  1. This movie was a cross between not very good special effects and great special effects. I just wish there had been a second movie made, I'd really like to see more about spawns new life...

  2. As a fan of the character I'd say this is a disappointment especially considering the fact that Todd himself was involved. I recommend the comics which are available in trade paperbacks or the animated show which is available on DVD because this doesn't do justice for the character.

  3. Another great comic book character ruined by a terrible movie adaptation.

Premise: Just like the comic book. Al Simmons is an ex-government agent who gets killed by his boss's underling during his final hit. He goes to hell and makes a deal with Malebogia that he would lead his Malebogia's army if he gets to see his wife Wanda(played by the brutally gorgeous Theresa Randall) again. Violator is ordered to keep an eye on Spawn to make sure he follows through on his promise.

Opinion: This movie could have been great so what went wrong? Miscast. Michael Jai White is perfect as Spawn but whoever thought that John Leguizamo made a perfect Violator needs a swift kick in the rear end. Granted that Violator is an annoying creep in the comic book but John Leguizamo makes him more cartoonish and goofy than the comic book ever did! Martin Sheen is usually good but he was not at his best in this movie. His performance was kind of questionable. I gave it two stars because its okay at times like Spawn's battle with Violator and Spawn crashing in on his former boss at a banquet. Other than that the script is weak and kind of does a disservice to the Todd Mcfarlane classic. If you want the real Spawn check out the animated series. Its leaps and bounds over this New Line Cinema tragedy.

  4. The comic book is really great and the movie trys to equal that greatness and fails; however, as a stand alone movie it is very excellent.

I just hope they keep making other Spawn movies (with the length between the only one and present day I would have to say we aren't going to get another).

This is just another repackage of the movie from years ago. The only difference is the Director's Cut. Meaning its extra scenes and other bonus footage.

You have to be one that likes the extras to purchase this as if you had the original dvd of this you probably could pass on this one.

  5. I watched "Spawn" when it first came out, and for a 9-year-old kid in 1997, it was nothing short of epic. A recent re-viewing, however, was particularly damaging to the action spectacle that I had kept in my memory, and I'm sorry to say that I'm no longer a fan of the film. Based on comic guru Todd McFarlane's magnum opus of the same name, "Spawn" was largely a showcase of what you could achieve with special effects and CGI animation ten years ago; needless to say, the near-monthly ascension of such technology has left the film almost completely obsolete in this day and age. With no memorable acting and a storyline that was recently reworked into "Ghost Rider", I'd think that the only fans of the films were those that saw it when it first came out and continue to put up with it.

Al Simmons (Michael Jai White, "Exit Wounds") is a deadly mercenary deceived into furthering the political agenda of evil corporation-owner Jason Wynn (Martin Sheen, "The West Wing"). Upon discovering all the trouble he's unknowingly been causing, Simmons wants out, but is double-crossed and murdered by Wynn, who is in cahoots with a demonic clown (John Leguizamo, "Executive Decision") eager for Simmons' soul. Following a pact with the devil and a five-year internment in hell, Simmons returns to earth to find the life and world he knew long gone, with the clown gleefully enticing him to bring on the apocalypse. Only by regaining his humanity with the aid of a mysterious wizard (Nicol Williamson, "Excalibur") can he foil the plans of hell and protect the family he was forced to leave behind.

If you're going to watch "Spawn", pick up the director's cut - the theatrical release is relentless in its "let's-make-it-watchable-for-teens" homogeny: cuts and voiceovers galore, etc. However, even with the inserted cursing, sexual references, and increased violence of the unrated version, the film is in trouble: moving at a breakneck pace that allows no room for character development, the acting - especially Sheen's performance - is left looking extremely hammy, and the numerous action scenes are no more than showcases for what the SFX department can up with (i.e. the ballroom and chase scenes mainly highlight Spawn's animated cape) - in other words, there's no substance behind the shootouts, chases, and fisticuffs. Co-stars Theresa Randle ("Space Jam"), Melinda Clarke ("The O.C."), and D.B. Sweeney ("The Cutting Edge") aren't given all too much time to add to the story, so more or less, they're just there to fill in the roles occupied in the comic.

