5 comments about Star Trek Voyager - The Complete Seasons 1-7.
- Enjoyed this series on tv, and enjoying it even more now that I can watch it in its entirety. This series did a fine job of character development. I also like the occasional references to the previous series Deep Space Nine. Many of the special features are excellent as well, describing the technology of the time (some of it surprisingly simple), and how ideas for the show had some roots in real science. A quality viewing experience...
- I would like to say the videos were great but I did not receive them. The retailer tried to cheat me out of my money.
- To call this DVD set "Pirate Quality" would be an ABSOLUTE insult to video pirates around the world. I have seen some pretty awful quality in my time, from $65 Pakistani Bagpipes, to 25 cent screwdrivers that snap in half the firt time you try to drive a screw.
Then when you think quality cannot possibly get any worse, VOÍLA! Along comes the ST Voyager DVD set to make a liar out of you.
The packaging is pathetic! Paramount must have spent more on buying off the conscience of their quality-control personnel than they would have on real packaging.
I TRIED to watch the first episode and it kept sputtering and stopping. I thought, "Not to worry, I have an industrial strength DVD ripper. I'll burn a backup." Then I thought, "Just in case, I'll start disc 2 ripping while I'm watching the first." My industrial strength ripper not only couldn't read the bloody thing, it didn't even recognize it as being a video type disc! That's where my efforts stop.
Tomorrow the whole set goes to Paramount in a plain brown wrapper with a simple note: I don't want a refund. Just keep this junk!
Cheers,
Drew
- I've been asked to rate this purchase. Well, I ordered the entire set of Star trek, and that's what I got! And I must say, it turns out that I got seven seasons of Star Trek! Yup, seasons one through seven.
Sorry, couldn't help but have fun with this. Yes, I'm happy with my purchase. But being a trekki (trekky?)I already knew every word of every episode before they said it!.
If you are thinking of buying TNG, then I suggest you buy it!
- The only reason i am reviewing this is because there are some reviews here that are wrongly giving Deep Space Nine a bad time! Voyager is dull and boring and the worst in the Star trek family it had so much potential and failed miserably.
Deep Space Nine is light years ahead and still stands up welll with todays Sci-Fi TV. It is deeper and tells a story it does not simply push a reset button each week and move on.
Voyager will not leave a lasting impression like DS9.

5 comments about Space Ghost and Dino Boy: The Complete Series.
- ive been looking for this set for awhile. it has a really detailed documentary about the creator, alex toth as well. awesome stuff!!
- What can you say about a 1960's cartoon series? Well, the title says it all.."It is just as I remember." What that means is it is a fun and simple series that does not pretend to be anything more than Saturday morning entertainment. I have purchased this series as well as the original Jonny Quest series (excellent, btw) and found them both to be very enjoyable. If you remember watching Space Ghost as a child, then I have no trouble telling you to purchase the DVD set.
- I was thrilled when I heard that Birdman and Space Ghost were being released - with all episodes complete. Some have not been overtly thrilled by the packaging but seriously who cares? Be happy that these are being released! Space Ghost holds up well (as do the other great Hanna-Barbera cartoons of the era)and you have to watch them in their context. The price is right - great value for money; much better than some other retro stuff that comes out ridiculously priced AND not always complete. (I love the way they call some of those releases 'definitive').
Let's hope that we see like-releases of Herculoids, Shazzan, etc. Bring it all back - hopefully they're starting to get it right: complete episodes, simple packaging and low cost.
- As Hanna-Barbera created the action/adventure genre for cartoons in the 1960s with JONNY QUEST, SPACE GHOST set it off for their superhero line. The voice acting is classic, and the character designs by Alex Toth stands the test of time. The DINO BOY shorts are watchable, too, but SPACE GHOST sets it off. The COUNCIL OF EVIL arc closed out the first season nicely, not to mention introduces three other series from the H-B line that, God willing, Warner Bros. DVD will release sometime in the near future:
HERCULOIDS
SHAZZAN!
