- I don't care what category one may wish to apply to the Bosstones, this album is just great music! Every song is great, the best Bosstones album in my opinion. If you buy only one Bosstones album make it this one or maybe "Live From the Middle East".
- Let's keep this one short and sweet. More Noise and Other Disturbances is probably the most solid Ska-Core album to date. Gritty, Raw, Melodic, this album will rock your socks off.
- I feel so old writing this review - and feel SO sorry for anyone that didn't get the chance to catch these guys live back in the 90s. Simply put, best damn live show you will ever see (next to the Supersuckers). "More Noises" is by far the best the Bosstones have to offer.
..and Dicky and the boys, if you are reading this: PLEASE get back together for a small venue reunion tour. I'll drink to that!!!!
- This has become my favorite Bosstones album, bumping 'Let's Face It' to a very close second. 'I'll Drink To That' is probably my favorite Bosstones song. In fact, the first seven tracks on this album are fantastic, with the only slowdown occuring at the start of 'Guns And The Young'. It almost seems awkward to have the Bosstones delivering a serious message. Aren't these guys just about partying and ripping through their unique blend of ska-punk-rock? Nevertheless, a very excellent outing and definitely the first album I would recommend for purchase to anyone getting into the Bosstones.
- I have been listening to the Bosstones for about 13 years maybe 12. I have seen them live countless times. From large venue (Horde tour, Warp Tour) type festivals to club shows. If they ever play a club near you jump at the chance to go. Don't skip to see them on a large stage, just don't get all hyped up it will be a let down. Nothing to do with the Band they sound great, just not the same type of atmosphere as the club gigs.
The last time I saw them was I believe 2000 or 2001 at the 9:30 Club in D.C. (great venue by the way) One of the best - not quite as good as when they were younger but still one the best shows ever for that size of a club.
More Noise and Other Disturbances is a good album, but Live from the Middle East really captures the energy and feel of a live Bosstone show. I really have a hard time listening to their studio albums. On a one to five rating More Noise and Other Disturbances gets a 5, while Live from the Middle East would get an 8 on the same rating scale. Absolutley the best, off the chart.

- a friend of mine told me something the other day... and it's so so true...
"i love leftover crack...it's like...METAL SKA. but then there's choking victim...which is just SKA METAL."
then i pointed out that they weren't really metal so much as they are really hard at times. but anyway...
get this now. if you have mediocre generica - leftover crack then you're familiar with the song Born To Die...but this version isn't so...sparkly. it's really good though. so buy this.
- This is just raw, uncut, unreheresed, punk. All the songs are great. I don't see how anyone could not enjoy songs like "Choking Victim" & "Apple Pie & Police State". If you like Leftover Crack, and you are not sure whether to get this or not, just do it, you won't be dissapointed at all.

- "The Holiday Has Been Cancelled" is to the Mad Caddies as "The Decline" is NOFX. They sat down, worked hard and produced something to prove their abilities as musicians. Great album.
- An excellent CD that stays true to the Mad Caddies earlier releases, but with a little less on the ska side. Emo? I don't think so buddy. The difference is that emo sucks and this is awesome.
- I am ecstatic about this EP, its all that I have come to expect. The guitars are heavy, the horns are smooth, and all sounds are true to mad caddie style. If you liked any of their other albums, then more than likely you will like this one.
- Submitted for your approval: 5 tracks of varying lengths and difficult horn parts, with lyrics that really make you wonder how emo this band really is. I know that sounds wacky, considering that the Mad Caddies, for all intents and purposes, are a Fat Wreck punk/ska band with blistering drum beats, super fast power chords, and a goofy stage show to be reckoned with. But come in closer, and take a look at just how emo the Caddies really are:
EXHIBIT ONE: Lyrics Track one, "Falling Down" -- "the day we met upon a cold December, the day we met and I started to fall." Track two, "Nobody Wins at the Laundromat" -- "A blackened wick is all that remains when the verdict has been sent." Track three, "Something's Wrong at the Playground" -- "A cherry burning bright, but a future that's not." Track four, "Destro" -- "I wanna see you when everything's gone." Track five, "S.O.S." -- ok, so this is an ABBA cover. But ABBA was pretty emo, right? EXHIBIT TWO: Liner Notes Contained after the thanks list, there is a little note from a band member: "[W]hat you hear on this record is not so much a labor of love as it is an impromptu jam. It is a spur of the moment thing we couldn't really recreate if we tried." Does that not just completely sound like thrown-together emo supergroup Radio Flyer? Come on, you have to be starting to see it now. And finally, the final piece of evidence. EXHIBIT THREE: Pictures Inside the booklet, there are associated pictures put together, like in most CDs. Does this mean that all CDs are emo? No [although by the looks of it these days, that might change. Rap Rock can only live for so long. But I digress]. What is emo are two different series of pictures: one being the same shot from a live show repeated in a vertical row, each frame being a different color, the other being a line of photos running across the bottom of the booklet horizontally, each being a seemingly random shot of the outside and inside of a motor home. Fat has realized that emo is the next big thing, so It is only a matter of time before we see No Use For A Name in V-neck sweaters and Good Riddance in horn-rimmed glasses. Regardless, this EP still sounds great, emo or not, and it is a wonderful follow-up to "Duck and Cover."
- Every year I go to Lowlands, a rock-festival in Holland. And at Lowlands they have little shops that sell CD's and I usually buy some CD's there. For instance I bought (HED)p.e. - Broke and Lagwagon - Duh this year. And Mad Caddies - The holiday's... And I still can't remember why I bought it. I was completely sober, had never heard of Mad Caddies and no one told me to buy it. Somehow it drew me closer and I bought it and listened and I'm sold. This rocks and if you like bands like NOFX, Lagwagon, Less Than Jake and Suicide Machines you should buy this. Especially S.O.S. (Double Fisted Power Slam remix) rulez!

