5 comments about Supernatural - The Complete First Season.
- The first season keeps you wondering whats going on..Jeffery Dean Morgan is amazing!! Well worth the watch!
- Supernatural - The Complete First SeasonVERY EXCITING SERIES AND VERY GOOD ACTING BY JENSEN ACKLES AND JARED PADALECKI. THE BROTHERS TEAM MAKE FOR A VERY SATISFYING SHOW. IF YOU HAVE SEEN IT GET THE BOXSETS. TRY IT YOU WILL LIKE IT NOW AND LOVE IT LATER.
- In season one of most series, you're sort of getting a lot of bits and peices. Mostly because the bulk of the money and imagination was spent on the pilot before the networks decide to pick up certain shows. If you're not a patient person, or really into the genre of this show then you probably won't be blown away. It is worth the watch though, even if this is not your kind of show. If for no other reason, simply because of the leads Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The latter really is a truly gifted actor with mannerisms and a persona that really make his character of Dean believable. Jared comes into his own as Sam also. But watching for the different directors in each episode and their styles is also fun. And once you begin to see where the creators and writers are taking you with the mythology of this series, you really get hooked. It's because they somehow manage to make a weekly creature-feature and include the over-arching story line in every episode at the same time. And it's nice to be able to tell when the people involved seem to enjoy making the show as well, as is evident in Supernatural. And it only gets better as the series progresses through seasons.
- I bought this DVD television series, never having seen it on television; due to its premise looking interesting. Two good looking men, one a blue collar type and the other a pre-law college graduate, take up the family business of hunting monsters and ghosts due to their father going on a ghost hunting mission from which he has never returned. The acting on the episodes is superb (Jensen Ackles being the real standout), the writing is excellent (most of the episodes are both horrifying yet funny at the same time) and the special effects are great. If you are a fan of the X-files or Buffy the Vampire Slayer you will also like this series.
The episodes that are included:
Episode I (pilot) Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) hook up due to their Dad being on a "hunting trip" from which he has never returned. They encounter a mysterious ghost, and accomplish their first ghost killing mission together as adults. Sam's girlfriend mysteriously dies the same way the boys Mother died soon after Sam was born.
Wendigo Sam and Dean encounter a a strange spirit of Indian lore while hunting for their Father.
Dead in the Water A series of drownings in a lake in Wisconsin soon becomes seen by Sam and Dean as the work of a vengeful spirit
Phantom Traveler A jet crashes due to a phantom that takes over pilots/random people/stewardesses on a flight. Sam and Dean attempt an airborn exorcism.
Bloody Mary Sam and Dean discover a ghoul who lives in mirrors who gorges out the eyes of its prey that must be stopped
Skin A demonic shape shifter, who also appears at one point as Dean, causes a lot of mischeif and mayhem.
Hook Man Based on the suburban myth of the man with a hook who attacks couples on dates
Bugs Sam and Dean investigate outbreaks of insects in a developement that was once a sacred Indian land (that has a curse attached)
Route 666 Sam and Dean investigate a series of murders by someone-or something-in a big truck that targets African American victims at first. A pretty blonde who is a recurring character with a secret starts appearing.
Nightmare The two brothers pose as priests in order to gain access to a house where their has been a mysterious murder. Sam realizes his psychic abilities.
The Benders Shades of Deliverance abound in this tale about backwoods people who like to hunt humans. Sam is taken as a prize and Dean has to rescue him
Shadow A shadow killer is hunting random people-or so it seems. Sam uses his psychic powers to help find potential victims.
Hell House A house is a place for a homicidal spirit, but Sam and Dean's efforts are thwarted by a pair of strange paranormal investigators who want to use ghosts to pick up girls.
Something Wicked A witch is terryfying a small town, and this witch has ties to the boyhoods of the Winchester brothers.
Provenance A portrait of a long dead family has an equally horrifying history and causes murders when purchased.
Dead Mans Blood The boys Father (played by Jeffrey DEan Morgan) is finally reunited with his sons. The Vampires have gotten possession of a gun that is rumoured to kill anything, ghost or demonic.
Salvation A demonically possessed woman Sam met reappears, with disasterous consequences-she wants the gun that can kill anything, and John (the boys Father) is kidnapped so she can get it.
Devil's Trap This is the season finale. Anything is game concerning the gun, and getting back Dad. A riveting final shot ends the series of season I
Also, the special features are wonderful on this DVD set, particularly the Gag real. Buy it, it is worth your time.
- I love everything I order from amazon most of the time. Anyway I love this DVD set b/c it shows where the show started in a way where you couldn't see it in the TV show. I loved it truly and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Supernatural the show. And even if you aren't a fan of the show this a great way for you to see what the show is all about trust me you will get hooked!! Always ~~prissy~~

