the meaning of the symbols that I am attempting to examine. My first test for In Your Dreams was to look up a number of mystery symbols that I hadn't been able to identify through other means. I was thrilled when I found them all and several pieces of my personal puzzle fell into place.
With renewed curiosity, I began looking at the symbols of various body parts looking to the symbolic nature of illness and dis-ease. The results were very interesting. I believe that they could be of use to me in my practice.
- Having the original book for years I was thrilled to see a more complete version, Absolutely the best book on dreams ever published. concise definitions that when put together make total sense. Recommended to anyone with an insight to dreams and what they really mean!
- Looking up a dream just happened to be a topic missing in the book. Not one but several consecutive pages are missing. How many other dreams will I not be able to find? I want to exchange it for another book but I haven't had the time to pick a substitute. I'm glad I didn't just settle for one book.

3 comments about Courageous Dreaming: How Shamans Dream the World into Being.
- A wonderful book that teaches us how to rethink and become whole in mind, body, soul & spirit. It is very well written and gives exercises that causes your brain to lay the neural pathways for you to achieve success in your life. It sets us free from old thought patterns that play out drama in our lives. This book helps teach us to recreate our life and our world, but we have to be willing to do the work. I also suggest Dr. Villoldo's book Shaman,Healer,Sage- how to heal yourself with energy medicine of the America's. I highly respect this man's body of work.

- As with his other books, I'm enjoying this creative dreaming book by Alberto. I know that he understands so much more about life and death than I do and I continuously strive to learn from him. I'm only about half through the book and have completed the exercises he suggests along the way. One has to believe in the divine and the light energy field around and through the body in order to understand and participate in the creation Alberto describes. Hopefully, more and more of us will begin to do this. It has the power to change the world as we know it!
- Truly the most inspirational and informative book that I have ever read. It is full of knowledge that is useful to you every day of your life, changing your idea of what life is forever.

- This book really challenges me. I will use it for years. It is direct and specific. It disects the problem I am dealing with and asks no-nonsense questions. It goes far beyond attitude adjustment and helps me to direct my behavior toward my life-goals.
- Living by the principles of Don Miguel Ruiz's wisdom is a gift to world and very helpful in all communities.
- "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." And that teacher for me was don Miguel Ruiz. I've had The Four Agreements book for several years and went back to it after some recent trauma. It was wonderfully healing to remember what the agreements mean beneath the words and to reconnect with this peacefully way of being. The companion book is now helping me understand more deeply and to release some of the negative thoughts, or "agreements," that have held me back and led me to the trauma I experienced. I keep these books close to me, as well as The Mastery of Love. They are easy to understand and to practice. I hope to someday have them committed to memory so peace is my default state of mind. :)
- Was buying the four agreements and thought I might as well get this one to go along. Came super fast!! Can't wait to read it!
