5 comments about Asylum Album Box Set (9CD).
- This Box houses the first six Eagles Albums {"Eagles" through to "The Long Run"} with the two disc: "Eagles Live" and a single: "Please Come Home For Christmas/Funky New Year". It is a Limited Edition Set at 20,000 produced. There are no extras included herein, no outtakes, no demos, no newly discovered live tracks. These are reproduced versions of the Albums {and Gatefolds} in paper sleeves.
For folks that only own Greatests Hits Collections, this is the proper way to fill in all the gaps between 1972-1980. This Set is indeed a bit "Pricey" when compared to buying these CD's separately, but with a bit of shopping knowledge, this can be found for a reasonably price. I purchased mine at a Record Collectors Show, brand new in the shrink rap for $60.00.
These CD's sound great, and are packaged as LP reproductions, {Mini Sleeves} with all the Original Graphics intact {Smaller, wear glasses!} As I have never been a fan of CD Hardcases that break so easily, for me this is the way to keep this Music together in one spot, and in the correct format.
If you want to take pokes at the Band for their Music, their Dramas, Their Political Beliefs or their Haircuts...That is indeed your business.
But for me, the Peak of Country/Rock and or Folk/Rock or even California/Rock, is right here on these Albums. The Eagles didn't kill the "Dream" that started in 1965 with the first record by The Byrds, they lived that dream like nobody else could. Just check out History between 1972-1980, so much changed during those years, just about everything changed within that brief time span, as did The Eagles.
Great Band, Great Production, Great Packaging, Great Price? Yes, if you shop around.
Four Stars !!!
- You're probably already an Eagles fan if you're reading this. This review is about the construction of this boxed set edition, not the music. If amazon allowed half stars I'd give it a 3.5.
It's a good looking collection, with each CD sleeve duplicating the original vinyl album in great detail. The gatefold album covers are well made, but the inner and outer sleeves of the other discs are far too fragile. I'm sure they will start tearing, even though I take immaculate care of my music collection. Also, the textured white cover of _On the Border_ sits in between the dark _Desperado_ and textured dark _One of These Nights_, and the covers are rubbing off on each other.
The other drawback is that the text is mostly illegible because of the small size and the variety of fonts. But that's always an issue with these "vinyl replica" type CD sleeves.
I had put off buying the Eagles on CD for a long time, so since I found this set at a good price I'm glad I finally have it. Just be aware that you'll need to be very careful with it.
(For quality comparison, the Doors box set from 1999 and Queen's The Crown Jewels box set have very nice, well made miniature album sleeves.)
- excellent set of cds.......all they made and then some other versions. very enjoyable. if you like the eagles you will love this
- The people who should pick this up are the ones who want to get the Eagles catalog remastered in one shot and want the original style packaging. The songs are classics and there's a lot of stuff that you won't get on the greatest hits package (although "Very Best of" manages to cover a lot).
But for a very limited edition that has a higher pricetag, Don, Glenn, Joe and Tim should have autographed each set (because it is their devoted fans likely buying the set), even if it meant raising the price on the set even higher.
I also think that the entire set should've been a CD/DVD collection, as a lot of rare footage exists from this era as well, some of which has been shown on VH1 Classic. I just think it's far more fun to just watch the archive footage with its flaws than the flawless "Hell Freezes Over" concert.
The "bonus" CD should've had the "Get You In The Mood" B-side from "Take It Easy" that they have never put out on CD.
The only other thing I can think of is that "Eagles Live" should include more songs as the original 2 LP release had time constraints. Hopefully one day they can do a proper "Eagles Live" box set to cover the original Eagles with Leadon/Meisner as well as the Felder/Walsh/Schmidt lineup, because a lot of great songs they'd done live were left off.
I think that because they have been putting out more repackages than new material (they really don't need to put anything out to justify touring), I don't see it appealing to anyone who already has all their CDs to begin with.
Bottom line: The Eagles have repackaged themselves one too many times (the DVD-Audio version of "Hotel California" probably the only repackage worth its weight) , yet they have a lot of live material in the vaults that are far worth exploring than yet another repackage of what we've all heard many times over as well as concerts they've recorded for TV and have on film.
But DO watch out for the Eagles "Farewell I" DVD to be released sometime in June 2005 and shown on network TV.
- By now most of us have the all of the albums, even the remastered ones on this box set. Many of us (not me) bought the Very Best of the Eagles collection last year, not to mention the last box set, or "Hell Freezes Over", or Eagles Live...
