3 comments about Angelic Enlightenment: A Personal Process.
  1. This is a wonderful and wonderfully well written book. Its inspiring and truly is for the serious angel enthusiast looking for angelic help through personal transformation and spiritual healing. The book's "work book like style" exercises also enhance the subject matter.

  2. I found this book too "New Age-y", which turned me off a little. The writing is obscure. I found myself having to reread almost each paragraph. Worse of all, everything is based on the authors' personal experiences with angels, which means the readers just have to trust that they are truthful and accurate channels -- a bit too difficult for me to swallow. The intentions are good, but the exercises and meditations are too tedious. How can one remember the long instructions to the meditations? Would have been better with an accompanying cassette tape or CD, maybe. Plus, the exercises are only for those with a lot of time. I found the structure, having to go from the Archangel Michael and on through Uriel, too inflexible and impractical, definitely not for everyone. I found the exercises in "Healing Mind, Healthy Woman", supplemented by "Angel Oracle" to be much more useful, practical, and enlightening.

  3. I found the exercises helpful. Especially the angel cards which helped me to try things I never would have thought to try on my own. Even though some of them would be difficult for me to try with my lifestyle, most of them helped me to appreciate all that I have and gave me more awareness of those less fortunate.

5 comments about The Angel Summoner (World Religion and Magic Series).
  1. I have read many books about angels, in english and spanish, but this one was superb.

  2. Read it! Loved it! Shared it with friends. This is one of the better books on Angel Magic I have read. I keep it on my nightstand just in case I need a quick review. Applause to Geoffrey James for his wealth of knowledge and his ability to write it in a clear and concise manner.

  3. James' book is a historical summary of angelic magic from the beginning of time to today. His interest is historical, so the book has a more "objective " flavor than most books published by Llewellyn. Especially recommended for "armchair Magicians" (i.e., people who like to read about it but rarely do it.)

  4. This book simply shows you little fragments of different sects of angel magick. And if you have been attracted by the phrase "ancient art of summoning and communicating with angelic beings", sorry but the books says little about how. The book has a handful of rare information, but the book does not help you out with how to use them. I think its better that u buy 5 different books on angel magick than gt this.

  5. Hummm, what can I say to anyone wishing to buy this book? Simple!
I think that almost everybody worth his salt would be able to give more information in 25 pages than this book contains in 224. Like almost any New Age bubbles it could gives you a good idea of the concept of "infinite nothingness" but not much else. If you are searching for that, men I tell you: you are at (one of the numerous) good places! But if you are looking to practice angel magic, (I guess you do) you will not achieve that goal by purchasing that book. No Way! Now as I hate to finish anything on the negative side, l take this opportunity to recommand to all seekers some of the best books on the Magical Arts.

    1) "Initiation into Hermetics" by Franz Bardon (the best ever).
If you have the money to buy only one book on the Magical
Art, make this one your choice.

    2) "The Book of Solomon's Magick" by Carroll 'Poke' Runyon.
(The best PRACTICAL book on Solomonic Magic ever written).
Solomonic Magic revised into a coherent system. FINALLY!
Waiting for a second (Hardcover) edition.

    3) "The Lesser Key of Solomon" (Joseph H. Peterson).(This one
is more scholarly than practical. In fact, it is probably the best scholarly work on the subject presently on the market. Seals of the spirits are sometimes clearly different and from a more reliable source than those issued from the too much popular MS 2731). Very good Job. Kudos!

    4) "The practice of Magical evocation" by franz Bardon (once again 'The Great Bardon'). Another one to buy. Absolutely!

    5) "The Ritual Magic Manual" by David Griffin. All the G.D. rituals. Absolutely complete, easy to follow and superb! If you want to first be initiated and then after deeply practice the G.D. ritual corpus, this book is your Nirvana.

    6) "Visual Magick" by Jan Fries. A very very good book by an independant seeker and great magician. Focus on individual practices, sigilization, shamanism).Very great stuff for those (like me) who prefer an independant way to practice magic. In fact, everything by Jan Fries is great.

