5 comments about Star Wars Bounty Hunter: Zuckuss 12" Action Figure.
  1. Zuckuss, another lovely member of the six ex-bounty hunter's guild members gathered in The Empire Strikes Back, takes the redemption-offering, fund collecting stage in this new release. He's actually a really impressive looking figure, too, one that, when viewed from the front, is undeniably Zuckuss and is truly needed by anyone who loves their cinematic, bounty-seeking companions.

While shopping I happened across him quite by accident, the bland boxing attempt almost disguising this coveted figure amidst the throes of other newly released toys - as seen in many and many an overlooking nightmare since then. Still, when my eyes happened upon that face looking out through that plastic glaze, his nonmistakeable eyes meeting mine, I knew I had to have him. Out of the box I was delighted, too, only finding flaws in the way the back of the head and his coat meet and with the little chicken legs he has underneath that cover. Yes, the head looks more like a mask than anything when viewed at the wrong angle, and his legs are little bland stick-digits under his coat. Still, I rarely look at him from the top and I only curiously looked under his coat once(it covers him really well), so I was thrilled, the colorations meshing proportionately with his back/breather (not really removable) in a way that made my other figures envious and me forget any objections. He also comes with a weapon as well, something that he can hold quite well - a feat in and of itself - and he even stands up when the price is right.

This is something most bounty hunter enthusiasts will like, plus its something for anyone wanting to pit the forces of the corruptible against the Rebel menace gathering against a poor, unfortunate, perhaps freedom-crushing empire.

  2. I bought this figure just because I loved the bounty hunters when I was a kid. But in the original star wars, esb and rotj, this figure was refered to as 4LOM. Even the 4" figure was refered to as 4LOM, But this is refered to by another bounty hunters name, Zuckuss.
Is this a fo-pa on hasbro's part? If it is, then this is a unique item to collect.
Hey hasbro, if you make 12" figures this good, you should make another Boba Fett! I WANT A BOBA FETT!!! Good figure, buy it and leave it in the box, or buy two, play with one, and display the other! Kinda hard not to take him out an play with him!

  3. I liked this figure. I have a large collection of 12" SW figures and this one, I felt, came out well. All the joints are tight and the likeness is very good. I was glad to see that they went the extra mile and made a shorter body to be more authentic instead of slapping a head on a standard body.

  4. Bounty hunter fans rejoice! Now you can display all of the bounty hunters featured in the Empire Strikes Back. Zuckuss may have been one of the lesser known bounty hunters, but this 12 action figure is one of the best Star Wars figures ever produced. The detailed sculpting and outfit/accessories really stand out here. It also has good posability and holds his gun well. I still think Bossk is the best of the 12 bounty hunter figures, but Zuckuss is a close second.

  5. This is the only 12 inch I've bought in a couple of years,He doesn't really hunt any bounty though, all he does is sit by my computer and scare 2 year olds.

  1. I only began reading this informative book two days ago, however, I am already of the opinion that this book is going to be the launch pad for my recovery. At 36 years of age, I could not understand why I have felt the way I do all of these years. The depths of "Depression" have been challenging and debilatating. My hopes lifted as soon as I picked up the book and read the first comment on the back cover.

" Depression: the imprisoning experience of isolation and fear which comes when we realize that there is a serious discrepancy between what we thought our life to be and what it actually is."

That was a powerful statement. It made me suddenly realise that if it could be summed up in so few words, then there was hope to cure me of this disease, or atleast the opportunity to live with it. The references to other people's situations and how they are affected is essential as one of the worst things about depression is feeling isolated and alone. When I read of other case studies, it is evident to me that there are many others suffering the same symptoms and struggling to find away out of the prison of depression.

Another aspect of the book which I find appealing is the use of words and terms that are easily understood by anyone. It has been helpful in my attempt at having my loved ones understand what I am going through. ie: " fear that everyone she loved and needed would reject her. She believed that no matter how hard she worked to make people love and need her, sooner or later they would discover that inside I'm foul and disgusting."

