- the Kid gets down on this CD/album, dig his style, what else can I say?
- I remember the first time I heard Bawitdaba as if it were yesterday, and I've been hooked on Kid Rock music ever since. This album is the latest chapter in the story of the Detroit Cowboy and it does not disappoint. With a few more meaningful ballads and a few less rap metal hits it's still reliably awesome. The haters, critics and nay-sayers are still welcome to suck Kid Rock's ****, as he so eloquently puts it, and indeed they can as he has not slowed down a bit. There are a lot of people who don't want to like Kid Rock and as such don't give his music a chance, and that's fine, but I suggest they don't waste their time listening to it or writing wack reviews without listening to anything other than one single. That notwithstanding, to anybody out there who doesn't like Kid Rock, they can "Kiss My Anglo-Saxon A**" as the Mr. Ritchie says.
- At some point, one has to wonder when we can settle here on a genre. I like Kid Rock's hard edge, his crazy lyrics, driving beat. Then we get some country, some horns, some backup singers. Not loving that at all. As another reviewer said, grammy-ish. I think that this album will appeal to a wider audience perhaps, but I want the wild child Kid Rock. I would like to see more covers honestly because I think he and his backup band would do an amazing job on a lot of older hard rock songs. Unfortunately, I would not be surprised if he ended up completely country, ballads and all. Now that would be a trip. While I applaud Kid Rock's exploration, I really hope he heads back to rock/southern rock and some rock/rap and stay there and produce great songs and please drop the backup singers - Led Zeppelin never had backup singers (or Deep Purple, or Jimi Hendrix, or, well you get the drift).
- Bought it for one or two songs and they were all I liked about it.
- I haven't been a follower of Kid Rock for a while, probably since his first album in 1998. I'm a soldier in Baghdad right now and when I learned of him coming to visit us I figured I should get familar with his stuff, especially his most recent stuff. I ordered the CD and am very happy I have. His tracks grew on me and there are easily five that I think have or should make the charts. In other words, I love this album!!! Plus, the fact that he tours the middle east to visit the troops makes him a great guy in my book. I had absolutely no problem with buying his material and am a resurrected Kid Rock Fan. Low Life, Half Your Age, Roll On, All Summer Long...all great songs...can't remember the names of the rest. Also, to the guy waiting to copy from his buddy. That's illegal, many do it, but why are you posting your illegal habits on the internet.
To those that don't feel like the "CD Ripper" buy the whole album, you will like it, it's worth it!

- This was a good cd for those who like their screamo type of music...for others you should get Minutes To Midnight.
- Being a loyal LP fan from day one I can conclude that this is by far the best of Linkin Park's three records and judging by the proclaimed history of the album, probably one of the best Alt Rock albums of the decade. The team of Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington pivot this genre to new heights providing catchy tunes and heavy riffs, this album will please those looking for good solid rock. Can't wait until the new album with a present late 2010 release date.
- Although this is the first official album that Linkin Park released, there is nothing amateur about it. The music and the vocals blend together perfectly, with a style that is very unique to the band. Mike Shinoda raps in a very mellow tone, beating rhythmically and smooth along with the industrial, nu metal sound that became the trademark of the band. The mix of hip-hop, heavy metal and alternative styles combine into a whole new style that is chaotic, but perfectly blended at the same time. The voice of Chester Bennington is very dynamic in the way that is sounds when he screams. It sounds like two or three different voices overlapping to create a multi-toned sound unlike anything else. The mix between Chester singing and Mike rapping creates many different feelings and rhythms uncharacteristic of any other band, many times enhancing the intended emotion much better than one person could.
- This album is interesting because rock and roll died many years ago. Some white boys think they need to try to play it but in fact Beethoven rocked more than they do. Sad. Seriously, though, the test is this: will anyone who is not a teenager living in 2000 like Linkin Park by the time 2050 rolls around? No. They're not relevant at all.
- I remember when I was 13 years old, I bought this album a year after it originally came out. It was one of the very few CDs that I owned at the time, but this album found its way on repeat throughout my 7th grade year. Linkin Park were one of my favorite bands, and naturally, I bought Meteora around the time it came out as well.
