5 comments about Calming Your Anxious Mind: How Mindfulness & Compassion Can Free You from Anxiety, Fear, & Panic.
  1. it deffinatley helped me out however I found that alot of the information and phrases are used over and over again through out the boook which made it boring to read . I baught this book because its foreworded by Jon Kinn but it did not have his style. I also did not like the cheap white paper its printed on , it feels like a cheap copy that somone made at home with a photocopy mahcine.

  2. This is the Second Edition of this book; one I've been waiting for for a while. I saw the first edition of this book when it was loaned to me by a staffer at a "facility" I found myself in a while back and to say it helped me save my life would be a severe understatement. The simple concept of Mindfulness struck me like a ton of bricks. This is not a book to borrow from your friendly local library, this is a book to get and hold. A book to change your life. Very readable, almost a fun read, were it not doing so much change to my anxious mind in the process. Buy this book, read it, live it and get rid of that pesky anxious mind you've been living with all these stress laden years. It really does help make life fun again!

  3. Jeffrey seems earnest in his desire to help others which makes for an inviting read. His book touches a bit on some modern trends in psychology then ties those learnings to the Buddhist concept of mindfulness gained through meditation. If you want to get the benefits of mindfulness without having to learn or agree with some of the other principles of Buddhism this is a fine book. Unlike Eckhart Tolle, who has recently put out a best seller covering much of the same ground, Jeffrey's book is for people that want less wo wo and more substance in addition to instruction on how to get on the right path. I believe the best book I have read on this subject is still, "Mindfulness in Plain English" by Gunaratana. If you could only buy and read one I suggest Gunaratana. If you have time to read both then read both. In fact read many, along with your practice of course.

  4. this is a great book for the layman and it has helped me understand things about depression and already feeling better

  5. This book is great. I love Brantley's style. He makes the information easy to digest and interesting to read. Best of all he shares personal stories along the way wherein HE USES HIS OWN MEDICINE: I especially liked the hot air balloon ride!
    thank you Brantley-

5 comments about Beyond Anxiety and Phobia: A Step-by-Step Guide to Lifetime Recovery.
  1. This book was very helpful. My psychologist recommended it to help with my counsleing treatment. The author breaks things down for you and makes you realize many things that you can do to live a better, healthier life. It has truly changed my life for the better! I would recommend this to anyone who has anxiety, phobias, even stress.

  2. This sems like it could be a great help for someone suffering with anxiety, however it can also be very overwhelming. It is definately not a quick fix. This is more like a study guide, kinda like taking a class. If you need immediate help, I suggest seeing a professional as apposed to buying this book. If you have plenty of time on your hands and your anxiety os already under control, then this book can be helpful.

  3. I never look to books to give me the ultimate answer. If I learn something from it and can apply it in some way to my life, and if it's writen well enough to keep me interested, it's worth it. This book was very good that way, at least for someone who likes philosopical/psychological stuff.

I've been diagnosed with a general anxiety disorder, and had a bout of depression last year. A very good therapist recommended this to me. In fact, she said that I HAD TO buy it. I did, and learned a lot about various types and triggers for anxiety. The more I learn about it, the easier for me to deal with it. It became a familiar, known side of me, and when I can separate the rest of me from it and look at it, and study it, it becomes less and less relevant. Which is what we all want, right?

And, it helped me understand other types of psychological issues. I don't suffer from all of those, thankfully, but it is sure interesting to learn how those work. Anyway, it's a good read. Enjoy!

  4. Goes along with the workbook by the same author. It is easy to read and understand.

  5. This book was a dream come true for me. I can't take medication for my anxiety and depression. This book helped me find alternatives that set me on the right path. Now I feel a sense of relief and like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is also a section on finding your life purpose. It's wonderful and really helped me set a plan into action so I can fill that empty space causing me so much anxiety. I would recommend this book to anyone who suffers with mild or moderate anxiety who needs reassurance and help.

5 comments about Depressed and Anxious: The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Workbook for Overcoming Depression & Anxiety.
  1. I have found this book to be worth while clinical tool. Mara has made a significant contribution with his work in taking DBT beyond the treament of the borderline patient. I am using this book in an inpatient clinical setting with some good results.

  2. This will be an informative read for most, requiring somewhere around a high school reading level. Its layout is pretty straightforward and the concepts are presented clearly.

