- It's not just for kids! Originally checked this out from the library. My kids were THRILLED when I actually purchased it. It makes me realize why I love musicals -- they're usually upbeat and happy and everything works out in the end. I wish there were more of them out there to be enjoyed.
- One after another these songs by original artists are outstanding and deliver a positive message as well. Our 2 year old's favorite cd, and we love it too!
- omg, I love this CD, I listen to it all the time! I don't know why it's called a 'child's' celebration of broadway, when it's really for everyone! My fav songs are come Follow the Band and You've Gotta Have Heart.
- I love this CD and listen to it even when my toddler isn't around. Mary Martin's version of 'I Got the Sun in the Morning and the Moon at Night' is just fantastic. It's the kind of music you WANT your kids to grow up listening to! Listen to all the Music for Little People CDs ... you can't go wrong with them.
- I think complilations like these are really what people want to listen to . With attention spans so short these days, there's nothing like being able to sample delicious treats from bygone eras. Hurrah.

- This is definitely not what I expected in a classical music tape, but still a surprisingly enjoyable to listen to. I bought it for my 4 year old who loves to listen to what he calls "kid's songs" and hoped that it wouldn't totally annoy my older children. This one is a winner, though, ALL the kids (ages 2 to 11) really like it. Bobby McFerrin's Music Box is really quite amazing and you appreciate his talent the more you listen to it (although I would never have guessed this was classical music.) The water music rendition is equally fun. My only complaint is that Gerald McBoing is waaaay too long, but still it fascinated the kids so I guess it's worth it! The variety of music contained on the tape keeps it fresh.
- Kids will eat this up! The selection of readers and singers are brilliant. Not only will the stories entertain children but they will learn from a young age that classical dosn't mean boring! Danny Kaye is one of my favorite people. His voice has always captured me somehow. I have seen my siblings listen in amazement to Boby McFerrin's amazing "voice". His portrayel of a music box is highly impressive. The way this CD combines the old with the new, the humorous with the soothing, and the music with the story telling, leaves me feeling up-lifted and calm. A complete must-have for children and adults alike!

- I bought this for my kids but ended up listening to it over and over. Ted Jacob's is an amazing musician who surrounds himself with equally talented people. Great melodies beautifully arranged. This is a unique, totally original collection.
- We found this tucked in a basket at the library and haven't taken it out of the cd player since.
Peaceful. Lovely. Sweet. Charming.
HIGHLY recommended.
- These songs are so exquisitely crafted that any music lover would like this album.
- My year old triplets received this CD as a birthday gift. I didn't play it right away because I thought it was another classical music cd of which we have several...I was so pleasantly surprised by this CD. My babies just love it, dancing and clapping to the songs. We play it all the time and are not tired of it yet. In fact I am here today buying a copy as a baby gift.
- This cd is one of my favorites. It's a great way to have your children learn poetry and they don't even know it! Adults enjoy it just as much as the kids (or maybe even more!)

5 comments about Toddlers Sing Playtime.
- I agree 100% with "A toy enthusiast's" 12/9/02 review dated December 9, 2002.....Although the song selection and overall idea of children singing are good, the CD is extremely annoying because the children sing in "Little-Rascals-Alfalfa-like" voices, often with manufactured-sounding speech impediments.
- We received this CD as a gift when expecting our baby. While we certainly appreciate the thought behind the gift, as the songs on the CD are good and the idea of children singing the songs is good, the CD is unfortunately quite annoying. First, the children do not sing with their natural singing voices. Instead, almost every one of them affects an annoying, Little-Rascals-Alfalfa-like voice. Second, ninety-nine percent of the solos are sung by children with real or affected speech impediments. I have nothing against children with speech impediments, but I don't think their singing is any cuter than that of children without speech impediments. In fact, since my child is just learning to speak and sing, I would prefer that he hear the singing of children without speech impediments, so that he is not confused about how to say or sing certain words. I would think that this would be helpful for children with speech impediments, as well. It is too bad that these two things make the CD so annoying, because the songs selection is good otherwise.
- We got this tape in a library pack for a long road trip. We had a geat time singing all the songs - they are really wonderful. The little kids voices can be pretty irritating (really irritating at times!) but the fun wins out.
- Vapid/obnoxoius lyrics which in some cases are NOT age appropriate for young children. One exapmle:
Cindarella, dressed in yellow Went upstairs to kiss her fella How many kisses did it take? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, more . . . Please do yourself a favor ans skip this tape. do the rest of the world a favor and buy and destroy any copies you find at retail. It really is that annoying!
- We love this CD! My one-year-old son and three-year-old daughter have a great time dancing every day to it. My daughter knows all the words. The kids on the CD are so funny and still make me chuckle. I would recommend Toddlers Sing Playtime to any one who has energetic kids who love to dance.