Then, after about 2 years, there was a phase I had when I completely regretted owning this album, going all the way to making fun of them for the wrong reasons and even destroying my copy of the album. I feel much worse for that reason now.
Now, let's go to this day. In no way am I big on this album as I was back in 2001/02, due to the fact that I discovered a lot of better music out there, but I also realized that there is far worse than this. Still, it's a rather average output for an overhyped band.
First off, the lyrical content has much more you can relate to when you were younger than when you mature. To my surprise, you don't hear any profanities, which is uncommon for a lot of nu-metal acts. However, what you hear is nothing but angst and internal struggles for the most part, and while there are plenty of bands I listen to that focus on that, they pull it off much better than what LP does. A good example is "Shut up when I'm talking to you" from "One Step Closer".
For the rest of this album, I should hate it, but I don't. The songwriting is extremely basic, mostly verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus, and there's barely any semblance of musicianship other than the basic chord progression. Mike Shinoda is an average MC, and vocalist Chester Bennington is pretty bad at what he does. BUT, I believe that the use of electronica and scratching used in this album helps out a bit, seeing that not many nu-metal bands that incorporate rapping can use electronic soundscapes to good use. For example, "Cure For the Itch" is a nice instrumental that's a far cry and a nice break from the rest of the album. The songs give me a feeling of deja vu, especially the non-singles, because it should be obvious that you can't let go of your past.
This album isn't highly recommended by me. There are so many faults with it, but then again, this is much better than the re-hash of this album the band would do with Meteora, the awful remix album Reanimation, the pointless Jay-Z collaboration, or even worse yet, Minutes to Midnight. If you have to go with one LP album, go with this.

- The Chili's second major 'Hits' album covers the band's most commercially successful period, and does a reasonable job of collecting the hits from 'Blood Sugar..' to 'By The Way'. This is probably good enough for casual fans, but more serious Chili enthusiasts should note that nothing from the band's first four ablums is here except their cover of 'Higher Ground'. Those interested in the early Chili's heavier, funkier sound need to seek out the first collection 'What Hits?!'
As might be expected, the collection is dominated by the mega-selling 'Blood Sugar..' and 'Californication'. Obvious inclusions such as 'Give It Away', 'Suck My Kiss', 'Breaking The Girl', 'Under The Bridge', 'Californication', 'Otherside', 'Road Trippin' and 'Scar Tissue' are here....these are all outstanding examples of the Chili's rock/rap/pop sound. The non-album track 'Soul To Squeeze' and new track 'Fortune Faded' are other great songs. But surely 'Around The World' deserves to be here more than 'Parallel Universe'? It would have been nice to have included a few more songs from 'By The Way' as well, particularly 'Zephyr Song' and 'Can't Stop'. And why is 'My Friends' the only inclusion from 'One Hot Minute'? I know the band is determined to airbrush that album out of history, but so what? Greatest Hits albums are for the fans, not the band. At least one of 'Warped' and 'Aeroplane' (if not both) deserves a place here.
In a way, the album is a victim of the Chili's own success: 16 songs (14 if you exclude the inevitable Two New Songs) just aren't enough to do justice to the number of hits the band had. With several of the hits missing, there's obviously no room for fan favourites or popular album tracks here, either. It might have been a better idea to release a double album, include all the aforementioned singles, plus a couple of rare cult favourites or popular B-sides as something for the die-hard fans.
Still, as it is, it's a pretty good collection. It's certainly a good place to start for casual fans who just want the FM radio "hits". Just be aware that there is much more to the Chili's than this, and you should take the time to explore their individual albums as well.
- it doesn't have "by the way" or "around the world", so if you just like those two songs (and i don't know why you would like just those two songs) don't buy this cd, but i do recommend buying it though
- Most definatly listen to this garbage before buying anything by this band. Annoying pop rock garbage with stupid lyrics.....horrid band.
- I'm from L.A., and I remember (probably in the late 70's/80's) when RHCP was a local band playing many LA/Hollywood venues frequently. I remember them (and Fishbone) forever in the LA Weekly. This CD - I agree - so many good songs! A masterpiece. So talented!
