Starting in obscruity, he was faithful over the small things and in time, he gained national attention suddenly. From there, international arenas opened. He shares his experiences of overcoming obstacles and describes the various spiritual struggles he had as part of that process. Taken in proper context, he still has something valid to say to those astute observers who are open minded, yet aware of the ongoing weaknesses within all of us which vary from one person to the next

1. Rev. Wood brings the Psalms alive with this insightful and spiritually rich commentary on this much loved book of the Bible. Each chapter presents one psalm with full text and insightful and inspirational commentary and illustration. I gave it to my wife for Christmas last year and she has enjoyed using it as a daily devotional.



2. Dr. Wood's writing style and insights into the Psalms are just wonderful. The Psalms become powerful as Dr. Wood gives insight into the history of the time of the writing, the circumstances of the writer, etc. I lived on these books for a time and passed them on to a friend walking thru a tough time. She too, has found them so helpful.

This book captures the true qualities of what happened to many Christians who were effected by the Azusa street outpouring. This book will help breath life into your soul. It helps satisfy the question of , " why is revival so scarce". It shows that the bod of Christ today lacks the Holiness that the church of yesteryear had. This book will lead you back to the old days and paint vivid pictures in your mind of the lives of the people and of the times that they happened to have lived in. Please read this book. Do your self a real favor pick this book up today it will help you gain a perspective of the overflow of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the believers of that day. It shows the lives of many epople that would oneday become important prople with this new denomination. if you read one book this year on pentecostal history please pick this one. You will not be disapointed. It will leave you seeking after revival. It is very accurate in the way it depicts the lives of the many people in the book. it makes you feel like you are there in the middle of the outpouring itself.

1. David Womac does a wonderful job of editing Donald Gee's works. He puts together some of Gee's best writings in one book. Donald Gee had an amazing ability of explaining in words the pentecostal movement. This is a great book for anyone interested in learning more about the pentecostal movement and pentecostal expiriences.



2. Womack is to be thanked for re-presenting some of the writings of one of the most important early Pentecostal leaders and thinkers. However, Womack's hand as an editor is too heavy. In the end, he gives us a picture of Donald Gee which is short-sighted. Donald Gee wrote about and discussed subjects that contemporary Pentecostal pastors and leaders have yet to touch upon. For example, Gee critiqued World War II and the nationalistic impulses which drove much of it. He regularly, and with prophetic insight, critiqued the secular culture of his day. And, in a way that put him spiritually and intellectually far beyond both his own contemporaries and those of today, Gee regularly called for church unity in his Pentecostal publications. Womack, by and large, allows us to re-explore Gee's teachings on Pentecostal doctrine and spirituality. But he does little to help the reader understand what a cultural and ecclesial prophet Gee truly was. In the end, Womack wants us to believe that Donald Gee looked like any old contemporary North American Pentecostal official, when in fact, he was far more complex, far more courageous, and far more astute, than that. Get Womack's edition if you want a narrow focus, but read Gee himself--especially his denominational magazine articles--if you want a more inclusive understanding of this unique man.
