  1. This CD is a really great collection of the first japanese theme song+a few others.I The songs are: Mezaze Pokemon Masuta, sung by ash's japanese voice actor, Hyakugojyuuichi, sung by Professor Oak(this is a hilarious song), and Oyasumi Bok no Pikachu, sung by ash's japanese voice actor(this song sounds like it belongs in the japanese version of "Into the woods"
If you are sick of corny dub music, give this CD a chance.

  2. This CD had a few things, not much. There was Mezase Pokemon Masutaa and it's karaoke version and the Japanese Pokérap and that's about it.

  3. This is a really great CD. It has the first Japanese theme song it's the long version there is also a karoke version at the end of the CD. What's really cool is that there is a Poke rap type song that has all the pokemon but in Japanese.

  4. This CD has the Japanese Pokémon opening theme, as well as some other tracks that I hadn't heard before. I can't tell you what they're called because it's all in Japanese. The last track is the karaoke version of the Japanese theme, good to listen to, but learning the words isn't easy. Another must for those who love Pokémon music in any language.

  1. This is one of the best japanese Pokémon CD!
Here there is a list of the tracks:
01 Gekijouban Poketto Monsutaa Taitoru Teema (Theme title of Pocket Monsters Film)
    02 Raibaru! (Rivals!)
03 Jirarudan no Teema (Geraldan's Theme)
    04 Ware-wa Korekutaa (I'm a collector)
05 Furuura no Hue (Flura's Flute)
    06 Hateshinai Sekai (Everlasting World)
07 Sandaa Toujou! (Here comes Zapdos!)
08 Minna ga Ita Kara (Because everyone's here)
    09 Dasshutsu! (Escape!)
10 Hoshi no Kodou (Pulsation of the planet)
11 Toi et Moi (You and I)
The first track is the music that we hear in the film when appear the title of the movie. The second track is the main theme of the film; it is the japanese second opening of Pokémon anime. The third track appears in the movie when we see Geraldan (and his flying ship); this is a strange song (full of chorus). The fourth song is a music dedicate to Geraldan. It begins like the 03rd track, but then it change in a more rhythmic music. "Furura no hue" is the song that Flura (Melody) plays with her flute. It sounds a bit different from the american version. The sixth song doesn't appear in the film. It is a nice, slow song, that has the base of the fifth track. The singer is a girl, maybe Flura. "Sandaa Toujou!" plays in the film when appears Zapdos; I don't like a lot this music.
The 08th song is another music that doesn't appear in the film. I think that the singer is Satoshi (Matsumoto Rika). It is a very nice music, that has some rhythmic and some slow parts (describe this song isn't simple!). It sounds like some european or american song.
The music of "Dasshutsu!" plays in the japanese movie when Ash take the last treasure and return to Shamouti Island. It is very rhythmic (i like a lot this song!). At the end it become more slow.
The 10th track is the last BGM music of "Maboroshi no Pokemon Rugia bakutan" (The explosive birth of the phantom Pokémon Lugia). It has Flura's Song in the background. This music is very nice too!
"Toi et Moi" is the best song of the CD, according to me! The first time i hear it i thought that it isn't good, because it sounds strange, but then i change my mind and now it is my favourite!
In conclusion, if you are a Pokémon Fan, you must have this CD!
I hope that this review can be helpful to you!

  2. This was a great CD! However, I keep reading the it has Toi Et Moi. I ordered it from somewhere else, and it doesn't have Toi Et Moi, it has Rapurasu Ni Notte, Minna de Arukou, and the karaoke of Rapurasu Ni Notte. Anyways, no matter which songs it has, this is a GREAT CD! I especially love song number 6, Hateshinai Sekai. It's Melody's song. Even though I think Melody is evil (Leave Ashy Washy alone! He's Misty's! Long Live AAML!!!) This song it AWESOME!!