- i have really enjoyed watching this band evolve over the past 20 or so years, enjoying there music in my teens and exploring it further in my early twenties, it has lead me into interesting explorations always enjoy the lyrics which often have far more historical referrance than is easily recognized. I highly recommend the Greatest Hits CD with Under The Bridge as the first song.

- I only wanted one song, but since Kid Rock refuses to offer down-loadable tunes I was forced to buy the entire CD. The song Cowboy (the reason I purchased the CD) is a classic an the unofficial strip club anthem. I give two thumbs up for Cowboy and only one thumb up for the rest of the album.
- This store is awful, I ordered the cd in December and it has yet to arrive in the start of Febuary. I have ordered engine parts which arrived much faster than this cd. Dont buy from here!
- It's a proven fact that Rap and Metal can mix together in perfect harmony. I mean where do I stop?: The Beastie Boys, Anthrax, Biohazard with Oynx, and Rage Against The Machine. These are the founding fathers of Rap and Metal, so it's possible to do, but this was pathetic. Not saying all the songs were bad, but alot of them were. "Batiwada" was o.k, "I Am The Bullgod" is the first song I heard from Kid Rock, so it's the best, and "Someone's Gotta Feel This" was also good, but the rest is enough to make me want to throw up. I don't know what could've been done to save this disc, but it's too late now. However, Kid Rock does show enough talent to actually sing a song without the jigga-jigga-scratch, and that's on "Only God Knows Why". It's a shame that I hate that song, but I'll give him credit that he actually did it. I guess I can identify with Kid Rock in one way we're both single fathers, and we need to go out, and work for a living to provide for our children, but this was a stupid debut. I don't know if he get's any better, or not I will have to play the rest of his albums. He does prove he can sing with the song "Picture", so maybe there's hope. Let's just forget about this one, and chalk it up to getting it out of his system.
- I actually liked this when it first came out. 12 years later, I have to wonder why. Kid Rock may be talented from what I've heard about his live shows. I was surprised to find out he could play an instrument. That leads me to believe he might be able to read music...another big surprise. I think there's many much more talented artists out there for sure. This is my personal opinion and I'm entitled to it. He's great if you're not that much into music and have a cheap stereo or an IPOD.
- The album is enjoyable, what you can hear of it. The album is editted for radio and ruins the whole effect. In the description it was marked as explicit lyrics. Nowhere was there any indication it was editted.
I would give the work by Kid Rock, 3.5 or 4 stars, however I am dissapointed in Amazon and thus the 1-star rating.

5 comments about Californication.
- Starting off with squalling guitars and Anthony Keidis letting loose a banshee wail, he soon launches into the first verse. Belting out "Romping and stomping 'cause I'm in my prime" with the band in full bore behind him, you can tell that, this time, they mean it. "Californiacation" was the sound of a band that was now mature but not mellowed.
John Frusciante, who'd left the band for the "One Hot Minute" album, had cleaned up and returned to the fold, and his presence is immediately felt. RHCP are in lock-step with their punk-funk rock and roll heyday, and Frusciante is the guitar gasoline to their Flea and Chad Smith's bass and drum spark-plugs. "Around The World," "Get On Top" and "I Like Dirt" pound like the band's best, while "Otherside," "Emit Remmus" and the title track boast mature songwriting.
The apex of the band's new growth comes at the end of the album. Comprised mostly of Frusciante's acoustic guitar and an unusually soulful vocal by Keidis, "Road Trippin'" is smooth and clean, a statement that not only applied to the music, but to the players themselves. Like "Knock Me Down," "Under The Bridge" and Californication's "Scar Tissue," "Road Trippin'" contemplates the RHCP past while making good on a future of creativity. I played this song over and over at the end of 1999, because it made me think that the path to the new century might be a bright one. For the Peppers, it was a way to say goodbye to a decade with one of their best albums.
- The Chili Peppers light up the studio again on Californication. One of the few CD's I learn something new every time I listen.