Or the previous two greatest hits cds. It goes on and on, and so far no sight of their long awaited "new" studio album.
So why are Glenn, Don, Joe and Timmy hitting us with still another remastered, repackaged set of the same old songs? And why are people still willing to pay the big bucks their albums always run???
"How Long", a marvellous, country-rocking Frey-Souther composition, was an early Eagles live staple. How come it has never seen the light of day on a recording? There's no reason why they couldn't include it on this set, except maybe that Henley and Frey would still prefer to besmirch the contributions of Leadon and Meisner (and Felder too).
Don't you think it is high time to release that (not-so) new studio album, and give us new music, Henley??? You talk about CORPORATE GREED, DON, so what do you call this over [...] dollar turkey?
Glenn, are you listening too?
Either get those creative juices flowing again, boys, or cut the prices or the [...] You are millionaires so many times over it isn't funny.
Unless Bernie and Randy are benefiting from this, don't bother. Or get yourself a Chris Hillman,(who has a wonderful new album coming out very soon) Herb Pedersen, Bernie Leadon, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, or even a Burrito Deluxe cd. At least these musicians are keeping the honored tradition of California Country Rock alive. Glenn Frey and Don Henley sure ain't.

5 comments about Chicago Box (Bonus DVD).
- If you want music buy Group Portrait which mercifully ends with Chicago XIV.
Disc five could and should have be replaced with the bonus material from the individual 1970s cd releases or a soundboard live concert from 1972-3 when the band was at its peak. Chicago XVI or much worse XVII and the rest is work the band should be ashamed of. This trash also brought in legions of dumb bell fans who don't mind a lethal dose of Michael Bolton in their music. Jason Scheff and the egotistical for no good reason gum chewing, scat singing Bill Champlin are the reason many original fans would not consider buying new Chicago product. Chicago was once a tight band that played amazing, complicated arrangements. Now they are their own cover band with sometimes just 2 original members playing formula power ballads to chubby girls who shout Jason! (squeal, giggle, giggle). When it comes to destroying their musical legacy this band has left no stone unturned.
As for the DVD the short but sweet 1972 concert is what this band was once all about. In true current Chicago fashion it has been properly stunk up with the promo material for Chicago XIII. What were they thinking releasing "Must have Been Crazy" as the single? Who made this video? A high schooler taking a television/video mini-course? Must have been insane is more like it. "Closer To You" would have been a better choice. One thing to be said about the Dacus era is that they sounded much tighter live and seemed to have quit showing up for concerts drunk from what I personally witnessed.
- If you're a Chicago fan don't bother with any of the many Greatest hits because they can't come close to this box set. It is awesome!!
- You either love or hate the MOR Chicago sound, from 1969-1973/4 they were innovative and exciting. The decline can be traced to Terry Kath's death and Robert Lamm's decision to take a back seat for the next 30 years. Just buy CTA and see how far they fell....or buy Robert Lamm's solo stuff.
- This set, to me, is one of their best. I already have many of these recordings, however, it's great having them in one set. The DVD is funny and entertaining.
- I have met and spent time in the presence of Lord Michael Ramsey and Lady Jane. A delightful couple and saints both in the true sense of the word. I look forward to reading this book and having it in my collection.

5 comments about The Music of Johnny Mathis - A Personal Collection (Repackaged).
- I,have listened to these 4 C.d.'s over and over again and I, had difficulty giving any of these C.D's less than 10 of 10.Finally I,had to rate them 10 and 10 plus. IF there was ever a desert island disc, this is it. Solo's, duets they are all there. By the way I,love "Feelings and I, am thrilled that he included it.
.
- If you enjoy Johhny Mathis you will I am sure find this collection of Johnny's personal selction a treat to your ears.
I was a teenager in high school during the late 50's when Johnny made what I believe to be some of his very best songs.
This collection is so masterfully reproduced that the quality is phenomenal. So much better on CD's than the LP vinyls that we had back then. And of course the stereo systems that we have now further enhance the listening experience. Unfortunately Johnny's voice is now no longer anywhere near what it was back then so I am so pleased that we have these great songs archived on this new media.
I just can't get enough of this great and wonderful voice. I'm just worried that I might wear out my stereo from playing these albums over and over again.
