2 comments about Instant Vb Animation (Instant).
- It is a good book and probably the only book to start learning animation in VB. Another book "Animation Magic with Visual Basic 5" is not for beginners at all.
- This book is more of a "learn by example" book; it gives you code and shows you how the project was built. Period. Nothing else. The code itself is overly complex and the author does little do explain why it is so complex. Some of the 800 line programs can be re-written to 250 lines. Its just to complex for no reason.

- Hey kids! Hey parents! Learning to program a computer can be easy and fun. BASIC BEGINNINGS is an introduction to computer programming for both child and parent. You don't have to be a computer expert to use this guide. Simple programming concepts such as what a program is and does, how to RUN and LIST a program, and how to enter data while a program is running are explained and written in a standard version of the BASIC language.
The programs in BASIC BEGINNINGS range from answering riddles and drawing shapes to writting poems and learning multiplication tables.
Complete with hints for parents, computer notes, andappendix, this is a clear and simple guide to the basics of computer programming.

2 comments about Advanced Visual Basic 4.0 Programming.
- This book is rather weak on teaching "Advanced" Visual Basic programming. Too much of the book dwells on the basics and too much space is devoted to complete program listings which would be better put on the disk that comes with the book.
Many many figures are done with character graphics and look very amateuristic and primitive and are hard to read and understand.
I do not recommend this boo
- This book is a great buy for anyone who wants to begin to get into advanced Visual Basic programming. It is difficult for one book to try and cover many advanced topics, such as database programming with SQL integration, dynamic link libraries, and linking to C++ programming, but this book doesn't do a bad job, providing lots of examples. But because of the number of topics it attempts to cover, it doesn't go into the detail that you might want. So, if you want a good foundation in advanced topics, this is an excellent buy. But if you want information on a specific advanced topic, keep looking. Overall - a good buy!
