  1. I like all the songs on this CD, except for one. "I Wan't to Hold Your Ear" is the exception. It's sung by Bert in the style of a Cole Porter love ballad, but the words are creepy. It makes Bert seem like a serial killer, as he describes taking apart his loved one and holding various body parts. What were they thinking when they let this song get on the CD? When I hear my son singing it in the back seat, it creeps me out.

  2. I bought this CD basically just to have "Letter B", one of my favorites from childhood. Unfortunately, the version on the CD is not the version from the show with the muppet Beetles singing the song. I don't know where the CD version comes from, but it is horrible - barely even follows the Let It Be melody. Likewise other songs on the album, which seem to be take-offs only in title. Very disappointed.

  3. This a fun CD, even for adults. I love kids music that isn't TOO much like kid's music such as other obnoxouis purple characters. This CD is funny and great bc the songs are based off popular songs of the 60s, 70, 80s and even 90s. (Rebel L? That's hilarious!!) My son is only 10 mos old and loves it. This is our "in the car" CD!

  4. This one took some getting used to. Most of the songs are takeoff of an original famous song or genre. None follows the original music exactly and at first I found this quite disconcerting. The words were funny, but I kept expecting the original tune. I still feel this way about some. "Hey Food" doesn't work because "Hey Jude" is one of the great songs of all time and it's annoying to hear an inferior takeoff. "Let It Be" is less great but still better than "Letter 'B'". But some of the takeoffs are masterpieces in their own rights. Forgive me, but I almost like "Rebel 'L'" better than the original, which I adore. And the genre parodies (Spector-ish girl groups, a generic Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley song etc ) are easier to enjoy. I'm glad I persisted.

  5. My son loves everything Sesame Street. This CD is no exception. It's cute with a fun beat for kids.

  1. The platinum CD is a much better purchase. There are only a few good songs on this CD, and not some of the better ones that are alaphet related on Sesame Steet.

  2. I grew up with these songs and am delighted to now be able to share them now with my two year old little boy! The CD covers the entire alphabet with easy to remember and upbeat songs about each letter. We have also given this CD as a birthday present for his two little girl cousins and it was loved by them as well. If your child loves Sesame Street this CD is a must! It's one of my son's CD's that I don't mind listening to over and over. I would highly recommend it!

  3. Almost all Sesame Street products are of outstanding quality. This one is no different. The only thing that I was disappointed in was that I was looking for old school Sesame Street. Now that may sound funny but my kids grew up with Big Bird singing ABC-DEF-GHI. And now I am a grandmother and how I wanted my granddaughter to grow up listening to the same thing. But with the Elmo hype, this CD has Elmo singing that song. I do wish they had it the other way but other than that, this is an absolutely WONDERFUL way to learn and laugh through the alphabet with your child or grandchild.

  4. My children love this CD. They are 3-1/2 and 1-1/2 years old. I bought this CD because I loved the album when I was a child. We listen to this CD every day and the boys have taken to day care where the other children beg to have it played. The only down fall to this CD is that the songs stick in my head which can get annoying at times. Well worth that minor problem to see the joy on my children's faces when they are dancing and having fun to the music.

  5. Fun alphabet-related songs to have playing in the background during playtime. My 16 month old daughter enjoys the music while she's playing.

  1. My son loves to sing along with this in the car. We alternate between this and Bear in the Big Blue House. I will definitely buy more Sesame Street CDs.

  2. My three year old is crazy about Elmo. So many children's songs are annoying, Elmo is a godsend. I can listen to it over and over as we drive to & from school without pulling my hair out. Go Elmo!

  3. My 21 month old daughter LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this CD! We play it in the car. When we are inside, she keeps saying "DD" and pointing to the car. I even love this music. When I dropped her off at her playgroup this morning, we had the CD playing, then after I was alone in the car, I kept it on for me to listen to!

  4. I enjoy listening to ELMO!!!!

  1. My children are ages 9 and 2 and they both enjoy singing along with the music. I never hear he touched me or any arguing because they are too busy singing and having fun. You can't go wrong with Sesame Street.

  2. My son loves all of the sesame street songs. When we're stuck in traffic or on a long car ride, this is a great CD to listen to.

  3. I would reccomend this CD just for the Little Piggy song itself. My kids go crazy when they hear it. All the others are good standards too. We own the DVD of the same title so they can make the connection btw the two. All songs have the SS characters in it, so it sounds authentic to the show.

  4. i would review it if i got it. come on guys. i placed the order on 1/6/06.

  5. The CD contains a little bit of everything, but all songs familiar to my daughter.
