1. The description does not say that this is a Macintosh product. The company actually does have a windows product that is available from their website.
   I haven't even used it yet because I have to return the Mac version and exchange it for the windows version, but the 2 stars is for AMAZON's poor description.



2. As I said in my last communication ...I am awaiting the correct version to come from the manufacturer. I was shipped the Mac version and needed the Vista version. I called the phone number on the packaging and it was the Manufacturer and I followed their instructions but have not gotten the correct version (book or disc).

   I did the same thing as you but I am a mac user and accidentally ordered the windows version. When I realized it was to late to return it. Now I'm stuck with a program I can't use. If either of you still have your mac version maybe we can exchange. Let me know. Just post another comment and we can go from there.



4. This is stated to be a Mac version in the title, in the platform requirements, and in the product description! Four times in all. I can't believe three computer literate people gave such an excellent software program a poor rating because THEY failed to read the description.
   I have used Band In A Box since it first came out and is perfect for what it does!

1. Whos mainly doing live recordings will be frustrated with this application. First it needs a lot of time yet to find out how to make a simple recording, because there are several steps to take. Maybe its a good application for DJs, I dont know because I am not into this, but as a simple recording program I would recommend Garageband - I do classic music ensemble recording with multitrack overdub and was always frustrated with the confusing interface of Ableton live. I just want to open a program and click on record, not first for each function study the manual. So I am much more happy with Garageband. If "Live" is freeware it would be acceptable, but for 300 Bucks I am awaiting something better!



2. Don't listen to the nay-sayers, Ableton's Live is a marvel of modern technology. It's innovative "elastic audio" engine can instantly and intelligently load loops and sounds in tempo. Live makes it easy to walk on stage with nothing more than a handfull of loops and compose music instantly...impovisationally. I started using Live about two years ago when a friend suggested it. At first I saw it as a DJ tool, but quickly realized the compositonal value it has. With the complete and intuitive MIDI implementation of Live4, it has edged it's way even closer to that coveted DAW abbreviation. When i make music on my computer, I use Live as the central program, it's THAT GOOD.
   
   Anyone who would dismiss Live as anything but easy, powerful and intuitive is obviously an amatuer who doesn't realize genius when it's green and white logo pops up on thier screen.



3. This has to be the easiest to use audio production program out on the market today. It is so simple to create tracks on the fly, and to edit them is a breeze. If you are wanting to use this program to play live then you can load premade tracks or even just build a track live.
   
   You can do almost anything with this program, although it does take a little bit of getting use to, like all audio programs. I would highly recommend this program to people starting out in music production (this was the first program i used), and couple this with the Ableton Live 4 Power book, you will be able to create all most anything. I highly reccommend it to anyone wanting to make music.

1. Great functionality for a basic audio editor. All the function and none of the fluff. It works well in Leopard. My only gripe was the error messages sent to the user don't explain what I'm doing wrong in the software. Once you figure the work around for the issues everything moves very seamlessly. When I worked more on PC I used Sonic Foundry for the majority of my creative audio work. Now on a Mac, Peak has been the best on that Platform.

1. It Struck me as a good product; I just had to send it back because I found out it wouldn't work on my Apple computer. The product info said NO OPERATING SYSTEM, so I thought I could use it, but the owner's manual said Windows, and nothing about Apple.
