5 comments about Hollywood Screenwriter.
- Please, please, please, do yourself a big favor and save your pennies, stand on the street corner if you have to and take donations and buy Final Draft. Sometimes when you pay less you don't get a bargain, you get a lot of headaches which is exactly what this program is. THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT IS EXCELLENT. I feel sorry for them because it takes both: a good product and good tech support. This does not format stage plays professionally. If you're like me, you don't have the time for all of this aggravation. Spend your money on the professional quality programs, work like a professional and spend the extra time that you're not being aggravated perfecting your craft. I'm giving it 2 stars for the tech support.
- Although it doesn't come with much of a manual, it will get my screenplay "down on paper". No software will make me a better writer but, if you just need something to do the formatting as you write, this is it. You can learn how to use it in about 10 minutes, and it doesn't cost a bundle.
- Hollywood Screenwriter is not worth the time nor the money; it is designed for the amateur who wants to get "something" on paper, not a professional who not only wants to get something on paper, but wants that something to be the best he/she can create...and then be able to have it work with other elements of filmmaking including Scheduling, Full Production Breakdown Reports, Industry Standard Revision Draft Colors, Rundown Sheets, Budgeting, and Storyboard Linking.
Of what use to the film industry is a program that limits how producers, directors, other writers and production members can use a script, such as that produced with Hollywood Screenwriter? It makes no sense to have to re-type a script using other software that is Industry Standard. Why not just buy a professional program and use it, from the beginning.
I recommend Movie Magic Screenwriter, which formats for--among other types--films, stage plays, telvision producutions, multi-media productions and animations...and also meets Industry Standards for working with various elements of productions. It also imports and converts scripts written in Word, WordPerfect and other formats; so there is no need to retype a script.
A writer who wants to be thought of as a professional should use professional writing tools.
- This program is great. The process of writing a screenplay was sped up by the drop down devices employed by this software. It's really easy to use and upload. Yes, you have to leave the disc in your drive in order to use it, but who cares? If all you want is a script that will print onto plain white paper (spell check included), you've found what you need at a very low cost. I was tempted to pay over $100 for the other programs, but decided to stick with this one. All I wanted was a script, and that's what I got from this software. 5 stars!!!!
- It's a nice program but based on older technology. It won't download to the harddrive.

5 comments about Microsoft FrontPage 2002 [OLD VERSION].
- If you want to produce standards compliant code that will work with multile servers and browsers then stare clear of FrontPage. Try Homesite or if you have the money DreamWeaver.
- Quite simply this software does not work, and I've been using other versions of FrontPage since it first came out--check out the Microsoft web site--they have loads of 'fixes' for this software. None of the web component functions work, and neither does shared borders. I can't imagine that they would continue to sell this.
- I read some of these reviews and I must say that 2002 is so deep I think I feel into a hole. As far as the software being difficult, I spent considerable time in the library with some great books. I also bought some books, visual being the best and worked with the software. I took my first order for a web site while I was still learning and let me tell you forms just beat the living hell out of me. What I did was to look at some of the preformed pages of front page and looked at the html andlearned how to use tables with forms and learned even more.
I use front page every day with my ebay items and it is a very professional presentation.
What a wonderful powerful program. I literally have no problem with this program. I don't use the microsoft templates anymore as I make my own using microsoft photodraw v2.
Someday I guess, as I get better I will take some courses in dreamweaver, which I understand is difficult. But Microsoft Front Page 2002 was a piece of software that I was able to challanage myself. Truthfully it is maybe 100 hours of learning and practice, but it is well worth it.
Good job Microsoft, hey, did I say that? In the end if you buy this and think it will be an easy learn, forget it. It is web design. Difficulty is moderate, but you must focus and practice to learn this software.
Take command and get and learn front page, find a good host and boom you are in with a professional website for your business.
- Microsoft Office FrontPage 2002 delivers on its title's promise -- it is a real solution for creating and managing Web sites. Although I began using FrontPage only from this version, and in 2007 -- when Expression Web and SharePoint Designer have already "hit the road" -- is still is a great program. First and formost, you don't have to perform the tedious problem of coding HTML (HyperText Markup Language) -- instead you can enter what you want the browser to display, like in Microsoft Word. Then, you can easily add hit counters and other Web components. As a "special edition", my copy included some bCentral eCommerce Web components, that make managing a business Web site easy as pie. Therefore, I doubt the popular belief that you can't manage a business Web site with FrontPage. Next, adding scripts and other Office documents is easy -- you don't have "call" the script from the server -- actually, you don't even need a server to do this at all! Instead, you can add or edit scripts in the HTML view, in Microsoft Script Editior, or in Visual Basic Editor. Finally, publishing Web sites is easy with FrontPage -- you don't have to publish everything, but instead, you can simply choose what you want to publish. I probably will be upgrading to neither Expression Web nor SharePoint Designer. But I certainly will upgrade to Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 sooner or later. Microsoft says that Expression Web is for professionals, and SharePoint Designer is for businesses, and that FrontPage is good for neither of these. But as I found out, FrontPage is good for both.
-
After learning some HTML on my own, and struggling to set up my first Web page, I came to appreciate FrontPage 98. Later, I upgraded to FrontPage 2002. Microsoft had a winner in this affordable, easy-to-use Web page design tool.
I use it exlusively to do all of my Web site design these days. It has a few quirks, and is not always as intuitive as I think that it should be, but, hey--it sure beats doing markup manually!
I like it!