- Although the products I ordered in December were just fine, the DHL delivery via llama was unbelievably slow and subsequently not received at all in time for Christmas. Amazon did reship, taking their own time about it, but at least used another carrier. Compared to everything else I ordered online at the same time, all free shipping by the way, this was absolutely the worst!
- Excellent! A LOT of good tracks. Well worth the price.
- I had forgotten how great Johnny Mathis is until I recently watched his "50 Year concert celebration on PBS. I enjoyed it so much, especially one song, "99 Miles from LA" that I went on Amazon to find one of his cd's that had this song in it. Fortunately for me, I decided on this personal collection. It is hard to believe that I have four cd's in this collection that contain so many wonderful favorites of his that are absolutely fabulous and for such a small $ amount. Anybody that wants to revisit Johnny Mathis cannot go wrong with this collection. Bravo, Johnny.

5 comments about Tibetan Freedom Concert; New York City, June 1997.
- The Tibetan Freedom Concert in 1996 when shown on MTV changed my life forever when I discovered what was going on in Tibet. And when I got my first glimpse into Buddhist culture. This CD goes over 2 years of the Tibetan Freedom Concert. It is the first 2 that were held in 1996 and then in 1997.
The CD is not just a youth approach to doing something for the Buddhist nation of Tibet, it's a celebration of Tibetan Culture. Many artists from Tibet appear along with bands like Rancid and The Beastie Boys on this CD. There are also chants from Buddhist monks. Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam play an acoustic version of "Yellow Ledbetter" that makes this CD well worth the money you paid for it. There is also a track that appears only on this CD from Rancid titled "The Harder They Come" Beck appears on the 3rd CD with "..." and De La Soul plays a very energetic version of "Me, Myself & I" The 3rd CD is also an enhanced CD for your PC that you will be very inspired by. It comes with a collection of information on what it is that you can do for Tibet and a Quicktime library of video files showing The Beastie Boys, Radiohead, Ben Harper, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and some very special messages from His Holiness The Dalai Lama. As well as a short video of Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys explaining how he got involved. This CD is truly a great way to remember these concerts. If you buy this CD, you not only get music, but a celebration of Tibet's spirit and culture celebrated through 2 years of concerts.
- This triple album, unless you want to support the freedom of the Tibet, is not really worth buying. For a three disc set, it only has as much as one disc's worth of acceptable good music, which you probably can get on iTunes individually.
- Rancid's version of "The Harder They Come" rocks. The rest is just as good.
- This three cd collection exhibits the talent of many big-time established artists, such as U2, A Tribe Called Quest, Noel Gallagher, Foo Fighters, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Beastie Boys, Alanis Morisette, Beck, the Fugees and Rage Against the Machine. It also shows off some up and coming artists, like the John Spencer Blue Explosion, Taj Mahal and the Phantom Blues Band, and Pavement. There're hits, like RATM's Bulls on Parade and Beasties' Root Down, but it's dominated by lesser known, non-single, songs. Beck's folky Asshole and Blur's answer to Oasis, Beetlebum. The cd is spiced with a share of traditional Tibetan chants and music, so you won't forget why this album was made. As MCA Adam Yauch says at the end of Root Down, "Let's not forget why we're all here. To help the people of Tibet get their freedom."
- Tibetan issue is of big importance and _that_ makes this album worth attention - not the performers' escapades. A few Tibetan tracks are very nice and (supposedly, will be) interesting for western folks. The CD-ROM part of this project merits a separate edition - especially the collection of thangkas!

3 comments about Crystal Ball.
- I wasn't going to review this item, but considering the other two reviews, especially Raymond Wesner's, are very pathetic. So here goes:
This 4 disc set is filled with outtakes, alternate mixes, some live, acoustic, and experimental pieces. I like Prince for his more artistic endeavors, namely his early-mid 90's period, where the majority of this material originates.
I think largely this set consists of music intended for his albums 'Gold Experience' and 'Come', along with a couple alternate mixes of songs that actually did appear on those albums. These tracks include 'Days Of Wild', 'P Control', 'Get Loose', and maybe songs like 'Interactive', 'Acknowledge Me' and 'Dream Factory'; they've got that strong vibe that exists throughout those albums. 'Honest Man' sounds like a track that had been substituted by 'Solo' on Come, but that's just speculation.
