1. This is great if you want to send a note to your Aunt Helen. Anything more substantial and it is full of quirks and bugs. Huge Waste of Money----the programmers should be lined up and shown the door or preferably worse.



2. This is terrible software. I gave it two stars because it does edit photos and I needed that feature, but, overall I am very sorry that I spent my money before looking at these reviews.

   The interface is AWFUL! For example, if you want to add a rectangle you would think you would just click on a rectangle tool and draw it. Nope! Instead you click on "Insert Shape", then you get a dialog box of possible shapes. You have to select the shape you want and the color in this dialog box. Then you click OK. Now you have a rectangle that you can reshape.

   The Wizards are OK, but the designs are very lame and unprofessional. The system creates some integrated letterhead and business cards, but you wouldn't want to use them.

   I bought this ... figuring, ...how much worse can it be than Microsoft Publisher 2000? Afterall, this isn't rocket science. The answer was MUCH worse!




3. I bought the print shop deluxe version 15 because I had been very pleased with its previous editions. Well not with this one. It installed only part of the program, I uninstalled the whole program and started installation again, but the program insists it is already installed. So here I sit with a new program that is useless. Have contacted Broderbund but have not had a reply. Have had the computer checked out and it is the program not the computer causing the problem.



4. I've owned previous versions of this product, and I enjoyed using them. I found switching CDs a little annoying though, and welcomed the idea of one disk, with most of the art stored online, without taking up space on my computer.

   The art is wonderful; my real complaint with the program is the website access. All too often, I find myself in the middle of designing something when suddenly an object cannot download. There appears a blurb from the manufacturer telling you to try again later. Sometimes "later" is just a few moments later, other times it can be quite a while. Also, I find that the thumbnails are a little slow appearing, making scrolling through the art time consuming. I would give this product a much higher rating if it wasn't for this unreliability. I like the PrintShop, but I just bought Version 20 Deluxe, to be installed when I install my larger hard drive. I haven't installed it yet; I'm reading reviews here to see if anything else sounds more promising.




5. I purchased a "used" copy for about $9 since v20 is out and is almost $90. I'm not disappointed with it since it does just what I want it to do: Labels, Newsletter, envelopes. Things that were a challenge in Microsoft products like Word, etc. I was very pleased with it, but then I didn't spend a whole lot. I'll get v20 when I can get it for $9 but then maybe the current version at that time will have been improved enough to be worth it.

1. First the problems: I began using this product under Windows XP home edition and found several bugs. The metronome and tuner would not work, and the menus had extraneous symbols. None of these were a killer, but a bit annoying. Then I switched to my old computer running Windows 98, and everything worked fine.
   For the program itself, it's great! There is video of the instructor (sometimes with a split view to show both hands), songs to play along with, an animated fretboard, audio clips with more suggestions or reminders, a guitar chord dictionary, and the aforementioned tuner and metronome. Portions of the music can be selected to repeat, to aid practice. The songs include the voice and guitar parts. A very good program for a beginner bassist.



2. I'm in my 40's and was able to pick up my father's 30 year old electric bass and learn how to play very quickly. I've been using the program about 3 months and try to play 1/2 to 1 hour every day. Besides learning the songs included in the program I have been able to play Cream songs Badge and Sunshine of Your Love by teaching myself.
   
   As for the details:
   1. There is no problem with XP. I have a desktop and a laptop and both run the program without any problems
   2. Tuner works great and is very very helpful
   3. The program records your playing whenever you want. It is easy to use
   4. When playing songs you can turn off the bass line in the song, leave the bass line in, or just play the bass line without the music
   5. Moving between lessons is painless and very easy
   
   I can't say enough about this software. It's great and I am only on lesson 43.
   
   You won't be disappointed with the software. It's a good investment and you will be very happy with the results



3. I think this is a great product for beginners, but I do feel that he moves a little too fast after awhile. I do recommend it for beginners, although I wish someone would come out with something that would interact with you a little more, "game-like".

   Why would anyone buy this? I was in Compusa today as they are closing down on Long Island & thought about buying this. I put it down & said I will researh this more at home. As I suspected, you can go to [...] & do the same thing that this software does. The software doesn't allow you to print stamps at home so what's the point? The only plus is that you get a sheet of free stamps, so it's like buying a [...] coupon, that's a one time use. I don't get it?



2. The last reviewer didn't see any point to this software. Partially that's true---you don't need it to create your photostamp, you can do the same thing online. However, there is one big plus to the software product: buying a single sheet of PhotoStamps direct from their website costs $24.99 + $2.99 shipping, at this writing. In contrast, Amazon is selling this "boxed" version ---which includes a free voucher for a single sheet of stamps---for seven bucks less than that. Do the math.

1. I bought this for my office to edit videos from a DVD recorder. So right off the bat I was happy that it has a function to import video straight from a DVD. In addition it can convert most any video to mpeg and is fairly quick. There are some handy video editing features such as color correction and de-interlace. It also has a menu creator but only uses about 5 templetes but you can choose alternate image backgrounds. Also it burns to DVD video and has the ability to burn data DVDs. It does not copy data DVDs but otherwise is a fully functioning program for any novice.