  3. This Cd is full of dramatic music in my opinion. The first track starts off with ,what it sounds like,is probably the music to when Lugia appears. The second sounds like the theme song to the second season to Pokemon. The rest is just breathtaking. The music tells a story on its own. Track 3and4 sound pretty erie. With no.3's Chanting in the music to no. 4's mechanical type. Five is the flute playing the song of Lugia. 6 is a song that goes to the tune of the song of Lugia,7 has what sounds like the big climax ofthe movie. 8 is another song that is very pretty.9 also sounds like another big thing happens in the movie.10 is the ocarina of the them of lugia, and 11 is No other than Toe et moi! The theme song for the movie! all and all I love this cd!

  4. I love all the tracks on this CD, but my fave _has got to be_ "Toi et Moi". It just rules. That's not just cos I'm a Sakashipper...it just rules supreme. Anyway, the movie, the Cd...Pokémon in general, great stuff! Buy!

  5. THIS IS THE MOST AWSOME CD ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET! Revelation Lugia Soundtrack TOTALLY blows away the American version! My favorite songs were track 2 (Raibaru), track 3 (Jirarudan's airship music), track 4 (Ware ha Korekutaa), track 5 (resurrection music), Minna ga itta kara (i don't know the track), and track 11 (toi et moi).. I have most of them memorized, and JIRARUDAN HAD THE MOST SPECTACULAR VOICE! ...I LOVE IT!

*SA is recycled from the Pokemon Sound Anime collection CD
*AA is recycled from the Pokemon Advanced Adventure CD

As you can see 9 tracks are recycled from the Pokemon Sound Anime Collection and 4 tracks are recycled from the Pokemon Advanced Adventure CD. Also, 4 of the tracks are really bad songs that definitely didn't need to be on this CD. So, that means half of the CD is either bad or recycled, which makes me disappointed.

My gripe with this is that they could have done away with all the bad songs and bad bgm and squeezed all the good music here onto the Advanced Adventure CD which was only a mere 30 minutes long. That way, we wouldn't have to shell out money for this extra CD and all of those recycled, filler tracks.

I also must gripe that they are missing a lot of good tracks from those series: the Johto and Advanced Adventure Trainer and Gym Leader Battle Music, and the Johto (Gold/Silver) Team Rocket theme were some incredible tracks I heard on the TV show that I would have adored to see on this CD.

Fairly disappointing, not worth what it's suggested retail price...

...but still, I enjoy the new good tracks, and I LOVE the battle music (tracks 20 and 21). I'm glad to see new BGM released, but I wish they would release more [*good*] BGM, do away with the bad tracks, and stop filling CD's with recycled material.

  2. Overall this includes music from the Hoenn, Johto, and Kanto anime seasons. Plus there are music that were taken out from the US Hoenn dub, that only existed in the Japanese version of the anime. Anyone who likes the BGM from the Pokemon series, would be excited about this release. It has 32 tracks total, which also includes a few vocal songs, but the majority are background music from the anime. This features several never before released TV bgm pieces. Although not all of them that existed in the series are included, among some of them that are included are one of the Ruby/Sapphire battle themes, and Johto battle theme, plus more. Hopefully there will be another TV BGM release, so they can come out with the rest. There are too many Pocket Monsters CDs with songs on them. Let's hope that by purchasing this item, it will show them how much we like the tv bgm. Just got it, and it's awesome. It's about time we got another CD like this. If you really enjoyed the music from the anime and like remixed versions from the games, this is a must have.

5 comments about Pokemon: Christmas Bash.

  1. My son just loves this CD. We purchased it in 2007 after Christmas 2006 and had to listen to it well into June! A must for any Pokemon lover! Warning - may cause occasional slip ups when singing the original Christmas songs! :-)

  2. This is a great CD for children and Pokemon fans alike! It features songs sang by the original voice cast of Pokemon. A MUST-HAVE for any pokemon cartoon fan! It puts the spirit of christmas into your home, with a pokemon twist. It has 12 songs and is a little over 39-minutes long. The only reason I don't give it a perfect 5 star rating is because it's not my # 1 favorite christmas cd, but definately one of the best! I do however wish it was longer.