Overall this book is easy to read and understand. It has lifted my spirits a little and put me in touch with some part of me that I thought was lost. I am using this book as a stepping stone to other avenues of help.

2 comments about Virtual Reality Therapy for Anxiety Disorders: Advances in Evaluation and Treatment.
  1. As a psychologist specialising in treating anxiety, I found this book fascinating. It walks you through how to treat each type of anxiety disorder eg PTSD, driving phobia, phobias like heights and spiders etc. It is very thorough in describing how long a person should be exposed to the virtual reality environment, how to test if a person is truly appropriate for this type of treatment, and what to expect from the treatment. It also gives advice on what to do if things don't go to plan. I found this honesty very refreshing as most people will try and sell their new found item as the holy grail and tend to overlook drawbacks with their new form of therapy.
The only criticism I would have is that the book makes out that virtual reality is relatively cheap to get a basic system going. It also has a list of dealers from which you can buy from. Of this list of 12 or more dealers, only 2 are still in business. As for it being cheap, think again. I personally believe that unless you have some serious money to spend, then you are not even going to get a look in. Give it a few years and I think that VR technology will have caught up and be able to provide therapists with a much cheaper therapy tool.
So why buy this book then? I found that the book allows you to look at therapy in a completely different way, open your eyes to new possibilities. I have used VR and it is brilliant and does indeed work. It is brilliant for height phobics and people scared of flying. VR is a new and revolutionary form of treatment for anxiety offering amazing potential that would be rapid and cost effective (once the equipment is purchased). If you are an entrepreanaur, VR could be an area to look into.
The authors have done a brilliant job researching and writing this book.

  2. As a masters student studying international law, I never thought that virtual reality, cognitive therapy, or anxiety disorders would ever be of interest to me. Once I decided to write my dissertation on Legal & Social Aspects of International Peacekeeping Forces, I focused on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and issues relating to psychiatric disorders and effects that were problematic for peacekeeping forces post-deployment. I stumbled upon this book, searching for PTSD resources, and the idea sparked my interest. The book, written by a husband and wife team (a physician and a psychologist), shows the impact of anxiety disorders, what the current treatments are, and how virtual reality can massively improve such symptoms. I was shocked at the idea, but after reading this book (which is interesting, informative, and written in a way to which a non-medical individual can relate) I was sold. Virtual reality (I focused mostly on the PTSD studies) has the ability to take an individual who suffers from PTSD and slowly recreate the incident that causes them PTSD symptoms, providing an efficient, individually paced, and easily duplicated method of cognitive-behavioral therapy in order to "relive" the incident to better manage symptoms of PTSD. This book shows a multitude of various areas to which virtual reality has improved science (e.g. anxiety disorders, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias), which intrigues me, a person who has never studied psychology or any sort of medical science. I would recommend this book to anyone, medical minded or not, who has, in any way, a fear or phobia as well as an interest in the future of science.

5 comments about The Cuckoo's Child.
  1. This book is amazing! Mia's dream was to return to her homeland,America, but her wish wassn't granted the way she expected. When her bohemian parents got lost at sea,she and her eccentric older half-sisters were sent to their aunt in Tennessee. Orphaned and unable to fit in with other kids,Mia was as unhappy there as she had been in Beirut. She felt alienated in both countries and didn't appreciate her parents until they got taken from her. Then, she slowly reverted to compulsive behavior. I knew how she felt in her isolation, wondering if she would ever catch up to her new friends in matters such as love. I became totally immersed in the story. For anyone who's ever doubted whether they belong,I reccomend this book. Please,Mrs. Freeman, write a sequel! We want to know if Mia's parents ever come back.

  2. When i first saw the book I thought it was going to be stupid but, i was soo wrong this book is now one of my favorites and i have read it 3 times already! so if your thinking of buying this book or just reading it, You definatly should!