- A companion album to '91's "BloodSugarSexMagik", effectively wiping out their mid-90's album "One Hot Minute", which tanked commercially and critically. Certainly John Frusciante's return is a major factor in this album's success, as is Rick Rubin's consistent production. My one reservation is that the record is front-loaded: all the singles and strongest tracks appear at the beginning of the disc. Still, a solid alterna-rock album and one of their best so far, although not quite the classic that "BloodSugar" was.
- After the lacklustre 'One Hot Minute', the Chili Peppers got their mojo back in the best possible way with 'Californication'; their best and most consistent album. Most people credit the return of John Frusciante for the turnaround, and it's true he makes a big difference. Frusciante displays a surpising range of influences, varying his playing from metallic shredding to tender, melodic solo work. His diversity comes as a welcome change from the rather stiff Dave Navarro, whose style just wasn't suited to the band.
However, the remainder of the band have improved their approach as well. Anthony Kiedis' singing is much stronger, and there are some surprisingly strong backup vocals and harmonies on many tracks. Also, Kiedis' lyrics are a bit more thoughtful and emotional than before. And the band in general have re-thought their whole approach, clearly realising that the rather ham-fisted experimentation of 'One Hot Minute' was a dead end. On the surface, they seem to return to the sound of 'Blood, Sugar...', but there is a clear development and maturity on display here, and some subtle twists and turns that work surprisingly well.
Basically there are four different styles on the album:
1) The old-school rap/funk/rock Peppers sound ('Around The World', 'Get On Top', 'Emit Remmus', 'I Like Dirt', 'Purple Stain', and 'Ride On Time'): A clear return to their early sound, but these songs are all given slightly different moods and feels. The frenetic 'Ride On Time' is different from the rock-oriented 'Emit Remmus', which is different again from the sexy/funky 'Purple Stain'. Reflecting the band's increased maturity, these songs are much more melodic than similar tracks from 'Blood, Sugar...'.
2) Mellow ballads ('Otherside', 'Porcelain', 'Road Trippin', 'Californication'): these are all strong songs, and work much better than 'My Friends', for example. Again, there are different feels to each of these; compare the intensity of 'Otherside' versus the very restrained 'Procelain'.
3) The mid-tempo songs with a more pop/rock influence ('Scar Tissue', 'Easily', 'This Velvet Glove'): really strong hooks and melodies in these songs. 'Scar Tissue' was a deserved hit, and the other two songs are hidden gems of the album.
4) While the band have basically airbrushed 'One Hot Minute' out of their history, hints of that album's sound are evident in the straightforward hard rock of 'Parallel Universe' and the vaguely prog-rock 'Saviour', with its shifting moods and tempos.
And everything works. The band sound equally comfortable on everything from the most frantic rap/metal to the tenderest ballads. There are literally no weak songs or awkward moments to be heard here. If you wanted to be really picky, you could argue that 'Porcelain' is a bit under-developed, and 'Ride On Time' something of a throwaway, but that's all. It's pretty much the perfect album, and it fits together well considering the diversity of the individual tracks.
With 'Californication', the Chili Peppers reminded everyone why they were one of the best rock bands of the 90's. The album also looks forward to the more sophisticated direction of 'By The Way'. This is simply one of the best albums of the decade, and is an essential purchase.
- Everything that's worth listening to again and again is on their greatest hits, 4 or 5 great tracks on this album but others aren't worth listening to again.

5 comments about Meteora.
- I was listening to this cd and got it right away because I was a huge linkin park fan back in the day. I loved this cd because it felt like every word he was saying was the same thing I was going through. I was probably around 19 at the time. Either way a great cd, and it pretty much ties with Hybrid Theory but I think I like this better because it's not all yelling, it has mixed.
- In 2003, I bought this around the time it came out. I was still in 8th grade and didn't know music outside of the [radio] box at the time. Ironically, I bought this along with Rage Against the Machine at the same time, and after so many years, only one of these albums is still in my CD collection. Take a guess.
Upon first listen, I liked this. Not as much as Hybrid Theory, but it was cool to hear new LP. Then, time came along, and with multiple singles getting radio treatment, this got old really quick, up to the point that my precious allowance money should have bought me something that lasts for longer than two spins.