Whenever people have difficulty understanding a book like this there are three basic reasons:
    1) The material is accepted by the reader but somehow distorted or too complex to comprehend.
    2) The material is deliberately blocked by the reader because it violates some deep seated belief.
    3) The reader is compelled by anxiety and intolerant of the pace the `material requires'. This last one obviously holds a particular note of caution for the readers of this text.

Of the three possibilities, most readers will discover that option one is `not' an option.

I suggest that anyone struggling with option two take a good serious look at Zen. Pure Zen is neither a religion nor a philosophy; it is a `path of liberation'. Its purpose is to free the mind from vicious circles of behavior and thought. And it works! DBT is a union between Zen and western psychoanalytic theory. For those that are interested, the following books on Zen are 'must haves' and should be read in addition to this book:
Zen Mind, Beginners Mind by Shunryu Suzuki
The Three Pillars of Zen: teaching, practice, and enlightenment by Philip Kapleau
Nothing Special: Living Zen by Charlotte Joko Beck

Take this book to heart; it will help.

  3. Can a book save your life? This book saved mine. The book along with therapy.
This book was rather dry reading but the end of the book contains lots of worksheets that can make all the difference. I wish this author would do a book of JUST worksheets. It is a book that was written more for the professional therapists or people studying this type of therapy but I have used it in group therapies and it is powerful and helpful.
When I first started, I tried to read the book but didn't understand it so I ripped out the last 1/2 of the book (Pages 105 - 180)..those were the worksheets and they made all the difference. After that I was ready for pages 59 - 105.
I eventually made it from page 1 and on but it is slow reading.
I know I only gave this book a 3, but it saved my life. It is just that it took three readings before I could really understand it.

  4. This book broke my habit of black and white thinking. I love the use of monitoring my feelings on a continuum. I am always between extremes, which is fine with me. Because of this book, I will never see anything as completely dark.

I suffered from GAD, Agoraphobia and clinical depression. Originally, my doctors put me on medicine for anxiety, but these became addictive. Eventually, I had to withdraw.

Since I could only afford to go to a non-profit clinic, therapy was short lived. Eventually, the doctors put me on a anti-depressant, which has worked well. I remained clean from all drugs and alcohol.

I have been reading books about depression and anxiety; this author places them side by side and I love it.

  5. Although it is called Depressed & Anxious, it does provide a complete explanation of DBT. Once again its a workbook and if you buy this workbook you need to follow the instructions to get the most out of it. DBT isn't easy but its worth trying.

5 comments about Theoretical Anxiety and Design Strategies in the Work of Eight Contemporary Architects.
  1. This collection of essays on contemporary architects reminds me of why I love great contemporary architecture, and why I will continue to work as an architect. The text demonstrates the wonderful diversity of the times we live in and the recent history which has formed these times. Read these essays and you will recognize the lineage of form and theory which has led to any building built or published today, from any suburban house to the Freedom Tower.

A reflection on 50 years of history, this book could only have come together now. Moneo's observations of his peers are dead on and written with the clarity of a historical text while still managing to to provide the insight of a work of architectural criticism. This is the book I wish I had as a student in the 1980's but know that in the throes of theoretical debate at the time that the history was too fresh for hindsight. As a direct result of the debate around "modernism", more than at any other time in history we are able to recognize how theory affects our design strategies. In collecting these transcripts of lectures and essays on these architects Moneo codifies what we know we knew about how we got here, but had not yet put all together.

I only wish I could have been there to hear his lectures. At times the text seems to stradle the grammatical form of essay and transcript of a discussion on a particular slide. But perhaps it is that sometimes awkward format which energizes and saves the book from becoming "text"book. To actually see slides and drawings rather than the somewhat small and at times poor black and white images that dot the text would be of great benefit. As a result this is probably not a book for the casual reader of architecture not familiar with the work of these architects and who does not have the time to look for better images. Mr. Moneo has in this book nthe raw material for what could be a very powerful multimedia publication, either CD or web based.

I recommend that every student of architecture today read this book. It offers the critical tools to recognize where from what you do comes and in doing so opens the possibilities of where you can take your work.

  2. There are Architects who write eloquently about Architecture, but whose built works disappoint, then there are those whose buildings inspire and yet seem unable to communicate clearly about their ideas, but Rafael Moneo is the rare architect who appears in easy command of both realms. A colleague who studied under him said that Moneo could look at a project and tell exactly how it was designed, and this book seems to substantiate this ability to understand both method and reason behind the work of some of the most important Architects of the last third or the 20th century. Moneo's prose is informal, yet studied, and this book serves as a once in a lifetime conversation with a master Architect.
His ideas seem better defined when dealing with James Stirling and Aldo Rossi, and more speculative when dealing with relative newcomers like Koolhaas, and Herzhogg+DeMeuron, but the book is always insightful. Moneo comes across as someone who loves his profession and who, despite earning international renown, approaches the work of his colleagues with the same fascination of a brilliant student. This fascination is contagious, and the book is a worthy addition to the library of anyone who loves contemporary architecture.

