1 comments about Anthony Robbins Personal Power Classic Edition (7 Audio CD Set).
- I could talk about the tapes / cd's but that's been done. Let's talk about the man, with some analysis of his work to support, of course. Some of the reasons Tony Robbins is so succesful is that he not only puts into practice what he preaches, but he has also learned from his experiences and has applied them to his work. For example, his company was in debt and all of his employees were yelling the sky is falling, the sky is falling, that he should declare bankruptcy. However, Robbins was able to shine through with a unpopular, going against the grain perception, that there was "a way" and that he was going to find a way to bring his company out of the ashes. Which as we all know, he did.
Another important factor in his success was overcoming his own personal detractions. He thought he was too young or not educated enough to be a personal trainer. However, he overcame these negating beliefs.
I will now give you some of the limitations in my life to let you see that it is not whether or not we can do it but resides in the belief that we can do it. Most who want to become successful, unfortunately, become seminar, books and tapes junkies, never going beyond just dreaming. Being a dreamer is fine but there has to be a reason for motivation to make change. What's the biggest motivation? Most self-helpers don't bring this up. I'll get to it in a moment. Let's get back to some more examples of "desperate overcomers", the newest shoe on television.
Growing up, I was the shyest, most introverted person ever to walk the face of the earth. I know. I've checked with the dead. When some of my classmates met me in my twenties they were impressed with my voice, a voice they never heard. When confronted by strangers, or an angry parent, what I would do in response was this: say absolutely nothing. I believed in my miranda rights--even though I had no idea they existed. (I have made similar complaints to my college students that dead authors, whose works I read after writing a particular novel, had stolen my ideas. Typical dead people. Remember, I know them well. Back to the story.)
At one point in my life, in my pre-self-help days (I had never read a self-help book until I was well into my forties), I decided to use the Elenor Roosevelt method of total immersion (an amazing woman, along with others: read all about why women have overcome their political and social limitations through two other amazing women [ladies, get your tattoos now!]: Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.) At about the age of 25, whenever in public, I began volunteering any time I was attending an event and someone was needed to come before the audience. I then performed in bands, as a stand up comic, college professor (humor comes in handy in keeping student's heads in an upright position: eyes forward, oxygen masks overhead, isles clear please), and teacher / lecturer in classrooms, auditoriums, churches and so on. This is where I began to slowly, very slowly, move beyond abject fear. You know the kind, where you're so scared you can't think? Well, it only took me about eight years of constantly being in front of people before I was able to turn a weakness into a strength. Where I was able to not be paralyzed by a thought about how the big, bad, mean people in the audience were going to join in a chorus of "We're just gonna poke some fun . . . at this guy who's so damn dumb." Maybe Tony Robbins could have helped here, but I had to do it on my own. The THINGS I LEARNED WERE PRICELESS AND HUNDRED TIMES MORE INSTRUCTIVE THAN ALL THE SEMINARS, BOOKS OR TAPES I COULD EVER PURCHASE.
What's my point. Tony? Great. Mark Victor Hansen? Great. Jack? Great. T Harv Ecker? Great. Og Mandino? Great. Zig Ziggler? Great. What's my point? Regardless, YOU, yes YOU, are solely responsible for finding what motivates you and how. Tough assignment? Sure. Is life tough? Hell yeah! But the toughest, most depressing, debilitating thing you can NOT do is grow. If you remain stagnant (and I've seen an alllllllll too great a number of stagnant people in my life) you will get to the end of this one-time-only opportunity and feel as depressed, as sad, as useless, as used up and pointless as you could ever feel. Don't ever even come close to sucking up to that kind of depression. I've been there. Looking down from the tops of buildings and parking lots. It's hell. Leave hell here on earth. Take some heaven with you when you go. Get the led out and go, go, go, until you get there. The alternative? It really sucks. Love. Peace out.
Oh, another point: do you find yourself depressed? Your life pointless? Well, the answer? Give. Give until it hurts. Find as many people as you possibly can and tell them the truth, the truths. The truth will not only set you free but you'll make a lot of friends along the way. And it's really cool because they own stuff you can borrow and play with. That reminds me, I've got to return my neighbors poodle. Me and the kids were playing Beauty and the Beast in the backyard. Poodles really know how to act beastly. I'm guessing it has to do with working through an inferiority complex. Stay big.

2 comments about Anthony Robbins' Personal Power II: The Driving Force!; Unleash Your Personal Power!; 30 Day Program For Unlimited Success; Volume 1 To 12, Audio - Indexed - 25 Compact Disc.