  3. This is one of those books that has a child for a narrator but speaks to all ages, especially those of us who remember the feel and details of life in 1962. It has the unchildlike true voice found in To Kill a Mockingbird or Member of the Wedding. Most of all it captures, with humor and quiet drama, one's growing inner life and the struggle to guide that life by the signposts of the outer world. Look for the passages on eating cookies, touching the clock dial -- you'll see what I mean. It's a treasure.

  4. Mia is an 11 year old girl living with her aunt in Tennessee. She has two older sisters, Bibi and Nell, who consider themselves first before anyone else. Mia, Bibi, and Nell live with their aunt Kit, because Mia's parents are traveling through Europe. When Mia finds out her parents are lost at sea she becomes angry and impossible to talk to. Because of her behavior Mia's aunt sends her to bible school, where she meets a girl named Sinclair. Mia and Sinclair become best friends and even make up their own club about saints. Sinclair is obsessed with saints, she even took a saints book from the library and hasn't returned it for a few years. When the two friends get into an argument, Mia joins the popular group at school, called the Devotions. The Devotions are the rulers of bible school, they always call you and tell you what to wear, so you don't look like the other groups from school. When the final day of school arrives, all the parents and students get together, at school, for awards and cookies at the end. Mia was still upset about her parents, so she didn't tell her family about the ceremony. When she arrived at the ceremony, she was so upset she climbed in a tree. When the Devotions saw her, they told her to get down but she wouldn't. Corrine, the leader of the Devotions, got mad and banished her from them. When Mia's family finally found her, she got down and left home with her family. Mia tried to get a hold of Sinclair, but she couldn't, so she went to her house. Mia found her there and apologized for getting into a fight with her. They became best friends again and made up a new club, abut writing poems. They started brain storming and Mia thought of a title The Cuckoo's Child.
I thought this book was a pretty good book. It wasn't the best book I've read, but it was interesting. At the beginning of the book it was boring because it just kept on explaining why Mia moved, the names of the characters, and how she reacted when she moved from Europe to America. In the middle of the book the story got interesting. It told the problem of the story and what Mia did when the found out that her parents were missing. I think people should read this book because it has a lot of different themes and because the author uses many descriptive words and details, so you won't get lost in the story. The people who should read this book are people who like fiction, some mystery, and drama genres, because this book has them all.

  5. Traveling to Tennessee due to their parents being lost at sea was not an easy task to swallow. Mia, and her two older sisters, Bibi and Nell, went to live with their Aunt Kit whom they had never met. Since Mia was dealing with the fact that her parents were lost at sea, she was very hard to talk to. Because of this, Mia's Aunt Kit sends her to Bible School in hope that she would improve behaviorally wise. At Bible School, she meets a girl named Sinclair and they both become best friends. Sinclair and Mia become best friends, but when they get into a fight, Mia decides that she will join another group called the Devotions, who are the leaders of Bible School. Eventually, Mia and Sinclair make up and create their own group where they write poems. Mia writes a poem and decides to call it "The Cuckoo Child". This book has many characteristics that you don't see in other books.

Mia reacted to her being orphaned in a repulsive, unhappy attitude. When she had arrived at the ceremony and was so upset because everyone else's parents were there she climbed up into a tree. She stayed their until her family had came and found her. Because of her having to realize the fact that she was orphaned she had many mixed emotions. In this book, I think that in some cases her approach on things would have been completely different if she wasn't dealing with that fact. I really liked how the author depicted that in this book.

Mia's dream was to return to her homeland America. When her parents were lost at sea she got to fulfill this dream. Throughout the whole beginning of this book the author talked about this and Mia's feelings toward America. She always said that she was missing out on the American childhood. When she was orphaned she was devastated, but along with that I think she had a side of her that thought of how she was fulfilling her dream, and going back to America. In another look at things, Mia was going to her Aunt Kit's house whom she had never met. She may have had her two step sisters with her, but that was also a major impact to the story.

In the beginning of this book it was really slow. All it talked about was Mia's dream to going to America. As the story went on, more details were put in and the story became more interesting. For two chapters or more, though, the main subject was Mia and her dream. When she got over to America the real story began.