  3. I purchased this book because I was interested in only
two architects. One was Siza and the other H+Dm. Going over again
Stirling/ Venturi/ Rossi was just too much and I wasn't interested in the rest of three architects. But thanks to Moneo's great writing, I was able to read all of the architects with great interest and enthusiasm. Reading Siza was like reading a poetry. Moneo constructs that mood by comparing Siza with a Poet Pesoa. Due to their contemporaneity, analysis on H+Dm is still on going. But Moneo explains well on the foundation of H+dM's work. Like the comparison of Siza to Pesoa, it is interesting to read H+Dm's relationship/influence with conceptual artists such as Joseph Beuys. In terms of Venturi and Rossi, unlike crash courses in architectural history, Moneo delves into more on their individual projects than on the theoretical manifestos of their books. I gained most reading Koolhaas and Eisenman. I never liked their writings (one being too sarcastically light and the other being too narcissistically heavy) and I hated their buildings. Moneo actually helps overcome these misreading. Overall, the book really stimulates thinking in that every line in architecture has a meaning. Moreover, it helps to see the landscape of contemporary architecture. As the title suggests, the book really is a theoretical anxieties. And like all anxieties do, I guarantee that this book will stir the stagnation of your spirit; as it did mine.

  4. In architecture, everyone at one point fantasizes about becoming a well known architect. Rafael Moneo challenges the current leaders method of praticing. He investigates each architect individually, delivering insight to their logic in practicing. Moneo constantly refers back to each architect he discusses and compares the diversity of architecture logic in practice. Although I believe he was attempting to expose the potential failures or faults in most successful architects, whom we usually appraciate but hardly challenge.

  5. In this deceptively thick volume, Moneo presents a compilation of lectures he gave during the early 90's while at Harvard's GSD. Digging into his archives, he reassembles slides and text specific to the work of eight individuals that Moneo believes to be among the most influential contemporary architects of the late 20th century.

Don't let the title intimidate you. Moneo is simply referring to the mechanisms, operational strategies, formal devices and procedures that architects utilize in their design process and their unwillingness to reveal those systematic theories of design. Rather, he believes that the current architectural discourse assumes a more reflective or critical posture rather than revolving around the process of design.

Moneo manages to reveal to varying extents the working process of each architect by analyzing a body of work over the course of their career, identifying key changes in strategies. As an architect, learning the working process of such significant architectural figures is quite useful, allowing one to locate themselves (or others) within the greater architectural sphere. Here, connections begin to reveal themselves and linkages to architects past and present become evident.

The project images are often a bit too small to be incredibly useful especially since Moneo often refers to specific features within the drawings and photos to explain his thoughts. However, this remains an excellent and recommended read.

5 comments about The Chemistry of Joy: A Three-Step Program for Overcoming Depression Through Western Science and Eastern Wisdom.
  1. Anyone looking to improve their lives should definetly take a look at this stuff. This book literally changed my life. Whether you suffer from mild or severe depression, the small suggestions offered in this book are priceless and very easy to follow (plus, they're fun to try).

I've spent years battling severe depression. I dropped out of college for a year, and recently ended up in the hospital with suicidal thoughts. I'm not sure if I would be here if I hadn't accidentally picked up this book. It was refreshing to find so many extra steps that I can take to improving my lifestyle, other than just medications and therapy. The book is easy to read and fascinating. Since reading this book, I've meditated daily and even sought out an ayurvedic practicioner to help me (something I would have considered "quack" science before).

These practices have kept me on track in graduate school, and many people have told me I look better than I ever have (I'd bet everything that it has to do with my better diet and meditation practices). The book was just a start, but it's the only book I've ever seen that allows that kind of start. I've read extensively on depression, and I've never learned more than I learned in one little book.

Most of all, I feel better than I've felt since I was 16 (before the depression). This book has opened new doors for me and I feel well enough to take them all!!!

  2. This is a fantastic book. For anyone who has every experienced the "prisoner in you own mind" feelings that come with anxiety, this book really lends a helping hand. Like the other reviewers mentioned, it is well written and concise...but perhaps most of all, it gives you some very empowering tools amid an otherwise desperately helpless-feeling time.