1 comments about Futurama: Bender's Game.
- I saw an early release of this movie and it is great. If you liked episodes such as "The Route of All Evil" or "A Taste of Freedom", then you will find this one very funny. My favorite part was when the evil robots use magic to turn Leela into a centaur. Fry goes on to ride her pretty hard.
Buy this now if your looking for some good laughs!

5 comments about Heroes: Season 2 [Blu-ray].
- I thought that Heroes season 2 was done well. Especially considering that what they were able to do with it knowing that the writers guild was going to go on strike. They were still able to put the season together with what they had. You have to give them credit for how well they pulled off the change from where they planned on taking the show, to where they ended up taking the show. They had to totally reinvent the series at the last minute. I think they did a fabulous job. As for owning it on Blu Ray...I wouldn't have it any other way. I've seen others complaining about how keeping their blu ray players up to date is so difficult...but I haven't had any issues whatsoever. Everything I have in blu ray is so incredible that I won't buy new movies on DVD, only blu ray.
- This Blu-Ray compilation has a very hight quality video and audio. The show its self is like a roller coaster: the beginning weak, middle ok and the end is where it starts to get off but all of the sudden you are done. Can't wait for season 3 due to the season 2 cliff-hanger. Recommended as a gift to a show fan or just to show off your HDTV and Blu-Ray player.
- If you enjoyed season 1, this is a must buy. Even if you already watched it on tv, watching it again helps you get all the nuisances you missed the first time around (well, it helped me).
Plus, the quality of the image and sound on Bluray is just amazing.
- Great looking box, with loads of additional features, came fast and in perfect condition! Looks great on the tv. Looks great on the dvd shelf

5 comments about The Ultimate Matrix Collection [Blu-ray].
- All three of these movies are great. Each one delves a little deeper into the matrix mythology than the one before it, which is why I think most people love the first one and hate the third. With each progression deeper into the mythology, it becomes more complicated and difficult to understand- IF you have zero understanding of things like quantum physics and spirituality (not necessarily christianity). Even a basic working knowledge of quantum physics and simply an open mind will take you far when watching this trilogy. (Watching the movie "What the *bleep* Do We Know?" first might help too- it can give you a basic understanding of the principles behind this entire trilogy). As far as a thinking person's movie goes, the third was by far the best of the three. The first introduced something brand new to the movie going audiences, which of course cannot be topped. But if you unbiasedly deconstruct each movie, the third is the shining star. The ending with The Architect and the choice is a deft blending of philosophy, quantum physics, and spirituality that quite simply brings the whole point of the trilogy to a satisfying and complete close. The thing is, you'll either "get" this trilogy as a whole, or you won't. But don't trash the whole trilogy simply because you don't understand it. If you're one of the ones who don't get it, it will be painfully obvious in your review because you'll just see the trilogy as a long string of great action sequences interrupted by some confusing talking stuff. Do yourself a favor and get a little education first- read some books (not Harry Potter), watch "What the*Bleep* Do We Know?", THEN review the trilogy. Only then will you see the trilogy as a whole and "get it".
- The Blu-Ray I don't own yet, But I do have the HDDVD format and I will say the High Def is awsome, this is a must buy! for the Matrix Fan that is.
And Neo would buy it so why don't you.......
- Can Anybody say about subtitles, languages and another specifications about this DVD Box? Generally some little people speaks about that, and it is a important info. Thanks.

- Most standard dvd players nowadays have a feature that lets you upscale a standard dvd to 1080p. So you can enjoy your old dvds in maximum resolution on a high definition television. You can find the standard dvd versions of these 3 movies, and buy them for about $40 grand total. So you would be paying an additional $40 to own this blue-ray set. It's NOT worth it!!!

