5 comments about F/A-18E Super Hornet.
- I am a dedicated flight sim fanatic and have nearly all of them - even a few turkeys. I feel strongly about supporting the software companies making them because they are starting to drop like flies. Still, this program was an insult to flight sims. I think 90% of the budget went into producing the deck scenery - which admittedly is cool, but after that almost everything about this sim is below par. The graphics and flight model are reminiscent of sims I played 10 years ago, yet my PIII still had difficulty producing adequate FPS to get any sensation of flight. Landing on the deck was like a fly hitting fly paper - bazaar! Even a patch won't help this one. Sorry DID. You had a loyal following but this killed it.
- I hate to think how many simulators I've used over the years, each time searching for the "perfect" simulator. Noteable military sims that came close were Parsoft's A-10 and Graphic Simulations F-18 Korea.
The short story on DID's F-18 Super Hornet is that although it isn't perfect, it has some great features that make me want to keep it (at least until the next great program comes out). First, the carrier ops are a great addition to the program. Following the commands of the tower and the deck handlers really aids in the reality of the experience. I personally like the detailed evaluation of each and every landing (the judging can be harsh!). On the downside, the graphics are a step behind, and the flight model seems a bit simplified, but I found the frame rate with a P-3, 500mhz computer and a 16mb 3dfx card to be very satisfactory. I would like to see a full campaign model, true career ladder, and a comprehensive landing score (as would happen in a real carrier environment), but what is here is good and worth a look.
- Generally underrated for "dated looking graphics" and "lack of campaign". Is this the same sim we're talking about? This sim certainly deserves much more credit than what seems to be general opinion. But don't let that hardcore "G.O." fool you. This evaluation comes from a guy who has played all flight sims out there. In this sim you will find the most realistic carrierdeck action to date, a fully clickable and sharp looking cockpit, beautifully rendered/coloured skies, good handling/avionics (although simplified), and beautiful external views on the super hornet. Sure, the voice of the pilot (you) is terribly annoying and the ingame sounds are under par and the game feels unfinished. However, the challenging missions in the two theatres Baring Sea and Indian Ocean and the above mentioned strongpoints makes this sim a must have for the F/A-18 fans. The clear manual and training missions also make this sim accessible for the novice virtual pilot. The Gold edition should soon bring completion of this fine sim. Keep up the good work on flight sims DID !

- It's not made by DiD, it's made by Di (Digital Integrations F/A-18 Super Hornet).. Again it's not DiD, they made EF2000 and TAW and are a different company.

- Do not buy anything from Pinnacle. Their software deceptively leads you to believe that you need to purchase further programs to burn DVDs. I did so and got incorrect activation codes twice before requesting a refund which they have refused to give even though the product does not work and meets their advertised return policy. I have filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for deceptive trade policies and knowingly offering defective products.
- I have purchased this product one week ago and have yet been able to install it because of software errors. I have contacted tech support who have yet to provide me with a solution to this problem.
See for yourself and go to the Pinnaclesys.com website and look up support for this product.
This product is problematic and now I'm out $120.00 because you can not return opened software.
- I've worked with various Pinnacle Studio versions since last decade, and they've all had two things in common:
1. When the program works, it's superb.
2. The other 50% of the time, it crashes frequently, and hard!
For years, Pinnacle had designed the market's top, novice-affordable video editing/authoring platforms, but for some frustrating reason, they just can't seem to keep the bugs out. This verson is no exception.
Lately, the competition in this market has mushroomed, and there are better alternatives available for the same price. At last, others have emulated the Pinnacle platform while eliminating the work/creativity-killing bugs.
My advice? Shop around. Google the competition. But save yourself the frustration and steer away from anything Pinnacle.
- This is the worst software I've ever worked with. Since April, I've had nothing but problems with it. Every time I do their recommended "fix", it creates another problem. Tech support is a joke - I've not had one e-mail response that helped & when I went on their live support, the tech kept disconnecting me. I've also had to reformat my hard drive 4 times because of this product. To add salt to the wound, I've lost 3 months of work I did on creating a DVD for my church.
Don't even think about buying this piece of garbage. I've invested $400 in it & am sure I will have to fight Pinnacle to get a refund.
- My experience with Pinnacle Studio Mediasuite 10 is that it has killed two separate computers of mine that I have tried to install the software onto. It caused such a drop in performance, not just while using the program, but while using other programs as well. Blue screen errors and random lockups that even with Windows XP SP2 I had to do a hard shutdown to escape. I ended up having to do a complete hard drive recovery to finally fix the problems. I am positive that Studio is the problem because after recovering the first computer I tried to install the program onto a second computer and the blue screen errors and drop in performance started on that computer. Just like the plague of years gone by; how many computers have to die before Pinnacle comes up with a cure?! My recommendation is to avoid it like the plague.

