fettucine alfredo with mushrooms

1/2 Cup butter
2 Cups heavy cream
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
12 oz. fettucine
1/2 Cup grated parmesan cheese
1 boneless skinless chicken breast

Grill the chicken breast, then cut up into 1/2 inch chunks.
In a large pot, start to heat some water over high heat.
In a sauce pan, melt butter. Add heavy cream, garlic powder, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat, stirring often, until it just starts to boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring often.
When the 10 minute simmering time starts, add pasta to boiling water, to cook for the 10 minutes.
When the 10 minute simmering time is up, stir into sauce the parmesan cheese, and chicken chunks. Drain the pasta, and put onto plates. Stir the sauce, making sure the parmesan cheese is melted. Pour sauce over pasta. Serve.