5 comments about Big Blues: Blues Music for Kids.
- My toddler likes the music on this CD. When I first heard it, I wasn't sure it would go over well---my husband is not crazy about the music---but my 2 year old likes it! The songs are catchy and the music is nice and easy listening.
- This is great blues music!! My husband and I love it just as much as the kids and we play it even when they're not around.
- This is a GREAT cd. My 2 year old has never liked being in the car so I've been listening to elmo, bear & pooh for 2 years. That's fine, it's fun, but this is a wonderful change of pace - she loves it & so do I! Especially pancake man :-) Done in a blues style VERY much like blues music for adults, but with lyrics little ones can understand and enjoy. To the gentleman who didn't think it was authentic enough blues...I bet B.B. and the rest of the crew on this cd would beg to differ...as does my family.
- This is a great CD! The music is more adult like but the lyrics are directed to kids. Fishin' Blues and Flying Lessons are excellent!
- I wanted a good cd to accompany Buckwheat Zydeco in my sons collection. With the starpower that this cd's artists have, I was expecting much more. The songs would be good if the arrangements were less candy coated and more gritty and more like the guitar driven blues that my son loves.Buckwheat Zydeco is the lone bright spot on the disc. I only wish I could return it to get a different disc but instead, it is a drink coaster for a sipper cup. over and out

4 comments about Smilin' Island of Song.
- This CD has the feel of a 12 year old going to visit their grandmother in the islands and hearing all of the stories and songs that go with it. It's so full of love, fun and knowledge, it just feels like a big musical hug. A warning, there is a lot of talking on the disc as "Mother B" explains the upcoming song, but that's actually the fun of it. There's lots of info on the CD, giving the child a nice image of island life, while also giving a mello combo of calypso and reggae music. Overall, the music is wonderfully warm and enjoyable while hearing Cedella Marley tell island tales completes the package.
- I first purchased this cassette as a Young Teacher working in Early Childhood Education. The Music for Little People's Series has never failed me, and I love reggae. Many years later, this is still a favorite of mine, and now my daughter's (almost 2)and of My Center's ( 111 children at a NAEYC accreditated facility!) I have tested it on Hundreds of children ages 6 weeks through 6 Years and always seen swaying happy children enjoying the music. You can't go wrong with this one!
- The tracks are so well that I never thought that it was really the CD that I ordered, because I ordered it with the Love and trust that I have on the Artist herself not that I heared it play before and its really the right taste for my kid, she is turning 12months on the 19/02/99.
- I bought this CD because I want my 16month old child to have an awareness and appreciation for the folk songs of the caribbean. This CD is a good start. Our favorite tracks are Tingalaya, Chi Chi Buddo, Elena, Sweet Guava Jelly, Banana Boat and Brown Girl In The Ring. I would recommend this CD for it's rythym, melody, authenticity and lack of pretense.