Other/most tracks are compositions that Prince made for 'private use only': 'Crystal Ball', 'Poom Poom', 'Chloreen Bacon Skin' (an experimental drum/bass guitar mix which features Morris Day), 'Tell Me How', 'Calhoun Square', 'The Ride', and 'Da Bang', to name a few (this is after all a HUGE collection of music).
I honestly love every track, minus a few weaker tracks: '18 & Over', 'Rippopgodazippa', and some others sound like they have a purpose but not for wide listening.
I don't listen to the last disc much, if at all. It just doesn't do much for me, as I'm not a fan of acoustic material, but I should definitely give it another try.
Altogether, there's a good 3 hours of music on this collection. It may not be Purple Rain, but Prince isn't Purple Rain, so if you're disappointed that you can't hear any 'When Doves Cry', you should probably go back to 1984, because this stuff is more forward-looking than a lot of fans are willing to admit.
- They deliver what i bought on the time yhey stated. What else dcan you ask for?
- I've had "Crystal Ball" for quite some time. I haven't played most of it for a while, but I find disk 4 just stunning - so much so, that in the last couple of years its probably my most played prince disk. Considering the size of my Prince collection (I've got most (if not all) of his officially released album stuff + various other tidbits, including stacks of vinyl, picture disks and more) I think that says something.

5 comments about The Man Who Invented Soul.
- I purchased this CD for myself as either a Christmas gift or a birthday gift a couple of years ago, and it made me want to get more albums by Sam Cooke. So I purchased Keep Moving On, which was also wonderful. I was so in love with The Man Who Invented Soul that I bought myself a portrait of Sam Cooke, which is still in my room. This album almost made me lose my mind because it felt as though he was alive, and I wanted to meet him. The feeling I get whenever I listen to this album is priceless. It is an extremely romantic album and a great way to spend some time alone. When he died, the music industry really lost an outstanding musician. May his soul rest in peace.
- This is the perfect set for anyone who wants to explore the works of Sam Cooke. Wonderfully put together.
- Wonderful music by the best songer that ever lived, period.
- Sam Cooke is the man. I know that Sam is an original Idol. Marvin Gaye, Johnny Taylor, Otis Redding, Ronald Isley, Smokey Robinson and many more singers idolized Sam Cooke. The man who invented the soft sweet angelic notes. For instance he first created the Whoa a whoa a whoa. And it is so smoothe. Sam is a man that can sing both rough and smoothe. If you put sam against a lot of singers today they would have to go back to pushing grocery carts or pumping gas. Even though Sam loved to sing in the old style like nate king cole he also would sing pop, gospel, rock and blues showing he is versatile. If Sam was living today who would still be an Idol. Sam Cooke the man,the legend.
- A pretty audacious title for this box. Does it deliver? Frankly no: There are certainly some of his best tracks here that showcase both his smooth soaring side and the times when he'd allow a little sandpaper into his voice. But it also fails to give you any idea where that great voice got its seasoning (none of his Specialty era gospel material) and turns away for the most part from the grittier material it seems Cooke would have aimed at had a hotel manager's gun not claimed his life. In addition, the recognition of the wonderful instrument that was Sam's voice should be paired with the knowledge that his material wasn't always worthy of it. (This set would probably be fine as a well-chosen 2 CD set)
What's missing here? His time with the Soul Stirrers, plenty of songs that were Top 40 hits on the pop or R&B chart (#1 R&B I'll Come Running Back to You, R&B Top 10 hits Little Red Rooster (you get a live version instead),Shake, and A Change is Gonna Come, as well as Ain't That Good News, Good Times, Tennessee Waltz, Cousin Of Mine, and It's Got The Whole World Shakin', all of which hit Top 40 on one or both charts. The version of "Another Saturday Night" you get here is an alternate take instead of the 45RPM version. It would also seem essential to get his first bid at mainstream appeal with "Lovable". (He released it under the name Dale Cook to try and avoid offending his gospel fans.) Most of these are missing because of lawyers (read the review by compilation producer Paul Williams for the in-depth explanation).
The last disc is the whole albums of NIGHT BEAT and LIVE AT THE HARLEM SQUARE CLUB. It feels more like a record company cash grab from Cooke connoisseurs than an attempt to be comprehensive. Cherrypicking a few live cuts would be the better route.
Soundwise, I can't argue with the remastering. It all sounds stunning. If you're a mono purist, be advised that stereo mixes were used on this set.