If the film does have a definitive asset, it's Leguizamo's performance: with the help of a truckload of makeup and prosthetics, he brings the Clown to life with a dirty grace and soiled charm that even the comics or later animated series were unable to capture. In addition, the Violator (Clown's monstrous alter-ego) is just about the best animation in the movie: its three scenes are highlights of the film, some of which still look decent today.

Sadly, these two fellows only make up so much of the movie, and thus, we're left with the comic book-style pacing, a rather lacklustre Spawn costume (White's makeup is cool, but without the cape, he looks rather diminutive), and the overabundance of dated CGI. The scenes in hell are particularly difficult to watch to folks who have seen "The Lord of the Rings" and "Pirates of the Caribbean", and previous jaw-droppers like Spawn crashing through the ceiling at the ball will now qualify as "ho-hum" in quality.
Since "Spawn", director Mark Dippé has been forced into strict TV and DTV work, and Nicol Williamson has yet to appear in another film: how much this actually has to do with the contents of the movie is unsure, but it's poetic to think that "Spawn" proves the point that even the best-funded of movies cannot rely solely on technology to leave a mark in cinema history. Give it a shot if you're a fan of the likes of "Hellboy" or "Blade" - non-action fans, however, steer clear.

5 comments about Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Crawling Hand.
  1. I love this series and can't get enough. I was so sad to see the show end.

  2. What pathetic dialogue and horrible screen shots. The hand only has a close up, or a distant shot. Your 9 year old could do a better job. So why not laugh with Joel and his robot friends? Their dialogue is much better. This is a great movie to put down.

  3. As a long-time MSTie, I would like to offer a different viewpoint on this episode.

First, the not-so-good: This is definitely not the funniest season one episode, nor is it the most "different" (in so far as it is a sci-fi/horror flick that could just as easily have been part of season eight, say), and there are a few glaring moments when the jokes just stop coming. As a result, some viewers may find this DVD disappointing.

Having said that, I am not disappointed. I think this is easily one of the most entertaining episodes in season one, even if it is not the funniest. I find that some of the older episodes are quite enjoyable without being as hilarious or as polished as the show would later become; other examples of this would include The Black Scorpion and The Crawling Eye. This film is a great example of why I got into B-movies in the first place, before I was introduced to MST3K: the story is bizarre, the actor's performances uneven, the special effects are poor, and there are odd moments of levity juxtaposed against a confusing backdrop of gloom.

Also, keep in mind that while admittedly awful, this movie is far above the level of train-wrecks like Manos, The Incredibly Strange Creatures, or the Creeping Terror. No, I would not recommend watching it unMSTed, but I think that it is easier to wade thru then a lot of Best Brain's other material. So if you're like me, and derive some of your enjoyment of this series from elements other than the riffs themselves, this could be a worthwhile purchase. If, on the other-hand, you don't care about the host segments or the films themselves, you probably should look elsewhere. But, even this episode has a few classic lines -- I will never get over "Tell him I'm smoking" or "O magic lamp...." ^_-

  4. Too funny for words. That part where Syd Saylor as the soda jerk, just has me on floor, everytime. " No dancing, not allowed." " No rats, not allowed." Ha ha Hee Hee Ho!!

  5. There is an incredible divergence of styles in this.....On the one hand (unintentional), the total lack of presence and being of Alan Hale Jr. as he blunders through another character. Take a 180 and you're face to face with the over the top, shirt partially unbuttoned, arms flailing wildly for no reason method and style of Peter Breck. It's a wonder he took the time to smoke....

Smack in betwixt is a male lead who seems incapable of getting really excited about anything....A disengaged hand, a girlfriend on the beach....this guy is asleep at the wheel.