  3. I see Dr. Emmons as a regular patient. He is a gifted doctor and healer. His book goes on to further demonstrate his ability to combine western medicine with eastern logic only to achieve amazing results.

  4. This book was very informative and an excellent resource. You learn a lot about yourself.

  5. This is one of the most helpful books out there for treating depression. And most of the concepts and advice are useful for anxiety as well. Easy to read, excellent illustrative examples, non repetitive, concise, and accurate. Even if you don't go in for the Eastern views on diagnosis and treatment (although I personally believe that the practice if mindfulness is one the best treatment modalities out there), the first section on understanding and taking care of your brain is well worth the price of admission alone. Thank You for this informative and innovative book!

5 comments about Winning Job Interviews: Reduce Interview Anxiety / Outprepare the Other Candidates / Land the Job You Love.
  1. I'm getting ready to retire from a successful military career. To be honest, before reading Dr. Power's book-the thought of joining the rat-race of the whole job interview process was more formidable than facing another deployment to the desert! At 40 years old I haven't had to go on a job interview in over 20 years! This book was not only fun to read, but offered great tips, warned against common pit falls (I was sure to fall into) and helped me plan out my strategy to attain my future career. It's hard to imagine, but after reading this candid, well-written book I feel not only self-confident but actually excited about my upcoming interviews!

  2. Clear, direct, concise.

The first 40 pages will tell you what you really know: how you feel. And how to deal with it. With an upbeat language helps you decrease your anxiety and depression. And further, MOTIVATE you.

Then clear clues on how to behave, conduct, and win interviews.

I wish he could avoid some areas of job searching and closing to have more material on the topic.

But IT IS A MUST READ.

  3. I've been on both sides of the job interview process: as someone doing the hiring and also as a candidate for a job. It is amazing how being on the job hunt alters your view of the interview process. Did I develop some kind of "interview fever" which made me overly nervous and forget what it was like to hire someone? Maybe. But reading Winning Job Interviews allowed me to step back and put it all back into proper perspective so I could ace the interview and get the job. How cool is that?

  4. This book was definitely money well spent. I have interviewed and accepted jobs previously in my career (10yrs in my profession), but have never been as prepared as I was after reading this book. I used it from the start of the job hunt process to accepting the best overall offer. Reading the book helped ease pre-interview anxiety, and also helped me prepare for interviews by providing a good idea of what to expect, how to prepare, and how to answer difficult questions, etc. The sections I found most helpful were on generating multiple offers, and negotiating after the initial offer. I used Dr Powers advice on both, and was able to generate multiple offers and negotiate significantly higher salary and vacation time. Well worth the money and I would recommend this book to anyone currently on the job hunt.

  5. This book is very helpful if you are going through the interview process and have not done so in a while. Very insightful and real world.

5 comments about SOS Help for Emotions: Managing Anxiety, Anger, and Depression.
  1. I have been reading my doctors copy of SOS Help for Emotions. My wife is bi-polar and my son has Schizophrenia. This book has helped me to understand the self talk that we do to ourselves over a problem we face. Problems present themselves all the time, it is the self talk that we do that causes most of the problems with the solution. This book has helped me with both my wife and son's sickness because I can help them analize and improve thier self talk section of a problem to end with a more positive out look or one that is not as detrimental as they make it. What we think most of the times causes a problem to get worse than it should be, when we understand the problem and think it through in a positive way the out come of the problem is way less then what it could have been. I am not a doctor or psycologist, I'm just a family member that cares deeply for my family and want to make thier life less stressfull as I can.

  2. As a clinical psychologist I wrote "SOS Help For Emotions: Managing Anxiety, Anger, And Depression" to help people to increase their emotional intelligence and to more effectively manage their emotions and behavior. Emotional intelligence matters more than IQ in obtaining success and contentment in life.

The five abilities of emotional intelligence are: 1. knowing our emotions, 2. managing our emotions, 3. recognizing emotions in others, 4. managing relationships with others, and 5. motivating ourselves to achieve our goals. I believe that people can increase their emotional intelligence using the methods of cognitive behavior therapy as presented in "SOS Help For Emotions."

Dr. Albert Ellis, the best known therapist in the United States says regarding SOS, "Beautifully captures the spirit of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (cognitive behavior therapy) in concise, evocative, and humorous language. A gem of an introduction to REBT." The director of professional education at Albert Ellis Institute says, "It's spectacular! SOS is the best self-help book on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy that I have seen." Dr. Donald Beal, a practicing cognitive therapist says, "SOS is a beautiful work! The use of cartoons, figures, and illustrations is quite engaging." SOS is available in Turkish, Chinese, and Korean, as well as English.

