1. No matter where I read reviews of this series, everyone failed to mention if the original recordings were included-it sounds as if this DJ Spinna guy remixes all these songs-it says "mixed by DJ Spinna" on every disc! Couldn't be anymore confusing.
   
   I have no opinion on the continuous remix disc, but the two UN-beatmixed discs are the complete original recordings. You are going to find some real rare treats here, like the original cut of Dee Dee Sharp's "Easy Money." Even Eddie Kendrick's "Girl You Need a Change of Mind" is the full length version, not the "part 1" used on his greatest hits CD. A real gem for collectors, I'd get this while you can. 2. the mixed cd was off the hindges (mr. spinna proves he's got the goods in his crates and on the wheels).. the unmixed cd's hold those same tracks in their entirety and are excellent for you to mix at your next party (if you dare).



3. Great Album!! Can't say enough good things about it. If your into smooth funkalicious grooves from the 70s this is it! This album was in my CD player for the whole summer! Great album to have ... while cruising around in your vintage M3 bimmer!



4. It has a nice collection of 70's funk, rare groove etc etc

   Get it if you are into that kinda music. I liked it, but I spent $$$$ =( a tad expensive....

1. I just got this because where I live they don't sell it
   It's a nice item to add to my Eminem collection
   
   I must say the only bad part would have to be:
   Since it was out in 2003, 2004+2005 tracks were cut off
   But hey, It's easier buying those than his WHOLE career
   
   Must-buy-everything fan or not, You should check it out
   5/5+ stars would be my rating, I enjoyed it alot myself
   
   Don't forget the bonuses, Not just singles:
   A fold out (smaller) two sided poster
   Em's version of 50 Cent's "Wanksta"
   
   Enjoy it, There are sellers here who offer nice prices!



2. This is basically a best of Eminem album. Except it is in single release format. Which means there's 3-4 songs per CD with 1 or 2 videos (11 CDs in total) and some a cappellas and instrumentals mixed in. It's a nifty buy if you want to add to your Eminem collection. It's very rare to find. (Ironically I found 1 copy at Best Buy at $75) It has a couple studio versions of songs you cannot find no where else. Such as "Bump Heads" and "Wanksta (Eminem's Version)." The only thing I don't like is that they could've put this whole release on 2-3 CDs and marked it down to $30-$35. Because you're basically paying $75 for the 11 CDs and $2 per song. That's why I didn't give it 5 stars. All-in-all though, a nice buy if you willing to spend the money.



3. it's good, but not that good. it doesn't include the single "Just Don't Give A F***" and also it doen't include al songs from the singles (at least not from all the import versions). It does include an unpublished cover of the song "Wanksta" From 50 Cent. If you're a real eminem fan, you can buy it. It beats ordering al the Import singles.



4. I had expected more from this set, but it's a joke. What's the deal with all of the CD's with only a couple of songs on them?? What a pain. Eminem is Thug music at it's finest, but this set is a rip off. Wait for the Greatest Hits cd--you'll be better off.



5. This s*** is phat!!!
   All the singles are good, and the bonus tracks like Renegade and bad influence is even better...
   Its worth all the money!!!
   With the instrumental versions can you use it like a kareoke cd...
   Better thán all the s*** i rewieved..

4 comments about Soul Train 25th Anniversary Hall of Fame Box Set.

1. I've been a DJ for over 30 years and I was mystified when this set was released five years after the 20th Anniversary Hall Of Fame box. This one adds nothing to the 20th set. I say skip this one and enjoy the ORIGINAL Soul Train box from 1994.



2. Many boxes consist of various songs by various artists usually mid level and chosen based on availability. The selections for this 3 CD set were chosen by Soul Train master Don Cornelious (sp?) and generally kept it to one song per artist. Although 7 inch single versions were generally used here,the variety and availability really shines. For example Disc 3 open with Micheal Jackson (Since when do you see a Micheal Jackson Epic release on ANY multi artist compilation < on another label even> ) The VERY NEXT song is from Prince,who to my knoledge has NEVER been an any other compilation befere (Except USA for Africa)

   A wise investment!




3. I REALLY APPRECIATE THE MUSIC ON THIS C.D. SET....IT BRINGS THE PAST RIGHT INTO THE FUTURE, REMINDING THOSE THAT APPRECIATE R.B.-SOUL AND FUNK THAT "SOUL TRAIN" INTRODUCED US TO THE FACES THAT WENT ALONG WITH THE MUSIC.....AND THE DANCES THAT KEPT THE PACE OF THE FEELING EACH NOTE CONVEYED TO IT'S AUDIENCE.......THE SELECTIONS HERE...FROM MICHEAL JACKSON TO ARETHA FRANKLIN...TO EARTH WIND AND FIRE, CAPTIVATE THE TIMES.....THE ESSENCE.....I THINK THE SATURDAY MORNING OR THE FRIDAY NIGHT YOU PUT THIS C.D. ON YOU WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE EACH SELECTION......TRY IT! YOU'LL REMINISCE ALONG WITH EVERY SONG.



4. It bring me back to 70's.Old songs always make you feel so good.If you were a fan never miss it! Beautiful and nice packaged.

4. mann i wish i could give this cd ten stars cuz man dis cd iz just killin ne thing i've ever heard. the beats and lyrics are crazy. Tommy is the best thing 2 cum out ov memphis. him an pimpin skinn. all yall need 2 get this cd. if you like gangsta,tung twistin rap wit sum tight a$$ beats, then you want this cd.

5. Before I bought this cd, I had only heard one track by Tommy Wright III called "Hell On Earth" off the YSP click compilation. That song was pretty vicious, so I decided to check out GENESIS. Man, this junt is HOT! 2 cds, 24 tracks and damn near every one is off the chain. This cd is basically a collection of his best tracks from the underground tapes he and his Street Smart click put out (not the national releases, ONE THE RUN and FEEL ME BEFORE THEY KILL ME). My favorites are jams are: Killin Spree, One Man Gang pt.1, Caught U Slippin', Comin' for '94 (this one is SICK!), Me Against The World, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Runnin and Gunnin, Goin Undercover, Murder In The First and Will I Make It. U can tell Tommy is influinced by 2Pac in his rap, and in his attitude. The track "Me Against The World" is basically his version of HIT 'EM UP, Pac's infamous diss-song. In this song he rips some Memphis rappers that have dissed him as well Houston's Lil Keke and Botany Boys. I can understand why he is so hated, though cuz this man is vicious. His flows, his beats... everything is just tight. If you're a fan of Memphis rap, down south rap, horrorcore rap (i know theres a few of you out there), gangsta rap, or just good rap in general, u should give this cd a try. Its been in my car CD player 2 weeks and hasnt left yet. Bumpin.

1. Let's get this straight, the 3 disc set is 3 seperate albums, which ones you'll get is unknown, but all of them are Hi Power releases. This album features well known to minor artists in the underground including Mr. Capone-E, Lil' Blacky, Lil' Sicko, Brown Boy, Malow Mac, Cap N1ne, Ese Grouch, etc. If you want to get your Hi Power collection started, do it by getting this 3 cd set, a rare collectable at an affordable price, it's either now or twice the price on ebay later.