  1. In the movie phenomenon George (John Travolta) see a light in the sky in which knocks him off of his feet. As days and months go by he becomes smarter. He starts reading up to five books a day of all of his interest's languages, cars, love, nature etc. As more time goes on George then develops telekinesis. He starts moving objects with his mind in which he like to call it a "partnership" The whole town is chocked amazed, worried and scared for George because he is a well known respected man in town and everything he does is odd. George the ends up having a tumor in his brain and it is only a matter of time before he is deceased.

I think this movie is one my favorites because it's very interesting. It has a great attention getter and it's just fascinating. I highly recommend people either rent or buy this movie!!

  2. Phenomenon is a pleasant film with fine acting (particularly John Travolta and Robert Duvall), beautiful setting and photography, and nice score by Thomas Newman. Unfortunately, the 2.35:1 widescreen DVD is not enhanced for 16:9 TVs, which makes it a real shame.

  3. When i bought this movie, I really did not know what to expect. I had been told it was a good movie, and that is all i had to go on. In the simplest terms, it is a great movie, although just shy of the five out of five mark. I consider this one of John Travolta's best performances. There was enough humour to keep me satisfied but it did not draw away from the drama of the movie. I urge you to watch this movie... you want regret it.

  4. I saw this movie, fell in love with this movie.
Touching and heartfelt from start to finish.
The psychic abilities don't detract from the story, it just makes it more interesting.
Brilliant performances from the cast, good direction, good pacing.
A great family film, maybe not for the very young though.
Phenomenon is easily one of the best Hollywood has given us.
    Highly recommended.

  5. I love this movie. It will always be part of my permanent collection for its timeless brilliance and beauty. I know that at times it can be a bit sappy or outdated as some have mentioned, but I have watched this movie dozens of times and have yet to be disappointed. It is interesting, thought provoking, romantic and emotional. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

5 comments about Never Ending Story.
  1. Only a died in the wool grump could possibly dislike this engaging fantasy movie ,based on Michael Ende's novel of the same name .It is imaginative and thoughtful. It revolves around a young boy named Baslian -played by Barret Oliver-who lives with his Dad (Gerald Mcraney)who gets on his case for Basilan's constant daydreaming .He is bullied at school and desperately misses his mother who has recently died .One day he cuts school and wanders into a mysterious bookshop where he picks up a book entitled The Neverending Story and as he begins to read the book the events in the story come to life.
The key figure in the tale is a child like Princess (Tami Stronach). She is ill and fears that if she dies her land ,the land known as Fantasia , will be taken over and its essence destroyed .She sends a young warrior Atreyu (Noah Hathaway) to find a cure for her lingering illness. What menaces Hantasia is a plague of "nothing".The people of the land are losing hope and forgetting their apirations and Fantasia is dying as a result.Atreyu's journeyings bring him into contact with all manner of weird and wonderful creatures ,and gradually Basilian becomes sucked into and becomes part of the story himself.
The tale with its state of the art for its era)animation ,puppetry and prostetics owes a great deal to Alice in Wonderland and ,in some sequences to the science fiction classic The Day the Earth Stood Still. with traces of The Wizard of Oz and The Dark Crystal .The special effects team of Brian Johnson (Alien )and Bruce Nicholson (The Empire Strikes Back)create menacing swamps and spooky wooods on a Bavarian sound stage which arte easily the equal of Industrial Light and Magic and are a vital part of a movie which is excellent for children but which also has a vital message for adults .Yes -this is a message movie folks .The warning is clear among the fantasy and charm-it warns of a generation that has turned its back on imagination in favour of media in which everything is laid out on a plate for the audience .It si apen of praise to then power and importance of the imagination .Our imaginations are under threat -amd if that does not worry you ,it sure as Gehenna should!

