5 comments about Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN® Examination (Saunders Comprehensive Review for Nclex-Rn).
  1. The book is great and in perfect condition but the CD for some reason is not working properly. I've tried to take this 100 question exam 4 times and it has frozen up on me before I've reached question 30 every time. And I've tried it on different computers to make sure it wasn't the computer acting up.

  2. I am a begining nursing student. I purchased this to go along with my studies. I think it will be an excellent tool to use throughout school so I will be ready for the nursing exam.

  3. I just bought this book to study for the NCLEX-RN and am very happy I did. There was about 4 questions out of the 80 I received on the actual test that were almost identical to questions from this book. The other girl I know who bought this book only got 75 questions on the NCLEX and said only great things about the book. If you want to decrease your chances of not passing the boards, BUY THIS BOOK!! Not only will you pass, but most likely you will get the minimum (if not close to) the least amount of questions possible.

  4. I used this to study for the boards. It was a great review and practice test. Everything you need is in this book.

  5. Easy to understand, Used for the past year in RN school and many of the questions were similiar to test questions I had in class! Definitely helped my grades!!!!

5 comments about You Can Heal Your Life (Gift Edition).
  1. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the authors message that if you choose the right thoughts you will choose that life you want. By using Affirmations you will affirm that. This is the Law of Attraction and her presentation is wonderful....Another book on this subject which is worth reading in a workbook format is Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook also inspiring to read.

  2. This is a great book.I read it every spare moment I had.I already believed in the [the law of attraction] and this book made me understand it more.If you are wanting to know about [the law of attraction]this is the perfect book.

    Dee

  3. Full of Wisdom and Healing opportunities. I highly recommend this book. Louise Hay is full of Spiritual Love and Wisdom.

  4. I have read at least 20 "personal growth" books in my life, but this book, which I read when I was a cancer patient 20 years ago, was the single most transformational book I've ever read. I was given a 20 percent chance of survival in 1987 and I can say with confidence, the wisdom I gained from this treasure of a book, contributed significantly to my recovery. But more importantly, it taught me not to just to survive, but to truly thrive... I am forever grateful to Louise Hay, and all these years later I still use it as a reference book.

    Erin Gill Reilly

  5. This is a life changing book. I recommend it to anyone who needs some positive influence or needs to learn how to be more positive.

5 comments about Codependent No More: How to Stop Controlling Others and Start Caring for Yourself.
  1. Often those affected by addiction do not realize how "hooked" they are on taking care of the other person. This book will hit home with anyone who has ever tried to control someone else's addiction by being a caretaker. The book illustrates codependency in a way everyone can relate to. It's amazing how your eyes will open when you realize your behaviors are not only harming the other person, but you are losing yourself in the round-n-round rollercoaster of dysfunction. This book will give you the hope and inspiration that things can be different.

  2. Codependent No More is a 'must read' for anyone who has been searching for positive and meaningful growth within themselves. I feel like a thousand pounds have been lifted off my shoulders; I feel a sense of peace within myself that I've never felt before. Other book about relationship with your couple to don't be wrong or dependent, living your own life instead of control your significant other is:I Love You. Now What?: Falling in Love is a Mystery, Keeping It Isn't

  3. This book is a must-read for anyone who has struggled with self-esteem brought on by the abuse of others.

  4. The author talks directly to you as you read and as a reader you are able to grasp so much helpful information. . I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for help with co-dependency and I also recommend for a perfect relationship I Love You. Now What?: Falling in Love is a Mystery, Keeping It Isn't

  5. This book is a sanity saver. There are some inspirational things to take away from reading it. Beattie injects her own life story into this self-help book. Coupled with her other books, it makes for reflective and well written advice.

5 comments about The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long-term Health.
  1. I am a big proponent of consuming a phytonutrient dense diet and organic, unprocessed foods whenever possible but it is important to realize that the author is an ardent activist with PETA and is more concerned about promoting his vegan political cause than the actual facts. If you want to see the "rest of the story" that was conveniently left out of this book I strongly suggest loking at the information here, http://www.westonaprice.org/bookreviews/chinastudy.html.

  2. The China Study is a wonderful book. It is all about nutrition and now we should eat and not eat. I haven't finished it yet, but it is fascinating. A friend recommended it and I highly recommend it to anyone that is wanting to better their health through natural processes and natural foods. It is a real eye opener!!!

  3. This book will blow you away! I was shocked at what I thought was healthy to eat but isn't. Very eye opening. The person who wrote the negative review and directed you to this website http://www.westonaprice.org/bookreviews/chinastudy.html.
Does not have a brain. The credentials of the person who wrote this Anti-China Study article has a BS degree in History. I Don't think I am going to listen to him over a doctor who has spent most of his life researching this data. Be careful which reviews you read and who is writing them. The China Study is very scientific and trustworthy.