    7) "Magick in Theory and Practice" (but yes Crowley is arrogant)

    8) "Initiation to magic" by Julius Evola (not easy to follow but
    great stuff)

    9) "Taoist Master Chuang" by M. Saso (for those who loves the
Eastern paths, as I do and dont identified themselves to "Winnie the Pooh").

    Good "REAL" Magic to all!

  1. For the past several years, I have been looking for environmental literature to incorporate into a college course level class I'm designing tentatively called "Nature, Animals and Humans: the New Paradigm." When I picked up a copy of "To Honor the Earth: Reflections on Living in Harmony with Nature," by Dorothy Maclean and Kathleen T. Carr, I realized I had finally found a dramatically evocative and useful core textbook, not only for the college course, but for high school and middle school curriculum as well. Although this gorgeous book was published nine years ago, its words grow more timely and powerful as we perceive more clearly and respond more actively to the warnings Nature is currently giving us about the deterioration of our planet's health. The last chapter, "The Promise of Ccoperation," is extremely healing and can help readers of all ages deal effectively with the despair they feel while witnessing the destruction of natural systems. It shows them the avenues of spirit and action that can lead them to trust themselves to make a difference.

5 comments about Sacred Nature: Ancient Wisdom and Modern Meanings.
  1. I bought this book because I'm fascinated by the inspiration that wild places can offer sensitive pilgrims. And this book, I must say, offers precisely that, and so much more. I admire the difficult questions that Cooper tackles, and I also admire how he refuses to leave us with any easy answers. I also like the mastery with which we are taken into the details of ecological science as well as the depths of mystical experience, but always so beautifully and clearly. And that alone is more than enough reason to praise this book so highly! Great scholarship, explained clearly.

  2. Give this book a chance to grow on you. Be patient with it! You may find it in the mind, body, spirit section of your book shop, and you may think "maybe not for me". But don't be put off. It shouldn't be in any one section, really. This book tells biographical stories of pilgrimage, so that's one section for it. But then again, it talks about wilderness ecology, so why isn't in science too? But then again, we're also treated in Adrian Cooper's masterpiece to ancient history, psychological insight, political activism, economic commentary and so much more. Often, it's the links and boundaries between these themes that fascinated me, and where Adrian Cooper proves himself to be such a master of his many subjects.

  3. Adrian Cooper's excellent book says so much about the current debate over Earth and Natural Sciences, and their relationship to mysticism. But he does not look at just the elitist writers and thinkers in their ivory towers of academia. What he does is to listen to ordinary people. That is the book's first value - it breaks down the barriers around science and religion and opens them up to a much wider debate. From that openning, Cooper moves on to ask and answer many other fascinating questions such as "Why do the intricacies of ecology inspire a mystical reverence among more and more people today?" The answers are complex, but Cooper explains them superbly. Like the other reviewers of this book, I recommend Adrian Cooper's wonderful work to everyone across the world.

  4. I particularly admire this book as a clear-minded approach to a much-neglected subjected. Cooper's first success with Sacred Nature is to convey a sense of the modern relevance of this branch of sacredness. The sacredness of nature is not dead. Nor is it dying. Cooper brilliantly manages to reveal the long history of sacredness in nature as a foundation to its contemporary meaning for modern pilgrims. Cooper's second success is to interview these brave and articulate people, showing their confidence in sacred nature as well as their anxieties. All these people are portraytd for us as interesting and instructive folk who should be read carefully and thoughtfully by all those who have any feeling for the great out doors. Finally, Cooper doesn't stop in the wilderness. He shows us how the spirit of trees and mountins is brought back to our local communities, where pilgrims work to share the truths of life they have discovered. So, in conclusion, a superlative achievement by a distinguished scholar. Adrian Cooper deserves our praise and support.

  5. Cooper's manner of explanation is so clear it takes a while before the reader (or at least me) realised what an incredible universe of ideas we're being led into. If I have to pick one centre point, it's the way Cooper constructs the notion of pilgrimage and allies it to politics and personal growth. Can we really resist the ways in which we are subtly subordinated? The pilgrims who Cooper interviews suggests we can. Does this political resistance interact with psycho-analytical self-understanding? Again, the interviews in this magnificant and fascinating book suggest it to be the case. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