The message here is a tad simplistic but overall it is a bold ,and daring movie with something to say

It remains ,still, among the best movies of its era

  2. This film effected me in a way that no other ever did as a child. When I saw it recently for the first time as an adult, I now appreciate the film now more than I did before. A fantasy that speaks to human nature and the thoughts of child and man alike. May I also add that the special effects here were at times beautiful and blow a lot of the modern fake looking computer graphics out of the water. Film makers should think about looking back into expensive animatronics and stop motion. It is better in my opinion.

  3. This movie is charming. It has fantasy elements, real life childhood struggles and a real personable touch. If you are an avid reader you will relate to the lead character in this film. While I did not experience the bullying the lead character did as a child I definately related to his love of books and the escapism they represent. It's a thrill that this movie really puts you back in touch with, in only the way a child can experience. That is probably my favorite part of this film. Books were exciting worlds as a child, complete mysteries to be revealed; this movie captures that and brings it to life in a fantastic way. I thought it was clever and charming and very entertaining, fun for all. I still enjoy this film all these years later.

  4. The NeverendingStory is a children's classic film. At least in my mind it is. I remember growing up watching this movie, and how science fiction movies today that has that same premise in mind wants to make magic just like the Neverending Story like the Spiderwick Chronicles. No movie can compare to children's novels like the Chronicles of Narnia, but there is something still magical of the Neverending Story, and how it can touch each and every one of us at some time in our lives. I just have fond memories of this movie.

  5. German director Wolfgang Petersen, the man responsible for the harrowing WWII epic Das Boot, may seem like an odd choice to direct a film adaptation of Michael Ende's children's book, The Neverending Story. However, his knowledge of technical filmmaking and his passion for adventure stories proved to be the perfect combination, as can be seen in this campy classic 1984 film.

The story concerns young Bastian, an imaginative boy who prefers to retreat into books rather than face the harsh truths of reality, as he borrows a magical book from a bookstore and reads it in the creepy attic of his school. All his life Bastian has been bullied by other kids at school and misunderstood by his overly practical widower of a father. But as Bastian's mind absorbs the details of the book, The NeverEnding Story, he finds both escapism and empowerment while reading of a heroic young hunter named Atreyu. Atreyu is a member of the Plainspeople and he was chosen to save his world, Fantasia (in the book the fantasy world is known as Fantastica), from the devastation of The Nothing, a living void which spreads across Fantasia devouring all in its path and leaving nothingness in its wake. As Bastian follows Atreyu's daring exploits, he becomes astonished to discover that Fantasia really exists and that he may be the only one who can save it from oblivion, so long as he finds the courage in himself to do as he dreams.

Since the film's release, it has become something of a family classic, but after almost twenty-five years it's hard to imagine this film having the longevity of the fantasy classics that preceded it. The film is charming and entertaining, but it lacks the heart of films like The Wizard of Oz and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and lacks the sophistication of a film like The Dark Crystal. The film does, however, have some ingenious special effects and some truly bizarre costumes and make-ups, which are at time reminiscent of the first Star Wars film.
The plot itself deviates from that of the book, but does so in order to make the film accessible to the average viewer.
With a wondrous array of characters and creatures including a Rock Biter, a racing snail, a fearsome wolf-like creature known as the Gmork, a Luck Dragon named Falkor, and the fragile and beautiful Childlike Empress, it's not hard to see why the film has such great appeal.

  1. Greetings From Tromaville!!

By now, the most devoted Troma fan knows all about Eric Louzil. He is among the greatest of Troma directors, and he does not let us loyal Tromites down with this gem, "Lust For Freedom".

A former cop who is trying to find herself is framed for possession and is taken to a female prison. Overall, it is a laughably bad movie that boasts a wonderfully cliche' soundtrack done by 80's hair band Grim Reaper.

If you want to see one of Troma's camp classics, check out "Lust For Freedom"! Also check out "Fortress of Amerikkka", "Class of Nuke 'Em High 2: Subhumanoid Meltdown", and "Nuke 'Em High 3" which were also done by Eric Louzil.

    -Chas Kangas Jr.