MOBY DICK & THE MIGHTY MIGHTOR
Until then, I will have to seek out the bootlegs on iOffer.com. Let's hope that some exec at Warner Bros. home video division will get wise and release these other gems by H-B and Alex Toth in its restored glory, with extras and commentary to boot.
- my kids want to see this every day. that tells you about how interesting this story is for little kids. you always have one story about space ghost, and the following would be one about dino boy. 2 different worlds, one up in the space and the other back in the dino time. very interesting for kids

5 comments about Space Camp.
- If you love Space Camp, this will bring you back to the old-school space camp days. It is a very unbelievable experience that would never happen, but it is interesting to see the kids pull together to get through their problems.
- This was a childhood favorite of mine, and i was so happy to stumble upon the dvd so i can share it with my own children...and they LOVE IT!!!!
- Just One Warning: If you plan to go -- or to send one of your children -- to the actual Space Camp, DO NOT see this movie. Otherwise, have fun . . .
- I originaly watched this movie with my kids when they were little. It has been my all time favorite ever since. You can sit back, relax, not think and just enjoy the movie - and get some laughs in the meantime.
- This was a pretty good movie. I saw it several times while it was in the theater. It, unfortunately, had the bad timing of being released shortly after the 1986 Challenger accident. Had it been released earlier I think it would have found an audience and done pretty well. I recently showed this movie to my nieces and nephews and they really enjoyed it, espcially Jinx, the "handyman" robot in the movie. It's a good movie for everyone in the family. It has Steven Spielberg's wife Kate Capshaw, Lea Thompson from Caroline in the City, Joaquin Phoenix (although he's listed as Leif Phoenix in the creidts) and Kelly Preston, John Travolta's wife. Enjoy!

5 comments about The Muppets' Wizard of Oz.
- The latest entry in the Muppets franchise is probably the Henson family's last attempt to make the Muppets "cool" and "modern". Numerous parts of this movie seem contrived solely to make it appeal to the MTV generation. This includes the casting of Ashanti and Queen Latifah as the principal human roles, the cameo of Quentin Tarantino, the strong stereotypical Mexican accent by Toto, and the totally out-of-place CGI scene with Gonzo and the chicken. All of these distract from the movie. But what stays true to the franchise is the Muppets sense of ridiculous humor and witty dialogue. Whether it be Scooter's appearance as the Wizard's secretary, to Beaker's disappearing head, the roles of the muppets themselves were great. And the scene in Poppyfields is sure to draw laughs from crowds of all ages. Overall, I expected better, but not by much.
- Our children are totally ripped off with what Hollywood produces these days, and now they have shamed the infamous and beloved Muppets. NOT for children who you want to appreciate morals, clean comedy, or have any character at all.
- This is a cute spin off! Alot of adult humor and it is funny & cute.
- Of all the stupid things. I love the original muppets. We had a whole collection of the movies while I was growing up. IF you want a classic...you're looking in the wrong place. I'm a huge fan of the wizard of OZ as well...and this was so dumb.
If you're wanting to buy this for your kids...DONT! They have horrible "jokes" that are no where NEAR approprate for kids. This was a disgrace to the muppets. If you want a good muppet show, go back and get muppet treasure island, Hey Cinderella, The Frog prince, or the muppet movie. Trust me...and the other thousands of reviews, it's not even worth it.
- i bought this after my son saw the original wizard of oz on tv. i didn't want to spend the 24$ on the real one. this was definitely a good second choice.... it was cute and a well made re-make of the movie.

5 comments about Crossworlds.
- I bought two sci-fi movies at the same time...this one and Velocity Trap. I have to say, I enjoyed Crossworlds far more than the other.
- Could be confusing at times and definitely needed better writers. Not a movie i recommend at all. Too bad because they had a good storyline and good actors.
- Interesting movie, definitely not on the top of my list (or I'm guessing anyone else over 12), but a decent watch and it has Rutger Hauer!
