  1. As a web designer/developer this package has everything you need to get going and/or update your older software. Photoshop CS2 is vastly superior to its predecessors in terms of all the new offerings. There are products in the package that are totally useless (I mean come on - what self-respecting web designer uses GoLive?), but it was far less expensive to buy the bundle than individual products.

  1. Thsi program is very easy to use and is all I need to make my songs.

  2. I have been really having allot of fun with Play Music. I hope to get a keyboard to use with this for christamas.

  3. Granted, I didn't pay a lot for this software, but I have found it very, very time-consuming to use. It is next to impossible to undo a mistake. In fact, if you make a mistake, you often have to simply delete your entire work and start over. Very poor software documentation as well. Wish it was better...but, I'm going back to just using blank staff paper!

  4. I bought this program because I wanted to create professional looking scores within a budget. This software package was very affordable and fairly easy to install and operate. I would recommend printing and thoroughly reading the product operation manual (included via Adobe Reader)prior to operating this software. The only issues I had were that certain functions such as creating ties and slurs(which will take some practice to master)could have been easier to add to your score. This requires that you read the specific instructions. Other functions were very self explanatory based on the set up of the software.

Overall, if you have basic experience using Windows, need music notation software on a budget, and don't mind working through some minor bugs, this product is a great choice.

  5. Poor documentation. Clumsy to use on some of the finer points of music notation. I've lost file after file during the middle of notating music due to buggy programming corrupting the file while trying to fix musical mistakes. I guess you get what you pay for. I'm going elsewhere and will pay for a more sophisticated program this time.

3 comments about ColorVision Spyder 2 Plus (Win/Mac).
  1. The Spyder 2 Plus is easy to use, directions are clear, and the results are amazing. If you have spent hours adjusting the controls on your monitor to obtain "correct" colors, you will enjoy the ease of use of the Spyder and the improvement in screen colors. It is also easy to calibrate your scanners and printers so that "what you see, is actually what you get."

  2. If you own a Mac and use OX-X Tiger or later, this is NOT the device for you. It may be fine for a Windows/PC user. ColorVision phased the Plus edition out toward the end of 2004. Their support for it is quite limited here in the middle of 2006. Mac users with OS-X Tiger or later OSs will discover that synching a printer profile with their monitors cannot be done with the included software. There is also an annoyance in performing this synching even if you use a Widows-PC. In order to synch your monitor with your printer, you must scan in a color chart. Should you lack a scanner, or not have one available, again, you will not be able to create a printer profile and hence synch your monitor with you printer - which is the sufficient purpose of this device.

You will, however, be able to re-profile your monitor such that it will show colors consistent with some objective standard. This may come much closer to your printer/paper profile than the image presently displayed on your monitor. This device may be very useful to owners of older Mac OS operating systems (although while it is consistent with OS-X, I do not know how old or whether this software was created pre-Panther OS) and Windows PC users - should they have scanners on line. Apparently that's who the designers of this device had in mind. I have returned my Spyder2Plus in exchange for a Spyder2Pro, ColorVision's currently supported product, which I hope will allow me to competently profile both my monitor AND my printer. I look forward to favorably reviewing that purchase in the near future.

  3. I am not entire fond of the Spyder 2, but it is much better than Adobe Gamma. One catch is that it doesn't take into account the ambient lighting like the Eye One Display products. It also requires manual adjustment of the monitor controls rather than using a common, nearly universla interface to do it programatically. And last, they are VERY slow with drivers and do not release any WHQL certified drivers; this is a big deal if you want to use the hardware with Windows Vista x64 (you can't).

  1. Now anyone can play George Martin, while also playing John, Paul, George and Ringo! Lay down some tracks using Paul's Hofner 500 bass, add some of Ringo's distinctive drum riffs, Let Georges Rickenbacker lead the assembly down a road meandering to rhythm provided by John's Epiphone Casino. Then feed it through the same amps used at Abbey Road or Twickennham and then mix it all into your own ideal BeatlesFan Song.

    Guitars include Gretsch Firebird (1959), Gretsch Tennessean (1963), Rickenbacker 360-12 (1965), Martin D-28 (1966), Fender Stratocaster (1956), Epiphone Casino (1956), Fender Telecaster (1951), Gibson SG (1960), Les Paul Goldtop (1957), Gibson J200 (1966), Hofner 500 Bass (1963) and Rickenbacker 4001S Bass (1964).

If your a serious musician or studio mixer this high end tool should be in your arsenal, if your a serious Beatles fan this will provide hours of enjoyment discovering what it was about their sound and how it all came around.

  1. I don't know if I am confused or if this is just not what I wanted but there weren't 750,000 images. It is not that easy to follow and hard to find the pictures or images. I ended up uninstalling it and just put it aside in case I need it sometime. I think it was a waste of my time and money.