- this is a great album. less than jake is an amazing band. this is a must have for any less than jake fan or any fan of ska.
- This is a really cool Less Than Jake album. This was realeased just after Pezcore and has that same sound, sort of raw and rough around the edges, as opposed to the later albums like Borders and Boundaries, Anthem, and B is for B-sides, which have tighter horns and an overall smoother sound. This album has a lot of good stuff on it. It's energetic and fast like all of LTJ's work. This is a nice addition to your LTJ collection.
- I have recently become a fan of less than jake. Their first song I heard of theirs was "All My Friends Are Metalheads" playing Tony Hawk 4 and decided to go out and pick up "Hello Rockview", since that time i have aquired numerous albums of theirs. The first taste i had of Less Than Jake was the more punkish version that shows up in "Anthem" and thier newer cds.
So when i first opened this album and popped it in my cd player, it sounded like a poorly recorded mess of music. After several months of neglecting to listen to it i decided to give it another chance. Pretty soon I started listening to the music more and realized how great it actually is. The songs have very catchy sing along lyrics and are fast paced. The meaningful lyrics and messages in the songs are great and make this album that much better. I would recommend this cd to anyone, even a new less than jake fan can get into it if they just give it a chance. You may hate it at first, but before long you'll find yourself jumping around singing along to the songs.
- first of aal i want to apoligise if my english isnt good nut i'm from belgium, europe and we speak dutch.
okay now, as being a huge ltj fan , i own all the albums and this was a hard album to get in.
this cd is totally different from albums like hello rockview anthem, or any other ltj album.
like people who only like ltj since anthem or borders and boundries will msot likely hate this cd. this cd has a more rougher (?) sound. you wont find things like auto tuning on this album. and instead of anthem's pop punk with a little bit of horns, this album is alot more ska, you either hate it or love it. songs are also very short and im sure some have been written in an even shorter time, cause musically this album is a lot of the same. but nevertheless this is a good album if you like true ska-punk ( and thats no punk with horns you idiots!!).
early ltj fans will love this album ( like i do) but new fans will be disappointed and thats why i give this album only
3 stars.
- well i've had this for years (the origional on No Idea records thank you very much) and it still notches up regular spinnage. this is basically a compilation of early 7", 10" and comp tracks if you've heard their later stuff you'll know the basic sound, hi energy tuneful ska punk but here it's free of the glossy sanitized production that all the punk bands get these days. twenty songs and everyone a winner from the originals like "where the hell is mike sinkovich?" and "whipping boy" to the covers "laverne and shirley" and "dukes of hazzard" you'll be singing along and jumping all over the place. in a way i feel sad that they've got so big as their new stuff lacks the same energy and fire and after witnessing them live in front of a couple of thousand folk recently it looks like they're doing it punk by numbers. shame.

