5 comments about Theta Meditation System: Let Go of Stress, Renew Your Spirit, Gain Insight, and Intuition.

  1. I just wanted to say that the product came in great shape and in record time. And, I enjoy the disk, to listen too while I do work at the computer.

  2. This is a wonderful CD to calm the overwhelmed mind. I use it at times to go to sleep and also just to sit for a 1/2 hour and relax.

  3. It is too short. It is relaxing but it has to be rerun constantly to get into a deeper relaxed state. I am disappointed with it.

  4. Product came quickly and in good condition. The product is excellent. The moment I listened to it, I felt amazingly relaxed and fell right asleep.

  5. Don't waste your time. The quality of the recording is very poor. Some tracks are louder than others and at one point it sounds as if the pianist hits a wrong note and then tries to cover over the mistake by improvising around it.I know this cd is not meant for musical entertainment, but give me a break!(I could make a better
cd with my own limited resources). The music is distracting and choppy. If you must have something to listen to while meditating,I would suggest the drone of a fan.

5 comments about Alpha Relaxation System.

  1. I use this CD while medatating and love to listen to it. It is very relaxing. It has sounds of nature, ocean, raindrops ... with calming music in the background.

  2. THIS IS MY FAVORITE CD FOR MASSAGE. WHEN I JUST NEED TO RELAX, I CAN LISTEN TO THIS AND FIND MY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL PLACE

  3. If it wasn't for a strange noise that sounds like a dead soul calling from beyond (creepy!) from time to time, it would be great.

  4. Not having the appropriate scientific background, I can't attest to the validity of the science (though I'm waging a losing war to keep from calling BS on psychoacoustic vibrational sound therapy in general). What I can say is it is very relaxing.

Is it more relaxing than, say, nature sounds or light classical music? I don't know. I would recommend the CD just because it is relaxing and leave it at that. I'm ordering the classical CD set so I can try it during meditation and sleep (this one isn't for sleep, though people seem to be re-entraining themselves for alpha wave sleeping (snicker)) and because I like classical music. I would recommend it if you're looking for some relaxing sounds.

  5. The relaxation set is just that, pure relaxation. I love the active relaxation CD. I can read or work and I am real calm, on an even keel, feeling like when you go to sleep at night, not quite asleep and not quite awake. I also enjoy the water and the piano playing. Highly recommended.

  1. Mannheim Steamroller? Christmas music? Do you need to know more? This collection is just great. It will please the most casual listener as well as a musician with a trained ear. The arrangements are just beautiful. Enjoy!!

  2. Great pricing and lots of their songs in this collection. Terrific! Also try Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

  3. I really enjoyed the dvds. The songs are a mixture of old favorites with some new ones. I played them for my elementary school class and they loved them also. We even played name that tune for music one day using these cds.

  4. Mannheim Steamroller is so unique on any kind of music, but Christmas music is particularly accomodating for their interpretation.

  5. I've had cassette versions of a couple of these albums, now, I'm getting around to acquiring the cd versions. They are the best Christmas music arrangements ever.

5 comments about Fresh Aire Collector's Box, Vol. 1-8.

  1. I have always been a fan of Mannheim steamroller. Their Christmas albums are first class products. obtaining the complete "Fresh Aire" collectors box has made my collection complete. The Box is well made and the contents are as expected. nothing but superb music.
Everything was as advertised and I received it in excellent condition.

  2. I had been trying to collect all 8 CD's one at a time, but never could find all of them.....so I gave up and just ordered the eight all together in a wonderful wooden box. I don't know why I didn't do it to begin with. If you like Manheim Steamroller you will love having all 8 CD's to play at one time. Or record them to one CD in the Mp3 format. Seems like it would not be Christmas without listening to Mannheim Steamroller Fresh Aire, or their Christmas CD's....either way you can't go wrong.....

  3. You have to love this set. You just put it in the driveway, pour some lighter fluid on it, drop the match and watch it burn baby burn!

Man, if only all music this agonizing came in these wooden boxes. They real make immolating the thing a pleasure. Much better than those fast burning cardboard boxes.

  4. The beautiful sound of the recorder or piccolo in the morning, with birds chirping. That is the sound you hear throughout the boxed set of Fresh Aire 1-8. This constant mood of relaxation with a kick of rock is a true hit. I urge you to purchase this item. It is worth it.----KWZ

  5. Excellent collection of Mannheim Steamroller selections. Of particular note is Vol 8. This music has a beat that makes it outstanding for either casual listening or to accompany a serious aerobic exercise. I walk for 1.5 hours daily and this is my most recent choice for brisk walking.

5 comments about Everything and Nothing.