- Even though I'm more of a Sci-Fi person than Sci-Fi Fantasy, Crossworlds was a nice entertaining film that kept me going without taking a break. Even though the plot was basically about a young man trying to develop into a real man, the show had it's interesting moments filled with action. I like the movie, and I will watch it again one day.
Thomas
- A bit like an episode of night rider. There's less plot here than a Xena episode, but it's fun and there are a couple of fight scenes. It looks like the writer didn't think about the premise much, since there is next to no explanation (beyond what you see in the blurb on the back of the case).

5 comments about The Wizard of Oz (Three-Disc Collector's Edition).
- My 4 year old daughter is in love with this movie. We had an old copy on video tape that was on it's last leg. The DVD is a wonderful way to preserve an old happy childhood favorite to pass on to the next generation. I also bought it used and it was in perfect condition and arrived in a short time.
- Very pleased with this product! This collection has all the back ground history of making the "Wizard of Oz" movie.
- Who does not love Dorothy Gale, her adorable dog, Toto, and her lovable and musical friends, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion? Were we not all dazzled by the extraordinary color change from black, white, and sepia, to a brilliant display of the new technology of Technicolor, altering the entire mood of the film? The Wizard of Oz is beloved by many, and remembered by all. Personally, I grew up watching and adoring this movie and singing all of the unforgettable, catchy tunes. I have even dressed up as Dorothy for Halloween. This is a timeless classic, portraying a story of perseverance, friendship, and self sufficiency among other things. The tale of the four friends' journey and triumph over the wicked witch to get what they needed; be it home, a brain, courage, or a heart has been inspiring people since 1939.
To me, the movie seems to personify the triumph of good over evil, as well as perseverance. As the story starts out, Dorothy simply wants to keep her dog, and be independent. However, she ends up finding herself in a great deal of trouble, seemingly far from home, and feeling extremely dependent. This shows just how childlike, and human her character is, and how she has "the grass is always greener on the other side" type of attitude. However, she and her four-legged companion, Toto are obviously quite easy to get along with, as she makes friends almost everywhere she goes. Each of these new friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion all want something both relatively simple, yet incredibly complex. They want only small things, though those very things mean a great deal to each of them. Only a truly loving, intelligent, or courageous person would wish for a heart, a brain, or courage. Others would wish for more material things, and I think this shows what truly good people each of the characters were.
Dorothy only wants to get back home to Kansas, her family, and her familiar life. The Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion, want a brain, a heart, and courage, respectively. Throughout the movie, they travel many miles, and overcome many obstacles just to see the wizard. Narrowly escaping evil trees, a flame throwing witch, and sleep-inducing poppies, they finally arrive in Oz to meet the infamous Wizard. Only the magical, ruby red slippers of the deceased wicked witch of the east identify Dorothy as being legitimate in the eyes of the citizens of Oz. After having the wizard reject her first request, she is sent on another mission. During this process, Dorothy is captured, and nearly killed by the still living witch, as her friends cunningly plan her successful escape. In one fell swoop, Dorothy takes down the witch dynasty for good, melting the Wicked Witch of the West with a bucket of water, allowing Dorothy to take her broom back to the wizard. These loyal friends went to great lengths to save and help her, and each other, showing one of the great themes of the movie.
The witch's broom satisfies the wizard, though his returned gift of 'magic' is slightly less impressive than had been expected, necessitating a new form of magic. Self sufficiency and self actualization are major themes of the film, and are rather evident, especially in the end. As a conclusion, Dorothy and her companions find they could have gotten along without the wizard's help all along. All they really needed was confidence, and to appreciate what they already had and took for granted, which they discovered without any real assistance from the wizard, besides perhaps a few encouraging words. Each person eventually found their respective desires within themselves, as they could have all along, though the true test was to dig deep to find each of them.