  3. This is a Great CD, especially for this time of year. Just like I did with Backstreet Boys Mellinnium, I'm going to do a review of each song. Here goes:

    1. Pokemon Christmas Bash- I love this song! Catchy lyrics, great beat. But the "Pika-pika" "Squa-squa-squirtle" part does get kind of annoying in this song.

    2. I'm Giving Santa a Pikachu this Christmas- This isn't a half-bad song. Professor Oak has a pretty good voice, although he could use some improvement. Otherwise it's great.

    3. Winter is the Coolest Time of Year- Good song, this is the one that Misty sings on. She's a good singer.

    4. Nobody Don't Like Christmas- OK, other than the bad grammar, this is a pretty good song. This is a good one to listen to if you want to add a little bit of humor to your day.

    5. I Keep My Home In My Heart- This is a good song too. Eric Stuart (I think he plays as Brock) has a good voice. Didn't he used to have his own band at one time? Hmmm...

    6. The Christmas Song- OK, now this one was a laugh. Team Rocket doing a remake of a famous Nat King Cole song??? Give me a break!!! I happen to like the origional one better, but Team Rocket didn't do too shabby (bad) on this one.

    7. Under the Mistletoe- Another song that wasn't too badly done. It's actually quite good. I can't make any comparisons because I've never heard the origional version of this song before.

    8. Must Be Santa- Not bad... Not bad at all. Ash, Misty and Brock do a pretty good job of this one.

    9. The Night Before Christmas- I don't have much to say about this song, since I normally don't listen to it. But when I do, it's really not that bad.

    10. Pokemon Christmas Medley- This is one of the ones I liked the best. I sing along to this one all the time.

Tracks eleven and twelve are Kaeroeke versions of tracks two and ten. Overall I liked this CD, and I recommend it to anyone who's a Pokemon Fan. Those of you whom have heard Eric Stuart (Brock) Sing Two Perfect Girls on the Pokemon 3 the Ultimet Soundtrack, know that he has really good talent and a very good singing voice. That's it for my review, I hope it helped.

  4. This review may be a little long, but oh well. I have a lot to say about this cd, and I might as well start at the beginning.

Before I start, I might as well get this cleared up. For those who don't know:
Team Rocket~the coolest characters ever! Jessie, James, and Meowth
Team Twerp~Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu (I cringe even typing their names! *shudder*)

Now, here are my original ratings of each of the songs.

    1. Pokemon Christmas Bash 8/10
    2. I'm Giving Santa a Pikachu this Christmas 0/10
    3. Winter is the coolest time of year 5/10
    4. Nobody Don't Like Christmas 10/10
    5. I keep my Home in my Heart 4/10
    6. The Christmas Song Infinity/10 :D
    7. Under the Mistletoe 1/10
    8. Must be Santa -10/10 (that's a negative, NOT positive!)
    9. The Night before Christmas 5/10
    10. Christmas Medley 8/10
    11. I'm giving Santa a Pikachu this Christmas (karaoke)-10/10
    12. Christmas Medley (karaoke)5/10

    My Opinions and Song previews:

    1. Pokemon Christmas Bash~Good song! It could easily be on your favorites list for this cd. The only thing I'd wish is that Team Rocket had more lines! With a pop/rock beat to it, you'll easily be dancing to it! Overall, if you like Christmas songs and Pokemon, this is a good mix!

    2. I'm Giving Santa a Pikachu this Christmas~Probably THE worst song on the cd. I'm not kidding. If you absolutely hate Ash-like me!-you won't like this song. Professor Oak isn't exactly the best in this song either. It has a slow beat to it, which can make an already boring Christmas song even more boring, if even possible. Not cool.

    3. Winter is the Coolest time of Year~A good song, but not my favorite. I like the fast-paced melody and the words aren't that bad. Misty sings this song, and it's pretty good. I'm not a fan of "Team Twerp"-as you can probably tell! TR rules!-but this song is one of the better ones.