- I think one reel big fish album is enough for anybody. I get sick and tired of their negativity and foul lyrics. If any of their albums I would recommend Turn the Radio Off, because it has the least amount of poorly done songs...
- Reel Big Fish is the best band ever, and they should rule the world. That being said, this cd is not their best. I really believe that the band's inexperience shows in this album.
THE HIGHS:
+The overall sound of the album is more of a punk sound. Even though it does not deserve to be called punk, in its self, it is faster and louder than The Fish's latter work.
+The horn section is extremely prominent, and well inter-webbed the rest of the music.
+Classic RBF!
+Its Reel BIG Fish!
THE LOWS:
-A few of the songs are definite fillers.
-The songs which were re-recorded for other discs, don't sound near as good on this album.
-Some of the songs sound like crap-"Trendy" sounds waaay better on 'Turn The Radio Off', on a couple of the songs it doesn't even sound like the band has ever played together in their lives.
-The horn section is very loose.
OVERALL:
A good album from Reel Big Fish. It could have used alot of re-mastering and overdubbing. But it is really fun to listen to the early sound of then poor band which now is a great band with a little more money to spend on production. A little faster and less serious effort then the post "Sell-Out" RBF. And i mean 'less serious' in a good way.
A Must for Reel Big Fish fans.
- This is a very good CD. I really like it. But the only reason that I rated it a 4 outta 5 is because it has crappy sound quality. My least favorite of RBF for that reason.
- HEY ITS ALPHA-BETA-GAMMA
RATING ANOTHER GREAT REEL BIG FISH ALBUM FIRST OF ALL LETS REVEIW THE FACTS -IT HAS 21 SONGS(NO INTROS/NO SKITS/NO INTERLUDES) -IT IS AN ENHANCED CD -IT HAS SONGS FROM THE FIRST TWO ALBUMS PLUS NEW ONES SO IF YOU ARE LOW ON MONEY BUY THIS INSTEAD OF THE FIRST TWO ALBUMS IT FEATURES THE HIT SONGS "BEER" "SKATANIC" "I WANT YA GF TO BE MINE"
- Everything Sucks! - By Reel Big Fish.
This albumn does have so much on it it's hard to know were to begin. Well first off you should know this band are a Ska Punk band and therefore you shouldn't buy it unless you like that style of music. Sounds like a more angry and faster amercanised version of Madness! Lots of fast guitar, trombones, Saxaphone and Trumpets. The Songs: I'm Cool Join the Club Call you Hate You I'll never be Boyfriend Fo'Head Trendy Skatanic Why Do All Girls Think they're fat Say "Ten" I want your girlfriend to be my girlfriend too Jig Go away Beer Snoop Dog, Baby Big ****in' Star **** Yourself Spin The Globe I'm her man Super Hero #5 I'll describe my favourite songs :- 'Hate You' has a lyric that i'd love to tell so many people "I hate you, F**k You, leave me alone!". But seriously I mean it is quite truthful that you would want to say so many things that you just end up not bothering to get round to or having the arrogance. "I want your girlfriend to be my girlfriend too!" Now I definetly want to say that to some people. This song is funny, and at a medium pace compared to the rest of the albumn. Not a ballad by a long shot but nice enough to tap your foot to, if you don't really listen to the lyrics it's a nice tune, but be warned the lrics are hilarious! "Beer" This song is an ode to all of those guys out there that have bother with a girl and turn around and say " Oh well lets get Pissed!" I'm definetly one of those guys so I can relate very well to this song! The guitar in this song is excellent and the opening riff is one of the best on this albumn. The lyrics are truthful and straight to the point, with nice lyrics rather than the obscene screaming of a hard rock band! Unrequited Love is a hard thing to accept but this song gladly points out that to take the pain away there's always Beer! "**** Yourself" Self explanatory title. The reason this song makes me smile so much is that if my ex-girlfriend ever listens to this albumn i'd just like her to know that this song is definetly written with me and my thoughts about her in mind. The line "One day you'll come back to me and I'll say why don't you why don't you go and F**k Yourself!" is a taster of how high an opinion I have of my ex. Come to think of it this whole albumn is rather negative about girls in general, I think target audience is young guys with out a care in the world! This albumn is only available on import in the uk at the moment and therefore is quite expensive but seriously worth it as you do get 21 tracks and an enhanced cd to play the video on your computer! Contact me if your having trouble finding it and I'll gladly let you know where to pick up a copy! anyway hope you enjoy it as much as I do