  1. When David Sylvian's twenty year relationship with Virgin Records came to an end, he delivered two compilations to them drawn from his catalog, a vocal compilation ("Everything and Nothing") and an instrumental one ("Camphor"). Both were initially released as limited editions with bonus discs and eventually saw wider release without the bonus disc. Together, they provide a fantastic overview of the bulk of Sylvian's work, and while some of his decisions (particularly with respect to the Japan material) may irk some of his longtime fans, the value of these sets-- both to the unitiated and old hands, is difficult to estimate.

"Everything and Nothing" is the vocal piece, two discs of superb material, drawn from Sylvian's albums and collaborations. Around a dozen or so pieces are new, unreleased or rerecorded, with a few rarities thrown in the mix as well. I could probably argue about track selection here and there, but really the set is incredibly well put together-- many of Sylvian's finest moments are captured here, from the triumph or "Orpheus" to the darkness of Rain Tree Crow's "Every Colour You Are", the deep funk of Robert Fripp-collaboration "Jean the Birdman", the off kilter techno-tinged "The Scent of Magnolia" or the downright bizarre (and brilliant) "Pop Song". It's really hard to overstate just how good this material is. For the longtime fans and collectors, a couple shelved tracks that had acheived legendary status get aired out here-- Japan leftover "Some Kind of Fool" and "Secrets of the Beehive" outtake "Ride". Quite honestly, both are quite as good as myth had built them up to be, something highly unexpected.

Sylvian did in a few cases choose to rerecord vocals, most notably on "Some Kind of Fool" and perhaps Japan's apex, "Ghosts". This stung quite a few folks who really loved this material. Personally, I've no issue with this.

The limited edition release came with a bonus disc-- a four track single for "The Scent of Magnolia" containing a nearly pointless edit of the title track (trimming about 30 seconds off of it. The remaining three tracks include remixes of "The Scent of Magnolia" and "Brilliant Trees", but the real value in the bonus disc comes in the studio recording of Fripp/Sylvian piece "The Blinding Light of Heaven". A fierce live piece, it picks up a midtempo lope and an unusual grace that you'd never guess could have been from this song based on the live recordings released. If you can find it, it's a wortwhile pickup. The limited edition (which this is not) is distinguisable by its third disc.

Whether the 2 or 3 disc variant of this, "Everything and Nothing" is a superb overview of David Sylvian's vocal catalog. Highly recommended.

  2. You either love or hate DS's music; you either get it or you don't. For those of you that do get it, this is a very good compilation that is very representative of his life's work to date and includes his time at Japan e.g. "Ghosts" as well as his collaborative work with e.g. Ruichi Sakamoto "Bamboo Houses".

These two tracks also happen to be my favourites but the other tracks are also very good and the track order makes for very smooth listening, so much so that for a newcomer, the album sounds very cohesive and is a good listen. DS has a very unique style and this is a very good album to get to get to know the man and his music. Recommended.

  3. If you don't like the artist for whatever reason don't bother
with a review. David Sylvian is one of the most unique artists past or present. I love his work and really respect him as a musician and person for that matter. This compilation will not please everyone and is intended for "new" listeners as an introduction to David's talent, after all a true fan will already have these tracks found on his various cd's and other recordings.

  4. I had a couple David Sylvian tracks here and there and I liked them very much so I figured this CD was a good place to start investigationg David's music. It's a double edge sword that this album feels like a consisant 2 cd release instead of a collection of 15yrs of musical releases. It's good in the fact that the styles of the songs don't feel disjointed or make radical changes. Overall the cds are calmy, mellow and sometimes very good. But the bad side to this is that I can't believe that a musical artist can't innovate their style over 15yrs of music.

Some of the best tracks on this collection are rare pieces that appear on compilation cds or released on somebody else's CD.

Overall this is a worthy buy as I really like David's baritone voice which reminds me very much of the Aluminum Group's vocals but with better guitar work and very nice strings and/or horns worked into the music.

  5. a magnificent collection of golden songs from some other universe - where art takes precedence over commerce and true vision rules.

I have a slight problem with the packaging of this work. Everytime I open it the flimsy plastic center pieces designed to keep each cd in place, which broke apart, cause the cds to fumble around and possibly get scratched. The manufacturers should have the same standards that the music executives building homes in Malibu do! Provide us something that helps us better store our music.

Sylvian is an incredible musician/artist who should not be faulted. His catalogue is highly impressive and thoroughly satisfying.

Enjoy, but make sure you quickly preserve the songs before the packaging destroys them!

1 comments about Sacred Spa Music Series.