    4. Nobody Don't like Christmas~Fans of Meowth rejoice! This is, by far, the 2nd best on the cd, and the funniest Christmas song you'll ever hear! Our favorite kitty sings about the good and bad parts of all the holidays. A word of advice: get the tissues before listening to this song for the first time. You'll laugh so hard, you'll cry!

    5. I keep my Home in my Heart~A good, heartfelt Christmas song about missing your family if you happen to be away on Christmas day. Sung by Brock and Misty, this is an unlikely combination. But the fast melody makes up for all the weirdness and overall it's a pretty good song!

    6. The Christmas Song~We now come to the climax of this review, with the very best song on the cd, end of story. Our favorite bad guys, Jessie, James, and Meowth completely redefine the term "classic" by updating the old Nat King Cole hit. I must say, they do a pretty darn good job of it and the song is very good. I think even though this song is an old one, Team Rocket's updated version overrides any other song on this cd. A jazzy, yet good melody, little bits of humor, a good instrumental background; what more could you ask for?

    7. Under the Mistletoe~Cute to some, lame to me. Like I said before, I absolutely can't stand the twerps, as I want to tear my hair out at the sight of them. This song has an unusual melody to it, and all it's about is Misty trying to kiss Ash under the mistletoe. Um, he's, like, 10 and she's, like, 11? See a problem there? I'm 14 and I have no desire of kissing anyone (except my crushes...hee hee! :D). I understand the whole shipping shebang, but COME ON.

    8. Must be Santa~One word: lame, Lame, LAME! (Okay, maybe three.) This song is set to a weird melody and Team Twerp sings about seeing Santa Claus on Christmas. It's quite weird, and anyone who's heard it and didn't like it can probably attest to that.

    9. The Night before Christmas~Team Twerp and Team Rocket (first is the worst, second is the best! :D) read the classic poem "The Night before Christmas". Granted, it's not an actual song, but it's still good! The best part is when they both start reading the poem together (world peace rocks!)

    10. Christmas Medley~Cute! The whole gang sings this song. It's all the famous songs with different arrangements of words and melodies rolled into one! However, the only reason this song scored two less points with me is that Team Rocket was once again denied a fair amount of lines. One thing I hate is that Team Twerp takes all the lines and leaves Team Rocket with barely anything. But the 12 days of Christmas is awesome!

    11. I'm Giving Santa a Pikachu this Christmas (karaoke)~I hate this song and always will, so what makes you think I'll like to sing along with it? Those who don't like the original version don't listen to this song unless you like the melody.

    12. Christmas Medley (karaoke)~A good original version can only mean one thing: People will love to sing along to the karaoke version! Are you the competitive type? Think you know all the words? Then bring the heat! Or if competitions aren't your thing you could just listen to the melody and try to get all the words right.

That's it. Song overviews, my ratings and opinions, the whole nine yards. Bet you can't wait till I get out of here after reading this whole thing, so I guess I'll go. But if you're considering buying this cd, please read what I wrote, and what others have said about this cd. It really will help you and this cd is so good, you'll just have to get your dancing shoes on! Anyway I'm outta here! :D

  5. oh my god!!! how could anybody like this?????? the world is coming to an end!!!pokemon singing? aaahhhhh!!!this is crazy!!! anybody who actually likes this is insane!!! aaahhhh!!!!i swear everybody who actually likes this is on drugs!!! aaaahhhhhh!!!but seriousely this world is coming to an end and this is proof

4 comments about Rapurasu Ni Notte.

  1. This was a really great cd! Even though it only has 3 songs and two are vocals it's still really good! The first song is sung (I think) by Kasumi(misty) and it's like a beach theme. The second song which is sung by Ash, Brock, Misty, and someone else who I can't idenify (I love the sencond song ^^) and the third song is BGM of the first song which is pretty. After I got this cd my friend went out and ordered the same one (they loved it!) so if you're in the mood for some fun music then this is a must order!

  2. Well, this CD's got 3 tracks. One has all the good guys and their solos. Another is kinda Carribean, and another is the karaoke of the first song.

