- I saw these guys last summer at the Beach Break on the Cape. They played for hours and had everybody dancing and having a great time. The next day, I bought their cds. This cd is constantly in the cd changer. If you like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars, etc you will love this disc. Incredible horns and energy permeate their songs and make you want to groove. All of my friends have asked for the name of the cd after listening to it once or twice. Great summer driving music, too!

- East Bay SKA for NorCal. East Bay Hooligans know that this is the shiznit for SKA in California. They need to re-form and make another album.
- Definately some great SKA that always puts people people into a good mood. Lot of fun lyrics and plenty dealing with love and relationships. I may get tired with some of my music, but I keep returning back to this great album. It may not be the most ground breaking but definately done right with great sound quality.

- This album is simply amazing. Their cover of Nena's 99 Red Balloons is great and Counting The Days is one of my favorite songs. If you are going to buy a Goldfinger album, or any album, buy THIS one!
- Awesome Album. 99 Red Baloons cover is one of the best covers ever. Good purchase. Do not buy it off Amazon because you can get cheaper somewhere else. Also buy disconnection notice, goldfinger, and open your eyes (all good purchases).
- Goldfinger's third CD does not lose any of the intensity they had on their first CD. The songs are fast, fun, and very singable. If you havent' yet, go see these guys in concert, they never dissapoint.
- When most of you think of Goldfinger I would expect that the majority of you will instantly think "James Bond", this I can't blame you for as that's what I thought when I first heard of Goldfinger. In fact Goldfinger are a four piece ska-punk band from Los Angeles and I am going to write about their fourth studio album, called "Stomping Ground". Their major achievements apart from scoring a hit in America in 1996, was following this up with 382 live shows in that year! Wow!
** Live ** Talking of live shows, this is the best way to see Goldfinger and is actually how I came across them. They were on tour in the UK a couple of month's back, with 28 Days supporting (who I had gone to see). When Goldfinger came on they were playing the James Bond theme this got the gig off to a brilliant start. Getting into the show they were a very lively band with them jumping and running around the stage (helped by them having radio transmitters on their guitars and not cables!). Their antics included jumping into the crowd while still playing, throwing guitars about and smashing them. To top it off they got around ten people on stage to sing one of their songs with them. Among their onstage antics they also did some really good cover versions of chart songs. When they did this the lead singer and the drummer swapped round and swapped roles. ** Stomping Ground ** The album has the following songs on the CD: 1 I'm Down (2.08) 2 Pick A Fight (3.25) 3 Carry On (3.20) 4 The End Of The Day (3.03) 5 Don't Say Goodbye (2.31) 6 Counting The Days (3.28) 7 Bro (2.55) 8 San Simeon (3.23) 9 You Think It's A Joke (3.12) 10 Forgiveness (3.24) 11 Margret Ann (2.34) 12 Get Away (3.51) 13 99 Red Balloons (3.49) 14 Donut Dan (0.40) ** My Thoughts ** Goldfinger are a very under-rated band who deserves to have had more success than they have had in the UK. To get the best experience go and see them live they are superb, but a CD is the next best thing. This CD has kept me entertained for ages now and I still haven't tired of the songs. The main problem is that if you want to buy their music in this country it is very expensive as is get an "Imported" label slapped on it.
- First of all, this CD is FANTASTIC. There were a few songs that really didn't make the cut in my eyes, but they can only have so much magic (and after Hang-ups, they had a lot to live up to). You will NOT be disappointed.