5 comments about Supernatural - The Complete Second Season.
- Supernatural
Is an awesome show which both my husband and I love to watch so if you have seen Season 1 - Season 2 is even better. Cant wait for Season 3 to arrive in the mail.
- Absolutely awesome series!! Outstanding, the best series ever in its genre. I can wait to see the new season.
- I bought the first season of the show entirely on a whim, never having been exposed to it in any way. I was, quite simply, bored and the first season was the first thing to come up on my search. After the first season I was hooked, so I ordered the second season as quickly as I could.
The action gets kicked up a notch for the second year, and without revealing too much about the events that take place, Sam and Dean do finally get to confront Azazel (the Yellow Eyed Demon) regarding their history and we find out a few interesting things about Sam in particular. And the season's cliffhanger ending is an absolute must-see and it made me, in short, FLIP for the third season.
If you liked the first season this is a must-have. The mythology gets a little intricate and you'll definitely want to have seen the first year ahead of time, but it's a definite must-buy for anyone who likes tales of the SUPERNATURAL.

- The second season of the hit TV series Supernatural on DVD does not disappoint. It takes the viewer on a wild ride through various demons of the supernatural. The writing and special effects continue to Wow! this season. The acting is incredible by the two male leads, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who manage to be funny yet credible and are overall a joy to watch act (and of course who are ALWAYS nice to look at).
All 22 episodes are here. A list follows:
Episode 1 In My Time of Dying An unexpected twist to last year's season finale. YOu will enjoy!! A great commentary also awaits with voices and with complex chinese subtitles with Jared, Jensen, and Kim Manners who is the Director of the episode.
Episode 2 Everybody loves a clown This episode plays into many people's hatred of clowns. Very eerie for me especially to watch, as I hate clowns.
Episode 3 Bloodlust A repeat character Gordon is introduced here. The episode is about vampires
Episode 4 Children should not play with dead things. About life, and death, and more death......
Episode 5 Simon Said A preview of what will happen with people who are suddenly developing psychic powers (of whom Sam is one)
Episode 6 No Exit The ghost of a real life serial killer returns to harm his old haunts.
Episode 7 The usual suspects Dean's past comes back to haunt him in this episode.
Episode 8 Crossroad blues Dean and Sam investigate an area where supposily one can make deals with the devil.
Episode 9 Croatoan A virus affects a small town. VEry unsettling end.
Episode 10 Hunted Gordon returns, hunting after Sam, due to his psychic abilities.
Episode 11 Playthings Invisible playmates may be demonic as demonstrated by this episode. And I had no idea that my imaginary friend "Hermie" when I was growing up could be like this!! I guess I was lucky.
Episode 12 Nightshifter More shapeshifting fun.
Episode 13 Houses of the holy Sam feels he has been "touched by an angel."
Episode 14 Born under a bad sign Sam's dark side may have emerged in this episode about his lost week
Episode 15 Tall Tales There is nothing like a "trickster" spirit to rustle up things at a University.
Episode 16 Roadkill Roadkill is about ghostkill (big surprise with a show that has the name of "Supernatural")
Episode 17 Heart Werewolves aplenty in this episode.
Episode 18 Hollywood Babylon Ghostly happenings on a Hollywood horror movie set.
Episode 19 Folsom Prison Blues Dean goes to jail in this episode (and presumably did not pass go, or collect his 200.00. I just hope he did not bend over for a bar of soap.).
Episode 20 What is and what should never be A genie grants a wish for Dean. Includes a commentary with the creator of the show Eric Kripke
Episode 21 All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1 The psychic kids meet, the start of mass destruction. Good commentary (again with complex chinese subtitiles if you want that ) by Eric Kripke, Robert Singer the Director of the episode and Sera Gamble the writer.
Episode 22 All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 Big consequences for Dean as the finale of this season concludes, and really gets you ready for season 3.....
I can't tell you how much I am enjoying the Supernatural television series. Everything else on this DVD is great as well. The two documentaries "The Devil's Road Map" and "The Episode from Hell: the making of all Hell Breaks Loose Part 2" are very informative and entertaining. Most of all I enjoyed the Gag real. Buy it, you'll like it! I can't wait to watch Season 3, recently released on DVD.
- Even if you are a faithful viewer of the show, you inevitably miss some part of the episodes during the season. Either because of a bathroom break or a phone call....and the sad thing is you don't realize it matters all that much. Well, with a show such as Supernatural it does matter! I love being able to watch Dean and Sam, uninterrupted, at my leisure. I own both season 1 and 2 and will be getting 3 asap!