Good triumphing over evil is a prominent theme of the movie, as well as the innocence of childhood, and friendship. The four friends unconditionally love and protect one another, and go to great lengths to do so. Dorothy's obvious innocence kept her from always seeing things as they were. She did not expect anyone could be so wicked, as the witch and many others were. Also, the story, that we eventually learn Dorothy dreamed up, is somewhat obviously just that; a child's dream. In hindsight, the costumes of the characters were both realistic, and just fake enough to make out who the characters represented in the young girl's life. I always found this to be a rather interesting fact. During her entire stay in Oz, Dorothy never seemed to realize her new friends were indeed the same as her old ones from Kansas, though when she wakes up back in her bed, she knows that each of them were also in her dream. This shows that each of them have parallel mannerisms with their previous characters.
Even the score for the film is fantastic. As a musician, and a child who grew up singing "If I only had a brain," I quite appreciate the musical aspects of this glorious movie. Each of the songs portrays the individual parts of the movie, as well as the film in its entirety. While there are many different themes and melodies, from "Over the rainbow," to "We're off to see the wizard," to the unforgettable theme of the Wicked Witch of the West, they all eventually tie in together, and apply to the whole movie. Each scene has its own music, and therefore its own mood, and identity, but is also somewhat similar to others. For example, as Dorothy discovers each of her new friends, in turn, the song alters just a bit. It changes from "if I only had a brain", to "if I only had a heart", and then the same for "the nerve". The quartet also sings many songs, such as "We're off to see the wizard" in many different scenes, though it is essentially the same song.
All in all, the Wizard of Oz is an excellent movie, on of the best ever in my opinion. The joyous music and life lessons that it brings can do nothing but make one smile, unless of course you were afraid of the flying monkeys. With the expert cast, headed by the talented Judy Garland, an amazing display of Technicolor, unforgettable music, and four loyal companions, the Wizard of Oz is rightfully one of the most beloved movies of all time.
- we had the movie at one point, but it was lost. my kids love the movie and watch it all the time.
- this is a wonderful film and i like it alot, the only thing to complain about is there is alot of singing!! but other then that, it has such beautiful color when Dorathy first steps out of her house, into OZ.

5 comments about Ghost Hunters: Live From The Waverly Sanitorium.
- Not much happens, or at least not much is seen on screen, although personal experiences abound (as well as a shrieking guest star taking off at a run). Part of the fun is that very minor things are inflated by the hunters into something supernatural. You do hear odd sounds in old buildings, and things do clatter to the floor when someone walks past an "empty" room. It happens (gravity, rodents, gusts of wind, shaking of floorboards). There's no attempt at debunking (which is true of the more recent seasons of the show as well). A lot is made of a rubber ball that rolls along a hallway, yet the team doesn't determine if perhaps the old floor is slanted or sagging. Or when the ball wobbles in front of the camera, the team vows that there is no wind or breeze affecting the ball -- but no one is at floor level taking measurements. It becomes a little laughable at this point! More so the guest star, an ECW wrestler from one of SciFi channel's other shows (just like last year's Halloween special). He's not particularly eloquent at describing his experiences but does seem to see a lot of ghosts. Towards the end of this show, the three runners up for the next ghost hunter team member are brought in, and you get to see Heather and Krysten acting very nasty towards one of them (I think these are the two women who use the hokey dowsing rods during investigations). Later on, Krysten and Steve get critical of the runners up, kind of showing off at how much they know in comparison to these contestants, who are all novices (like new people wouldn't be novices? Duh?). I found these portions of the show quite rude -- and not much to do with ghost hunting. Though they need some smart women on the team, a rather dull guy is picked to win the contest. That was disappointing. I miss Paula, the brainy scientist from season one, and Brian's enthusiasm, energy and outspokenness! Still, the three hours are very entertaining. I'd like to see the action that SciFi didn't show due to commercials, stretching out to the full six hours of the investigation. Also, it would be great to see a true scientific investigation, but despite claims to be doing so, I see little equipment and no one with a science background. The show and the Ghost Hunters team just come off as entertainers -- fun but no substance. They should admit that what they do isn't science but just TV entertainment. Highly recommend this DVD, though. It's a good quality and the action holds your interest. Looking forward to this year's Halloween special (bet that the guest star will be yet another ECW wrestler).