5 comments about Adventures of the Teen Furies.
- This book really spoke to me. It reminded me so much of my teenage years and my friends. The boys, the fights, the confusion about who you are and what you want. It was very true to what teenagers think and feel. Ms Davidson, Have you truly gown up yourself? It seems like you are still thinking like a teenager.
As a young adult my friends and I played "Dungeons and Dragons" (some of us still do). It was such an escape for us from real life. We could be strong when we really felt weak, outgoing and brave when we felt shy or be beautiful if we felt fat or ugly. This group of friends used their superhero alter-egos to work through some of their problems and insecuries, but once the game was over they still had to face each other and real life. The frienships you form in your teenage years may or may not last through to adulthood, but they help define your personality in some vital years. If being a teenager is about anything it is about discovering who you are and being comfortable with yourself. As great a book as this is for the young adult age bracket I think it is also an insightful peice of literature for a parent to read. In case you have forgotten what it was like to be confused about everything and torn between being an adult and a kid, take a refresher course in TEENAGER 101 and pick up this book. I think parents should take a look at what's between the lines here. It may just help you communicate with your child in a whole new way. Not to throw off the young adults here though. It is a hilarious and really entertaing book. Good job Mary Janice. It helped me remember what it was like to be a teenager with all the good, the bad and the ugly.
- OK, I grew up with the author, so it was a given that I'd buy this book. I logged on and had it delivered to my house. Then I made her sign it and write something nice about me. Then I actually read it. It's a great read. Quick, funny and a little close to home.
- This book brought back both good and bad memories from my teenage years, but isn't that what a good book is supposed to do? I really enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to anyone who has teenage children.
- I am a 55 year old mother of two and I loved this book. It is teenagers all the way. It is exciting, well written, fast moving and a joy to read.
- I have read and loved all of MaryJanice Davidson's novels and novellas and decided to give her Young Adult offering a whirl. This is a wonderful novel with a great deal of humor and some poignancy to boot. Andrea Grouper is a typical teenage girl going through growing pains while convincing her paranoid driving coach that she has been driving since she was eight years old and keeping her eye on her troubled friend Meredith. When she convinces Meredith to join her in visiting her old friend Brenda, she does not know how she would interact with her. But it turns out that not only is Meredith adored by Brenda and a new crop of male friends, she also becomes part of a game in which they pretend to be superheroes and villains. They also have some adventures with the male friends. Andrea accepts to become George's girlfriend while she drools for Kyle, the one Brenda has set her eyes on. Meredith hooks up with Terry, who is as eccentric as she is at times. However, how will the group cope with Meredith's suicidal episodes and the extreme side effects from her medications? How will they cope with the knowledge that she'd had a nervous breakdown a few months before? Will Andrea be able to break free from George and tell Kyle how she feels about him? And are their imaginary characters a way to escape from their sometimes troubled realities?
This is one of the best Davidson stories I have read. She has a wonderful sense of humor, as all of her faithful readers are well aware, but she also adds some dark situations and poignant scenes in this offering. Meredith saddened me at times. She goes through some rather painful things brought on by her depression. She has a wonderful friend in Andrea. Speaking of whom, Andrea is the signature Davidson heroine in that she is a smart mouth and is fiercely independent. She likes the idea of having a randy boyfriend who worships her even though she is not that into him. Those scenes made me laugh. Terry is also hilarious. He is a hopeless flirt who is not afraid to voice his opinion on everything. Kyle is the quieter one of the bunch, but he also turns out to be as three-dimensional as the other characters. As said earlier, this is one of Davidson's best stories. This also happens to be one of her first writing efforts. She started out writing Young Adult books and then branched out into writing romance and fantasy (or a combination of both genres). But she will release another YA book later this year. Adventures of the Teen Furies is a true testament of just how talented and versatile Ms. Davidson is. She is now one of the most popular romance/paranormal authors out there and for good reason. I recommend this YA novel most highly.