5 comments about Doctor Who: The Complete Fourth Series.
- Unequivocally the worst season of the revived Doctor Who. Tennant looks weary, Tate is good, suprisingly, but the stories are, overall, horrific. One of the worst finales ever sinks the bright moments of the season. With Davies leaving, things could take a turn for the better, but I will not be buying this season. Nuff said, watch it for yourself.
- i love the show but the prices beig charged for the box sets are to much for most to afford
- I have copies of Dr. Who back to the original 1963 Doctor and the "new" series has indeed sparked some of the best episodes ever. But... The chemistry between Donna and the Doctor, as with Martha and the Doctor, just falls a little flat. Very good actresses, some great stories, but somehow just doesn't make this a five star season. Yes the series is changing and we now know more about how lonely a Timelord's life can be; but like "Scarlett" did nothing for "Gone With The Wind", sending "a" Doctor off to Rose falls flat. Better to have left it hanging. Having Rose "calling" the Doctor and showing up now and then was FANtastic, but why? Martha shows up for UNIT. Could have been better.
Each element: the acting, the writing, the music, the settings are GREAT, but somehow they just don't seem to flow together like they did in the first two seasons. It faltered a bit in season three and more so in season four.
As a fan, I WILL be buying season four one day. But a dozen episodes for $100 (discounted to $65)? Just too expensive for a three star season. I'll wait. If it doesn't drop, I'll just watch the TV versions I recorded.
I am intrigued as to what other extras might be included. Torchwood season 1 had commentary on EVERY episode yet season 2 had none (on the set I bought). What will be included here to justify the $100 SRP?
- It wasn't too long ago that the new series of Doctor Who started up, and before that day, I had only heard of the show in passing. I gave it a shot, and coming from a clean slate, I found I loved the show and have been watching it even since. One of the things that really captivated me about the show was anything was possible. You could be watching an epic space battle one episode, then on to meeting Shakespeare in the next. All the while, the show delivers on comedy and even some drama, the show is definitely a step higher in that department from what I have heard and seen since I started watching this show compared to the original.
A basic summary of your average episode would be that the Doctor and his current companion(s) travel through time and space, sometimes visiting famous events and helping out the locals with and alien related problems they might have. David Tennant has done a remarkable job in his acting, always coming up with odd yet funny quotes to relate to the situation.
One thing that I imagine might turn people away from buying this is the price tag. Compared to most other shows, it costs 2-3 times as much, but if you are a fan of the show or even have just seen a few and like it, I have found that I have been rewatching the episodes over and over again. Now season 4 isn't out yet, but in my opinion, the show is continuing on as strong as ever, even with fairly regular cast replacement, most new characters I have found to be just as good if not better than the last.
- And what of us poor guys who live in third rate countries where the postal system isn't safe and/or run by thieves? The only safe way to buy items is choosing the option Priority International Courier (averages 2-6 days). But the total cost of placing and order thus becomes ridiculously expensive: For me in Mexico City: Shipping & Handling: $32.98 plus Import Fees Deposit $32.50 I'd be paying more of shipping and fees than the actual cost of the DVD box set and with this world crisis the mexican peso keeps devaluating in relation to the dollar (20 percent in a few days) Do you want us to download Doctor Who illegally from Internet? One wants to be legal but you don't leave us another option.