- This DVD contains the 3-hour version of the Halloween special (which was originally broadcast on the SciFi channel as a 6-hour special). As someone here has already noted, it's best to watch this (hopefully you bought it used or borrowed it) while occupied with doing something else; it makes nice "background" chatter while you're paying your bills, surfing online, etc. There's very little to watch in the 3 hours and not much to be scared by on this DVD. There is much more humor that happens than is typically shown on the 1-hour long episodes but I'm not sure it's worth the time (or money) to see that here. I also found the "logo" for this episode to be distracting; it was at the top left of the screen and much too big and bright, spoiling the atmosphere until you get used to it. I am a big fan of the weekly program, but this one was really boring. Remember: If you saw the Sanatorium on the episode from Season 3 Part 2, then you've already seen the best from this location!
- I'm a very big fan of Ghosthunters, but this is not one of the better shows. I'm from Louisville Ky, and have been to Waverly Hill several times. I have no doubt the place is haunted, but nothing was really caught in this episode. Season one is the best bet if you want a good purchase.
- Can't say I believe in ghosts, but this show is tons of fun and sometimes makes me wonder if there is anything going bump in the night.
- This DVD is for TAPS fans only. If you're expecting non-stop paranormal action, this isn't the DVD to buy. This probably isn't a DVD that you're going to want to spend an entire evening watching. Even after being edited in about 1/2 from the original live show, nothing much happens for most of the show. I find this a good DVD to put on when I need something on in the background while working in my office. If you've seen the latest 2008 live show, there is a lot of controversy whether or not stuff was staged that night. During this live show, not nearly as much happens.

5 comments about Babylon 5 - The Lost Tales.
- Somewhat uneven not only from clip to clip but within each of the three vignettes. Probably only recommended for real fans of the series who want to see more. The good parts are really very good and stand up against any other body of sci-fi. The less good parts are just that, less than good.
It mad us want to watch the whole series again.
- Most Babylon 5 fans probably come into this movie expecting far too much. There is no new story to be written (yet at least), the original arc was completed in the 5 season series. These stories are just meant to be gravy for B5 fans; some 'Lost Tales' to fill in the gap between Season 5 and the Series finale 'Sleeping in Light'.
The 2 stories themselves are well written and contain some trademark JMS dialogue. The first story has not been well received due to the fact that it is very wordy and a bit slow paced. But, the underlying message of the tale is pure B5 and revisits some of the themes of 'ancient' evil that arose in the B5 universe. The second story is more action packed and opens a new door in the story line for future volumes.
I can understand why some fans might be disappointed in this release, but people really need to be more realistic. These stories aren't meant to create a new B5 universe but to add to one that millions have grown to adore. Finally, and most importantly, B5 fans need to support this release so we might see future volumes which sport bigger budgets. Don't forget, it was the fans who through their support brought the 5 seasons of B5 to DVD in the first place.
- Stories of developing characters were theaded and interwoven as the seasons progressed. This series was simply one of the best written shows ever aired on broadcast television. Of course it had to be cancelled. Wise, smart, funny, passionate, complex; it was just too good for the [...]-tube. The sci-fi format created safe space to explore contemporary moral and ethical issues without arousing an instant political backlash.
- a great moment to come back aboard babylon5. The mood is strange. the atmosphere is quite like a no man's land and it changes from the series. But it's a great pleasure to find the characters again. This is a very good film for babylon5's fans.
- Two great stories set in the B5 universe, well worth the watch. Both feel right for the B5 universe, dealing with questions of morality, spirituality, fate, and similar high-brow stuff.

5 comments about Tru Calling: The Complete Series.