  2. I only give this movie one star because that is as low as the ratings scale goes. If it were up to me, I would give this movie a negative rating. It was so bad, in fact, that I couldn't watch it all the way through to the end, although I tried. Why, you may ask, did I purchase this DVD in the first place? Here is my reason: I bought it because I wanted to see if a girl I had dated in college in the early 1970's was indeed one of the extras in the 'film'. I had been in love with Donna Lederer while I attended college with her in Queens,NY and she had always told me that she aspired to be a movie actress. We parted our ways and lost touch in the early 1970's. To make a short story long, here it is 2006 and I just typed her name into the Google Search Engine and lo and behold, her names comes up in the movie data base as an extra in 'Lust For Freedom'. In fact, they did not even bother to give her role a name: she is listed as 'Donna' played by Donna Lederer. Still, I had to be sure it was her, so I got the DVD and watched it. Fortunately for me, her part comes in the first half of the movie and as I watched I saw that it was indeed her, Donna, the girl I'd been in love with a long time ago. After seeing her in her acting debut, I felt sadness: she had a couple of lines and screams as she was abused by a sadistic female prison guard. Not a very auspicious beginning to an acting career. I searched the internet to see if she'd had any other and better roles since then, but alas, that was the only listing for her. I can only say that I hope that life has been better and kinder to Donna than that bit part in the movie. Wherever she is these days, I sincerely hope Donna is faring well and finding fulfillment.

  3. If you are looking for something racy, race away from this. Poorly shot, poorly edited, poorly acted and just plain hard to watch. Sure this type of film is for turning your brain off, but the film itself is such a turn off the only thing to do is turn it off.

  4. I am not a cult fan of this kind of movie. Not erotic, not anaimated, not good. Intelligent, college educated woment who like erotic will not like this. Don't do it.

5 comments about Warlock: Armageddon.
  1. Warlock:The Armageddon is an enjoyable watch. I bought this DVD because 1.Anthony Hickox directed it. 2.Monika Schnarre has a small part in it. I hadn't seen it before when I purchased this film, but I enjoyed it. I love what Anthony Hickox did with this sequel. The special effects, a good cast. I love Paula Marshall (from 'Hellrasier 3)- what a talented and likeable actress. I got a thrill seeing Monika Schnarre again in a small part as a runway model.

I hope that anthony Hickox would make more films like this.

  2. I really enjoyed this movie. It's goofy and the Druids vs. the Warlock history is a bit silly but overall quite enjoyable. It has better pacing than the first film and seems less disjointed even though the Warlock's search for the runestones is told in a series of little vignette's. Some of the "druid training" scenes are quite beautiful with very creative direction to attain subtle effects which nicely contrast the Warlock's macabre magic.

As I said before the story is a little silly but I liked it better than the witch-hunter sent through time story of the first film and the forgettable kids in a haunted house approach of the third.

  3. "Warlock: The Armageddon" was directed by Anthony Hickox, who, at the time, was on a roll producing a slew of cheesy, but fun B-horror films. "Warlock" is no exception, with an appropriately fun, over-the-top performance by Julian Sands as the Warlock, with a forgettable-yet-somehow-familiar supporting cast. For this sequel, new composer Mark McKenzie took the musical reins from Jerry Goldsmith, and his second feature film effort is an entertaining venture into fantasy with horror overtones.

Mark McKenzie's treatment of the film of more as a fantasy than a hard-core horror movie is appropriate, as the character story between the two young Druid Warriors takes a prominent frontal role in the film. The Druid theme is heroic and beautiful, with a touch of wonder and innocence, taking a cue from John William's Force theme to represent the protagonists. This theme is repeated throughout the score, and these melodic performances truly make the album.

However, this is a movie about the rise of Satan's son, and thus the main titles rise with a dark choral piece written in Latin for the Catholic Mass. The Warlock's theme is dark, imposing, and perhaps a little spooky, but not overly so... and it's melodic enough to make for a fun listen. In fact, our ears never suffer the loud screeches of string and percussive crashes that plague many horror scores, as McKenzie keeps the score harmonic throughout. The album wraps up with a nice suite of all the main themes from the score.