BOTTOM LINE:
Cooke is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and deserves better than this. Until the lawyers can get in agreement, Cooke will not have a definitive box set. There's a phenomenal 2 CD box set on Cooke waiting to be made. Until then, most Cooke fans will get the best overview on the remastered SACD audio PORTRAIT OF A LEGEND (31 tracks,B00009N1ZV). It distills Cooke's greatness in a single disc and includes nearly everything mentioned as "missing" above.
3 1/2 stars

5 comments about The Classic Collection.
- Talk about a bargain! I just got this in today, and I don't know why, but the price I got was $15.98, now it just jumped up to $45! I almost feel like I stole it with a reduced price like that. But regardless, I first started my collection with Ultimate Petula Clark. That was a great introduction and all, but to me, there are only 3 songs missing from Ultimate that you don't seem to get on this 4 cd collection. But you probably won't miss them. I think disc 3 is going to be interesting, for her covers of Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Scott McKenzie, The Association, The Four Tops, and a few french singles thrown in. If you don't care for French singing, perhaps Petula might change your mind, but like it or not, you're going to get a few french singles thrown in. (I don't mind at all) Everything Tony Hatch wrote and produced is here as well, and I'm not too sure because I haven't read the liner notes too deeply, but it sounds to me like alot of her pre-Tony Hatch material is there too. I'll warn you there, it kind of sounds like pre-Beatles pop music of the late 50's/early 60's from the UK, and maybe even the US. (Think of Doris Day or Connie Francis pop music of the time). Petula Clark doesn't do blues, heavy rock or psychadelic music, but she does a great Wall Of Sound, or symphany pop music down to a T. It is interesting to think how Dusty Springfield & Petula Clark were the 2 sirens of the UK invasion that had nothing to do with Guitars! (Not to say you won't hear them, but let's face it, their instrument is their voice) Now that I have this collection, I'm going to have to discover all the songs that I'm NOT familiar with, and there are quite a few. I think if you're considering this collection, you better hurry, because Castle Music got taken over, and most of the stuff they released will probably go out of print fairly soon, so even if this keeps going up and up in price, don't miss out! Your iPod or stereo will thank you for it.
- It may lead me back to 60's 70's, romantic song that sung by Petuka Clark who has romantic voice that make me always feel younger. Note: Many hits of Petula still not seen in this box set.
- Fantastic! The sound of real music to my ears. She's a gem of a singer.
- This is a stellar compilation of Miss Clark's greatest hits and then some. Very reasonable price for this 4 disc set. So reasonable in fact, that it made me hesitate to purchase at first. Was it going to be as good as it appeared on paper? The answer is a resounding Yes.
The song selection is a truly comprehensive overview of Miss Clark's pop career. All the U.S. Top 40 hits are here from "Downtown" to "Don't Give Up", including the sometimes hard to find "The Cat In The Window". What adds to this collection are the numerous additional songs which include her renditions of many of the hits songs of the day (1960s), songs which were hits in Europe but not the U.S. and some delightful numbers sung in French.
Despite my knowledge of Miss Clark's work, which I thought was rather extensive, I even found a number of songs new to me which have quickly become additional favorites. They include "Where Did We Go Wrong", "Days", "Just Say Goodbye" And "Life & Soul Of The Party".
A major concern of mine re inexpensive collections is the sound quality of the recordings. Well, never fear. At least to my ears, the sound quality here is excellent. Occasionally, these collections can sound thin or "tinny". Not so this one. The sound is as full as it can be expected to be for songs recorded more than 40 years ago.
At this price, with these songs, from this artist, sounding as good as it does it, you really can not go wrong with this.
May 21, 2008 Addendum: The price I paid for this box set was $17.97 in 1999. Truly a terrific bargain. Although the price has more than doubled since then, and it is not the bargain it once was, I still think this box set is worth it. I still listen to and enjoy these CDs. In fact, recently just burned many of the songs onto my computer so I can add them to my ipod.
