- Flying High is another wonderful book that my daughter couldn't put down. The story is exciting and educational. The characters are real to life people that we could identify with. It provides a great example for my daughter of loving family relationships and show how reliance on their faith can get them through any difficulty. My daughter has read all three in this series and asks often when the next book will be available.
- This book is book three in Sonrise Farms series. Book four is now available too (MORNING GLORY). This horse series is awesome. My nieces love them. The books are full of adventures about Jenny and her palomino horse that all girls 10-15 love. The stories are wholesome and have a morale lesson. They also offer a Christian perspective, which I appreciated. It is hard these days to find wholesome reading for kids.

1 comments about With Jesus in His Sanctuary.
- The subject of the "Hebrew" sanctuary is little regarded by modern Christianity. However, it is a subject that pervades both the Old and New Testaments. Sanctuary wording runs from the Garden of Eden in Genesis to the New Jerusalem in Revelation. It is truly the Spiritual Key that unlocks the knowledge of the Bible. And this book by Dr. Leslie Hardinge is the definitive work encapsulating centuries of written information on the sanctuary from Jewish scholars to the church fathers and modern writers. The details that the author brings out in this volume will help even the most gifted of modern scholars to understand the spiritual truths of the Bible and show that Christ was the pattern in heaven that the sanctuary was to be molded after. Much more than an elaborate slaughter house, the sanctuary describes in detail the work of the Messiah that was to come and after His coming, to help us understand the meaning of the whole plan of salvation. Recommend the book? It already comes with heaven's endorcement, what more can I add?

1 comments about The Shaking Among God's People.
- This book was very interesting in that it gave a very clear, biblical perspective regarding the issue of apostacy in the church. It went into detail regarding the wheat/tares and practical suggestions for staying focused on Christ in these very trying times. A must read for any dissatisfied church member!

3 comments about To know God: A 5-day plan.
- If you have never read any book about God this is the one. Morris Venden is not only reacquainting you with God but he stresses the importance of having personal and constant relationship with Him. "There are many people who (...) can experience worldly success apart from God as long as He keeps their hearts beating. But the point is that we are helpless to produce anything apart from God when it comes to genuine goodness or righteousness." Venden emphasizes that there is nothing that we can do in order to achieve inner peace and Salvation. Since God already accepted us just the way we are all we have to do is to accept Jesus in our hearts. "Many people today try to buy God's love and acceptance and become nothing more than fornicators in the spiritual sense. But Jesus comes along and says that the greatest pleasure, the lasting happiness, is free." So, the only thing we have to do is to surrender ourselves to Jesus. "But surrender is not something we do, even though we do it! What's the point? That only God lead us to surrender... An important truth about surrender is that it is not something we can do!" I could quote Venden's book in whole chapters but then what would be the point of buying it? I hope these few quotes intrigued you enough to get this book for your 5-day plan study.
- This is a fabulous book! Someone gave it to me many years ago, and while unpacking a box of books the other day I came across it and decided to read it again. Pastor Venden answers the questions that many Christians ask (e.g., how do I know if I am really saved? why do things seem to get worse in my life when I seek God? how do I stop sinning?). He uses scripture, personal experiences from his own life, and anecdotal stories to answer these questions. His writing style is simple, clear, and concise. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is seeking to walk with God.
- This is a "must read" for not only anyone curious about God, but for every Christian as well. You can't help but come away with a far deeper and more treasured walk with Him. I grew up very legalistic, with the idea that God's love for me was somehow based on my behavior...WRONG! This book turned my life around, gave me joy, peace, love, etc.! The perfect book to share with a friend!

5 comments about Weimar Institute's NEWSTART® Lifestyle Cookbook: More Than 260 Heart-Healthy Recipes Featuring Whole Plant Foods.
- a solid good cookbook for those aspiring to the vegan diet. the only drawbacks being that some recipies require hard-to-locate ingredients such as vegan gelatin and smoked yeast. Other than that a very worthwhile purchase for those wishing to eat healthy, etc.
- The recipes in this book are some of the best available if you are serious about eating a healthy diet. They are not only vegetarian but they eliminate the refined oils and sugars which are such a major factor in causing diseases like atherosclerosis, heart disease, adult onset diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. They are the recipes used at the Newstart lifestyle program where they get excellent results with just diet and exercise. The recipes are delicious; we use them in our home all the time. I highly recommend this cookbook to my patients.
- Wonderfully Healthy Recipes...... use it all the time!
- This book contains recipes that nutitionally conscious people will love -- while using commonly available ingredients. As exciting as the recipes are, the nutritional information makes this a MUST READ cookbook. LOVE IT !! By incorporating these recipes or ideas into my diet (we still eat meat) and beginning moderate exercise (1hour 3xweek) I have cut my diabetes oral medication by half in less than one month !! Doc says 6mo - 1 year to be medicine free !! (after 3 years of gradually worsening diabetes) This cookbook could save your life !
- adhealthandwellness recommended this as one of the books that was essential for life. Piper de Vries is deep.

2 comments about Thinking Theologically: Adventist Christianity and the Interpretation of Faith.
- With the clarity, thoroughness, and insight that have marked his work for decades, Fritz Guy offers a reflective overview of the question, How should we do theology. While he focuses in particular on his own Protestant Christian community--Seventh-day Adventism--his observations are likely to be of use to anyone attempting to think about theological method. The book examines types of theological analysis and construction, useful methodological presuppositions, the significance of culture, ways of reading the Bible, and host of other valuable topics. It emerges from Guy's years of work as a highly respected teacher of theology, and is sure to be of value to students and teachers concerned with the nuts and bolts of theological method
- Fritz Guy, Seventh-day Adventist thought leader, seeks to explain "what theological thinking is, why it is important, who needs to be doing it, and how it should be done." The book is not for everyone. It requires thought. It calls for an atmosphere of openness. It cannot function as a sermon which is forgotten by the end of the service or as a movie enjoyed without any consideration of the meaning behind it. I can especially appreciate Guy's comment that theology must address our own world effectively and communicate the message of scripture persuasively. And that can only happen if we are . . . thinking theologically.