Overall, the score is an entertaining and pleasant listen. The sound quality is average, but not great on this recording, but the quality of the music makes up for it, especially the performances of the heroic Druid theme. The track "Ken's Magic" features perhaps the best performance of this theme, and this track alone, along with the performances in the main titles, make the album worth checking out.

  4. Warlock 2 is the original campy 90's Goth Sequel that I was glad Julian Sands signed on for. I couldn't wait to find and add this DVD into my library just because of him and also because of the sheer joy of watching this campy movie over and over again. Watch Warlock and then pop in the sequel to get it. Great Gothy Fun to Watch!

  5. I think this movie is where I started to walk out on movies I didn't like.
I still can't believe I made it from start to finish with this movie.
The main warlock guy is a good actor, why he wasted his time with this b movie trash is beyond me.
The rest of the actors are just plain bad.
The fx are laughable, even back then, they just weren't that good.
The only cool part is where Satan comes out of the pit and even that looked so phony!!!!!
I think this movie was in the theaters for about a week and it got yanked because no one would watch it.
    I wish I hadn't.
The gore was so excessive, I'm sorry but I remember the "explosion" in the elevator......YUCK!!!!
The story stunk, the fx stunk, the acting except for the "star" stunk.
I'd put this movie in my top ten worst movies any day of the week.
    AVOID!!!

  1. The only reason to see this movie is to gawk at bodybuilder Sue Price's sensationally muscular physique. Watching her muscles move is worth sitting through what is otherwise a real stinker of a film. For lovers of female muscle only. (But Oh! will they enjoy it!)

  2. I would watch Nemesis 2 only if I needed a fix for action and other cheap thrills. Most of the beginning of this movie is frustrating because everybody is speaking in a tribal language; the makers of the movie obviously didn't think enough to provide subtitles. The action does pick up, however, when the robot Nebula shows up and starts killing people. Nebula chases the heroin, Alex, through the desert and craziness ensues.

  3. For "Nemesis 2." This doozy of an action film lives up to the solitary blurb on the front of the box, "Made in Canada." Perhaps this fact is responsible for the incorrect grammar and poor spelling (not to mention inaccuracy) of the explanation on the back. [...]However, seeing as these are all false, "Nemesis 2" is a seemingly random jumble of footage strung together with perhaps a grand total of 25 lines of poorly written dialogue. I would have liked to seen the script for this movie, as I imagine it would have fit neatly onto one sheet of looseleaf paper. If you can quell the rising urge to vomit that this movie induces, you are in for one of the wildest, most non-sensical, watered-down action movies that you'll ever see. "Nemesis 2" is a definate don't-miss for fans of the "bad B-movie" genre. It earns every star of its one-star rating. [...]

  4. I saw N3 first on cable and enjoyed it. So I wanted to see N2 to find out how the whole saga started. I enjoyed this, too. Director Albert Pyun definitely has talent and style. The script, though, was fairly standard post-apocalyptic stuff. Bodybuilder Sue Price was worth watching. She has a strong screen presence and one helluva body, too.

  1. The special effects in this movie are jokes. The creatures look exactly like furry puppets. The video quality is a shame. It's faded and grainy. The acting is like that of a bad movie show. The Gremlins is more exciting, interesting and entertaining. I regret I bought it even though it cost me only $10.

  2. Critters is one of those rare crossover movies that's just as entertaining and fun for the adults as it is for it's targeted younger audience (PG-13). Think Monster Squad, The Gate, or House and you get a pretty good idea at how the movie is structured with enough of an edge to get some actual tension and jumps out of you without having to develop into a terrifying bloodbath. The story revolves around alien creatures (think 80's toy Popples with big teeth) who end up on earth with an insatiable appetite and ready to eat anything and everything in sight. Horror vet Dee Wallace Stone (The Howling, Cujo, Halloween remake) heads up a cast of likeable and believable characters trying to find a way to survive and repel the invasion. The "Critters" themselves are charming and funny while still being vicious and threatening and steal the screen everytime they show up. This is more like a 3.5 star movie (for what it is) but is worth rounding up do to tha ability to enjoy it with your kids (especially around Halloween). Steer clear of the lousy sequels that were cranked out after this movies success.

