  1. Penny, why did you purchase 3.0 when you did not like VHS to DVD 2.0 Deluxe?

You posted a very negative review about not wasting time and money on 2.0 but you bought 3.0 from Honestech again?!. I smell fish. hehe...

Anyhow, I tried the trial version from the company website, and it worked fine. Actually, I bought 2.0 Deluxe like Penny did and was able to use the same device.

I like the UI and additional features but it seems like my CPU is struggling to run the product comapared to 2.0, and I don't want to buy new comp thus I will stay with 2.0 for now.

  2. Trying to install Pinnacle Video Creator Platinum caused headache and many wasted hours. I even set the compatibility in Windows Vista to be compatible with Windows XP, to no avail! However, Honest Technology's Video-to-DVD Deluxe states distinctly "WINDOW VISTA READY" and also includes the interface box between VHS player and computer. At least Honest Technology offers a Vista ready product so soon after Vista's release, and I commend them for that.

  3. I originally used VHS to DVD 2.0, but when I saw that Double Layer was possible with the VHS to DVD 3.0 I purchased the version 3.0. When using the application I found that the use was easier and better than the ver 2.0.

I have tried other applications but this, my opinion only, the best up-to-press. I assume a possibility will occur, with maybe a version 4.0.

  4. I read a tutorial for converting VHS to DVD and it suggested a program such as this one. I bought a capture "card" and with it came software to do basic capturing and editing... all that this did. It comes with cheesy fade screens that I guess some who are into that stuff would love, but that's about it. It wasn't compatible with my capture card/system and didn't read my sound card so I couldn't use the program to actually capture, just edit. This box is just sitting in the corner now since I have no use for it.

  5. This is A Great program. I don't know much about programs but this is very easy to use. It's not complicated and it's very easy to use.

  1. This is the third Art Explosion product I've owned. I agree with the user who said the "canned" cards could be better, but if you're a user like me who likes to design your own projects, this is a fantastic program. It doesn't make me feel like I'm locked into presets with my hands tied, banging against a program that's not as imaginative as I am.

It's got lots of art, finally searchable in this version! The best of it loads to your hard drive, the rest is available on the disks. The art is divided into vector and raster images, one being "fine art" and the other clip art. Also, there are photographs and the ability to import your own graphics and photos. You can tint, fade, control transparency, crop, draw, even freehand...just great versitility. There's even a sentiment library to provide you with words for your occasion.

I've NEVER seen a program that has better text editing. There are preset galleries to automatically affect your text, or you can make your own using drop shadow, line and character spacing, fill with texture, three different controlable gradients, two shaping option dropdowns...it's just about limitless.

And it's so much more than cards! There are 15 major menu choices that proceed to the subfolders of choices for projects, both preset and blanks. I used the preformatted web slide shows to put together our family photo greeting for the holidays, again, easy and versitile and not a glitch in the web experience.

If there's one drawback I'd like to see Art Explosion improve on, it's the font selection process. It comes with a lot of fonts, but with no viewer or way to make a selection of which ones you want to install except to tediously wade through folder after folder of alphabetized font files, opening them to the famous "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." Other than that, this software's nearly perfect and only as limited as you are.

  2. I have used Greeting Card Factory Deluxe for quite awhile and just upgraded to 5.0. I frequently like to send electronic greetings and have done so with no problems in the previous version. In 5.0 I went to a lot of trouble to design my own electronic greeting but when I went to send it there was no option to do so. The instructions say that the option to send such a greeting is under the file menu as it was in previous versions. However, it isn't there. It isn't just greyed out. It isn't there at all. This is a disappointment to me.

  3. Very pleased with the program. It was quick and easy to install, and after just a few minutes I was able to print out my first card. Although I have not gotten past using the basics, I am looking forward to trying out more of the options. The selections are really nice and have a great variety of NICE cards and is not overpowered with SILLY ones. I also used the the t-shirt selection and was delighted with the results.
    Thanks for a great product.

