- Great, important, fun collection! I have to ask--why does the photo show vinyl, but no vinyl was shipped to me? Only CDs. Years ago, my girlfriend at the time got this collection, and there may have been an all-vinyl release (can't remember for sure). Regardless, she had some vinyl and I remember some songs that are missing from the 5 CD set I received. (For example, "Super Wolf Can Do It" was reprised as a quasi karaoke version called "Anybody Can Do It," letting you rap your own lyrics over it. Did I get short changed?
- you know what i hate? i hate that these young folk today do not have any respect for da TRUE SCHOOL. i remember watching that MAKING THE BAND when DA BAND was on there (what a friggin' joke!!!!!) and diddy told them to do RAPPER'S DELIGHT and none of them knew it. i thought that all of them should've been sent home right there.
young or old, get this!!!! no, it does not tell the whole story, but it will up you on where a lot of these "new artists" are getting their ideas from. any young cats that are reading this, respect da TRUE SCHOOL!!!! i thank you.
- So many people have forgot about where Hip-Hop started and some of the greatest MC's such as Melly Mel. This album is most important piece of my Hip-Hop collection.
- I like to dance on HipHopmusic, so that's why I like these CD'S so much. It's real old stuff of the '80 and the beginning of the '90.
- This album goes way back to the beginning of rapmusic. Back to the days of broken glas everywhere and casanovo fly. You can't have better than this. The godfathers of rap are in the house.

5 comments about The Ultimate Grammy Box.
- One of the better compilations of music and well worth the price. It has something for everyone from hits of the 40's right through today. I enjoyed the random mix of country, pop, rock, big-band, etc. and the varied song selection on each disk - you never know what's coming next. Great - simply great!
- I got this for Christmas and was really impressed. I mean getting all these huge names together on one compilation is a feat in itself. But I think they overlooked a few things.
Ok, how do you get off not putting Barbra Streisand on a GRAMMY CD ? She has won (if my memory serves me right) more then 9 GRAMMIES and has been nominated for tons more. And Toni Braxton. "Another Sad Love Song" Won best song and she got best new artist. they also didn't include U2 or Phil Collins. I'm sure thy've won something. I cannot believe (but i am thankful) they didn't put any of Britney Spears'GRAMMY winners on there. And I think they could have waited for a couple of years and put of killer tracks like "Fallin" by ALicia Keys and "Don't Know why" by Norah Jones. But I kinda think that the focus of this CD was on the "GRAMMY Hall of famers." Ella Fitzgerald. Louis Armstrong. Duke Ellington. Peggy Lee. Among others, serve up a nice classy feel amidst the modern pop and rock beats. All and ALL, if they had put "All the best" on here we would have had a ten CD pack people !! and who knows how much that would have cost. this one is already a little steep. But I think its worth every penny. I really think this is great. Its defines the term something for everybody and may help bridge gaps between Teens and parents. It definataly expanded my musical horizon. Now all I need to do is write GRAMMY and request "GRAMMY:MUSIC FROM THE NEW MILLENIUM." They might need to wait a few years before they have all the material necesarry for a stellar project like that !!
- I just bought this boxed set yesterday, and i'm listening to it now as I write this review. It's great and has a very diverse and eclectic song list. It pretty much has "something for everyone". It also only costs around fifty dollars or so, which is a very good deal for a four cd set. Definitely recommended.
- This Box Set is full of some of the greatest recordings of all time. Be prepared for everything from Louis Armstrong to Mariah Carey to Vladmir Horowitz to Bruce Springsteen, and on and on. It is superb. I find it hard to believe that one would ever tire of it.
- The Grammy Box is filled with great songs from the past to the present. I highly recommend it.

5 comments about In the House.
- I hate when DJ's play a weak song and you're standing on the dance floor trying to signal him to move on to the next track or do something dramatic. This happened one two many times on this CD. I actually considered returning it before I opened it because Dope Gonzales has a hip-hop flavor rather than an actual house flavor and I thought it was sent in error. I held it for 2 wks until I consulted a NY DJ about it. Whatever he and LLV do as MAW is magic, but there is something less desired here. But I will say that he did start jamming towards the last five jams of the first CD. But at a club, I would be demanding my $$$ back. Anyone wanna buy a copy of this? I have one for sale
- To anyone who is thinking about picking up something from Defected's 'In the House' mix series. This would be a good place to start. Kenny Dope really showcases his talent on these discs. The track selection is composed of mostly newer stuff. Which makes his approach a little different than some of the other dj's on this series. But make no mistake, this is good stuff. High energy mixing and excellent track selection. A real standout.
- I have all of the Defected's In The House CDs but this by far, has gotta be the best one yet. There are so many favorites on these 3 CDs... It's definitely a classic.
- I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer. Defected has been on fire with its "In The House" series. Defected Records truly represent what House Music is all about. And, what better way to select the top dj's of the world, than to have one of the TRUE house master mixing a 3 cd compilation. Excellent!
- Ok. To disclose some bias first, I am somewhat of the opinion that if it is touched by the hands of Kenny Dope Gonzalez or Little Louie Vega (i.e., Masters at Work), or any combination thereof, that it is gold. Yes, MAW have the absolute midas touch. That being said, consider this review:
Those of you who have gotten this far, you probably either know what to expect or you are just cross-referencing anything on the Defected label. In either case, you've come to the right place. Not only is Defected CONSISTENTLY putting out some of the absolute finest house music on the scene by way of releases from Junior Jack, Kid Creme, Miguel Migs, Sandy Rivera (of Kings of Tomorrow fame), etc., but Kenny Dope Gonzalez represents the cream of the crop of the scene. When you combine the two forces, you are sure to have a gem. In this case, you definitely do. This is three cd's filled with some of the best music out there, mixed by the master himself. It is non-stop from start to finish and truly, and I can't say this of a ton of releases, there is not one dud on here. I cannot stress this enough: Get this, get this, get this. You will love it, it's a bargain given the amount of music you are getting, and it will give you pleasure for years to come. Also, look for more by the Masters at Work team if you are knew to this gentleman, as well as snatching up more of the Defected releases, particularly Miguel Migs and Sandy Rivera editions (two separate editions).