- This 30 day program is fantastic! It works! Most books and audioprograms are depending upon that the listner has got his/her own driving force. Where most programs usually just gives the one that all ready has made up his mind the last push, Anthony Robbins gives the "whole picture".
I am a sports psycologist, a business man, a mental guru in my own country and have read and listened to hundreds of programs. As I personally am educating some of the most well known and sought after mental motivators, I know what I am speaking about. I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean in a rowboat, a journey much more mental than physical. I know that mr Robbins program is by far better than anything I yet have come a cross. I highly recommend it regardless of the size of your dreams, level of procastination etc. However, do not forgett to complement the ideas with John Maxwell and Les Gibbins!
- This system avoided 1 star because there is some value to looking at things in a different way. It didn't get more stars because it was my interpretation that the system boils down to conditioning yourself like a dog, programming yourself like a computer. Sometimes I was laughing at concepts.. i.e. training yourself to associate feeling happy with yanking on your finger, so if every time you feel happy and yank your finger, your mind won't recognize whether being happy causes you to yank your finger, or if yanking your finger causes you to be happy, so naturally, just yank your finger and no matter how you are feeling at the time, you will become happy. These concepts might work wonders for some people, for me it's a little too much new age.

2 comments about The Science of Being Great.
- This is the first time I've reviewed any material here on Amazon, even though I've been buying books and audio products on here for years. I've stuck to the personal development and business development genres.
I bought these cd's off the strength of someone's high recommendation but frankly I was a bit disappointed. My friend compared Wattles' material to Napoleon Hill and claimed that this is where Hill got his information from in writing the highly acclaimed "Think and Grow Rich." While there are some definite similarities, the delivery of the material in "The Science of Being Great" was hardly as captivating. The concepts presented require a kind of open mind and faith in "universal intelligence" that I just don't think every reader or listener will be able to muster. But let me clarify, as a person of faith myself, the aloof nature of some of the material presented in this work were just too grandiose to swallow.
I would recommend this book (or audio) to anyone whose been reading and listening to this genre for at least a year. If this is one of your first purchases in this category, you may be left scratching your head and wishing you'd bought any of the other great works for less cost.
- Wallace D. Wattles is a treasure. He was enlightened when he wrote this back in 1911. Every sentence demonstrates "no self" in other words he was fully identified with the collective intelligence. He demonstrates non-attachment, non-judgment, and non-resistance a full 100% throught the CDs. If you love Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie, Jed McKenna, and other highly spiritually evolved writers, you will love his stuff.

5 comments about Awaken the Giant Within.
- First off, and I can't stress this enough, you must read the book. The audio is a great modivator and a good introduction, but the book is must. keep the audio for your car just for as a reminder, but read the book. Robbins can sound silly at times, but he's brillant when it comes to modivating you and ideas of how to make the most out of your life.
- Funny thing about all of these motivational speakers... they're all rich. And that's one of things that makes us buy their stuff. Though they preach motivation and personal growth, the unsaid implication is that if we follow their lessons, we'll be rich, too.
Tony is no exception; he talks on this tape about how one year he was living in a tiny bachelor apartment, and a few years later he was living in a castle and flying his jet helicopter to his seminars. But what none of these people ever talk about--including Tony--is HOW they got so wealthy. That would be a problem, since they tend to downplay the importance of money, all the while being paid millions of dollars to do so. My hunch is that Tony makes his money by having people come to his seminars and buy his stuff. It's the same with financial guru Suze Orman--she hasn't made her money through smart investing; she's made it by writing books and doing a TV show telling us how to invest. One of the secrets of making money is to find a niche and fill it; if you can't find one, then you invent one and convince people they need it. Arnold Schwarzenegger did this back in the 80's; he convinced people they were out of shape and came up with the whole "I'm going to pump you up" campaign. Tony, Peter Lowe, Zig Ziglar and others have done this with our minds: convinced us that we need to get control of our lives, and to let them tell us how to do it. That's not to say Tony's stuff is a scam; if you're feeling out of sorts with the world, this tape is indeed a valuable help in focusing on how to get back with it. But for people who have a normal level of intelligence and presence of mind, it may be somewhat unsatisfying. One thing I've learned is that sometimes the best advice someone can give you is to stop asking for advice! I think a fair number of Personal Power converts probably spend too much time and money going to seminars and studying Tony's stuff, and not enough time simply living their lives and making their own decisions. This tape is not going to tell you how to earn enough money to buy a helicopter or live in a castle. It is not going to tell you how to end up with a beautiful spouse and kids. It will tell you to follow your dream, and offers a few basic guidelines on how to do that. But you have to do the work. N.B. The tape ends by telling us that by following Tony's advice, you'll attract the "appropriate coaches and role models." Sounds like a plug for Tony's personal coaching services. In other words, even after you've awakened your inner giant, you'll still need help! (Hint: you still need to buy more stuff!)