  3. This is a classic and after watching it on DVD its not hard to see why. Original concept, believable actors and acting, decent script. Compared to the sequels and remakes coming out of hollywood today, its stands tall. However, after seeing the DVD version, the film needs restored. Thats why i only gave it 4 stars, the film is so dark now that its hard to see whats going on as most of the action is at night. The colors need restored, it all seems like the master copy was not taken care of. Not surprising, but some effort could have been made to clean it up before transfering to DVD.

  4. B-movies seem to have a special place in my heart. This was no excpetion. Another one of those 80's campy sci-fi movies that makes you wonder why you like this movie and how come you haven't changed the channel, lol.

Basically, this is about interstellar furballs known as the Crites. They are pure eating machines. They also have porcupine like spines on their backs that they can shoot out and paralyze anything or anyone. Bounty Hunters from another world chase the Crites throughout the galaxy and locate them on Earth. These bounty hunters are like shape-shifters. They come to earth with no face and they can copy whoever they look at. One in particular copies the face of a rockstar it sees on the T.V. Another copies the town drunk; Charlie. The Crites eventually terrorize the quiet farm town and the Brown family on their farm. The Bounty Hunters in the meantime blow up anything that moves (not including people) in there search for the Crites. How times do you hear them say," We want the Crites!"

All in all this is a good movie. You gotta love those cute little critters! One time (not at bandcamp) they join together like transformers and create this huge critter. It's also funny to watch them communicate with each other. Apparently their language can be translated to english :)

The DVD comes with an alternate ending as well as widescreen and full screen formats. Another great addition to the DVD library.

My favorite part is when the Critters terrorize the Brown family on their farm. When the Critters have them trapped in a bedroom and Jay Brown (Billy Green Bush from Jason Goes to Hell) fires a shotgun, they Critters seem shocked and one says," They have guns?" Another say no, and another shot is fired by the father and kills one of the Critters. That same Critter that wondered, then said a expeditive that I can't repeat. Lets just say it's the curse on the top of the list, lol.

  5. CRITTERS is my favorite movie of it's type. I like it even more than GREMLINS (which I love), and far more than any of the other "puppet-monster" movies that came out (Ghoulies, Hobgoblins, etc.). CRITTERS takes us to the tiny town of Grovers Mill, Kansas, the site of an alien invasion. It seems that a renegade bunch of crites ( little, furry, carnivorous space monsters) have escaped from intergalactic prison, and headed straight toward earth for a snack (us)! This leads to a night of horror and hilarity, when the rolly creatures arrive and begin eating any / all flesh in sight! Two extraterrestrial bounty hunters are dispatched to hunt down and destroy the crites before they can fully satisfy their insatiable appetites. The bounty hunters are hilarious, as they can make themselves look like anyone they encounter, which means that one of them looks like a then-current (1986) MTV-type rock star, while his cohort winds up being the sheriff's deputy, the town preacher, and a farm-hand! Now, THAT'S comedy! Most of the CRITTER action takes place at the Brown family farm, where the lovely, legendary Dee Wallace (The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, Cujo, The Frighteners, etc.) plays Mrs. Brown, trying to survive the alien onslaught w/ her husband and kids. M. Emmet Walsh (Blood Simple) is the sheriff, and a young, pony-tailed (!!) Billy Zane (Dead Calm, Memory) is the ill-fated boyfriend of the Brown's teenage daughter. CRITTERS is a fun, semi-scary movie w/ cute lil' fur-balls that have huge mouths full of razor-sharp, flesh-ripping teeth! Enjoy...