  4. This product is amazing! I have been using it steadily since the day it arrived and my friends and co-workers can't believe it when I show them the finished products. Using my own digital photos, I've been able to make greeting cards, photo cards and even electronic greetings. I'd recommend this product for anyone interested in creating their own cards using the graphics that come with the program or photographic images of your own.

  5. I love making my own cards & personalizing them. I was disappointed when my American Greeting card program quit working and found they no longer made it. So, I gave this a try and it is just as good, if not better.

  1. This installment of the Hip Hop Ejay series is amazing. It's real easy to use and you can create some amazing beats! It's also saved me a LOAD of money on getting producers to make my beats, as well as saved me money on studio time! If you're trying to branch out and make your own album and beats, this is a MUST have. I've been COMPLETELY satisfied with it. It's a great piece of production software, and it beats the hell out of the Magix Music maker series! There's a wide variety of sounds, loops, keys, guitars, drums, base, etc. The only reason I didn't give this review a perfect 5-star rating was because I wished they would've included more strings, and more elements for Latin-style rap rhythms. Other than that, I don't see anything wrong with it.

  2. This ejay is better than the rest of em so far because the sounds in this one are good acual pianos an other instuments in the 6th one they are all tecno sounding and the bass and poly makers all sound like tecno the 4th one tho you cant make bass sounds an such but like i said better sounds for making beats that are dark and grim and some for making just good beats

5 comments about Tune Tools for iPod: Multi Media Edition.
  1. I have tried using two of these stupid softwares. The first one wouldn't register on my or my friends computer, which both have the requirements. After I exchanged it for a second one, (because you can't get a refund at a store) it kept showing a null error, so I downloaded the patch, which is supposed to help fix the problem; but the patch didn't recognize I had the software downloaded. I emailed the company's tech support and they said they are having problems with this and don't have a solution yet!! Tunes Plus works better and is cheaper. Don't go through the same headache I did!!!

  2. I received this software as a birthday gift this year and was excited about using it to access the contents of my iPod Nano on both my work and home computers. Unfortunately, despite attempting to install this software on three separate computers, it refuses to function. The software does not see my iPod, causes my computer to freeze, requiring a reboot literally every other time I open it, and, worst of all, now that I have tried to hook my iPod up to this software, the screen never changes from 'Do not disconnect' to 'OK to disconnect.' When I attempt to eject the device manually, I receive an error message that it can not be stopped because there are files on it that are in use by another program (Tune Tools). This error occurs even when Tune Tools is closed and not in use. It should also be noted that all of the computers this software has been tried on had well more than the minumum requirements noted by ValuSoft. I have sent an email tech support request (the only way to ask for help with this product), but have not yet received a response. If anything changes, I will update my review accordingly, but given the problems I have experienced (and the MANY very negative reviews of this software found most everywhere I looked) I would highly recommend that you skip the purchase of this product and look into something different.

  3. This product is a complete piece of junk. Not only did it not work on my Vista computer or my wife's iMac but also it doesn't have the features it claims on the box! I finally did get something to happen on a friends XP machine but in the end it screwed up my iPod. It told me that my iPod was damaged so I let it fix it. Well it fixed it all right, so good that the iPod had to be reformatted before it would play music again. Tech support is abysmal also, no answers from the emails I sent and the website just lists the product's requirements.

My specific issues with this product:
    1) Can damage your iPod
    2) It says it can edit and combine music files. This is an absolute lie. There is no functionality for this.
    3) It does not work with the iPhone or iPod touch
    4) Does not seem to work at all on Vista or Mac
    5) Does not seem to work right on XP

I previously purchased the first version of this product "Tune Transfer" from a bargain bin at CompUSA. When I got home it didn't work either but I thought it was because the software was old. That is why I bought this new version. Obviously not.

After my bad experience I did some searching on Amazon and found PD+Rescue for iPod Win/Mac. The reviews seemed generally pretty good so I purchased a copy from Amazon and after installation I can report that it seems to work very well on my Vista machine and on the iMac. It doesn't have the ability to edit sound files but it never claims that it can. It does work with the iPhone, iPod touch and the other iPods I tried. It also adds songs and playlists directly into iTunes (unlike Tune Tools) and has the ability to stop iTunes from erasing your iPod. Wish I had found PD+Rescue the first time.