What is exactly wrong with this album? It's simple: this is just Hybrid Theory with a few minor tweaks. I could literally distinguish parallels between certain tracks. For example, "Don't Stay" is just "One Step Closer" but with more contrived anger. Then there's "Numb", which closes off the album the same way that "Pushing Me Away" did previously. I could go on with this, but let's be honest with the fact that Linkin Park have no imagination when it comes to their songwriting most of the time. Minus the instrumental "Session", you're given the same thing throughout, and when it's just beating the dead horse of Hybrid Theory, it's not very pleasant.
"Meteora" is nothing but a soulless rehash of the band's previous formula, which wasn't that good in the first place. It's completely unimaginative and does nothing, and unless Hybrid Theory is one of your favorites, don't even bother with this empty shell.
Score: 2/10
- This music is total garbage, how anyone can stand listening to it is beyond me. What else is there to say this band sucks on every level listen to samples and see....if you like it jump of a cliff.
- WELL WHAT CAN I SAY IM A LINKIN PARK FAN SO YOU COULD SAY THAT THIS IS A BIASED REVIEW.. HAHAHA.. ANYWAYS. HYBRID THEORY IS STILL MY FAVORITE CD BUT METEORA DEFINETELY COMES IN SECOND. I LOVE MOST OF THE SONGS IN THIS CD. MY #1. FAINT. #2. DONT STAY. #3. NUMB #4. SOMEWHERE I BELONG....5.BREAKING THE HABIT!... AND I LOVE THE OTHER SONGS AS WELL BUT THOSE ARE MY TOP 5.. :D I BOUGHT THE CD BECAUSE I HEARD THE SONGS AND LIKED EM.. WHY WASTE MONEY ON SOMETHING YOU DONT LIKE! !!!!
- I bought this cd because it has a lot of my favorite songs on it !

- Listening to this back in '93 seemed like the most explosive, invigorating type of music there was available to the ears. Of course that really depends on your tastes and what get's you off, but to me nothing could create such emotions like Rage's first Cd.
Going into a Coconuts record store (we had those back then), and wanting to find this one, I asked the sales clerk and she didn't seem to have ever heard of them...although she did laugh with me that Jennifer Love Hewitt had a CD out about that time. Anyway, I did find the CD and tell her they were this amazing band I had heard in a club recently...and they were on Mtv probably on 120 minutes or something..?
This to me was the crowning achievemnet in rap...rock/metal, whatever it is called nowadays, you know that stuff Anthrax and Public Enemy were doing and Run DMC dabbled with back in teh day. An Entire CD of rapping with loud guitars, powerful messages...not cheesy girl meets boy stuff, this was raw crazed in your face music to mosh to, to listen carefully to, and to get absolutely crazy to(o). All the songs are good, and they are all different, it's truly amazing the sounds Morello makes with the guitar, the energy of Zach. Body Count was another band (with Ice T) that was around while this was out and the two together were quite a combination, throw on some Rob Zombie, Biohazard, Beastie Boys, even some Urban Dance Squad too if you want and right there you have got yourself quite the early to mid 90's playlist for your retro party.
And with all the (millions) of imitators and really bad rap rock that would come soon after that never even came close to this one no less, it remains the most influential and imitated perhaps of it's genre.
- This explosive album converges at a crossroads of rap, heavy metal, and rage against the crushing machine we call American government. But even if you don't subscribe to all of RATM's lyrics, which I certainly don't, this is still very energizing music that is sure to get your heart thumping and your body moving to the beats! And that guitar -- how does he do that?!
- Rage Against the Machine was considered one of the most offensive bands back in the day to true rock fans, because the band would combine a rap vocal style with heavy metal and make some of the most annoying music you could imagine. Well, time has actually been a little bit nicer to this band compared to others, and I find myself not totally hating the music on here which is a BIG surprise because I thought I'd absolutely hate this album when I came back to it 10 years later. The guitar riffs are somewhat more memorable to me than they were all those years ago, and while the vocals don't appeal to me at all, at least some of the lyrics are quite refreshing and I understand the point the band was trying to make.
