  1. Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer Version 2 Deluxe - This seems to be a nice program, but I have not found much use for it as of yet. My intention, when buying it, was to use it for scrapbooking but also greeting cards. I am sure that I will use it in the future as the program has nice graphics and is easy to navigate. Broederbund products are usually very user friendly.

  2. I love this product. It is easy to use and lots of designs to chosse from.

  3. Havent' done a lot with the product yet - but what i have done was pretty easy to figure out - looks like it will be a cute package for simple designs that you can just drop in your own pics.

  4. I had read other reviews of this product before buying and it is
so much fun. It does take some playing around with it. The help
resource is pretty good and I'm figuring out how to do more and
more with it. I really am having fun with it. I'm able to use my
creativity as far as it wants to go!

  5. I went back to paper scrappin', just wasn't worth the money I paid for it.

5 comments about Corel Snapfire Plus [Ignite Photo Fun].
  1. I have evaluated only the free version of Snapfire, which is pretty polished and seems to work ok for me (I didn't run into bugs), but runs pretty slow on my laptop. I find Picasa 2 and Adobe Photoshop Album to be more full featured. Both run better on my PC, and are easy to use. Picasa 2 is free, and I'm leaning that way. PC Magazine has a good set of reviews of these software packages, so that's a good place to look to learn more.

  2. If you want to get the digital photos out of your camera and out in email, this is a good place to start. Snapfire puts the basic functions where you can find them and makes them relatively easy to understand. It helps if you understand pixel dimensions, but it isn't required.

The first thing you need to do is to see how big your photo will be when displayed on the computer screen of the email recipient. Simply open the photo and click on "zoom to 100%." That's the true size. If you drag your photo into the Photo Tray (see more below on dragging restrictions), you can also see the photo dimensions and the file size by placing your cursor over the photo thumbnail.

If the photo is too big and you want to resize it, you can do so from the Edit menu ("Resize") by setting new pixel dimensions (e.g. 800x600) or by setting the new size as a percentage of the original. Then view the resulting photo size by using "zoom to 100%". When it's the right size, save it.

Crop is also easy. You can crop to any shape you want, or to standard proportions (e.g. 4x6). Again, "zoom to 100%" to see the results.

That's pretty much all it takes to get a photo ready for email. My only complaint is that when you have resized a photo and it is still in your editing window, you can't see its current properties (dimensions and file size) without saving it. (When you save it, it is placed in the Photo Tray, and you can put your cursor over it to see the details.)

Snapfire has standard photo enhancement options such as red-eye correction, "quick fix," adjustments to brightness and warmth, and also a "makeover" option which can be used to whiten teeth and remove blemishes. You can also, of course, rotate photos. And you can insert text and add picture frames.

The same options are available in other software, but I like the fact that this product is not so overloaded with options that it is difficult to use. I would find it relatively easy to guide someone through the processes even if they were inexperienced. And it still has all the features I would need.

I haven't used the Download software, but it appears to put the photos into My Pictures, the standard location. When you go to the Snapfire Home page, you first highlight the folder you want to work with using "Find Files" in the left pane. The individual photos in that folder will appear on the right in the main editing screen. From there you can select one photo to edit, or drag multiple photos into the Photo Tray at the bottom for easier access. If you put your cursor over a photo in the Photo Tray you can see its dimensions and size.

One option that I personally like is the ability to unlock the aspect ratio when resizing a photo. If you ever capture photos from a video source, you sometimes may find the photos to be distorted. For example, people may look fat. Unlocking the aspect ratio allows you to fix the photos.

A warning: I tried sending a Slide Show to a friend and they were unable to open it without obtaining Snapfire software. I felt that I was sending Snapfire advertising, so won't be using this feature.

  3. Picassa, part of the Google suite of programs, is both better than this program and free! What more do I need to add? The user interface of Picassa is easier to use and more responsive.

  4. Good Product, I like this, Its very useful.

  5. Total waste of my time & money..it just does not live up to it's hype

  1. This book is a great introduction into getting something online, using standard templates and a DIY bilder tool set.

In my instance, i found it informative and learned a lot, but I didn't feel my limited skills in the designing did it justice.

With so many professional designers out there, i ended up opting for a professional build (using www.clickezy.com) where i was designed a custom brand new website and then given training and tools to make simple updates without paying a designer (which is where this product kicks in).

If you have the time and inclination, go for it! Otherwise, if you know your limitations in design, etc..(not to mention online strategy, marketing, search engine optimisation, the list goes on!) maybe best to use a pro such as clickezy.com to set it up for you, and then take the reigns with them as a safety net should things go wrong.

    Best of luck!

  2. This is a good starter guide for the do-it-yourselfer. While it's aimed at the web newbie, it's also an easy tool for more experienced web masters to use to easily get sites online. I'd also recommend "The Complete Web Hosting Kit" as a companion, because it gives you the software you need to actually host a web site on your home or office computer for free.

  3. This software is good for a young child or a novice who just wants to put there picture and some minor profile on the web. This is not for a small business or anything reflective of current website sophistication and technology.