- Anthony Robbins is the first person that I modeled that really changed my life for the better. Before him, I have read other books on psychology and self-improvement, but all those just ended up with lots of theories about things, but very little practical application in real life.
Robbins is the person who walks his talk. He takes what he learned and modelled from other masters like Jim Rohn, Robert Shuller, Richard Bandler, Milton Erickson, Robert Cialdini and many others, but he does something different and achieve far greater results than his teachers. The reason is that he takes all the techniques seriously and apply them faithfully to the n-th degree. Few of his very powerful beliefs he lives by that I have used to achieve impossible achievements are "There is ALWAYS a way, If I am committed to find one", "It is in the moments of your decisions that your destiny is shaped", "Manage your emotional states and you master your behaviours".
If you read about his story, he was 17 years old, broke and living in his VW car outside 7-11, and he joined Jim Rohn's company to start selling Rohn's educational sets. And he sold to every single person he made a sales appointment with, just by applying what he learned from Jim Rohn and others. Even Jim Rohn couldn't believe it, since nobody in the company could sell more than this 17 year old kid. And when he was broke, he set such goals as owning a castle home, big cars, being successful etc, and in 1 year he achieved them all, just by rehearsing and staying committed to his goals every day. And over the years, he achieved amazing redults just by applying the skills, beliefs, and techniques he learned. He proved to me that, if you are committed to your goals, values, and committed to doing the things you MUST do each day to be at your best,- then you can do seemingly amazing things even with simple techniques and beliefs.
This cassette is an additional companion to his book Awaken The Giant Within. Although the publisher produced this tape, which is about 60 - 90 minutes, some of the information and techniques in the book are not included here. But I love this tape as his delivery is very powerful and infectious. Get this tape, I guarantee it will help you, IF you apply them in your life. Don't be like most people who reads good books, and then say it's not good, just because they don't apply what they read. Reading and merely listening won't change your life. Applying it does! The world is filled with educated derelicts- people who know a lot of knowledge, but didn't use what they know.
- I have just read what this person writes regarding Robbins' ways against christianity. With all due respect, I just want to say that if you're looking to improve your life, to be confindent of your actions, and firmly believe that you're in control of your own destiny, maybe christianity is not the path for you. Firstly, christianity is a mere invention towards gaining power over the masses. Secondly, christianity is not based on the real teachings of Jesus Christ, it's all about manipulation to DISEMPOWER people, to make them more docile. When Robbins uses the word "Whatever it takes......"...depends on your criteria. As an adult, I know exactly what I'm doing when I take an action. Believe me, if you want to gain power no matter what, despite hurting people , you'll know it !!!!.....And it's a personal decision anyway.
I think Robbins is a millionaire because people like us buy his stuff. But I have to admit that he is a terrific inspirator, and that his knowledge about PNL, and other subconscious techniques are impressive. He's one of the best presentators I've heard. So I give him his well deserved credit for that.
What really strucked me hard, was the beginning of the tape, the cheesy speech about the silly helicopter, and the traffic jam because of his FABULOUS seminar.........I don't know....I was about to shut the player off, but I kept going, and I really enjoyed it after that.
My advise, again, if you try to gain power over life and destiny, forget about christianity, the church, catholics, and all their variations. The real value of the human being is not written in dogmas, but written in the souls of the people who believe in the collective welfare.
- This is an inspirational and insightful book that is well written and contains some profound methods to improve your thinking and improve your life. The ideas and methods that Robbins suggests are not just theory but I can attest from personal experience that they really work as I have successfully used some of the concepts.
Anthony Robbins summarizes the best personal development strategies and combines it with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to create quick change. He also presents a tool called Neuro Associative Conditioning (NAC). This technique assists you to condition yourself for success. Robbins applies them in a very practical and useful manner.
"Awaken The Giant Within" is a fantastic book with powerful strategies for those who are perceptive enough to use them. This book will improve your entire life from reaching goals to rapport with others. You can change your limiting beliefs and achieve goals that you thought were out of reach. You can greatly improve your interpersonal relationships. You can be better than your best. You can learn to quit bad habits like smoking or alcoholism or solve your overweight problem. You can overcome fears and phobias.
The material is presented in reader friendly way. The material is well organised and flows smoothly throughout and is easy to read and follow.