- Rarely had a group debuted, in singles-form no less, with a more potent attack than the last track of their most powerfully raw output, making radio radical if just for a moment. The group might have refined a few songwriting techniques in future releases but never sounded as urgent again, only pulling away from what their moniker and manifesto originally ordained.
- I ordered this on the 29th od december, an never recieved it from the supposed shiping location.......

- Seriously. I see lots of comparisons, but most of them can't actually pinpoint one group these guys sound like. It's always an amalgam of some kind. My ears have been soured by the likes of Kid Rock, Bizkit, Korn, Slipknot and ICP, but HU are truly on a different level. Part of it is the fact that they're actually funny (as long as you're not offended by potty mouth). The other part is that you can tell from their delivery that most of the time they're not taking themselves too seriously.
It's entirely understandable that some people won't like them, not for any lack of taste or prudishness, but being that the first song I heard was "Everywhere I Go" I could instantly name several people who would not like it. First and foremost, my parents came to mind along with anyone else who is closer to Social Security than legal drinking age. Also, you probably won't want these cats alongside your Indigo Girls collection. If you require profound, inspirational songwriting, just don't listen. If the kids aren't around (or don't exist in your life right now) and you want to laugh at some absolutely absurd and obscene songs, well here you go.
- Is this what passes for music these days, only an idiot would buy and like this talentless, ripped off, horrid garbage.
- It's not that these guys are not trying it's just a more rappier version of ICP. Infact i don't even really listen to ICP & i'd prefer ICP over these guys. Honestly even the first track that was overplayed on the radio isn't all that great. Sure it sounded nice the first couple of listens to but its like every other rap band. Ranchy lyrics & nothing original. The music was the only decent thing out of 'Undead'. And this is coming from someone who used to like the rap/rock mix. All i can say is there are other bands out there that do the trick. Honestly i like Beastie Boys much better then this. =)
- I must say that this album is the exception which proves the rule. Why ? Basically, I only like rock music but these guys are the perfect mix between rock & rap. It's something fresh with a lot of energy. Each song stays in your mind thanks to catchy chorus.
Highlights : Undead / Young / Sell Your Soul (Rock based songs) & No. 5 / Everywhere I go (Rap based songs)
Challengers : Black Dahlia / This Love, This Hate
I highly recommend this album, the best of the year so far !!!
- HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD SWAN SONGS IS A GREAT ALBUM. THEY ARE MORE OF A RAP TYPE GROUP IN A WAY BECAUSE THEIR SONGS: "UNDEAD","EVERYWHERE I GO","NO OTHER PLACE","NO. 5","BLACK DAHILA","BOTTLE AND A GUN","CALIFORNIA","CITY","THE DIARY",AND"PIMPIN". WHILE OTHER SONGS LIKE:"SELL YOUR SOUL","YOUNG","THIS LOVE THIS HATE",AND "PARADISE LOST" ARE MORE ROCK. THIS ALBUM DOES HAVE SOME PRETTY BAD LANGUAGE ESPECIALLY EVERYWHERE I GO AND UNDEAD BUT VERY GOOD ALBUM.

- Bush - Sixteen Stone
Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
Pearl Jam - VS and Ten
Meet your match. This is one of the best cds I have ever listened to. I have had it for years, but wanted to put in a review as it is still on my top 10 albums of all time.
Realistically, it is in my Top 5 and probably top 3. If you like alternative and hate structure, this cd is the stuff, just like 16 Stone.
- A truthful album name, as Incubus made one of those quantum shifts groups rarely repeat with their third proper, an exquisitely produced mesh of soft and hard which posed Boyd and Einziger as one of modern rock's great pairs. They would go on to write even better songs, though never top this momentous album flow which made them.
- Over the years, Incubus has put out such classics as "S.C.I.E.N.C.E.", "Morning View", and this album, "Make Yourself". These albums have come to show us that not only is Incubus able to reach out to a large audience, but they are able to play the music they want to get that audience. Even while the band has several songs that have been Top 40 smashes, oddly enough, they've been playing the music that comes straight from their heart, playing sincere, real music that makes them happy, and also makes a huge amount of people around the world happy.
