  1. This CD-ROM is excellent at teaching the novice how to pick up typing. It has a lot of features that make it easy to understand, easy to learn, and easy to have fun with. I can't say enough good things about this product. If you are just learning how to type or are trying to get back into the groove of typing correctly, this is the product for you.

After downloading this CD, the directions are posted on the screen and verbally communicated to the person typing. I have never seen a better tool for teaching typing.

    See ya next review.

  1. I bought this software over 2 years ago (peep the date) and have
enjoyed myself tremendously. I was new to music creation with software (actually, i totally new to everything) but i was making music (albeit corny) in no time!

The interface is so easy to use. I don't remember a bunch about trying to learn Home Studio, but I know that the help system (online, and printed book) were very good, and helped a lot.

Home Studio 7 is surprisingly rich in features. After a year i still discovered new features. At this point however, i'm ready to move on to a higher version and/or a professional grade.

One of the coolest things that came with Home Studio 7 was the virtual piano. The Virtual Piano lets you use your PC keyboard as a MIDI input device. That will suffice if you're on a budget and can't buy a keyboard to do this.

Home Studio is also offers wonderful ability to archive your works. There is the nomal .wrk file that you do all your work with. Then there is a .bun file. This File packs all your song's audio along wih the MIDI and what you get is a nice bundle (.bun) that can be taken to any machine and used.

This software also allows you plenty of room to customize it.
You can use your on colors in certain places, and use a gif background. It works on Windows 2000 also.

  1. I bought this product back in 2006 as a replacement for Outlook's Business Contact Manager, mostly due to the fact that it included a "project" section that was simpler to use that MS Project program, which is bloated and a time waster. I had a lot of similar issues most of the other reviewers did: slow loading and response, errors that resulted in having to reinstall the program, and that was only with a few hundred contacts.

I got the update for 2.5 in the mail (a free update in my case) a few weeks ago. I'd since switched back to Outlook's BCM again, but I was having constant problems with it and was looking for a permanent out. I reinstalled Intuit's product and was pleasantly surprised that it worked faster and many of the bugs were gone. Although the computer I'm running it on is over twice as fast as the one I had previously, and I still have issues with Tasks and Email not syncing automatically, I'm still impressed with the improvements, and I hope that this turns out to be a permanent replacement.

  2. I am a loyal QuickBooks User. I tried Customer manager 1.0 but it was so buggy I had to drop it. I reluctantly upgraded to version 2 (I fought for a free upgrade and won) and it was only marginally better than version 1. I really could use the functionality it promises, but I came here looking for reviews on version 2.5 since they are offering a $39.95 upgrade. I think I will hold off until I see more reviews on the 2.5 version. I really wish they would get the product working as advertised because I would love to have it work well. If it did it would be a big help.

  3. Were they smoking some weed when they designed this product. First of all, it's two separate applications. Second, you have to sync Quick Books to Customer Manager or vice versa and that takes a while. Third, it just doesn't make sense. You can easily get frustrated using this worthless product. Why couldn't Quickbooks have added this feature to its existing product without have to use it separately. Too many steps in a busy office environment is a waste of time.

This is my first time writing a review and I feel so much better now that I know that there were other users who felt the same way.

  4. This is an absolutely useless product. I was looking forward to pulling up email histories and seeing QuickBooks data right along side, but none of that matters if it doesn't work. Forget the fact that I had to open it, it would freeze, I would end the program, and the reopen it to use it--one day it just stopped accepting new emails. Two hours on the phone with tech support and they told me I had a problem with Outlook. I love Intuit products, but if you can't deliver this in quality form with the English-speaking support team I've come to appreciate, then it's best pulled off the shelf.

MMK (a 7 year QuickBooks user, ProAdvisor, CPA, and disappointed customer)

  5. When QB came out with Customer Mangager I was really excited. The features I need finally available. The concept fits perfectly with my business and it is very customizable. But beware. The program is buggy and creeps to a halt eventually requiring a complete removal and new installation to keep it running at any reasonable pace. I was hoping version 2 was better but now into version and 2.5 and I can't wait to get all my data into something that doesn't hang my system up. Don't waste your time and money on this program. Shame on you QB for the empty promises.

  1. "I've been using BioTutor® and it really helps. It's pulled up my grade from a B to an A. The only reason I was getting a B before was because I didn't have very good test scores. However, on my most recent test (on Genetics) I got a 37 out of 35 points (including a 2 point extra credit question) because I had reviewed that chapter in BioTutor®. It's really helpful!"