- "Tru Calling" was a television show that ran for 1 season on Fox before being abruptly canceled prior to the airing of the first six completed episodes of what was shaping up to be a phenomenal second season. Well, at least it fared better than Firefly. Sorry, it still hurts. The show starred girl-of-my-dreams Eliza Dushku (of Buffy/Angel fame) as a morgue attendant, Tru Davies, who gains a unique supernatural power. The dead bodies she attends occasionally ask her for help and she finds herself instantly transported back to the moment she awoke that morning and charged with saving the life of the corpse she just encountered. It's a simple set-up for what proves to be a formulaic but very entertaining show that deserved much better than it got.
Honestly, Eliza Dushku herself is reason enough to go out and buy this. The girl is just a joy to watch onscreen. She has girl-next-door likability, great acting talent, plenty of attitude, and a damn sexy voice. Also: quite pretty, yes? But the writing for "Tru Calling" is also top-notch and manages to keep things interesting at all times in spite of the episodic nature of the stories. You'll be surprised at how inventive and compelling some of the stories are. One finds Tru reliving the same day four separate times as every night after saving the life, another corpse turns up as a result and sends her back to the start. Others have her juggling her duty with finagling her ne'er-do-well of a brother out of whatever idiotic situation he's gotten himself into or attempting to save people close to her. Yet another has her charged with saving two lives on the same day, a monumental task considering the amount of investigation, resourcefulness, and work it takes to save the life of one person you don't know anything about aside from cause of death. The supporting cast is also outstanding including Tru's boss (a The Lord of the Rings nerd), and her exceptionally dysfunctional family. Just how dysfunctional? I couldn't possibly tell you without massive spoilers.
The real story for the show begins when Tru finds out that she has an opposite. Jason Priestly takes the show by storm as Jack, a man whose day rewinds every time our heroine's does and is charged with making sure those on a collision course with death stay that way. Tru is then forced to examine her place in the world and wonder if she is, as Jack says, doing more harm than good by disrupting the natural order of things. The come the bombshells. The last part of Season 1 gathers massive momentum that carries over into Season 2 and you curse Fox's stupidity for killing yet another great show at it's creative peak when the last episode is done and you're left pondering what could have been.
"Tru Calling" was an outstanding series for fans of supernatural television and I'm still ticked off that it's gone. Instead we got endless "reality" shows -each more inane and derivative than the last-, more and more formulaic crime and medical dramas (House, M.D. rocks, though), and fluff like "Medium" and "Ghost Whisperer" (no links for you!). And when we do get real deal supernatural television it's on-the-bubble shows like Reaper that are great and so you fear every week of hearing about their cancellation. This is no kind of life for a fan to live, man! Speak up about your favorite shows when those rumors start swirling. One email to the network can be a drop in an ocean of support that saves the shows you love. Check "Tru Calling" out if the notion of a macabre, heroic version of Groundhog Day starring Miss Dushku appeals to you in any way.
4 1/2 stars rounded up for old times sake.
I can't wait for "Dollhouse"! Look out for it.
- This review is not of the show itself, but of the DVD package. I just find it's a shame this complete series is already available (and has been for some time) from the other Amazon UK site for a lot less cash (cost about $30)! Even with shipping added, it's still less. Just have a DVD player that plays other regions [like I do] and you're all set!
- I bought this sight unseen because I like Eliza Dushku. The series is good because of her. Her boss is OK too.
The bad... Jason Priestly and the loser brother. I was hoping Jason Priestly would have faded into oblivion after that 90210 show. His character on this show is annoying. His acting also seems to be inspired by a visit to a lumberyard.
The brother. Major loser. Always losing money by gambling. Always, always, always does the wrong thing. The epitome of selfish. His routine gets very old very fast.
It looks as if someone watched "Run Lola Run" and thought it would be a great concept for a TV series. It's easy to see why this show didn't run longer.
Bottom line.... if you are an Eliza Dushku fan, buy this. If not, pass.
- Very sad that Fox cancelled the series. It was great and really had me wanting to learn more about the characters. Great writers and actors. "Tru" miscalculation on Fox's part.
- I missed this series the first time. I saw a few episodes in rerun and got hooked. It's quite enjoyable, and I'm thankful it was available from Amazon.