  3. I found this CD somewhat more laid back than other Japanese Pokémon CDs. Rapurasu Ni Notte (Go With Lapras) is a tranquil, tropical song with squeaking noises to be heard from Lapras from time to time. This song is sung by Kasumi (Misty in the US), and its a nice change to hear her singing and not shouting at Ash...

The other song on this CD is Minna De Arukou (Let's All Walk Together) is a short 'image' song with Satoshi, Kasumi, Takeshi and Kenji. They all sing a short verse about their favourite Pokémon, and just like the first song on this CD, the mood is quite relaxed.

The final track on this CD, like on most of the anime CDs, is a karaoke version of Rapurasu Ni Notte.

I really liked this CD. It was one of the first Japanese CDs that I bought, and despite not having a clue at this time what was being sung, I found this whole CD a welcome change of pace from the more upbeat Pokémon CDs. Recommended to all, especially Lapras fans!

    ~Sakurai Charizard

  4. This CD has 3 Songs! The 2nd song has the charather Solo's. Satoshi (Ash)and Pikachu, Kasumi (Misty) and Togepi, Takeshi (Brock)and Vulpix, and I think Kenji (Tracey, I think is going to be his english name)and Mariru (Marill) all have there own solo's.. The Pocket Monsters only have a small solo. The human charathers have a much bigger solo. I think they're talking about their Pocket monsters. The first and third songs are the same one Karoke version the other not. It comes with a free Pocket Monster card.. And it's a mini CD. I recomend this CD if you like Beachy type of music.

5 comments about Pokemon World [ECD] Collector's Edition.

  1. Luckily this CD's price isn't as high as a normal CD's.
With only 3 songs on it(and some other trivial stuff), the Pokemon World CD isn't something you'll listen to often. But with the fact that they included the Pikachu's Winter Vacation(an EXTREMELY hard to find video) song on there, I HAD to get it. They also have an instrumental version of the song, with a nice saxophone solo.
The Pokemon World song is on the CD too. In my opinion, this is the worst Pokemon theme song ever produced by 4Kids. The lyrics even seem like a big commercial! Its obvious that the Japanese version of the season two theme is far superior.
Either way, you can get this CD for cheap from just about anywhere, and that'd make sense, since this only has 3 songs(One being almost unlistenable). And if you're interested in hearing the theme song of the Pokemon video you've most likely never seen before, then you should get this CD. The song's not half-bad either.

  2. I relly hated this CD. THREE SONGS. Release some more with it please. Thank YOU

  3. This CD is aucutally one of the best anime CDs out there. The first track, Poke'mon World, includes the full song with exclusive lyrics. Although a good song, most of the words end in the first 1:30 and the song is 3:18. The second track, Pikachu's Winter Vacation, is very catchy, but very short. Rip off? No, although the only thing Poke'mon about this song is in the chorus when they say, "Pikachu's Vaction" twice. The third track, insrumental version of Winter Vacation, is very good, adding a saxaphone solo in there instead of lyrics which aucutally enhances the enjoyment. There's also the Enchanced CD stuff which includes the music video of Poke'mon World(the same one off of the Orange Island episodes), a cool screensaver(lots of movement and cool pics), and 4 backgrounds(2 are the same except with a different background, one with Pikachu, and the other the title with Charmander's evolutions). All in all, this CD is pretty cool... if you like Poke'mon(or cheap CDs)!

  4. You have to realize this is a CD single not a full length album. There are only two songs (Pokemon World and Pikachu's Vacation), and one instrumental. Pokemon World is a catchy enough tune and was the shows second theme song. Pikachu's Vaccation is a bouncy and light hearted romp and in my opinion the better of the two. I only wish it lasted longer. It would be hard to recomend this disc based on these two short songs, but the CD-ROM elements add greatly to the value. You get 3 different wallpapers for your PC and a fun screensaver too, as well as a preview of Pokemon The Movie. Another reviewer said these wallpapers were too basic, but I like the unclutered backgrounds and large characters that appear on them. The colors are bright and the images crisp. Loading these elements was easy and quick and I have had them on my computer for quite some time now. I would've given 5 stars if two or more songs were included and/or there were more interactive elements added. But then the CD probably wouldn't be this cheap.

