  1. I think that this is one the best books I ever have had. It's a very complete book. The book begins from the more simplest to the more complicate topics. The language is simple and you can undestand everything even if you dont't have any experience. I would like to find this book in Spanish. Because I am a refrigerations teacher and this way I don't have to translate from English to Spanish for my students. I recommend this book.
    Pablo Colon

  2. This book is not written in a clear and concise manner for me. You may be better in getting, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology, 5E

  3. I would recomend this book ONLY to an entry level student. The chapters while complete don,t go into the level of detail that they could. If they did this text would serve me better as a reference rather than the fantastic door stop that it makes.

  4. The book discusses literally essential, important topics for HVAC with very clear pictures. I prefer this book to other 1200 pages, pillow-sized textbooks which often mislead, make confused with a sea of information.

  5. very thorough and in depth reading on the fundimentals of heatig and cooling, by the way get the work book if available!

  1. Norm Lieberman shares his 20+ years of refinery experience in a comprehensive book that illustrates the wisdom of gathering enough information to make an informed decision. Written for engineer and control personnel alike, "Troubleshooting Process Operations" is worth it's weight in gold.

  2. I am a luckier engineer, because I met with Mr. Lieberman, he is an excelent process engineer, anh he have a large experience in troublessoting subject. I have one of these book and is my favorite source of information, In fact I am working in Refinery...

  3. Great introductory staff for those who wanted to understand the basic operations. You cannot learn all about refinery operations from the book but rest assured that you will know the right questions to ask for any situation.

  4. pros:
the content is good, viewed from a practical point of view

    cons:
somewhat old version,no real hard cover, higher price

  1. It should be named something like the "Essential Math Reference Book for Farmers, Landscapers, Golf Course Superintendants, Nursery Managers etc." What a wonderful and easy to use reference book for anyone dealing with the frustrating world of area measurements, volume/fertilizer/pesticide/irrigation/seeding rate calculations, and spreader and spayer calibration. I've worn out one copy and am on my second. I use it on my farm, at work as a pesticides applicator, and in my landscaping business. This is a must-have book for folks like me that hate math but have to use it almost everyday....believe me your money won't be wasted on this one and it won't just collect dust on your shelf.

  1. This is my textbook for the next 2 years. It is the beginners' body textbook and progresses to the more advanced stuff I know it's going to be trashed by the end of school since I use it every week but I'm trying to keep it nice because I'm planning on keeping it in case I need a reminder how to do something.

  2. I have used the book for about 3 years. The book is very explanatory, it shows some of the technics that are most used in the trade, in addition, the author puts an emphasis in safety. It does not cover very technical issues, as enginnering. Although, technology is changing fast for the student is it a great tool because it lays the basics in a clear manner.

The book is ideal for the college student, that is because with the complement of other general education courses, the student is able to grasp principles in the book that seem complicated. For example, physics relates to how direct and indirect damage perform in a body vehicle.

Para el estudiante de habla hispana el texto contiene un glosario bilingue.
A plus is that the textbook includes a bilingual glossary, english and spanish.

5 comments about Encyclopedia of Electronic Circuits, Volume 7.
  1. After puchasing volumes 1-6 as a group and testing some of the circuits I spent many hours correcting the mistakes and errors in these circuits. I threw the books into the closet and designed from scratch my own circuits, it took far less time and they work when I'm done. I wish you could hold the authors accountable for lost time I could hire a design staff larger than Microsoft.

  2. This series contains thousands of schematics from a variety of sources. I'm quite sure that few, if any, were tested by the authors. However, based on the sources, most probably were tested by the originators. The explanations were sparse, and there were errors, some obvious. As such, these are probably not suitable for beginners. However, I find them to be very valuable, and I suspect that many experienced techs, engineers, hobbiests, and experimenters will as well. I often use part of one circuit as the seed of an idea for a circuit I am designing, with the end result bearing little resemblance to the original. These are filled with perhaps the most valuable of all resources - other people's ideas. I do wish the authors had been more careful to catch errors.

  3. Several readers have criticized this book for its lack of working circuits. Let me say that I too have run up against this problem while lifting circuits from this book. However, I like to look at this book as a great compendium of circuit ideas that are going to need some modification if they are to work as advertised. I particularly liked the sections on game circuits, sound-effect circuits, and sound/voice activated circuits. I have built several of these, and I had to make some adjustments to each one. The point is that the basic ideas were all there along with pretty good descriptions for each circuit. The author also takes the time to introduce electronic parts with which you may not be familiar. If you are not already familiar with electronics, this is not the book for you, since familiarity with electronics and circuit design is assumed. However, for only $40 I think it is a great value for those with the correct background.

  4. I already had Vol 1. of this series from decades ago. I thought the author had maybe improved the content and accuracy of his books. Sadly mistaken. Schematic diagrams are routinely missing values for parts or lacking important information. I have been in electronics for several decades and I again am greatly disappointed with lack of quality. I don't know if the author received permission to reprint these circuits on the condition he left out part values or what. For the money your better off somewhere else. Large voume of circuits diminished by poor quality of information.

  5. This book has lots of mistakes (many circuits don't work), the author kept many magazines through years and reprinted the circuits he found in them.

  1. Be careful if you're buying this book for college. The sellers usually do not indicate which edition they are selling - and anything older than the 4th edition will be completely useless to to you.

  2. This book is surely one of the best available for its purpose, that is, to give an introduction to the refrigeration and air conditioning technology, and also to teach how to install, service, and maintain all the hardware associated with this.

The text is very well writen, in a very clever language. Graphics are very good, and very helpful to the understanding of topics. Sections dedicated to the electrical and electronic sub-systems were a surprise: they are also very clear, and are very helpful even for experienced technicians. There are even sections dedicated to airflow at conditioned spaces, a matter that isn't very well undestood by technicians.

I strongly suggest this book to the people that wants to start working in this technical area, and also to that who already work with it. Very useful to the begginer and to the experienced technician as well.

  3. I am an hvac technician, and this book was more clearly written and logically written than any book in its field that i have read.(and I have read a lot of books}.
It is considered the bible of the hvac industry- highly recommended!

  4. this book is helping me to gain the education i need to support my family thank you

  5. The ISBN NO. below is the LAB MANUAL for the text advertised above. I think it is interesting and worth the time reading it, but it is not the theoretical treatment you may be interested in.

  1. I've been looking for a good book with helpful information on designing rubber parts. The books I've picked up in the past focus too much chemistry and not enough on the mechanics. I found this book very helpful.