  4. I GOT THIS BOOK AND COULD NOT PUT DOWN! I ONLY WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD IT SHIPPED FASTER TO ME.
GOOD SHAPE, GREAT SREVICE. NICE PRICE!

  5. The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long-term Health
This book has life-changing information. But don't let the fact that it is a description of many studies be a deterrent to reading it: the book is written in an extraordinarily readable style.

5 comments about Rapid Interpretation of EKG's, Sixth Edition.
  1. This book was recommended by my cardiologist as the best way to help me read 12 leads better. It works. It is easy to read and the knowledge builds page by page. Highly recommended.

  2. I was told by many paramedics to read this book BEFORE taking an EKG class. I'm glad I listened. It completely breaks down the concepts into a simple, easy to understand format. It can be a bit dry and you need to take a lot of breaks to get through the book, but it makes it so simple to understand. I would highly recommend this book.

  3. This book doesn't seem to be too bad. I do think it is almost a bit childish in its teaching methods though.

  4. This book was somewhat helpful for learning how to interpret EKG's. It could be a primary resource for EMT students. Medical students will probably need a more detailed resource to explain more detailed concepts, such as action potentials. Unfortunately, while searching for this book, I found out that Dale Dubin was convicted in 1986 on drug and child pornography charges, and sentenced to five years in federal prison. You can google "Dale Dubin convicted" or check out snopes.com for the story. The book was good, but if I had know what he did, I would not want to support his book. What a disappointment.

  5. A must have for NP school. Great book. Thanks Amazon for providing the best prices and great services.

5 comments about Nursing Diagnosis Handbook: An Evidence-Based Guide to Planning Care (Nursing Diagnosis Handbook).
  1. Does not give detailed explanations of diagnoses. But list many different diagnoses that you may not have thought of.

  2. This book was recommended by my nursing program and the majority of the class did purchase this book. It has been worthless for me and usually frustrates me more on the stressful nights of care plan writing. Investigate all your options before purchasing any care plan books and pick one that fits with you. Just because this book didn't work for me it might be someone else's saving grace.

  3. This book was so helpful when I had to write care plans for patients. It is so easy to use and takes you step-by-step through the nursing process. I use this book instead of the book required by my school.

  4. I purchased this book for Nursing school for the Fall. Based on the reviews from our instructors, they are very pleased with this book. I am excited to begin using this book in the fall. Amazon was a pleasure to work with. They shipped out much quicker than originally anticipated.

  5. I have the 7th edition which was in our required book list for school. It is one of the only books I have used every semester, and I'm sure I'll use it in this last semester. I couldn't have done my evidence based papers or nursing care plans without it.

5 comments about Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease, Seventh Edition.
  1. Arrived on time, exactly what I asked for, great condition, no problems. I would definitely order again!

  2. This (7th Edition) is a replacement to the Second Edition that I purchased 27 years ago as a requisite text to Human Pathology course in my second year of Optometry school. Similar in size, but with more contemporary concepts, this edition includes many helpful color images and illustrations. Includes up-to-date coverage of many emerging and re-emerging diseases - Lyme, West Nile and MRSA. Includes a CD-ROM that I have yet to explore.

  3. Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of disease is the bible for pathology. You need to have bible for religion and this book for pathology.

  4. the book is great, really it is just what i needed. about the shipping however, it arrived much earlier than expected which is good, but, the spine of the book was quite damaged because the box it was packed into was too big for it and i guess it kept sliding around and getting bumped. This is an expensive book and i think that the packaging should at least ensure it arrives to the owner in mint condition.

  5. This is a great book (series of books). I bought this for pathology along with the pocket guide, review of pathology, and atlas. All of the books correlate together well as long as you have the most current editions. They all bring something great to the table. This bog book is amazing. The text is clear and there are great pictures and it is a great pathology book for medical students. I would imagine it would serve excellently in any other health care discipline too. I highly recommend this book and the other mentioned books too.

5 comments about Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple (Medmaster).
  1. This is a helpful book. I would not agree with the ridiculously positive view many of the reviewers have taken. It's very short, covers only the most important bugs, and does so in a very simplistic fashion. That is all for better or worse (if you are a typical med student with more on your plate than most people can imagine, I'd say better).

At the end of the day micro is just a lot of memorization. When you are trying to learn 10 things about 15 bugs for the next test this book may not be the most helpful. Other books like Levinson's have better comparison charts (really the key to learning medical micro in my mind) and more complete text. The charts and text of a book like Levinson's make it a better reference.