Bottom line. If you're a Pokemon fan you MUST have this disc. You'll be hard pressed finding better Pkemon wallpapers and screensavers anywhere else and you get two fun and catchy Pokemon tunes as well. GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!

  5. This cD is really cool, I had the Pokemon 2000 CD but its version of Pokemon World is not nearlly as cool as the original. I just love pokemon World... "We all live in a pokemon world, I wanna be the greatest master of them all!!!" =)

3 comments about Pm: Best Collection.

  1. I actually got this CD for the sake of the promo cards, but the music is really worth taking a look at:

    1) Aiming To Be Pokemon Master - the first opening credits song, difficult to learn to sing, but once you learn to say the words that fast, singing it is a blast. Not my favorite arrangement of the song, but better for us altos as it's a whole step lower than the other version (later on this CD).

    2) Summer Vacation Fan Club - weird song from Pikachu's vacation. If the music was less weird I'd like it more.

    3) 151 - first of MANY closing credits songs. This is sung by Pokemon Kids and Professor Oak...who has a particular singing voice that annoys me because of the way he says his vowels. He is the only reason I have for disliking this song.

    4) Can You Draw Pokemon? - sung by Pokemon Kids, Raymond, and Imakuni?. I like this song if only because I find Raymond's blatantly American accent and intonations amusing. The words in the song tell you how to draw Pikachu, Mew, Dugtrio, Tangela, Chansey and Poliwag.

    5) Team Rocket Forever - this variety of music doesn't appeal to me so I don't normally listen to the song, but it does give an opportunity to listen to the Japanese Team Rocket voices.

    6) Can You Say Pokemon? - I like to think of this as the equivolent to the PokeRaps. Wonderful to learn to sing, though the singer Imakuni? is very weird. Again, Raymond's funny.

    7) Singing Pokedex: Normal Pokemon part 1 - Pokedex entries put to music. I like the range of music this song has: a different style for each of the 8 different Pokemon: Chansey, Clefairy, Clefable, Eevee, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Ditto, and Snorlax.

    8) Please Trade - This is my sister's favorite song...again, because of Raymond's antics. (Also sung by Imakuni? and Kobayashi.) The style of this song is not as weird as the other songs on this CD: it's actually normal sounding. The words talk all about getting along while trading.

    9) Pika Pika in the Middle of Chu - the title is a pun and isn't easily translated, but oh well. This is an extremely CUTE song and I LOVE it...until Professor Oak starts singing toward the middle. Still, it's on my favorite play lists.

    10) Meowth's Song - good song with guitar and other synthy instruments. Japanese Meowth is the singer. Other Meowth songs like Team Rocket Forever and Meowth's Party are really weird, but this song is quite nice.

    11) Together with the Wind - I absolutely adore this song. It's orchestral, which is a nice break from the trendy synth songs previous on this CD. The lyrics are also magnificent. This song is in all of my Japanese playlists.

    12) Aim to be Pokemon Master '98 - mix of the opening credits song for the Mewtwo movie. This is, I think, a much better arrangement of the song--a little sharper. (The words etc. are exactly the same in both versions, except in the lyrics book this version has furigana ;) I love singing this song.

    13) Bonus Track: Can You Say Pokemon, Baby? - If I though the first Japanese PokeRap was weird, this is insane. The music is more bizarre and Raymond's in-betweens are more random, if that was even possible.