5 comments about Torchwood - The Complete Second Season.
- At the risk of incurring vengeance for not giving a gushingly positive review of something everyone loves---if you're looking for an all-purpose word to describe season 2 of Torchwood, try nebulous. Not necessarily the best descriptive going, cloudy and insubstantial was nonetheless the feeling I felt left with after viewing all 13 episodes. Even clouds however, sometimes have their silver linings and this season was not without its moments to remember.
The episodes that worked: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang: anything with James Marsters in it seems almost assured for success, and so it went with this one; Adam: succeeds because of the concept behind the no-so original story-the character Adam is one of the more creative inventions; Reset brings in Martha Jones and has a very fast pace; From Out of the Rain was my favorite episode: it is creepy,--the Ghost Maker and Pearl are inspired!---further, this episode avoids the tedium of the character-centered approach that tolled the boredom knell for so many other of the episodes this season.
The meh (so-so) episodes: Meat, which could have been good, but was marred by the Rhys character; Fragments: the episode literally starts out with a bang, but sputters out once it is seen to be only a routine origin episode; Dead Man Walking continues the Martha Jones story-arc, but gets busted down to mediocrity when it becomes an Owen-centered episode; Exit Wounds, the season closer, begins on an almost grand note, but sputters shamefully the last 10 minutes-Marsters is almost able to redeem the episode, but Producer Davies seems gaily (pun intended) hell-bent on bleaching any excitement out of this series.
The lame epis: As for To The last Man, the less said about this stupid, trite, and boring get-Toshiko-laid-with-the screwy man of the week episode, the better-someone should have slapped Davies upside the head and reminded him that it's science fiction -not science drama, science romance, or science yawn. Ditto for Something Borrowed, an episode that not only borrows from every wedding cliché' under the sun, but is also downright painful to watch for the pendulum hysterics of Gwen. Onward to Adrift, perhaps the most appropriate metaphor for the show-Rhys has moved beyond annoying in a fat pig sort of way, and just now needs to be shot-and why does the most junior member of the team get to be allowed to bark orders at her boss?; A Day In The Death is an Owen-centered self-pity episode that all but forgets the science-fiction bent it is supposed to owe its allegiance to---oh wait, the glowing conk shell obviously was intended to cover that bit of oversight.
The real tragedy of Torchwood is how it is an idea that was made to not be trashed. The show has so much potential, and has done so little to live up to that potential. Shame on the producers and writers for sacrificing story opportunities and some awesome tie-ins to the Doctor Who universe for long and boring character studies and not very consequential threats to . . . Cardiff. If Captain Jack is the heart of the show, why does the heart barely more in the sidelines for so many of the episodes; why is so much time wasted on shots of him making out with Ianto--ok, I get it, he`s bi-sexual and aren`t you so liberated for showing that every chance you get? Note to Davies and writers: get a clue; steer your ship in a different direction or your next season will tank so bad, the Titanic will have had a better prayer for success than you will have.
As for the money's worth angle of the DVD set, it is questionable whether only 13 adequate episodes should be priced higher than a full season of Smallville or Lost. There is one whole DVD dedicated to 13-minute episode breakdowns. Within the other discs are deleted scenes, and the obligatory blooper/outtake reel, not to mention a not-so-revelatory featurette on Captain Jack. If Season 3 is anything like the first two seasons, however, buyer beware and head for Ebay for a better bargain.
- This is a much better series than the first one, but the whole idea of getting the DVDs is for the extras, which this is lacking. There are no audio commentaries and very few DVD extras.
- ANOTHER GREAT SEASON FOR THIS SOO ORIGINAL AND FUN SERIES! LOTS OF ACTION WITH TANTILIZING PEEKS INTO THE BACKGROUNDS OF OUR OFFBEAT HEROES. DIDN'T SEE THE ENDING COMING THO!
- My review for the series itself would be 5 stars, but for the DVD collection I must give it three stars due to the lack of commentaries. The first season was worth the price, even though the season is only 13 episodes, due to the informative and entertaining commentaries. I was looking forward to the same in season two, especially from James Marsters. I was disappointed that there were NO commentaries this season - why oh why, Russell?
- I pre-ordered this set, & am happy to report none of the blemishes that dogged the first seeason set exists this time. although the extra features are minimal, the episodes are maximum. I've been hooked on Torchwood from it's premiere on BBC America, and am happy to recommend this set to everyone (well, maybe not the youngsters. This isn't kid stuff, you know).