This book is not a book for those who like adventure novels. It is more of a dramatic book dealing with some mystery, where you wonder if her parents will ever come back. This book would also be good for anyone that has ever doubted themselves. Mia felt alienated in both countries she lived in. She had to adjust to the habitat, but could never find anywhere that actually "fit".

    -H. Cooper

  1. This book is outstanding. Very helpful. Very well presented. The strategies are simple yet life-changing. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in reducing their level of anger, fear, anxiety or depression. I learned things that have already helped me.

  2. I think the book will help me. There were a lot of good ideas. The book also had jokes, proverbs and quotes which related to the concepts.
I learned the program in 2 days. I'm already able to apply the concepts to my anger and anxiety.
A lot of the ideas were new to me.

  3. This book is very helpful. There are tools to handle anxiety and anger. Before I read the book I had a hard time with anxiety and anger. Now I have ideas to use to control anxiety and anger.
There are also jokes and proverbs that apply to the ideas.

3 comments about The Complete Idiot's Guide to Conquering Fear and Anxiety.
  1. This book had some interesting points to consider but its major flaw was it covered too broad a range. In trying to be complete in coverage, most of the information is too general. The author not only dealt with many types of fear and anxiety but also with different age groups running the gamut from childhood to adulthood. There isn't much new in ways of dealing with fear and anxiety if you are a reader of these types of books. The chapter that I found most illuminating was the one about why you won't have a heart attack, die, etc. while having a panic attack. I've never seen that information written in any of my previous readings. I do disagree with the previous reviewer, however. I did not feel any of the conditions were trivialized. I also suffer from agoraphobia and think that it is naive to expect a self-help book to cure you. I think it is extremely difficult to give specific help when the audience is such a generalized population with varying degrees of symptoms, fears, and anxities. I did not feel I learned much new but the suggestions and strategies were straightforward and consistent with my other reading. The bibliography is a good starting point for further reading. Overall I would say this is a good overview but for more specific types of worry, fear, anxiety and phobia, I would chose a book that was narrower in focus.

  2. This book was too ambitious. It covered too many topics, spanning from childhood to adulthood, without really getting to any helpful information. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

  3. This book was OK I guess. It didn't really help with any anxiety, I got through my anxiety with positive things, not this book. It did have some useful information in it so if you get a chance to skim through it or borrow it from someone, then go ahead. If not, then maybe skim through the book in the store before buying it online.

  1. I have used one other Janet Decker CD besides this one. Voice is soothing, no trouble settling down and actually relaxing during this stress filled holiday. Got my skeptical boyfriend to try it and he enjoyed it. We both find Ms. Decker's voice soothing and will definately buy more of her products, especially the one for deep sleep as my BF is an insomniac. I have tried other CD by other people and the ones by Janet Decker are just a better choice...in my humble opinion.

  2. I listen to audiobooks daily and these are among the very best in terms of quality, relistening value, help and self growth. The total package is superb. Sit down relax and indulge.

I have been telling coworkers and friends about the change in my life and health. The power of suggestion is powerful. I no longer look like I stayed out all night. I look forward to my time relaxing with them. I own 5 cds by Janet Decker.

  3. Of all 20 of the CDs I have bought for meditation and hypnosis this is the one that stood out. It's very easy to follow, with no difficult visualizations, but a deep and wonderful hypnotic state is acquired. I put this on my MP3 player and now anytime I have an emotional pain in my mind I go right to this CD and it is erased, and replaced with a calming peace and emotional control. Janet is amazing and I hope she makes many more CDs. Thank You!

  4. At the beginning of the recording Ms Decker says that in case of emergency you will be awake and alert. For some reason she restates this a couple of times in the course of the program. I found this very distracting and unnecessary. Generally the content is good, but sometimes it sounded too much like reading from a text.

  5. This is a great CD. I was concerned that hypnosis would not work on me, but the last couple of times I've used the CD I've awakened from my "trance" and noticed I'd been drooling! And I was sitting up to listen!
