  1. This CD is kickass. Period.

My personal favorites are "Clear," "Radio," and "Time."

  2. i bought the album before i went to work one day.and when i got to work i put it in.just to piss my boss off becuase he hates ska. but as i was working and listening i liked what i heard but wasnt really paying attention. but when i got home and really listened i liked it alot. its a good quality record good music. if you like slapstick, less than jake or mustard plug you'll like these guys

  3. I got into Potshot through the Mailorder is Fun compilations from Asian Man Records, and ordered this album along with Potshot's Rock n' Roll. This is truly an awesome ska/punk album.
Every song is happy and uplifting, and the horns add so much. Give it a listen.

  4. There are hundreds of skapunk bands out there. Many of them sound very similiar, and Potshot doesn't do anything that stretches skapunk much further. But for what they are, they're excellant. SkaPunk at it's best. This CD should be in anyone's collection of skapunk. Their second CD is good too, but not as good. They are sort of like Kemuri with heavier japanese accents, which i like. Sure, some of the songs are corny, but most skapunk is. My favorite song is radio. Check this out.

  5. Potshot, in my opinion, has to grow on you. If you can handle the lead vocalist's voice (at some points it sort of gets annoying, along with the backup vocalists' "yeah, yeah, yeah" in almost every song) it's a decent album. There's a nice combination of Ska and Punk in most of the songs. Check out Kemuri if you want a flawless combination, though.

  1. this is a really good split. not a big fan of new falling sickness, but they're good in this. it's all hardcore. dysentery is plain awesome. i think that they're one of the best hardcore bands ever.

  2. if you here this before falling sickness's other stuff you'll notice a big difference. This cd is somewhat hardcore and their other stuff is not as hard with ska chords. but they still have the same spead and tempo. it's good cd if you like hardcore punk. i don't know anything about dysentery.

  3. i love this cd. especially the falling sickness song in spanish. the only drawback is that there is not enough songs! great cd for the money.

  1. more than good

  2. This is an illegal bootleg release. Buy 'The Complete Bob Marley & the Wailers 1967-1972', parts 2 and 3 (from JAD Records) or Bob Marley & The Wailers albums from Trojan Records instead, if you want to have the songs on this album. JAD's and Trojan's releases are legal, and the sound quality is often much better on their albums. Also, if you buy the box sets from JAD, part of the money will go to the Bob Marley and Peter Tosh families and Bunny Wailer (the three original Wailers).

  3. I have read some of the other review and this is a GREAT collection especially considering the price! I have a pretty decent collection of Bob Marley and have been a big fan from the mid-70s. Many of these songs are available on other Wailer disks but these two CDs contain some of the best versions of these songs that are available. I don't have much information on the history of these recordings and wish I did. They appear to be made before the height of the Wailer's commercial success. The cuts are pure, raw, and without any studio over-polished sound. I listen to these disks over and over again. These are some of the best old cuts of Marley that I have. I like this collection better then the Trojan Trenchtown Rock Anthology. I challenge you to listen to Natural Mystic and Trenchtown Rock on this version and then put in the versions on Tuff Gong / Island's Natural Mystic The Legend and I think you will agree that these Retro cut are awesome. I highly recommend this for anyone who is interested in Bob Marley and especially fans that want to get an appreciation for some of the earlier stuff. At the price of this set you can not go wrong! Oh, I think the sound quality is pretty good!!! You will not be disappointed with these disks. I have the 2001 Recording Arts, Dejavu Retro Gold Collection edition.

  4. bob marley god. his origonal recordings are better than the remastered [recordings]. way better. thats what this is. its origonal bob marley, the way he sounded, the true jamacan reggae. if you think this is poorly recorded... thats cause it is. jamaca isnt a rich place with nice recording studios.... and this is essential for anyone who calls themselves bob marley fans. bob marley is god. buy this. its great. peace man

  5. if you are trying to get all of bobs material, this is a good start for 40 great tunes. this and songs of freedom are a must. you need this though b/c not all of these songs are on songs of freedom, so therefor you need them. the quality is as good as any bob song from this era. people need to realize not all bob songs sound like legend or kaya or rastaman vibration. this is how many of the songs sound like. great great great every song, not a bad one in the set.

  1. You are all fools if you don't pick this up. Growing up in grand rapids, mi I bought this originally on cassette from vinyl solution where dave worked. I think he might have even sold this to me. I was like 15 at the time. I used to see these guys play there hearts out at club 911 and even saw them open for a pre " dookie " green day at club eastbrook. This is piece of grand rapids, and my youth of growing up there. Every time I listen to this i gets the memories o flowing back, when times where simple and fun. I will always be a fan of this band. If you don't have Big daddy multitude, don't be a sucka, grab it, these are their best two albums. This albums reps when the music was raw and great. And made you wanna jump to the beat of the super ska masters.

  1. I saw these guys last summer at the Beach Break on the Cape. They played for hours and had everybody dancing and having a great time. The next day, I bought their cds. This cd is constantly in the cd changer. If you like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars, etc you will love this disc. Incredible horns and energy permeate their songs and make you want to groove. All of my friends have asked for the name of the cd after listening to it once or twice. Great summer driving music, too!

  1. it is a shame that this band only lasted two albums. in my personal opinion, if they had been around for ten more years and released a few more albums they could have been as important to the dc punk scene as minor threat. what a tragedy.

  2. With only a few days of notice producer Marty Munsch (Known for U.S. Chaos, The Narcotics, L.E.S. Stitches, Violent Society, One Way System, Less Than Jake) packed his things and descended in to Alexandria and the bands hold out; a small upper middle class suburb of Washington D.C. to produce what would be one of the most prolific and seminal punk albums of the late 20th Century outside the notable Discord Record label. He entered The "Inner-Ear" studios that were host to MINOR THREAT, THE SNAKES, SCREAM, DAG NASTY, and a few STEVE ALBINI efforts.
Marty Munsch laced into the owner Don Z and demanded that the doors to the facility will be stitch-welded shut to Steve Albini or NIRVANA influences and until the band collapsed from sleep deprivation. He also refused to have any acquaintances with the previous audition / demo style sounds of "Voice of America".
Working only with an old low-grade FOSTEX 16 Track recorder, He boosted the tape speed off the "fixed" position to "vary" and hammered out and created the legends that would be known for eternity as: "THE SUSPECTS".

  3. The pride of the D.C. punk scene, New Dawn is the Suspects second album. With smashing vocalist Brian Gayton, and producer/drummer Kent Stax leading the way for a rejuvinated and aggressive style in the Old School punk scene, the Suspects can't fail. Their honesty comes shining through on "From the heart", and they bring back a Ramones-esque sound to punk in the title track "New Dawn In The 21st Century." With classic moshing ballads as Eads Street Punks and Pistol Whipped, the Suspects are bound to be either really big in the punk scene or they are bound to suffer the same fate as The Misfits -becoming one of the most underappriciated bands in the punk scene. This album is not for the weak of heart or crackheads who listen to the new school crap alternative that they like to label punk. This is thinking mans music, its fast and its aggressive, something the scene has lacked lately. If you are in need of something to get you riled up, look no further.