5 comments about Teen Titans - The Complete Second Season (DC Comics Kids Collection).
- my kids are huge fans and this just about completes their collection, the adore these cartoons, shipping was fast, almost next day! BRAND NEW CONDITION, GREAT DEAL, GOOD JOB!
- Great continuity for the Teen Titans. Characters and plotlines based on Marv Wolfman's and George Perez's New Teen Titans comics of the 1980s.
Watch for guest stars in "Winner take all": Speedy, Wildebeast, and the return of Aqualad, last seen in Season 1's "Deep Six".
Have a sneak preview of Robin's future Nightwing persona in "How long is forever?"
Enjoy!
- The second season of Teen Titans sees the Titans welcoming Terra and hoping to recruit her into the fold. Terra can manipulate the earth to her command & would be a welcome addition to the group but Slade has plans for her, as well. It also sees others Titans like Speedy, Aqualad, & Wildbeest making their appearance on celluloid. Like always, The show delivers fun, exciting episodes that are colorful and filled with lots of intense action. Sad thing is, other than the 'Catching up with..' segment of the two dvds, there is no extras like the first season(which was filled to the max with 'em). I agree with other reviewers out there in internetland that perhaps it's too much for us to hope for extras like this on every dvd collection but it would help & make us fans want to buy the seasons that much more. We're interested in how the process is done with cartoons, who created the characters and what plans the next season will hold...things of that nature. They could have even done a featurette(much like they did in The Batman) about the toymaking line of the franchise. At any rate; that is, perhaps, my only gripe with the season of episodes. I'm glad that Warner Brothers decided to go with selling the complete seasons than doing the volumes with only so many episodes as that was really annoying.
Again, this season was a great season and I look forward to what the next season has in store for us.
I think this is a program that will appeal to both kids & adults...it is that good.
- After Season 1 expanded on introducing the five main characters (Robin,Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg) and their personalities and attitudes towards each other, it was now time for the show to take on a different storyline. The creators of the cartoon decided to take one of the biggest storylines from The New Teen Titans comic series "Judas Contract" and adapt it to a younger audience in the cartoon. While making the adaptation kid-friendly, the creators did not loose sight of what the "Judas Contract" was all about. This makes for an excellent season of Teen Titans that both comic and cartoon lovers could enjoy!
This season introduces the character of Terra Markov. In the episode 'Terra' the Teen Titans meet the geomancer and Beast Boy's love is practically instant for her when she laughs at one of his jokes (which is quite rare for the changeling). It is shown in this episode that there is an obvious connection and possible future relationship between the two. Another speculation one might point out is Slade's foreshadowing quote that "he found her first". This episode is the gateway for many twists and turns in the plotline of this dramatic storyline. Many emotions will be played around with and the Titans will have to face the challenge of this new member. Is the Titans new friend really what they expect? Or is there more to the character of 'Terra'?
**Key episodes in finding out what Terra's secret is are Terra,Titan Rising,Betrayal,Aftershock Part 1, and Aftershock Part 2.
Now beyond the main storyline of Season 2 which is the 'Terra Arc', are the filler episodes. Another great thing about this series is that a lot of the filler episodes are entertaining even though they don't pertain to the main arc. One of my personal favorites is 'Fear Itself". At this point, not much is known about Raven but this episode reveals a different side to the dark character that I believe anyone can relate to. Another episode 'Transformation' which centers around Starfire and her weird Tamaranean traditions, sends a good message to kids everywhere about how one should not be judged based on their appearances.
Overall, this Season is excellent and I recommend it to any Titans fan or newcomer. With dramatic storylines like the Terra Arc, and good natured episodes like 'Transformation', both adults and kids can sit down and thouroughly enjoy this cartoon together.
- Because this is the greatest cartoon show i ever seen. No kidding, there all in places: comedy - very funny, action - plenty of, drama - very sad, especially Terra story line, even horror, does not really scare but worry alot. I bought it, and absolutely no regrets.