In summary please DO NOT BUY Tune Tools (or any other software from Valusoft in my opinion.) The software does not work, has features on the box that don't exist in the software at all and they have non-existent tech support.

  4. Your mileage may vary, but in my experience this product is NOT the complete dog that the other reviews point to. I'm running it on a laptop with Vista Home Premium. Once I figured out that you have to have hard drive access enabled on your iPod (a setting in iTunes)it works like a charm.

I successfully cloned ~3000 songs from a 30gb iPod Classic to a new 8gb iPod Nano. I like the ability to edit properties of the songs, delete duplicates, etc.

The interface is only adequate, not great, and the help a little skimpy - but its only 19.95 and it does extend greater flexibility in managing single & multiple iPods.

  5. This was one of those impulse buys that I completely regret!
After confirming that I exceeded software requirements, I installed this piece of trash. Setup seemed to go off without a hitch. When I tried to run it, I got the TUNE TOOLS for iPOD screen and it stayed up there- nothing else. Poking through their knowledge base (on valuesoft's website), I find that this is a known issue (there's a hyperlink in their knowledge base for this problem- Tune Tools is sitting at the splash screen). Most other software companies would have a 'search for updates' after install or an update checker. Not our little friends at valuesoft!
So I do what they recommend and I am able to move past their little splash screen. Next, comes an error: System unable to start- Error NULL or UNKNOWN. From my previous trip to their knowledge base, I saw that there was mention of that too. So I downloaded this patch. The splash screen error merely required a quick update in the property url. This one was an executable. I tried to run it and got an error: previous version of tune tools could not be found, please install tune tools before running this update). So I uninstalled and reinstalled tried again, had lunch, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried again, reboot, try in safe mode, no go, turned off firewalls, antivirus- you get the picture. Nothing working. Went back to knowledge base and searched for my problem, but only ended up finding out there were many more problems with this software. Do not buy this. It is a piece of junk. Just for funsies, I loaded this on a second computer just to be on the safe side. Guess what? Same thing! Believe what others are saying here- this product does not work. Steer clear, big tuna!

5 comments about Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 [OLDER VERSION].
  1. I purchased version 3.0 after newer version came out, and am VERY VERY pleased with it.

I am a Science teacher, and primarily use this to adapt my own travel video for use in my classroom. I have some artistic chops, so my video projects are on the ambitious side. I don't do hokey stuff -- my work comes out pretty stylish and very engaging.

This editing software will allow you to make extraordinarily elegant videos (DVDs I should say), including musical backdrops, voice-over work, replacing existing soundtracks, adjusting sound levels and all other details on a clip-by-clip basis, etc. etc. etc. If you have home video where some voices are hard to hear while others are very loud, you can easily break the clip, invisibly, into as many bits as you need, in order to make some sections louder or softer as needed. You can do all the fades, wipes, etc. just by dragging and dropping things where you want them. I've put in long sequences of subtitles on some clips where the person is explaining something but it is difficult to make out due to windy weather or ocean waves in the background.

My projects run from 30 minutes to around an hour, and the program has shown no signs of gagging on the size of the files or the number of effects and adjustments I make.

You should DEFINITELY go through the "live" tutorial that comes with the package -- it puts you through all the basic steps -- and after that, you're pretty much on your own to figure out all the things you can do; however, I've found the program logically intuitive and I was doing what I consider very good work on only my second project.

I've heard some complaints about version 4.0, and I can't comment on that. But if you can still get 3.0, I'd say it will be one purchase that you won't regret.

People will tell you your DVDs look good enough for TV -- this is going too far, but the results are certainly as good as I have ever expected to see in home video. At the price they're asking, it's a steal.