  1. As I've said before, the folks at Real Music do an especially good job of putting compilations together. The Sacred Spa Music Series Boxed Set consists of three CDs which are also available individually, and which are made up of the most soothing and relaxing tracks from previously released albums. The titles of the individual CDs are "Letting the World Go By", "Wrapped in Stillness", and "Quiet Days".The collection is designed to promote and enhance the healing of "our mental, emotional, and spiritual selves". The pace is leisurely, and the sounds wash over the listener like a cozy blanket or the warmth of the springtime sun. Featured artists include 2002, Kevin Kern, Paul Machlis, Bernard L'Hoir, Danny Wright, the late Hilary Stagg, Govi, Michael Hoppe, and Tim Wheater. While calming and quiet, most of the pieces have enough sparkle to keep the albums very interesting in the foreground as well as creating a lovely backdrop for other activities or simply unwinding. Piano, harp, flute, and keyboards make up most of the instrumentation. This a wonderful collection, and I highly recommend it for music to unwind to or simply to pamper yourself a little.

4 comments about Relax With Ocean Surf/Sounds Of Everglades/Golden Pond.

  1. I have owned a relax recording of this type for a good while and like it.
The sounds of a pond are accompanied by ocarina music. Lovely.
I imagined that Relax with Ocean Surf/Sounds of Everglades . . . would be
like that, i.e., have music accompaniment. Only the "Everglades" CD
has music, and it is rather dull, droning music.

  2. The sounds on this 3 special packaged cd's all in one, are so relaxing, they make you feel as though you are right on the beach, everglades, and surrounded by water, they are so awesome!!!

  3. How soothing! The ocean, to me, is symbolic of Mother Nature cradling and rocking us with the ocean rocking chair. I can close my eyes and be at the ocean, river, or just a complete place of solitude when I listen to the CDs in this set.

  4. I loved the set. They were all very soothing and realistic. I especially love the ocean one. It's very pretty and can put you to sleep in almost 15 minutes, if that's what you're aiming for.

5 comments about Trilogy.

  1. I would have paid $27 just to own the song "Prism of Life" it is simply as good a song as can be written. I can't stop playing it over and over again.

  2. I first became interested in Enigma about 6 weeks ago. Yes, thats all. I found out about them VIA Frank Petersons works (Producer for Sarah Brightman, composer) and immediately bought this trilogy when I saw it in Melbourne.
Basically not knowing what it would be like, I lay down and entered into the world of Enigma. I don't think I've been back since!

Enigma draws in the listener, much like Lord of the Rings immerses the reader. Enigma is spiritual, medieval, tribal and all round wonderful. As soon as I heard "The Voice of Enigma" and "Sadeness," on MCMXCa.D, I was captivated and then it got even better with "Mea Culpa" and "River of belief."

The second disc (Cross of Changes), has more timeless songs including the excellent "Silent Warrior" "The eyes of Truth," "I love you ... I'll Kill you" and "Return to Innocence" and these were really special. This one is more tribal, less Gregorian style and it took me a while to get used to as I love the good old Gregorian stuff, but still, it prepared me for disc 3 (Le Roi Est Mort Vive le Roi!) which, I have to agree is like the cross between the two, and I loved this album! I'm not going to list these, as every track is very, very good.

I love to listen to Enigma on my discman at nightime, that way I slip into another world as I'm falling asleep, thats how they want it to be, and thats how its meant to be.
You know I loved ENIGMA TRILOGY that much, that after that, I bought "The Screen behind the Mirror"(fourth album) and "Love Sensuality, Devotion" (the best of Enigma) and this is all in the space of about a month. Looking forward to the new Enigma album "Voyager" very soon!, I'm an Enigma fan now and forever, The voice of Enigma screams: BUY ME!

  3. Really worth the price.
I got ENIGMA TRILOGY and TRILOGY FANTASY in one package. my happiness that day was in that package I got. So relaxing, powerful, and energizing music.

The song I liked at most is "4. BEYOND THE INVISIBLE" (third CD) this song is so powerful and energizing (Just like alot of other songs within this collection).

I'm sure almost all of you heard of "ENIGMA" and familiar with the type of music ENIGMA represents.
Well, listen to this, If you like this type of music just get this CD plus FANTASY TRILOGY and you'll definitely find happiness. However, If you never tried this type of music before then it's time to try it. It might be your new love.

  4. A great New Age experience from Michael Cretu and wife Sandra.

  5. This box set contains Enigmas first three albums all packed in one. All three of the albums are worth owning and spending the tons of money on.

MCMXC is a dark, moody album with a Gothic medievel mood.

Cross Of Changes is much brighter with little of the Gregorian Chants and in their place is more of a Native American, Aboriginal mood.

Enigma 3: Le Roi Est Mort Vive Le Roi! is like the child of the previous two albums with the Gregorian Gothic sounds of MCMXC but with the daytime feel of Cross Of Changes and overall with a more of an aquatic feel and a whole different sound altogether from my perspective.

All three albums are worth owning.