5 comments about CorelDraw Graphics Suite 12 [OLD VERSION].
- Awesome product! So user friendly, and a must have for all graphic designers and desktop publishers!!
- I am very impressed with the improvements in CorelDraw 12. I couldn't be happier. I have always used CorelDraw for great black & white diagrams, but this version seems best of any. I was very impressed that I can ungroup, move around points and lines in the individual sections, and they will all remain selected while being moved, then go back to the original pick tool and regroup them again. So much easier! I'm still learning and finding improvements, but it looks cleaner and easier to use than ever before. If you can get your hands on a copy of this program, jump at the chance. The tendency to crash of version 11 is gone! It's going to be really fun.
- I have noticed favorable reviews here, with the reviewer asserting intimate knowledge and experience with this suite, its forerunners, or several other programs. I cannot address how someone with a decade of experience might react to this tangled mess, only how someone with slight familiarity with a paint program or similar might react.
First, opening the box and installing the programs is a chore. Unlike the dozens of other programs I have on my system, rather than taking half an hour, or so, installing these programs took the better part of two afternoons...it was if the developers consciously decided to find another way, rather than standards users are familiar with, to do everthing. Particularly annoying this the spyware, in the guise of searching for updates, which is at least difficult to remove, if not impossible. The tool which Corel, alone among software developers, seems to have been forced to put in their help files on their inadequate site, doesn't work, at least the way the instructions read. Hopefully, with several manhours more effort this spyware can be removed from my system.
Worse than this though is the tutorial, presumably for first time users to familiarize themselves and get started with this product.
First lesson "Using the toolbar to start a drawing"
On the toolbar click "New" button to start a new drawing...so far, so good. This desirable state of events quickly ends, however, for the second instruction begins"
"From the Zoom levels list box"...and nothing more. No hint where this box may be found, nothing in the totally inadequate help file nothing....the "tutorial" is then over for the new user.
Sit and stare at the graphic representation in the middle of your computer screen while you contemplate exactly how much a program which displays a picture of a piece of paper, plus took a manday or so to install spyware on your system, is worth.
- I have been using CorelDraw since it first came out. This software has helped me create stunning results effortlessly. Also, CorelDraw's layout and ease of use beats Adobe products hands-down! I love CorelDraw and hope they stay in there as they have a "winner" of a product despite Adobe's overly-touted, expensive and snobby software. Hang in there CorelDraw, you're the very best... I love your product! Been a loyal fan of yours for years and years...
- I got this to make simple designs, for shirts, etc. I must say that it is extremely complicated. It's way too picky about what you can do and how you can do it. Not user-friendly at all. I've gotten a basic understanding of it over the past several months, but generally, it's just way too much. Too complicated. It did come with several other programs, such as a photo program, an animation program, etc. but all in all, I wish I had Photoshop.

