1. I have used this on a number of machines and it is very effective. On one machine it found and eliminated 1400 "pests" as it refers to the spy ware. It is reasonably fast. Install is fairly easy BUT ->
   The scanner may not run the first time on some machines: this can be solved by running the program from the command line version. (This seems to create some file it needs to run). After running the CL version the desktop Icon version works perfectly every time. Sadly, the support staff does not know how to fix this or any other problem. They always respond by telling you to submit a bunch of difficult to collect log files. So would rate the help as zero stars.
   Once I got this running it works great. Updates are very frequently posted and often after an update a scan finds more pests. This catches many things that Window XP firewall and Norton antivirus miss. VERY worthwhile. If you are on dial-up the updates can take quite a while. Also the activity log does not work reliably but that is very minor. Be sure you are on-line when you install since it needs to run an update at install.
   It got 4 stars because of the tech support and first start up issue.

1. Connecting via wifi was a hassle (secure, but a hassle) and the printer sharing didn't work for me. File sharing did work.
   
   The program really slowed down my old Pentium4 so I dumped the McAfee Wireless and used the Windows XP networking options. I recommend using the basic Windows XP features before you go out and buy this product. You might not really need it.

1. I bought it as an upgrade over McAfee 2006. It took over my computer, and slowed down the computer substantially. It has too many features connected in a complicated way that will affect the performance of your computer. Don't buy this if you use windows xp.



2. Unlike the other user's experience, I removed Norton AntiVirus 2007, replaced it with McAfee PC Protection Plus 2007 and had a noticable improvement in performance on my wife's notebook computer. Her Symantec Norton software mysteriously quit working and refused to re-install. After wasting several hours with Norton's on-line support people, I gave up, removed all traces of the Norton program and replaced it with McAfee. This program installed itself without a hitch, did a full system scan, removed 260 incidences of malware/spyware and dramatically improved the performance of my wife's computer. This program costs less and works better in my opinion.



3. The Amazon.com says it is Vista compatible, it is wrong. I installed it but it makes my vista business crashed!!! The system reports that there is big compatibility issues. Do not buy it for Vista!!