I am eager to share insights from cognitive behavior therapy with people (including older teens) who are not seeing therapists but who want to learn on their own, how to improve their emotional intelligence and their ability to manage their emotions and behavior. I used 100 illustrations and boxes in SOS to make reading interesting and easy for busy people. Seeing SOS in print is a dream I have had for over 15 years. Currently I am working on a video-based education program based on SOS Help For Emotions.

Written by Lynn Fred Clark, Ph.D., author and clinical psychologist

  3. This is a fun, easy-to-use book! Humorously challenge your belief system (what you expect of yourself and others, whether reasonable or not) and the results will astound you. A great tool to find contentment in your life and your relationships.
You will keep this book forever to go back to when those old habits try to sneak back up on you! It is amazing to be able to maintain happiness and tranquility even when the world and people around you do not. Best dollar investment and personal investment you'll ever make.

  4. This is an easy to read self help book for any age!

  5. The book arrived in a timely manner and was in brand new condition. I was pleased with this experience. The book has been an interesting read.

5 comments about The Tapping Cure: A Revolutionary System for Rapid Relief from Phobias, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and More.
  1. This is my favorite book on the subject of energy psychology. The author speaks in a natural language which puts the reader at ease. She also makes it very easy for anyone to learn how to achieve their own emotional freedom. I use this tapping technique with my own clients with great success, and like the author, I once thought it was total quackery!

  2. As an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner, I enjoyed reading this easy to understand guide to using energy psychology on yourself to solve all sorts of problems. I like how Dr. Tenes used the A-F grading system, and clearly explained the tapping points and how to use them. I particularly like the short section at the back of the book dealing with helping babies and young children be calm.

If you're thinking of using EFT, TFT or any other energy psychology modality, reading this book will help you get a jump start on the process.

  3. This is a proven method not only helpful for those who suffer with anxiety, ptsd, bipolar, etc. but also proven to help with weight lost as shown on cable a few weeks ago.

The challenge is remaining committed to following the instructions and making them a part of your normal routine in life.

  4. The Tapping Cure is a well-written, informative, entertaining book on an under-utilized but most effective therapy. I would never have believed in its efficacy had I not personally experienced the ebbing of negative, unwanted thoughts and feelings after tapping the way Dr. Roberta Temes prescribed. It has helped many a patient of mine, as well as friends, to rid themselves of negativity and feel so much more happy and free. I give it the highest of recommendations. Just sit back, read, relax, grow, and enjoy!

  5. I have been tapping for over a month and recently read Roberta Temes' book to add to my awareness of this process. I highly recommend "The Tapping Cure", as it is written with clarity, simplicity, and a wealth of information. It has been most helpful to me in making the most of my tapping sessions.

5 comments about How to Sell Network Marketing Without Fear, Anxiety or Losing Your Friends! (Selling from the Soul. Ancient Wisdoms. Modern Practice).
  1. This is an excellent book and should be read by all Network Marketers!
    Well worth the price!

  2. This book is the best advice & counsel for multi-level marketing!! We have electricity & gas on multi-level and it helped us alot, to get away from old sales tacktics. This book is from the heart! IgniteYourLife.info

  3. I loved it!
I love the combination of practical advices with the Ancient Wisdom from your Soul!!

  4. This is a great book/series for people getting started in the industry. Being an introverted person who had never been self employed before the networking/prospecting process at first was unsettling. This book is the foundation of everything I do now and with this more patient style you can have success using natural selling. If you are naturally introverted with no self employment experience and want to save months of spinning your wheels while building a foundational knowledge towards taking action I would also recommend the following books:

Think Like Your Customer - Bill Stinnett
How To Hire & Develop Your Next Top Performer - Greenberg, Weinstein, Sweeney
Principle Centered Leadership - Stephen Covey
The Greatest Networker In The World - John Milton Fogg
Make Your Contacts Count - Babor, Waymon
How To Have Confidence And Power In Dealing With People - Les Giblin
Why We Do What We Do - Deci
Talk Your Way To The Top - Hogan
    The Difference Maker - Maxwell
Take Me To Truth - Sanchez, Vieira
Secrets Of Self Employment - Edwards

I have filtered my way through about 60 books when I entered this industry about 6 months ago and these ones really I think are vital to the average, not so out-going person entering the industry. They also speak to people who are very principle based. I would also try to contact the University Of Illinois's Network Marketing department and try and track down a cheap(er) copy of the textbook Direct Sales by Keith Laggos. You really will save yourself a lot of self-doubt and frustration I promise you.