- Arrived timely and in great condition. Really bought it for one song, but which is great and the album overall is very good.
- That Track Listing is wrong. Here is the track listing in the correct order:
1. Stir It Up-Bob Marley & The Wailers
2. Don't Turn Around-Aswad
3. Hot Hot Hot-Arrow
4. Now That We've Found Love-Third World
5. Bad Boys (Theme From "Cops")-Inner Circle
6. I Shot The Sheriff-Eric Clapton
7. Israelites-Desmond Dekker
8. Rivers Of Babylon-The Melodians
9. Many Rivers To Cross-Jimmy Cliff
10. Tease Me-Chaka Demus & Pliers
11. Montego Bay-Freddie Notes & The Rudies
12. Kingston Town-Lord Creator
13. My Boy Lollipop-Millie Small
14. Boom Shakalak-Apache Indian
15. Electric Avenue-Eddy Grant
16. Baby, I Love Your Way-Big Mountain
17. You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)-Dawn Penn
18. Exodus-Bob Marley and The Wailers
Although Tracks 1, 2, and 18 are correct.
- This is one of my favorite CD's. My friends like it, my wife likes it, and even my kids like it. I love the variety, the pacing, and how the songs go from one great song to another.
- This CD is a great CD for those who are not great fans of reggae. Is it a down deep Rock Steady Compilation - NO. But if you are looking for somethng to play at a party that anyone can enjoy, this CD works. You may convert a few listeners and then feed them the classics later. All of the songs are fun even if they are not all pure reggae - at least you'll have a CD that doesn't get ripped out of the player and replaced with Britney.
- First of all, half of the songs on this album are barely even what I'd consider Reggae. All this album basically is made up of is hits that border on Reggae and overcommercialized hits. If you are a true fan of Reggae, save your money.

- Let me start by saying that I used to see the Hippos play at local shows before they got picked up by Interscope. I had their first album, Forget the World, and loved it even though the production isn't top notch. For me, they have always been a credible band; not some manufactured big label band.
When I first picked up this album (2 copies) when it came out, I played the CD a couple times and tossed it aside. It sounded too much like TMBG (They Might Be Giants) and it sounded too clean/overproduced.
But over time, I find myself always coming back to this album when I want to feel good. When I want to be comforted by catchy sounds and the poppy lyrics.
I can't seem to get songs like The Sand, Pollution, or Paulina out of my head, and sometimes I'll just CRAVE those songs, in the same way that women crave certain types of foods on their periods.
Give this album a whirl. It's a pity that the band broke up.
Michel
- Lol. One of my favorite quotes by Jesse Swann (See above review): "These words mostly sound like they're from the secret diary of a 12-year old boy who is starting to 'feel funny'about girls and wants to relay all the fun little games and inner feelings he has for that certain girl of his dreams to somebody." I certainly agree with this. This band sucks. It is borderline, crappy ska that no one should purchase. However, it is borderline ska, so I have to give it two stars. One star is reserved for Green Day and rap. If you want to listen to ska, check out Ska Masta Skibz's lists. Those will help you get an idea of what good music is.
- If you like third wave ska, you'll like this album. Just a really really really really fun cd. The Hippos really know how make ska music to skank to.
- I can't say much about how this cd relates to other ska groups because I don't listen to very much ska. But I love this album. (Perhaps those two facts combined say something, I don't know.)
Yes, some of the lines are a little cliche and it is all a tad poppish. And maybe if you're a music snob this will upset you. But, if you're a normal person looking for something fun to sing along with and bounce about to, this is a good choice.
- This cd is extremely good, one of the only ska bands who has a synth and just sounds good but also different than all the other ska bands

1 comments about Exodus - 3oth Anniversary [CD + DVD].
- Exodus has proven to stand the test of time garnering such well known songs as its title track, One Love/People Get Ready, and Three Little Birds. The Wailers' Rainbow concert is also considered to be one of the top live reggae recordings on film.
That said... This package, as of the time of this review, runs over 30 dollars, for the ten Exodus tracks, and the Rainbow Concert DVD.
Depending on accessibility, I would recommend getting the 2-disc Rainbow Concert from Wal*Mart, I found it there for $10.52 USD (including tax). As for the album, if you're truly looking for this particular recording, I would suggest buying the single disc from Amazon, which is currently going for about eleven dollars, which when bought with either the Wal*Mart 2-disc, or even the Amazon 1-disc version of LIVE! at the Rainbow, the total is still less than this package.
If thirty dollars isn't enough to scare you away, I might suggest buying the previously released 2-Disc Deluxe Edition of Exodus, with the entire album and bonus tracks on the first disc, and an entire disc of bonus/extended takes on the second disc, which is currently going for $19.97, and then when buying the Rainbow Concert (from either vendor), your total is the same as this package, only you're left with many more tracks, more discs, and overall more Wailers.