  2. This book is great for understanding bugs from a clinical perspective. It is concise enough to read easily, and thorough enough for the boards. I don't personally utilize mnemonics, but if you are someone who does, you'll find this book loaded with them, as well pictures and other memory devices.

I use Microcards to complement this text, and find that they work really well together.

  3. This is a great text book for micro, the way it is written is
very unique and helps you remember everything, great sense of humor put in to it, which also as a memory factor, I laugh a lot reading about bacteria or viruses, which i could never think is possible while you are studying micro, Bottom line is this is a great text book for micro

  4. I purchased this book so that I could review for a micro class I took, it definitely does the job. It's not as in depth as a textbook, but I wanted a lighter review version and this delivers!

  5. I've heard a lot of people talk about how good this book is so I decided to give it a try. I read the first 10 pages and wavered between finding parts of the book funny and annoying. By the end of it, the only thing I remembered was a rather bad joke and a picture of a bacterium wearing sunglasses. If that helps some people learn, then that's great. However, I failed to learn anything from the random jokes and poorly drawn pictures.

5 comments about Human Anatomy & Physiology (7th Edition).
  1. Anatomy & Physiology was really difficult for me... but with this book and the study guide (which wasn't used at my school but I got on my own) made a HUGE difference in learning the information. The book made the subject interesting and you wanted to learn more. It had helpful tips and analogies for remembering key points. I like the book alot and was able to pull off a "B" which for me was wonderful. The study guide is a helpful tool that I think is a "must have" to go with this book if science is a challenging subject for people.Human Anatomy & Physiology (Study Guide)

  2. I used this book for two semesters of college (A&P I and II). It is thorough in its explanations and gives you a clear understanding of all of the subject matter. It has great illustrations and the chapters are broken up well. It has question and answer sections at the end of each chapter that aid in learning. My professors where both well known from Wash. U and the course was quite difficult but, I recieved A's (and I am no rocket scientist). I had the 6th edition but I have worked out of the 7th, both are sufficient. ENJOY!

  3. A Dictionary of Nursing
Human Anatomy and Physiology Edition 7 is excellent in defining what is needed when you are studying.
studying nursing you need a book that can deliver the message quickly and precisely
the pictures make all the difference and the size of the pictures can help you understand what the part of the body's function is.
I have not covered a full science course but i am finding this book has helped with the understanding of the complexity of the body.

  4. First let me say that Human Anatomy and Physiology is not an easy subject. I'm a good student and I appreciate a good textbook. The level of detail in this text is very good. The problem is the way the author presents it. First because there is so much detail, it would be helpful if the author had indicated some way to discern the trivial from the essential. Do I have to master every detail? Second, the information is given in a chatty style of writing. That's fine but it takes too long to piece together the relevant details when they're scattered non-linearly around the page. And time is what you don't have when you're studying A & P. Third, the author doesn't know when to end a chapter. Sometimes it felt like she was getting paid by the word. Or perhaps she was trying to stay ahead of her competition and didn't want to miss including every bit of info however trivial, if her competition was including it in their textbook. Fourth, the author tended to use substitute terms for the same thing - way before the topics were presented in later chapters. For instance, neuron, cell body, and soma all mean the same thing - and once I got to the nervous system section, it became very basic. But way back in epithelium, connective tissue, and muscles it confused the heck out of me. Marieb does this a lot, probably to keep her writing from becoming tedious and boring. But, it's a text book - it's perfectly okay to be tedious if it makes things easier to understand!

  5. Product was shipped quickly (as requested) and arrived in the exact condition as desribed! Excellent seller!

5 comments about The Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy, 2008.
  1. This is an invaluable resource in terms of content. It is the pocket size, which is convenient. Understand that the small size means that the type is incredibly small. You might need a microscope to read this!

  2. For all medical practitioners this Sanford Guide is the definitive pocket guide for infectious disease treatment. Updated annually with the latest treatment recommendations from professional groups. I use it nearly daily when considering antibiotic selection and disease treatment.

  3. The book had all the information I wanted but the print was totally unreadable due to size...I opted for the more expensive spiral bound version.

  4. for medical doctors who work in a busy health unit and need at any time a handy book to review antibiotics, bugs and side effects.
very-very helpfull for clinicians with a subspesialty (rheumatology, nephrology, hematology etc) who need fast to have access on information such as the appropriate antibiotic and the first in line medication.

  5. We all need this pocket book to stay current on Abx. Rx and Tx.--period. Dosing, too, and specific infective regimens are also noted. My only complaint is that sometimes it is confusing and tedious to FIND what you need. An updated charting system, and easier to find categories would be nice in the next edition.