5 comments about Volume 1-2-3-4.
- This is the 1st comment that I have EVER placed on a merchant's site!!
I believe the CD is probably a good product; however, I never had a chance to find out for myself. My comment does not concern the quality of the CD; but rather I feel compelled to comment the poor quality of Amazon.com's service. This is the 3rd time in a few months that I have ordered something from Amazon (in this case the Party Time cd) that was critical to be delivered, yet it was not delivered or available for whatever reason. In the future, I will make every effort to direct my business towards other online merchants who deliver the merchandise they promise.
- I had ordered this box set and to my surprise, volume 5 was included for free!! I was thrilled with just about all of the music, and what a bargain! All original artists! My co-workers now want to buy these CDs for themselves. The best part was the shipping was free! I wish I could give this set 6 stars!
- A 5 CD set that will become one of your favorites...
All by the original artists, the hits cover the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's... I never leave home without it! It was probably the bet $30 I ever spent! BUY IT. You won't regret it.
- This 5 cd set has such a wonderful array of hits, you'll definitely get your money's worth!
All by the original artists, the songs bring back the best of the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's for your listening pleasure! I never leave home without it! It was the best 30 bucks I've ever spent! BUY IT. You'll be glad you did.
- I'm getting ready for a big party and I bought a bunch of dance mixes on Amazon. Hands down this one takes the cake. I'd say the ratio of songs I like is 4 out of 5, which is amazing for a compilation. I've never seen a complilation this large that is this good. Sadly, several of the other compilations I bought at the same time were dogs. I wish they could all be this good.

5 comments about Bob Dylan - Greatest Hits.
- I really like this album. I love "Tambourine Man", love the subtle electric guitar. I adore "It Ain't Me Babe," it ain't no stinkin' love song. And neither is "Positively 4th Street." These are bitter and biting songs that grip like glue. "If you were standing in my shoes, you'd know what a drag it is to see you." What a line. Nobody writes them like Bob Dylan. "Rolling Stone", "Rainy Day Woman," and "I Want You," three jumpin' rockers. And then there is "Just Like a Woman," Lord I love that song that shows what a mesmerizing voice Dylan can have when he wants to. And, of course, I can't forget that song that is almost impossible to sing along with, " Subterranean Homesick Blues." Try memorizing the lyrics to that one, try singing them without the record playing. Was Dylan ahead of his time? You betcha.
- I love the cover on this record. It looks like an Out take from the "Blonde on Blonde" session. I have both the CD and the record and boy that record was hard for me to find. Finally it came up on eBay and I got in the same week I got the poster that came with the American version of this record.
"She Belongs to Me" one of the songs on this record (which has 12 songs instead of the 10 on the American version) is one of the best love songs ever written and Dylan's voice on this is nothing short of perfect, as it is on "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue." "Blowing in the Wind" is the lead off song here and it is nothing short of chilling. The electric songs are sublime and really are just about the best Dylan had done up until this record came out. This is a great collection.
- For some reason, the UK and the European versions of this record didn't have "Positively 4th Street" on them, instead opting out for "She Belongs to Me", "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue," two of my all time favorite Dylan songs and a very nice song, "One of Us Must Know" from "Blonde on Blonde. Though I miss "4th Street" when I play this CD, I just love those other songs.
I can only imagine the impact this record must have made back when it came out. Just imagine "Rainy Day Woman" and "Like a Rolling Stone" on the same record. What must the establishment thought back then. There there is "Mr. Tambourine Man." How could they ever understand that. Add "Blowing in the Wind" and "Times" two songs they probably understood only too well, understood and didn't like. Yes, America was changing, the times were blowin' away in the wind. The future was coming fast. This record must have really shook 'em up.
- This record came out after a long lapse, probably because of Dylan's motorcycle accident. At least that's what I've read. Unlike a lot of hits records and like it's American cousin, this is a great stand alone record in it's own right and it flows as if all of the songs were meant for this record and this record alone. However, the tracks are in a different order than on the American version. On this record the tracks appear to be ordered by the times they were originally recorded, so the record starts with "Blowin' in the Wind", rather than with "Rainy Day Woman." In addition, "Positively 4th Street" is not on the record, but it's been replaced by not one, but three extra songs and they're all good ones. This is just a wonderful record and one any Dylan collector will want to own.
- My dad says the problem with this record when it came out, back in the day, was that it didn't have "Positively 4th Street" on it. The collectors, though, all had to have it because of the different cover. The above editorial says this version has three songs not included on the American version, "She Belongs to Me" and "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" from "Bringing it All Back Home," and "Sooner or Later" from "Blonde on Blonde." So what? "4th St." is still not on it and since any serious Dylan fan already owns "Bringing it All Back Home," and "Blonde on Blonde," there is no reason to buy this CD. Still the material is outstanding, so I'm giving it three stars anyway.