OVERALL GRADE: I'd give it a B+ in terms of quality of music. On amazon.com I gave it 5 stars because it's presents a fantastic range of the best Japanese Pokemon music--instead of buying many single CDs, you can buy this summary, so to speak--for those who otherwise can't acquire large numbers of other Japanese Pokemon CDs (or wouldn't want to because of the expense involved), and because it's a "full" CD (with 60 minutes of music) as opposed to some of the other Pokemon CDs, which are only usually about "half full" (with only 30 minutes). It is also home to 2 of my all-time favorite Japanese songs (tracks 11 and 12). And, of course, I happened to purchase the version with the 10 exceedingly rare Japanese promotional cards, which by itself is justification for getting this CD.

  2. I'm going to admit to you one thing right off: I am a fan of Pokemon. But not ALL Pokemon. For example, the American anime is bad. The marketing to small children is bad (I'm not under 10, just so you know). The pure sickening merchandising and bundled music (on the American CDs) is bad. But I did not mention two things: The game (It's still great and unique, even if it is a little childish, but it's still great for trips) and the Japanese music. It is the Japanese music that I am concerned with here.

In my opinion, SOME (not all) of the Japanese Pokemon music is great. And ALL of it is better than the American music, in every single way. So for me to rate this album, I gave it 4 stars. Now to discuss each track:

    1. Mezase Pokemon Master - A very nice rock piece sung by Rika Matsumoto (the voice of Satoshi/Ash in Japan) that was the music to the first opening in Japan. It's quite catchy, and I've managed to memorize most of the lyrics (and for good reason too. It's not bad.) If you've ever played Pokemon Pinball, you know that weird music that doesn't seem to fit in with the rest that's the capture music on the blue board? That's this track, except GameBoy-style.
    2. Natsu Yasumi Fanclub - A kitchy kiddy piece that was used for the opening to Pikachu's Vacation (the sketch before Mewtwo Strikes Back) in Japan. Not bad, but it is a bit kiddy.
    3. Hyaku Gojuu Ichi - The name means 151, just so you know. This is a strange song (But not the strangest. I'll get to that in a bit.) that was used for the first ending in Japan. It's interesting, and better than Natsu Yasumi Fanclub, but not TOO great.
    4. Pokemon Kakerukana? - Another strange song much like Hyaku Gojuu Ichi. This song was used in a CD that was essentially used to give instructions on how to draw Pokemon. Yeah. Weird. But not as strange as the next song.
    5. Utau Pokemon Zukan * Normal Pokemon Part 1 - I have yet to find anything from the CD that this came from, other than this track. It's an interesting ditty that is essentially the Japanese Pokedex, sung (That's what Utau Pokemon Zukan means, Singing Pokedex).
    6. Rocket Dan Yo Eien Ni - For all you Team Rocket fans, this is the track you want. You remember the episode where Jigglypuff was first introduced? You remember the Rockets singing during that ep? Well this is that. But longer. And with the Japanese Rocket Motto thrown into the middle. Interesting, and another fairly good high point on the album. (Did you know that Musashi/Jessie is voiced (in Japan) by Megumi Hayashibara? If you know who that is, then you now know that she sings in this song.)
    7. Pokemon Ierukana? - THIS is the weird song (well, and one more further down the line). Sung by Imakuni? (Yes, the question mark is part of his name). You know the Pokerap? Well, this is the Japanese Pokerap. Except not in rap. And not with the American names. You really don't want to know what types of music are in this. Due to its weirdness, this ranks up there as one of the more INTERESTING tracks of the CD. There's a version for Gold and Silver too (but not on this disc) named Pokemon Ierukana? neo.
    8. Torikaekko Please - This song was used for a commercial in Japan (a lot of commercial songs are released as singles in Japan for some reason) and is essentially a song used to advertise Pokemon Trading Cards. The song has to do with Trading Pokemon Cards.
    9. Pika Pika Massaichu - This one was the counterpart to Natsu Yasumi Fanclub. So it's the ending theme. It's also very kiddy.
    10. Nyaasu no Uta - A very nice song (second ending in Japan) sung by Meowth. It's soft, slow, and almost sad. This might ALSO be because it's about Meowth singing about how lonely he is, as the only pokemon able to speak English/Japanese.
    11. Kaze to Issho ni - The ending to Mewtwo Strikes Back. Very orchestral and grand. And very nice. Nearing the end, we're at the final high point of the album (that lasts through the next two tracks)
    12. Mezase Pokemon Master '98 - Same song, new style. This song was used for the opening of Mewtwo Strikes Back. Just as good as the first version. (There are two other versions, used for the second Neo season, and the fourth movie)
    13. Pokemon Ierukana Baby? - OK. You want weirdness again? One last time before this albums over! You get Ierukana again! But even stranger! This song is a bonus track only available on this album. The others were on singles.