  4. Not as simple as adverstised, with some limitations, but useable within a short amount of time.

  1. if you want to make a super clean demo then look no further, this will save you hours of time when you want to make your next demo

  2. This is the best DJ program out right now, no matter what kind of music you listen to, it all can be mixed with this program. You can blend songs together no matter what genre and you can use samples from other songs and put them in your song. I like chopped and screwed music and this is the best program to use for them besides actual turntables. You can use them with your itunes also, just drag and drop from your library [unless their from your ipod] and start mixing, i do it all of the time so it can be done. Just know that you wont be dissatisfied with this program.

  3. This product is a pretty good buy. It's definitely worth the 30 bucks and it's very user friendly. The only small problem with it is some of the minor things like playlist and things aren't as user friendly but aside from that it's been doing a great job and I'm definitely enjoying it!

  4. This software no longer works!

An automatic update will occur with the message "This Home Edition of Virtual Dj is counterfiet, return to the store of purchased and ask for refund."

The website for Virtual DJ states
"eJay DJMixStation is the old name of VirtualDJ HomeEdition.

Unfortunately, the company owning the eJay brand, Empire Interactive, has decided to go rogue and continues to sell this software without paying any royalties for it.

Of course, legal actions are on their way to make them stop and shut this down.

Still, if you are in possession of a copy of any eJay DJMixStation, we recommend that you return it and get a refund, on the basis that this product is a counterfeit, and will definitely not be supported and will probably stop to work in the future."

I purchased the software Oct 10th 2007, so I am contacting Amazon now to see if I can still return it.

  5. I have to say, initially, I loved this product. It was easy to use and just plain fun. Most friday nights, I would come home, hook my laptop up to external speakers w/ a woofer, get some snacks and start DJ'ing the night away! It has a great beatlock feature along with several looping samples you can create. Also, my favorite was doing the 8 count, which helps to extend a song and bring in a new song on top. I mean, it was the perfect program....until 2 days ago.

2 days ago, I tried to access the program, but it told me my version was a counterfeit, although I knew it wasn't. Heck I purchased it here on Amazon. Anyway, there's some junk going on w/ the company, so our home version of the program don't work and I am ticked!!!

So right now, this is not a good buy!!

  1. The idea of this program is excellent, but it has one serious, incomprehensible glitch: it does not preserve the order of tracks within albums. If you like to listen to your music randomized, then that is fine, because that is what you will get, but if the sequence matters you have to manually reorder the tracks. Especially for classical music, opera, spoken-word recordings that is onerous. Smith Micro say they will fix this in the next release.

  2. This product does what it says, although it requires installation on any of the computers that will be involved. I realized I could do the same thing just by opening the drives on my network, but that does not negate the value of this product, which should be very useful for people who are not comfortable accessing other computers on a network.

  1. The Mac Draft I received in the mail is labeled version 5.6, but the program is a 2.5 at best. Maybe when they get to version 11.2 MacDraft will have it together.

This version is 5.6 Professional and overall is hard to work with. Templates are timely to make and do not save or duplicate themselves in a window. Changing scale can only be done in the beginning of the drawing, pages appear in the open window and cant be deleted from view. There is no library with the program.

I downloaded the trial demo version and expected the full version to have improvements and many more features. The full version adds only the print and save function. I would say its worth about $150.00 full retail (list is $350.00ish). I am going to send for the paperback manual, but if its anything like the PDF included in the software package its better left as a tree in some forgotten forest no one will ever hear fall.

Have had the program for a 3 weeks and have completed some shop drawings. Overall seems a bit limited for a pro-grade label. Catchy price tag though.

  2. MacDraft Professional definitely IS the easiest and most professional CAD program available, in my opinon. I wish I had purchased this one first. I have tried several other similar programs, but none can compare with the speed, accuratecy, and ease, associated with MacDraft Professional to produce industry quality floor plans, mechanaical drawings, and other technical detailed schematics. It's no wonder this program is considered an industry leader. Super easy even for the beginner, yet highly professional results with best compatability to just about any format requirement. I've tried the others... THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!

  3. Wow, what a poor excuse for a layout or drafting program! I could do better with a ruler and a pencil (at least the pencil has an eraser). Please stay
away from this program. It's no wonder none of the three Apple stores in my
area had one on the shelf. Have you ever used Visio or Google Sketchup?
Well, then what was I thinking, this is so 1980's software programming.
Zero ability to drop anything into a drawing, Doorways,Windows, Cabinets,
    Plumbing,Electrical appliances, Furniture.....Forget It! It's not there!
Oh, and don't be fooled by their symbols upgrades; Street signs & Bushes cut out of a 1968 textbook!!!!!!!
You have to draw everything from scratch! And for $300 that's a RIPOFF!
I was in a hurry and I choose poorly, don't you do the same.

UPDATE 8/2/08 Read Linda Sniffen's review again...........Employee or distributor of Microspot's Macdraft?? You be the judge........!