Don't be intimidated by the length of the book as it is very interesting and exciting to read. Robbins gives some very insightful anecdotes that illustrate the practical application of his principles and methods that really work. He methodically, step-by-step, explains how to go about articulating what it is you want, the forces that shape our destiny, and how to harness the power within to create our own destiny.
This is recommended reading for those who want to change for the better and are prepared to back up their desire with action.

5 comments about Giant Steps : Author Of Awaken The Giant And Unlimited Power.
- I recently purchased Awaken the Giant Within on CD. Now I am listening to Giant Steps on CD. It seems to say the same thing. I liked Awaken the Giant Within, though seems the CD is probably shorter than the actual book, but not sure. I was trying to get something from Robbins that would NOT say the same thing. I guess if you like to hear him talk, I recommend this.
- Two points (one covers a review...the other covers the guy with a grudge towards Tony Robbins)
The book is good for reminding you and keeping you on track if you are one to read stuff but not do it unless you have a check list... have the book in a place you get to every day (chunk it...like with your vitamins or coffee) I found Notes From a Friend better and shorter...it gives you the Top 10 Tools of Robbins Philosophy...each about 5 pages long... and a 10 day mental challenge... easier than digesting the longer books (since 90% of the people don't get past chapter 3 of most self help books) As for the guy with the grudge (he says he isn't bashing...but he has put a review on each and every Tony Robbins book on Amazon stating why Tony is a scammer) he speaks of doing all the Tony Robbins stuff for 8 years... and yet his complaints and reviews show he read it but doesn't appear to have practiced it... plus he talks of coming from love and acceptance... well his reviews don't seem to come across that way...so he may not think he is bashing...but he is. Even Tony says certain things work for certain people...he speaks of what worked for him and what he managed. The self help industry is flush with people looking for the 'magical answer to fix their lives' I myself can say I have not succeeded in many areas due to not taking the time to work with what was in front of me and jumping all around. I have currently stopped that and am sticking with what is in front of me... giving it a good 6 months of work to see if it is for me...then and only then will I move onto something else. Take what works and leave the rest.
- You know this guy must have more skeletons and dead hookers in his closet than you could shake 2 sticks at.
Talk about over compensation.
Either that or he really did short circuit somewhere along the way and has allowed himself to become consumed by all this inner-power hooplah.
Tony you're some type of new half Richard Simmons - half Robert Tilton cyborg. Preying on the lunatics and the esteem challenged. I wanted to see what he was about so i bought this book. As you may have gathered I wasn't overtly impressed.
- I enjoy this - I keep it on my kitchen table & read it with coffee in the mornings. I tend to need a reminder to think positively to enhance my life. This really helps!
-
I have read the two great books by the renowned motivational guru and bestseller, Anthony Robins namely Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within. These books contain profound knowledge which provides you with ideas, beliefs, techniques and strategies that help people all over the world turn their dreams into reality. Giant Steps is a handy and succinct distillation of the wisdom contained in Awaken the Giant Within that provide a quick reference to give you inspiration and motivation to aim for peak performance in all your endeavors.
This is an excellent piece of work that is easily portable that keep my mind energized, help me to maintain my self-confidence, ensure that my big dreams come to reality, and that helps me maintain my emotions and behavior for maximum growth and ensure that I have my financial freedom.

- I loved how Tara Guber wove the understanding of deep relationship wisdom into the understanding of this powerful partner yoga. It gave me an insight into the postures and as I practiced them with my husband, I also thought about the wisdom and anchored that in my heart and body. The result is more joy, connection and play with my husband. I recommend this to anyone who wants more intimacy and juciness in their life.

- I really wanted to love this book. It's beautifully designed with gorgeous photographs, inspiring poses, and lofty prose. My wife and I pored over it's pages with anticipation, but when we attempted the positions, we were frustrated by scanty instructions, repetition, and fluff. Both of us are experienced in yoga, though not advanced, and most of the poses were either too tame or too difficult.
The book looks nice on the coffee table, but we're still looking for a good book on partner yoga.
- This is the best partner yoga book that I have found. I have taught yoga for many years including "date night" yoga so I'm frequently looking for new books to get fresh ideas for class. CONTACT is beautifully photographed and written for the yoga mat or the coffee table.
YogiJamie
- This book has beautiful pictures. The text is interesting but scanty. I would have liked more detail on the principles of the poses and how to actually do them. Many of the poses shown are beyond what the average practitioner can do.
- Amazing book! Not only is it artistically beautiful, the poses are fun and challenging. If you're already a yoga buff and are looking to find a book with good partner poses, then this is a great buy.