So to sum it up, this CD is a very good one to start your forays into Japanese Pokemon music. It has its high points, and it has its low points. But it's MUCH better than anything released over here. There are other Singles you may want to find too (As this only covers releases through the first movie) including: OK! (The first Neo Opening song), Nyaasu no Party (Another ending song during the second half of the Orange Islands), toi et moi (Ending to Revelation Lugia, done by Namie Amuro. Good way to start getting into JPop, though not the best), and Ready Go! (The latest opening theme. As the latest movie and its singles have come out in Japan, this song (redone) is probably one the opening. I'm eager to hear it).

  3. I received this CD as a gift a long while back, about two and a half years ago. I also got a cd single called "Meowth's Party" (yes, they have the front cover in English), and listend to that one first. Man, it cracked me up the first time I heard it since I wasn't used to Meowth's Japanese voice. Too bad they don't sell it here. If you ever get the chance to get your hands on Meowth's Party, buy it! All 5 of those tracks are great! Anywho, here's my review for this CD. It... is... (pauses to build suspense...) ... ... TRULY THE BEST! Here's a review of each track. (Track titles are as Winamp tells me.)
1)MEZASE PokemonMaster -- This is the opening theme. Far superior to the English version. Satoshi's (Ash's) Jap. VA is wonderfull!
    2)NATSUYASUMI FanClub -- I believe it's the opening to Pikachu's Summer Vacation. It's cute.
3)HYAKUGOJYUICHI -- I think this is the first end theme. It's EXTREEMLY catchy.
4)Pokemon KAKERUKANA? -- One of the Imakuni? songs I think. Imakuni? scares me.
5)RocketDAN YO EIEN NI -- A Team Rocket character vocal. It's very good. They even stop in the middle of the song to say their motto.
6)Pokemon IERUKANA? -- I believe it's another Imakuni? song. They ask how your mouth is rolling today. (?!) I think this is the Japanese PokeRAP.
7)UTAU Pokemon ZUKAN / Normal Pokemon part1 -- The singer goes through a few of the Normal-type Pokemon (Eevee, Ditto, Snorlax, Clefairy, etc... cute stuff) and sings a little bit of information about the Pokemon. This is VERRY cute! Cute singing and adorable music! I wish I had a karaoke version.
8)TORIKAEKKO Please -- Another scarry Imakuni? song.
9)PIKAPIKA MASSAI TYU -- About Pikachu, but it's charming. I like the music.
10)Nya-su NO UTA -- Meowth's kawaii little character vocal. It's about the moon and how it's rounder than the world will ever be, then the second half is about that saying of how everyone has a look-alike somewhere, and he's wondering what his look-alike is doing, and if the look-alike is also lonely. It's very sweet.
11)KAZE TO ISSYONI -- Very beautiful and moving. I think this is the end theme to the first movie.
12)MEZASE PokemonMaster '98 -- The opening to the first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back. I don't know which version of this I prefer, they're both fantastic! I wish I had a karaoke version of this one...
Pokemon IERUKANA Baby? -- And yet another Imakuni? song! Jeze, why couldn't they get Two-Mix (did a lot of Gundam Wing songs) or Satou Akemi (Fushigi Yuugi) or someone else? Imakuni? is freaky!
Well, all this good stuff comes in a beautifully illustrated/constructed book. Instead of being a jewle-case, this is in a cardboard book with a nice plastic slip cover. GORGEOUS! This CD would be a beautiful addition to ANY collection!