2 comments about Cakewalk SONAR 6 Studio.
- I was looking for a sequencer application to use with my soft synths and Cakewalk's SONAR 6 won out over Sony's ACID 6, which is still slanted towards working with loops, because that's where it started life.
SONAR 6 comes in a few different flavors, and I settled on the middle choice (Studio), because I didn't want to be at the bottom of the upgrade path. The price is reasonable for the power they give you, but...
Don't expect to dive right into this one without having the manual nearby.
You probably won't be able to kludge your way through SONAR, because just about every feature you work with has options and sub-options, and there must be three different ways to do something easy that should just have one, clear method. Case in point is the metronome - ok, you've got menus and submenus dedicated to metronome control -swell, but it's just too easy to inadvertently turn it off, then spend several minutes tracking down where you went wrong...I'm just trying to keep time, for cripes sake!
It IS highly customizable as a result, and to be fair, the more I work with it the easier things get - but not everyone has the time for option overload.
Plus the look of SONAR is kind of clinical, and it's 2007. You wouldn't see this interface on a MAC.
Propellerhead's Reason 3.0 Propellerhead Reason 3.0 is beautiful and comparatively far more intuitive than SONAR 6, but it's a self contained application that doesn't do plug ins, per se.
So you need to make sure the tool you're considering does what you need it to before you buy, unless you like having a bunch of tools.
- I wish i could have got the producer version for this price because it has the PSP vintage warmer($159)But at 40 bucks this is a steal, and your able to update to version 8 for $100. I've been using Cakewalk products since 2000, and they keep getting better. 1 1/2 thumbs up (only cuzz there is no warmer)

2 comments about Lego My Style Kindergarten.
- Our 4 year old grandson enjoys the challenge of this game. He has conquered the preschool version and takes great pleasure of alternating between success and challenge.
- This game is not as good as the preschool version, which is great. Even the kids said they did not like it. There wasn't much to it. It was more on the level of beginning computor skills. The company should redo it or rename it to 2-3 year olds.

5 comments about Starry Night Complete Space & Astronomy Pack.
- Starry Night is technically a good product but is not very user friendly in use. Limited view area due to clutter in the page layout limits the useability of the product and the screen area setting of 1024 X 768 pixels required is not very compatible with most older Windows programs. I have to change my screen settings each time I use Starry Night to get the best page layout and then change back again when I leave the program. Several of the programs provided with telescopes are better at providing a much more realistic view of the night sky for star location. Advantages of Starry Night are very current data on satellites, comets and other fleeting phonemena most of which is only visible to observers in very rural areas away from urban light pollution.
- Starry Night is the best astronomy program i have ever seen! Starry Night is very easy to use and it has great graphics! Starry night has great pictures of the planets and has a cool spaceship mode allowing you to travel through the universe and visit other galaxies! Definantly a great program for the astronomy beginner!
- I have always enjoyed looking up at the night sky but I couldn't identify very many stars or planets. With Starry Night Complete Space & Astronomy Pack I have solved my problem. It will show me what the sky will look like before I go outside. It names the stars that I am trying to locate. In most cases it will even give me the proper pronunciation of each star. I have learned how to go forward or back in time to see what the sky will look like when I'm on my next vacation or what it looked like on the night that I was born. Love the program and recommend it for any amateur astronomer.
- Bought this as gift for someone who's been into astronomy for awhile. I didn't know much about it; had to rely on the reviews of previous purchasers. She told me it's terrific - no problems computerwise and it does everything it advertises.
- I like the manfrotto mono pod. It os light weight. My canon 70-200 zoom has a collar and i can lossen it a bit for vertical as well as horizontal shots. The only problem is the bottom pull out could be a made sturdier.
That is why i gave it 4 stars.