5 comments about Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles - The Complete First Season.
- I love this series! It is packed with action and yet has a personal side to the story. Highly recommend this, especially on HD!
- This series has got me make to watching TV. I enjoy the FX and the story. I enjoy the plot and story so much. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
- Quality of the product is fine, no issues with the packaging or actual DVD's. I know sometimes you can get faulty DVD's and it sucks when you try to have soemthing you want to "keep"
The actual series is good because they don't chintz out on the effects. I like the multiple scenes with the endo-skeletons. With CGI nowdays it was a perfect time to tell this story. The entire cast is spot on and I am loving season 2 and will definitely buy that as well.
- I was very amused it came so quick. I would and will recomend this seller to anyone
- I bought this on DVD having never even heard of the series before. I was immediately impressed by the story, characters, and the action. This is definitely a must own DVD for a Sci Fi fan.
This series touches on themes that the movies did not really address. The man vs machine topic becomes more complex and even cloudy at times as we see it in many different variations and addressed more in depth. What I find most interesting are the interactions between the human characters and the terminator named Cameron sent by John to protect John. The stories are very compelling. I very much look forward to season 2.

5 comments about The Incredible Hulk (Three-Disc Special Edition).
- This is part of the incredible superhero movies of the summer. First off it was iron man and that movie created a standard above all others. This film exceeded the expectations and blow up everything that the other film had done. This movie will make everyone feel like they are a kid again.
- Plotless, pointless and pedantic, the new reboot of Marvel's jade-jawed giant is as mindless as their monster.
Featuring a far wimpier (and less agile) Hulk then the first installment, this worthless romp was clearly crafted to bridge the synaptic clefts of children.
Bottom Line: fast-paced fodder for adolescents and adults with bad to average tastes.
- In this movie, Louis Leterrier successfuly incorporated elements from both the comics and the TV series. Ang Lee's movie, although pretty interesting, lacked the action present in this movie.
Ed Norton makes a very good Bruce Banner, and the fight scenes are a lot of fun. Pls, for the fans, the movie is full of cameos and easter eggs...
I was there during the premiere in France, and the director promised some nice bonuses in the Blu-Ray and DVD collector set.
I'd put this superheroe movie between the Dark Knight (first, Batman seems to be unbeatable these days...) and Iron Man.
- I don't own this release but I have seen this film and let me tell you it will make you forget about the 2003 film Hulk! While the TV version with the late Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno will always be the Hulk to me, this is the way you should do the comic Hulk!
These guys definitely took the best from both the TV show and the comics and blended them together into one great film. This film definitely gets a 5 star rating from me for non-stop action and a little bit of drama and storytelling. While I am sure everyone knows, it ties into the recent Iron-Man release. Perhaps a showdown between the two on the big screen soon? We'll see!
Back to this, the transformations are great and they make more sense here than in Ang Lee's Hulk in 2003. While the Hulk did get stronger as he got angrier, I don't recall any version of him growing due to the rage! That made it a bit ridiculous to me. Here, he stays a consistent size and it just as menacing and scary at times. The villian Emil Blonsky (The Abomination) is much better than the villian in Hulk (though Nick Nolte did do a good job with what he had in 2003) and an actual threat to The Hulk.
Overall, this won't be a waste of your money, no matter what version you get! This is a must buy for comic fans and action junkies!

5 comments about The Nightmare on Elm Street Collection.
- The product was deliver in great shape and the movies are good they bring back a lot of memories
- I have yet to watch any of them...why you ask? Cause my fiance is petrified of Freddy! WE are adults now and she still has any image burned in her head of that melted grousum face! She really thinks that he will come for her in her dreams...when we get married first thing will be to watch all of them straight!
- If you are a Freddy fan, this is a great deal.
But, do not expect to have the Freddy's Greatest Hits in with it.
I was very disappointed. I even did an exchange and still no Greatest Hits.
If this does not matter, then it is a great deal..
- The DVD'S were brand new and it shows just as clear if not clearer than the original's when they first came out. And it was also cheaper to by from amazon.
- Well worth the $$$ a great DVD collection, and also the bonus of the TV series all for half the price you would pay to buy them separately. Also a really cool package