9th grade biology student, Portage, MI

  2. BioTutor helped me to excel and gave me an advantage over the other students in my class. BioTutor's probing questions and diagrams make a difficult subject easy to understand.

  3. i was very disappointed in this software. although it does help with test taking, it does little in the way of initial presentaion of the material. even the "tutorial mode" is actually more test taking. so, if simply practicing test questions is the goal, this is a great program. but, in terms of allowing a user to learn the material or go beyond the rote delivery of information in school, this software falls far short of of what it promises to do.

  4. bio tutor is the best bio helping program sold on the market today. it brought my grade up a full letter grade. i had a c- and then when i started to use this program on my next test i got a A. which at the end of the trimester i had an b-. every one should have this program if they are doing bad in bio and want to improve.

  5. The post by GRB (washington, dc) sounds very much the same way I felt when I first installed my BioTutor. However, I did not purchase my BioTutor from amazon. I can not defend GRB that the individuals that rated 5 stars are bogus, but I have to agree with GRB this application software does lack greatly. My son looked at it once and that was it. He uses another biology software, which include videos, graphs, excellent 3D pictures and so on.

PS- Too bad there is no such thing as a "no" no star in this place.
I have to admit to have something like BioTutor on the market today reminds me of my days when I worked at a company that used command line operating system.....It's like a DOS application. (You know those screen that have blue background and white text).

I think the intention behind this program was quick profit...the only thing that is of quality is the box that it comes in. I can not speak the same of their ChemistryTutor, but if GRB states that it has a similar interface than I would not recommened that one either. Buttom Line: Do not purchase this product unless you want to verfiy that what I have stated is correct.

  1. I really enjoy this program and have found it excellent for saving all of my family data. But it's method of saving is a bit obscure. It has what is a backup system to floppies which can not be read from, but must be reloaded to a hard drive instead to be read. I find this tedious, and would much rather the program save to floppies like most programs and then be able to read the information directly from those floppies. I have also found that I have had little luck finding ancestors on any of the additional CDs, so would not recommend purchasing anything beyond the 4CD set. Although you might get lucky, one never knows. It really depends on where your family came from and where they settled in the United States. Otherwise it is a very user friendly program and a great way to store family information and photographs and I would recommend it to anyone trying to organize their genealogy.

  2. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it for a beginner. I have no problem saving data. It saves automatically. It allows you to fill in the blanks to add info and also gives you tons of room to add notes. It also gives you a variety of methods for report viewing and printing. Info can also be used in "copy/paste format". I studied and priced alot of this kind of software, and decided to invest in a least costly product for my first purchase. I will definately update as I get more info and experience in geneology.

  1. I bought this for my 4 yr old daughter for Christmas and when it arrived I played it to be sure it worked on the system that we have. I have no idea what kind of system we have, but the game worked on it. Our computer is about 2 yrs old, but a decent one. No technical problems at all; it was installed extremely fast and easily. The graphics are perfect for my daughter who does not like to be over stimulated with the graphics of a lot of the modern games. It is very simple, nothing fancy; but busytown illustrations are very simple and dated in a good way. The games were age appropriate and had nice print out activities that I could see many children enjoying. There is a bit of chatter between some of the characters before allowing the player to do what they want to do but I think that is part of the design of the game; that you play along with a story, and since this game is designed for younger children then the story would have to be read to them so it makes sense. It was a good purchase and I know my daughter will be happy with it.

  1. this program is very easy to use and has many interesting features such as changing the lightness or darkness, making panoramas, superimposing cutouts onto other pictures and blending the image for realism, and stretching the pictures. you may also drag one picture on top of the other picture and reduce its visual appearance so that it looks like you have 2 pictures in one. this comes in handy when you want to make a ghost appear using a cutout.

about the only feature i found was missing on this program that would have been really useful was the typing words in the picture. if it is there, i couldn't find it and i played around with this software alot.

one of the most useful features was the gamma adjustment which allows you to increase or decrease the lighting, in a different way then just contrast changes. it allows you to see some of the objects that you wouldn't just be able to brighten up. it is more or less like looking through nightvision goggles.

you can adjust the coloring and tweek it to any way you like which makes it extremely handy if you want to make old style pictures with the reddish hue.

the printing features come in handy as well. you can mitchmatch what size of pictures you want on a normal sized paper. you can put a 6X8 with 2 3X5s on the same sheet or whatever you want.

fun to work with and fun to play around with. if you have a digital camera and you just want to change around the pictures to your tastes, this is perfect for you.