  5. I love "really good" books. As a Financial Advisor and a Business Consultant, I consume a ton of books and do a lot of research and due dilligence for my clients.

Network Marketing - As a Home Biz Coach and a Network Marketing professional (for over 20-years), I have also studied many books, audios, videos, CDs, DVDs on - and taken many courses about - the Network Marketing industry. Despite its critics (and I used to be one) - it's a business model that I greatly respect - and when 'worked correctly' according to the 'right' financial, business, marketing and ethical principles - it has no real comparison on this planet in my opinion.

Major Problem - But because of far too much hype + the very poor (OLD methodology) sales / marketing training provided within this industry - there is a terrible failure rate (90-95%)! Distributors are (still) being taught old sales strategies and techniques that are outdated, stressful, and unprofessional. As a result, distributors become uncomfortable, get frustrated, and struggle to succeed. They have not learned (are not learning) the right "people / communication skills" or "sales skills" - and this is a tragedy.

    There IS a better way.

A Revolutionary Book - The Review I'm giving here is about a very important, MUST HAVE book - not just for Home Business entrepreneurs - but for everyone.

Michael Oliver - Although I have not personally 'met' this gentleman - I have chatted with him on one of our DRA (Distributor Rights Association) calls recently, where he was our guest speaker ((I'm proud to be serving on the DRA Board Of Directors, as Canada's representative. The DRA is a non-profit, global organization that serves to educate, inform, preserve and protect the 'rights' of Network Marketing distributors everywhere)).

Natural Selling - In my opinion, Michael Oliver is perhaps "the" finest teacher / educator / coach within the Network Marketing // Direct Sales industry. His contribution to this industry is huge. In addition to being a brilliant author, he is in constant demand as a speaker / trainer. His 'Natural Selling' approach to business building is radically different from the methods and techniques that many companies, uplines and other trainers teach to their distributors and associates - and thus, it has met with some controversy.

This book is without a doubt, a MUST HAVE resource - for both new as well as experienced Network Marketers (perhaps even more so for veterans). It should be required reading for every Network Marketer in my opinion. In it, Oliver gives us the option of another way to succeed - a more relaxed, fun, professional way.

Personally, I love the blueprint he lays out - as it challenges the very problem areas that most face. For example...

The 80//20 Rule - Early in this great book, he raises a profound question about the 80//20 Rule (20% of the people end up - doing 80% of the work - achieving 80% of the success).

Well, he puts forth the proposition => what if that 20% "makes up" those Rules (which, in many cases, cannot be duplicated by the other 80%)? Hmmm. And what if even 10% of those other 80% "could" succeed - IF those Rules were to be changed somewhat? Hmmm...

Attraction // Relationship Marketing - Michael Oliver describes business building using the approach of a "consultative dialogue" with people - to create long term and mutually profitable relationships. It avoids all the "manipulative techniques and high-pressure sales tactics" so commonly being used in this industry. Natural Selling instead, focuses on creating "trust" through relationship building first - and only introducing the products / services / business opportunity as potential solutions "after" a mutual process of discovery with the prospect (he calls them a 'potential partner') - where there's a good FIT for the other person.

Stress Free Building - This book teaches distributors "how" to both understand rejection and eliminate it - "how" to overcome the fear of objections - "how" to end call reluctance forever - "how" to forget all about any personal agenda, and instead, concentrate totally on the 'potential partners' needs and wishes - "how" to have 'potential partners' being attracted to YOU (-vs- you chasing them).

Communication - When we fail to "communicate" effectively with others, we lose - they lose. Disagreements / arguments / divorces / fights / wars - they can all occur because of a lack of ongoing communication. It's no different in our careers / businesses / professions. It starts with putting the OTHER person's interests first - period. It's about asking good questions - listening sensitively (not only to the 'words' spoken [or not spoken], but to the real 'meaning' behind them) - offering sound solutions to any problems uncovered - but also, being willing to admit it (and actually "walk away" from the situation) should you feel that your solution[s] might NOT be the most appropriate for that person.

It's a mindset thing - it's about changing out thinking. Michael Oliver "challenges" us to do just that in his exceptional book. Thank you, Michael!

    I give this 255-page book a "perfect 10" - a full 5-STAR Rating.

    Sincerely,