- This CD is awesome. It takes many of the greatest early Less Than Jake songs and puts them all together on one great CD. This is a great album to add to the collection of any serious LTJ fan.
- It's pretty simply stated that LTJ has worked hard to accomplish this collection of ska music. However, some of the songs are too crazy to handle, in my opinion. I've been a great fan of LTJ for a long time, but "Pez Collection" has been losing its firm grip.
- LTJ's "Pez Collection" used to be my favorite CD. It had all of LTJ's greatest hits, like "Son of Dick" and "One Last Cigarette". However, as time went by, this CD faded from me. I used to listen to it all the time, but now, it's collecting dust in it's slot in my CD holder.
- The Pez Collection is a collection of Less Than Jake songs from there previous albums put together on one CD. It has all the best songs on this album and no Less Than Jake fan should be without it. It's only eighteen dollars for twenty-four of their greatest songs. A definite buy.
- Being that LTJ is my favorite band of all time, I couldn't go wrong with this CD. It has all the greats such as Johnny Quest Thinks Were Sellout, Rock n Roll Pizzera, Whipping Boy, and Automatic. The whole CD rocks and there are 24 songs so it keeps you entertained for a long time. To make it short.....BUY THIS CD IF YOUR AN LTJ FAN OR JUST A PUNK/SKA FAN.

- The music is great, no doubt about it. What jumped out at me was the sound quality. The remastering is fantastic.
- Since coming under the wing of the Sanctuary group, Trojan have gone from strength to strength, and this compilation is one of the strongest they have put out. Dub reggae was a particularly innovative and influential genre which created huge reputations for some of the best producers, engineers and musicians who created it. Laurence Cane-Honeysett has compiled the anthology in chronological order and the set rightly opens with Andy Capp's historic Pop-A-Top. From the notes I discovered that the inspiration behind this surreal injunction, for which the entire lyric is "Pop-a-top", came from a then-current Jamaican radio jingle for Canada Dry. Perhaps I wish I hadn't.
The great Lee Perry is represented by half a dozen tracks including the title track by Lee Graham and the Upsetters, and the Upsetters' own Dubbing In The Back Seat, a reworking of William DeVaughn's soul hit, Be Thankful For What You've Got.
Other producers and engineers here include Joe Gibbs, Bunny Lee, King Tubby, Niney the Observer, Duke Reid and Prince Jammy, who is at the controls for Jammin' For Survival, a version of Kingston 12 Toughie from 1979, which at 7 minutes is the longest on the album. John Holt's Ali Baba inspired two separate heavy dub versions that appear side by side on Disc One, and several Johnny Clarke hits are versioned by the Aggrovators.
Where tracks have appeared before on other Trojan collections the versions here are generally better quality and sometimes in stereo for the first time. In an overcrowded field this is one of those compilations that will become remembered as a classic in future years

- Chris Murray is not too bad really, it took me a long time to get into this but it's definatley some good reggae however i gave this 3 stars as i have heard much better reggae aswell such as king django, kwame D and of course Bob Marley but if you would consider yourself to be a huge reaggae fan then you should purchase this if you can, while the music is a little bit low on sound quality it maintains it's involvment in the music and gradually grows on you, who knows maybe in a couple of months i might enjoy it more as it has that effect on you. I first heard this in a small market type shop in my city, Hull in the UK, and loved the raw sound that it had to it you know like your actually on a beach and this is been played live behind you so it's worth having.
- An exellent cd, taht does truely capture what chris murray is all abuot. The recordings are all done on a caset recorder, so the quiality is pretty bad, but I do feel that this adds to the songs, and the feel. And after a few listenings youll be hooked, even if the quiality is low. Most of the osngs on this album are done with Just Chris and his acoustic, but now and again he'll havebacking vocals, and there is one live song. Overall, highly recomended if you like the idea of an album, that most clearly I can describe as ablend of folk and Jamaican roots music.
- Hey! This newest CD from Chris Murray is awesome! Nice ska sounds, incredible lyrics, special guest appearences (specifically Neville Staple from legendary '80s ska band "The Specials" and 2 members from Hepcats). This CD was recorded entirely on a walkman, which gives it a real raw sound (incredibly, the best sounding song is one of Chris' classis; Rocksteady, it was recorded live). It gives a feeling of privacy, as if Chris Murray was there singing only for you.
My only disapointement was that it was only Chris and a guitar, compared to his other CDs where ther was the occasional piano, bass and drum. All in all, this CD is definately worth your money!