- Which is how concise, precise and incredible a collection this is. The lady who's been meshed into the "British Invasion" of U.S. 60's pop music swooned us through much of the decade with 15 Top 40 hits that included the Grammy-winning "Don't Sleep in the Subway" and other classics such as "Downtown," "This Is My Song," "Kiss Me Goodbye," "My Love," "A Sign of the Times" and "I Know A Place." But American producers of "Best Of" series never did Petula Clark justice, and the wrong was undone in 1997 by England's Castle Pulse studio. And here's its masterpiece: an 80-track compilation in four CD's that includes all the American hits and one gem after the other. Vols. 1 and 2 of the four discs are titled "The Singles" and Discs 3 and 4 "The Song Stylist." Nos. 1 and 2 unleash what they promise - the singles that catapulted this incredibly gifted lady into American stardom, and a few other hidden gems, one of them Ms. Clark's soulful and tuneful English version (titled "Sailor") of German singer Lolita's 1960 worldwide maga-hit, "Seeman." Vols. 3 and 4 give us what they promise: the lady's indominable style, incredibly conveyed in such "borrowed" hits as "Homeward Bound," "Elusive Butterfly" and "Let It Be Me." A buried jewel is the bilingual Ms. Clark's unleashing of a few French numbers, including "L'Amour Viendra," "Tu Reviendras Vers Ta Maison?" ("Am I That Easy to Forget?" a la Englebert Humperdinck) and "Qu'Est-Ce Qui Fait Courir Le Monde?" No one can easily argue that Petula Clark didn't write a chapter in American music at one of the field's most pivotal social turning points, and the lady's charms continue to mesmerize us. And, honestly, get this collection and every other "Best of Petula Clark" release isn't the "best of" compared to this, the one compilation that any music-lover and Petula Clark fan will ever need.

5 comments about Rock, Rhythm and Doo Wop, Vol. 1: The Greatest Songs from Early Rock 'n' Roll.
- good, well thought out box set, good listening. This music has became timeless and still sounds fresh.
- ROCK, RHYTHM AND DOO WOP is an excellent collection for fans of rock & roll TOP 40 radio. The majority here were top sellers in their day and got the most airtime. By those parameters alone, they would be considered "the greatest."
Main criticisms--
Since these tunes are more likely to appear on various artists compilations, even the beginning collector may already own a good percentage of them. Additionally, the three CDs here could easily have accomodated 90 songs, instead of 66.
The 64-page long-box style book is quite excellent-- packed with full page photos and lots of interesting details. Sound quality of the transfers is very good, as well. Altogether, this is a nice package of rock & roll and doo wop standards.

- The best thing that I can tell you about this collection is that so many people wanted to borrow it at my wife's job she had to bring it home for fear that someone would take it.Wish I could get a commission for all the people that said they were going to buy it. Sound restored wonderfully, brings back a lot of good memories from a simpler time.
- Rock, Rhythm and Doo Wop, Vol. 1: The Greatest Songs From Early Rock 'n' Roll is yet another great box set from Rhino Records. The songs span the early years of rock music from the mid 50's to the early 60's. As the title suggests, all styles of music are represented by artists like The Drifters, Buddy Holly, The Shirelles, Del Shannon, The Platters, Ray Charles, Little Richard and many others. Well worth the price, this is a perfect collection for fans of this musical era.
- I sat down at the computer to list Rock Rhythm & Doo Wop CD set on Amazon Marketplace to sell, but just on a whim stuck one of the CD's in the player to listen for a minute. Now I just cannot part with it. The music is so much fun, you cannot stand still during some of the songs, and it really brings back memories (for some of us!). If you enjoy music from this era, this is a great set to have.

5 comments about Billboard Top Hits: 1980-1984.
- This was a great collection of music from the early 80's and it actually was a compilation of hit songs unlike some other "best of" or "greatest hits" collections that I have purchased previously. Great sound quality as well.
- I listened to completely different kinds of music at the time, so I didn't have many memories attached to these songs. The musical quality of the songs is actually suprisingly good, and the mastering has been done well. This is a nice review of hits of the early 1980s. Ten songs per CD isn't much, so there could have been more songs from each year.
- This was during Xmas 1984. One lovely girl from Texas brought to Poland (this is where I live) the 10 cassetes pack with "The Best of Billboard - 1984". I still hear this music. Now I can buy a piece of it.
To anyone who was ...teen in 1984: you have to own this one. Don't tell me there is no music you remember from these years. It must be one at least. Remember the first girlfriend. The first kiss maybe? Yes! That's it!.
- This set takes me back to the early days of MTV. Pac-Man fever, Atari and great times in my life. As a child of the 80s it was a special time and special music. This box set helps take you back from time to time!
- again billboard has done well in putting together a box set of the best songs of this time period. you will appreciate this gathering of the best. every listening minute of this box set is pure elation. not to be passed up.