1 comments about Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional Upgrade from Professional Version 6 [Old Version].
- Website indicates this is latest version, which isn't quite true. What you get in the box is V7.0.0. If you check for upgrades after installation, it will download V7.0.5 and V7.0.7. 7.0.5 has to be installed before 7.0.7, and they each take as long or longer to download and install as it took to do the original install from the disk in the box.
Other than that, I have always been extremely pleased with Acrobat, and I expect I will be with this latest (7.0.7) version as well.

5 comments about PlayR Jukebox XXL.
- I had to write a review because I use it to play back music. It works and I have no complaints. My daughter has emailed a musical slide show to my sister in Utah and she thinks it's just great. We loaded in some family pictures from our recent get together and added the theme music from some CDs we had and emailed it over...so she gets to watch the family slide show we compiled. It's really wonderful. I'm still learning a little at a time on how to use all the features, but I'm getting there. It's definitely fun and interesting.
- I use playR jukebox XXL to play back my list of songs, like one would on their CD players, except with XXL I can add video playback or if friends are over I could hook up my digital video camera and have live input of my guests on the monitor, which could be really fun especially when you add the real-time special effects. For example I use the ghost like effect to turn everyone passing or dancing in front of the camera into ghostlike images and change the back ground room color to bright fusia. If it come down to it and someone feels like a being a real life DJ they could get on the PC and remix with cross fades and real-time effects like distortion/reverb/echo/compression. It's fun. Difficulty level isn't bad at all, if you understand the concept of remixing samples in songs. If you enjoy music and want to add a little something special to your entertainment system...this is it. :)
- I read an article in some magazine that jukebox or dj programs like this are getting huge. I'm a straight up club kid so I know whats up with the whole rave lifestyle and I agree. Trance and electronic music in general are booming right now and I can actually spin a mix on this program not to mention throw up some wicked videos and effects. These people know what they're doing. This is candy for the kids and clubbers!!!
- I purchasedPlayR jukebox XXL because I liked the idea of being able to mix my own songs. I guess that was just all bells and whistles because once I downloaded the program I was never able to get my songs from my hard drive to the playlist. I tried to check out the remix section of the program and it kept shutting down the system and told me that the program was not responding. Also, once you download the program it tells you to change the resolution of your system. I dont want to have to change my computer resolution everytime I plan on running this program, it messes up all of my desktop settings. The program is just too confusing and I plan to go back to my Musicmatch jukebox program which I have NEVER had a single problem with. I guess I was just fooled by thinking I could get something extra for the same amount of money. I guess that goes to show you that things are not as good as they always seem and if you have something that you are satisfied with you had better stick with it. As a final note, Musicmatch jukebox AUTOMATICALLY transfers my recent and new music files to run on its playlist.
- I have to say, that this product is not all that it is said to be. You can't download songs, it is impossible to do. The company told me "well, the sites must no longer exist" I attempted to download many different songs, with NO success. It is difficult to use as a player, as you can never get your songs into the play list. Then my software totally crashed my system, I uninstalled, and reinstalled and no matter what I do it gives me an error, and then closes the program. I have uninstalled it, and put it in the box. END OF STORY.

- I'm not exactly a computer expert. Actually 'computer expert' and my name should probably not be used in the same sentence. When I decided I wanted to create an RSS feed for my website, I was prepared for a long and painful journey. I had seen FeedForAll mentioned in a few RSS forums, so I gave it a try. In less than one hour I had my RSS feed up and running!!!
Programs that do EXACTLY what they should, and are SIMPLE to use are sometimes hard to find. If you need an RSS feed for your website, it just doesn't get any better than FeedForAll.
- This software really takes the guess work out of feed creation. The software will create RSS feeds in just a few minutes. It has a built in wizard and advanced users can use extensions that support things like iTunes and MediaRSS.
I even created a podcast, and it only took a few moments.
- Having only learned what an RSS feed was a few weeks prior to using this software, I was amazed at how simple it was to add one to our website with FeedForAll. Now we can offer our photography specials through an RSS feed if our customers want it. I am amazed at how easy it was.
- Haven't used like I thought I might. I do not have enough fresh everyday content to make the most use of a rss feed. But it does work well.
- Very pleased with the detail, presentation and ease of use right out of the box. It does require somewhat of a "techie" background, but overall I like it. A little time consuming to create an initial feed, but once you're done the maintenance becomes very easy. The completed RSS feed be get published right on Yahoo!s Site Explorer. Of course there is always a wish list. At the top of the list would be 1) the ability to integrate XSL stylesheets; 2) generate a "Google-style" XML feed. Including these two items would make this a 5 star product. By the way I email'd a question to the web site and got a very helpful and prompt response.