3 comments about Be True to Yourself: Anthology 1965-1973.
- THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CDS I HAVE. I HAD ONLY HEARD ONE SONG FROM ALTON ELLIS, "YOU MADE ME SO VERY HAPPY" AND I THOUGHT THAT HE MIGHT HAVE MORE BETTER SONGS. AND HE DOES!! THIS IS ALL I HAVE BEEN LISTENING AT WORK FOR THE PAST WEEK. ITS GOOD THAT IT HAS MORE THAN 50 SONGS!!!
- As the first reviewer stated this vocalist was most likely better in his younger years. This cd, in my opinion can be quite a trial to get through having so many , sound nearly alike songs on one c.d. Which is why most people prefer compilations by a number of artists. It only took the producers 30 years to figure that one out.
- Alton Ellis is still performing, but his peak as a recording artist was in the 1960s and 70s - the period this extensive comp covers. Many of his classics, such as Cry Tough, Rock Steady, (Girl) I've Got a Date and Breaking up are here on the first disc.
But I like the second latter period disc even more. There are some great rare tracks like Alton's Official Daughter where Alton sings 'my little daughter, need a lots of water', and Harder and Harder. The second disc also features more rasta-themed tracks which Alton handles just as well as his rock steady classics, and soul/funk covers such as It's My Thing. So, one of the best Alton comps out there.

5 comments about Floored.
- As the owner of Floored, 14:59 and their self-titled cd, i can easily say this one is the best of those 3 (yes i am aware there are other albums by Sugar Ray). Less pop-ish, but not necessarily "hard" rock, this cd is very intense and enjoyable if one doesn't mind curses here and there.
- After listening to the previews of some of the songs on this website I have deemed this album "bad" or "not fly". I suggest you spend your money on arcade games or fountain soda at the mall. Or if you do buy it, spend your remaining change on some glue so you can at least listen to it higher than a kite.
- First of all for the people who said this one is lame...
Just shut up and go listen to In the Pursuit of Leisure losers.
With that said this is Floored, which came out in 1997 two years removed from Lemonade and Brownies. They don't even sound the same because L&B was hard as hell to comprehend while Floored was easier to access. Also who could forget "Fly" which made the album look awkwardly 1-sided with a light song and 10 harder. Now onto the review shall we?
1. RPM: Intro is awesome and so are DJ Homicide's race car samples with the sounds to match on guitar. 5/5
2. Breathe: The song barely gives you time to breathe because it's exceptional and stiff. 5/5
3. Anyone: More upbeat on the chorus then the other two were but still very good. 4.5/5
4. Fly: The big hit song...what else to say? 4/5
5. Speed Home California: Intesnity of thrash and punk styling make this one a winenr! 5/5
6. High Anxiety: Starts off slowly but builds momentum. 4/5
7. Tap, Twist, Snap: Okay song...not as strong as the others. 3/5
8. American Pig: Guilty pleasure song of mine! Great chorus and the openining and intermitten guitars are awesome. 6/5
9. Stand and Deliver: This is like Southern meets Ska in a sense but it makes due for a good song. 4/5
10. Cash: If you can stand the F-bomb a lot then this is a good speed song with funny effects from Homicide. 4.5/5
11. Invisible: Slow down and power hitting metal song. 4.5/5
12. Right Direction: short but good for the time it had. 3.5/5
13. Fly W/out Cat: See #4. 4/5
Overall rating: 4.8/5
-This was major improvement from L&B and singaled the height of intensity for Sugar Ray. Unfortunately, the intensity died down some for 14:59 and all together on the self titled and ITPOL. But take this for what it's worth and that's a bay side trash outing which will never be forgotten by hardcore fans and old school Sugar Ray fans alike.
- If you don't have this, and you like Sugar Ray, get this. There are some other songs by this band I'd like to get an album of, but I cannot find them. What's that all about? Ah, well. Who gives a crap, huh? There are 2 kinds of "FLY" on this album. One is just the song, and the other, is with this guy in the song who starts it off and continues as the song goes on. I like that version, but then again, that might just be me. Peace.
- i got this CD for like 3 dollars in a thrift stoor when i was like 13, because i was nostalgic of Fly, and come on it was only 3 dollars. This CD is so great, and Sugar Ray could've made their 3 CDs after this one so rocking and so bad ass if they hadn't have sold out so hard. Damn that fly! I hoped and prayed their new stuff would go back to rocking hard and being awesome so i got the self titled.....bad move, so when in the pursuit of leisure came out i didnt even give it a chance. I mean the CD wasn't even going well with Pop fans so i knew it had to be a big crap fest. But who knows maybe after a bombing pop album they'll go back to their old sound? Anyway, RPM is the intro track and really makes me think of that show Titus, with all the car noises and all. American Pig is the best song on the whole. It is a great track and Sugar Ray's best song ever. Download it to give you a taste of what you'll get from this CD.