  2. Software is good but we have constant crashing problems. We have a 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, 3GB RAM, RAID 1 hard drives and windows XP. My father-in-law attempts to use it on a Dell system with the same issues. I concur with the other person who questions whether Adobe performs enough testing or QA. It is also ridiculus that Adobe wants full price for an upgrade after just a year.

  3. If you have a Sony camcorder, plan on buying a plugin that costs as much, if not more, than this software. I love the interface, love the extras. This is definitely and Adobe product, it just doesn't natively edit MPEG2's.

  4. I really like the ability to scrub from frame to frame, but APE is only limited to 30fps, and I need to be able to scrub at a selectable framerate. The fact that I can't makes this software almost useless to me, and the fact that the audio placement feature is kind of buggy made the software useless the rest of the way. I've given it a fair shake, but it's not on my list of favorites.

  5. I upgraded to Adobe Primere Elements 3.0, since the company seemed to have a good reputation and version 1.0 worked flawlessly on my computer. From the beginning (May 2007) I kept getting error messages when reading in from my camcorder. They had me buy another Gig of memory, load minor patches, get upgrades from Apple, but nothing seemed to work. We checked by loading DVIO.exe and the camcorder would down load just fine, as it would via the windows application. Their technical help said they would escalate this and they would call back. Several months later I called and they had closed my request without a call to me. So we reopened it, re-tried a few things, then escalated it again. Several months later I called again and found out it was closed again without any contact with me. Again, we re-tried a few things, escalated it and NOTHING. It is now January of 08, I called again and the next day they called back and told me to delete everything ADOBE on my computer - then reload the operating system (which means I would have to reload all my software). When I called a talked to a supervisor, I asked if ADOBE really cared if there software ever worked on my machine and he indicated that they really did NOT care if I continued to be a customer. So if you buy an ADOBE product and you have problems that are not simple - you are on your own!

  1. While I realize our experiences with a company's customer service varies, I just want to echo another user's complaints with Nova. I have Their Seasons, Events, etc. software in addition to their Greeting Card and Business Card packages and found their suport to be quite terrible. It took multiple emails and numerous excuses (operating system corrupted, OS not designed well, etc.) before admitting their software was at fault. But, the price is right at $0.00 - a penny more is a penny too much, IMHO

  2. This product was much nicer than I ever thought it would be. It has great images and unlike most low priced clip art I buy, it actually comes with a book showing you all the images printed out! I did nto expect it but it's great! I did have a question about how to use a particular image but the call was answered quickly by Nova and they even showed me how to edit the image to make it work for me even better! Very very pleased, especially with the price!

  3. Last year my mother let me borrow this software to create holiday greeting cards to mail to friends, family, and business contacts. This holiday season I bought myself a copy. I did not know how to install the disc so I called tech support. They kindly held my hand while I downloaded it to my computer. They explained that these images can be used in almost every type of software imaginable (greeting card, label, scrapbook, and word processing was a few examples I was given). No holiday has been forgotten in this image library. It does not matter what faith you follow, you will find professional quality images in this software

  4. This will be the second year using this clipart for my seasonal cards and projects. I have even given members of my sewing club copies of this. This really gives you the ability to make great looking holiday cards.
There is a large number of categories included in this image library, including some unlikely ones. There are images for: Super Bowl Sunday, Kwanzaa, St. Patrick's Day, Graduations, BBQ's & Picnics, Back-to-school, and many, many more!

  5. The clip art you get with this package is very good. I bought it for clip art that I could use for my engagement/wedding announcements, "Save the date" Magnets, Invitations, ect. For these purposes, the clip art was exceptional. The Catalogue sent with the program is a wonderful addition and is a definate plus. However, the pictures are where I felt the program makers let the customer down. There are only 5 categories of pictures. Three of those categories are religious. The other two categories are seasons and holidays, both of which are well stocked with great photos. If you are looking for A LOT of religious photos as well as,again, an excellent collection of clip art, this is your product. If you just want the clip art, again, this is your product. However, if you are buying it for the pictures and expect any sort of variety, do not buy this product.