You could say a lot of bands sound similar to Incubus, such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn and even Disturbed, but Incubus truly has a sound of their own, which they prove to you on "Make Yourself". And not only are Incubus able to create their own sound, but at the same time, they seem to master their own brand of music on this album. Here's a run-through of the standout tracks:
"Priviledge": A funky, heavy guitar riff plays its way over a solid drumbeat throughout, and Brandon belts out his always great lyrics in his always great voice. This songs starts the album off on a very good note.
"Stellar": One of the biggest songs off the album, and one of Incubus's most well-known songs. Experimental turntable noises and Brandon's amazing voice start this song off before going into a beautiful, hypnotic guitar riff. The verses here are soft, spacy and very beautiful, and the chorus kicks it up a few notches with a hard-rock riff and more powerful vocals. Such great lyrics as "Meet me in outer space/ We could spend a night, watch the Earth come up", or "Meet me in outer space/ I will hold you close if you're afraid of heights", will make their way to countless teenager's Myspace and Facebook statuses.
"Make Yourself": The title track that definitely deserves to be given the name, "Make Yourself" combines more great guitar riffs, heavy drumbeats, nice melodies, great lyrics and a shout-a-long bridge into a classic, three-minute intelligent rocker.
"Drive": A sweet, acoustic guitar drives this song (no pun intended), and Brandon brings out some of his best lyrics and vocals around. The chorus is very catchy and hopeful, "Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there/ With open arms and open eyes, yeah/ Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there/ I'll be there". A very melodic, psychedelic guitar solo is also featured here, making this a great, laid-back song and a nice break into some softer stuff.
"Clean": Starting off with percussion and featuring some of the best turntable work on the entire album, this song definitely has a huge, seaside vibe to it. Another drive-by-the-beach classic.
"Battlestar Scralactica": A four-minute, instrumental track. This is probably the most experimental song on the whole album, and ensures for lots of listening fun with each turn of the band's progression.
"I Miss You": A beautiful ballad that seems perfect to slow dance to, with a melodic riff, romantic lyrics and probably Brandon's best vocal performance on the album. It's amazing that they could get all this down in not even three minutes, this is one of my favorite songs off the album.
"Pardon Me": Another huge hit off the album, with a faster vocal feel and some experimental vibes going on. Yet another great song!
With such classic songs as these, "Make Yourself" is definitely one of the best rock albums of the past, ten years and is a great way for Incubus to close out the '90s. There are just so many great songs on here that are perfect for chilling, cruising or rocking out, it can fit whatever mood you're in. Plus, it along with other Incubus albums set the perfect summer mood. So be sure to get this album as soon as you can! Thanks for the time, and peace.
- that hasn't already been said. I just listened to this again and had to put in my say. Its a great disc. Must have listened hundreds of times over the years. Refreshing, funky, deep, emotional and unique. They had a great vibe between this and 'Morning View'. Though their last 2 discs are quite good, there is more energy here. Not a Metal record, a Pop record or a Chili Peppers wanna be record. Incubus' brand of funk is different. The disc is 100% on the mark. Great pick if you don't have it yet.
- One of my top favorite CDs. I listen to it over and over. "Light Grenades" and "Morning View" are good too, but I still like this one the best.

- Cocky has got to be Kid Rock's best work; rocking guitars, rocking music, very upbeat and full of energy! I listened to this when it first came out and I'm still listening to it today! Awesome!
- the cd came in a timely manner and it was in the shape that i was expecting it to be in, which was good.
- listed under southern rock well one song was,i really liked that one but you can keep the rest
- This CD isn't bad, but it really isn't good. I love the first song, Trucker Anthem, and Uncle Kracker started the CD off right, followed by a couple great Kid Rock Verses. After that it is all down hill. Songs 2-4 are good, and I for some reason really like what I learned out on the road, but other than those songs, I don't like any other ones except WSCR with Snoop Dogg.
- Before I got Rock N Roll Jesus, the only Kid Rock song was "You never met m.f.." and of course "Picture". I hope you're into Country as this CD seems to be Kid Rock's slide into country. I'd say its 9 country out of 14 songs. thats cool for me cuz Rock N Roll Jesus is basically all heavy rock/country.
