1. Do your research before you buy this version! I have owned previous versions, and they were dogs. Slow and undependable at best, dangerous at worst.



2. Download the demo first. I found this software to be extremely slow and frustrating. Tried to eliminate duplicates but it takes forever, and I mean FOREVER to do so. NOT recommended.

1. learn to MAKE a web page, with lots of templates with business and personal designs, one button publishing, and forms for orders or customer information! For Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000. Hard to find software, but easy to learn!

1. I'm very happy with the new Flash CS3 and Fireworks CS3 (haven't used Dreamweaver CS3 yet). The products are solid and I haven't had any of them crash yet. Everything autopatches so your always running the latest and greatest version. Be aware though that it looks like Adobe removed the web service (SOAP) support from Flash CS3 for any ActionScript 3 type applications. If you target ActionScript 2 and Flash 8 or prior then the legacy web service support is still there. The new URLoader is really nice.
   
   I wish though this suite came with Flex Builder.



2. Good software for managing content for a web site. Some of the HTML it generates can be a little verbose, but all-in-all it does nicely.

1. This software does not protect against online videos- absolutely anything could come up that's in video format. That, to me, is a major flaw.



2. Good concept but appalling implementation. I installed the 14 day trial version and then bought a licence to test it further. Unfortunately the issued licence did not match the installed software. Tried to install the licenced software - can't; trialware is already installed. Tried to remove the trialware - can't; needs a password that I didn't set. Can't get a new password by email because the automated system won't recognise the address I used to register with. Emails to customer support go unanswered. I'm left with an expired trialware that can't be uninstalled and a licence that I can't use. A complete waste of time and money.



3. From the minute - no second - I installed this program my computer quit working properly. My Broadband behaved like 56k dialup. Even after uninstalling I still am having issues. I was a paying customer who wrote several emails to support and didn't get one response. This is a waste of money. I came across a free software that so far works great. Before you spend a dime try K-9. Stay clear of net nanny



4. It might protect a 5 year old but after that, there are work arounds that are just too easy. crtl-alt-del buttons expose the software to deactivation. Or if you go to google, it does not prevent you from going to the picture or video sections. There must be better software solutions out there



5. I have been using NetNanny on 2 computers for over 6 months. I like the filtering and time restrictions, but thats where the pros end. The internet time usage feature does not work and customer support have not been able to offer any help. When I enable this feature the internet is totally blocked upon logging in. Also this program is an all or nothing program, meaning it completely blocks all internet use at the times you plug in, which maybe useful for a family with young children less than 8. Myself I prefer a program that will allow access to the inetrnet for specific programs that I allow for homework etc and then restricted all others. This is not possible with NetNanny at this time. This coupled with the non functioning options within the program and annual subscription rates prompted me to rate it at 2 stars. There are better options available

1. YEAH, it really does work, we purchased this for our company of over 3,500 laptops and it reduced our loss rate from almost 100 notebooks a year to less than 10.
   
   We've dissected this software and know how it works, but we aren't going to detail the guts in a public forum to help thieves disable it. Instead, we're going to assure you this stuff is hard to remove and most laptop thieves don't know this technology exists, or what to look for -until the police comes to arrest them.
   
   This is essentially a piece of "spyware" because it is resident system agent that runs with the OS but will also embed itself into the MBR and the BIOS on some systems. Check with Absolute software to verify if your model number has BIOS support.
   
   It will contact a monitoring center on a daily basis by modem, LAN or even cellular, whatever network connection to the Internet you have, this software will connect to the monitoring center with a basic "hello" packet so the source IP address is recorded. The modem uses a 1-800 number and caller ID can't be blocked from toll free numbers because the US Supreme Court ruled years ago their right to billing supersedes your right to privacy and since the owner of a toll free number is paying the toll,,, voila they get your phone number.
   
   Scenario:
   
   Your computer is stolen, you alert Absolute Software and the next time the Computrace agent notifies the monitoring center it is flagged and will also configure the agent to go "hyper alert" and send hello packets frequently. Absolute then works with law enforcement agencies to help direct them based on source IP or caller ID where to recover your stolen laptop.
   
   Law enforcement agencies are receptive to this assistance because people who steal laptops often steal other items so the cops recover alot of other stolen goods with the help of Absolute Software.
   
   Special note, this software works even if the system isn't fully booted, if the computer is just left at the logon screen, it still works, if the computer is syskeyed and requires a startup password or bootdisk,,, IT STILL SENDS THE HELLO PACKETS.
   
   All the systems can be managed from a web interface at lojackforlaptops website.
   
   IF YOU SELL THE LAPTOP, YOU CAN TRANSFER THE LICENSE TO ANY OTHER COMPUTER AS OFTEN YOU'D LIKE.
   
   Technical support is excellent, we reached support engineers by phone in Canada and they can work the fluent sys engi or end user.
   
   If you have just one, or 10,000 laptops, this is a worthy investment, you can insure your laptop, but isn't your data priceless ?