- What a great CD! I have the first one and like this one just as much if not more (haven't heard it 100+ times yet) The CD I have is in such poor shape I decided to shop for a new one. Highly recommend.
- My 3-year-old son absolutely loves this CD. I got it on a whim, because it's hard to find good kids' music. Luckily, this one's a winner. In fact, all the "Child's Celebration" CDs are worth a listen. We dance to this one almost every night.
- The songs on this CD were okay, but we prefered the first CD, Celebration of Song. Two of the songs on this CD were good, especially Inchworm. However, one tune was rap...and we didn't like it at all.
- This is a great album (we have the cassette version). Appealing to both kids and parents, it's a fun mix of silly, upbeat songs (Choo Choo Boogaloo and Bananaphone) and slower, more sentimental tunes (Inchworm, All the Pretty Little Ponies) that stay with you long after you're finished listening. My 7-month-old loves it, and he's patient enough to let me listen to it over and over again! It's kids stuff with a sophisticated twist. I'd also recommend the Music For Little People Lullaby Album, it's super-sweet and the mix of songs is really unique.

5 comments about Cajun for Kids.
- Thoroughly enjoyable music for children that the whole family will enjoy. As a teacher, I find it lively, interesting, captivating for kids, good short explanations given between tracks, and a surprise undisclosed track at the end with demonstrations of Cajun instruments and their names. Highly recommend it !
- My 4 year old daughter who has never lived in Louisiana loves this CD immediately, and within minutes, she starts to sing along. The earthy cheerful attitude spreading with the dynamic music with funny narratives could certainly bring me back the good old memory of the cypress country.
- This is upbeat fun music. It teaches a little bit about the Cajun culture as well. It is just the best, most sing along, most movement inducing cd. Our whole family loves it. It is a great cd for long trips because the songs are easy to learn and fun to sing.
- My kids (5, 4, 2) love listening and dancing to Papillion's music. We saw him live at a mini-concert and bought the CD there. The stories between the songs on the CD are very interesting, and maybe after the kids start wearing the CD out, they may become old -- but what a great way to cary-on the Cajun tradition of storytelling (and most of the stories are about 1 minute or less anyway).
This would be a great gift for your own kids or even a friend's child to introduce cajun music and cajun storytelling.
- My kids (ages 4 1/2 and 6 1/2)and I just love this CD. We listen to it on drives all the time. We all sing along. The narrations between songs are very interesting. They've helped my children learn something about the Cajun heritage. I highly recommend this if you want something different and fun. But then again, my kids also enjoy the Beatles and Santana so they enjoy a wide variety of quality musical styles.

- this is a great story. I grew up hearing about Lolo since he was a friend of my mom'm many years ago.
- A wonderful imaginary and silly story of a Mexican-American family traveling to Mexico in a flying balloon to celebrate Papa Lalo's birthday. The versions of "La Bamba", 'Wooly Bully", and "Cielito Lindo" are great on this CD and the narration between songs adds a lot to this CD. A little bit of Spanish is a plus to follow the narration. You should listen to this CD from the beginning to the end, do not try to shuffle this CD, otherwise, you would miss the main theme of the album.
We have been playing this CD for the last six years and we still enjoy it.
- Asa long time fan of Los Lobos I had to buy this CD and what a wonderful surprise this little gem was. I highly recommend it to Los Lobos fans and lovers of Latin music. It's a fun, light collection of songs.
- It was nice to find this collection of music that isn't just "baby songs". We can put this in on a drive and not regret getting the songs stuck in our heads all day. They are shortened versions of classic Los Lobos songs and the story is cute and helps little ones learn some Spanish words and phrases. Highly recommended!
- Los Lobos teams up with Lalo Guerrero to take children on an extraordinary adventure and musical tour. I don't know who has enjoyed this CD more -- my children or their parents! We've been trying to learn Spanish as a family, and this has been a wonderful, fun supplement to our language lessons. Some of the songs are in English, but many are in Spanish, and all the lyrics are helpfully printed in the liner notes.

- I have used this album since I first taught kindergarten 16 years ago! I've played it for 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and all love the songs. I've used the cassette all these years and have to buy the CD because my tape broke! I couldn't live without it.
- This was one of my first CD's when I was little. I can remember dancing around in circles for hours to the wonderful songs. While I hadn't seen all the movies that the songs came from when I was 6, listening to them early on helped develop my love for them. They remain among my favorite songs and movies. They inspire optimism and silliness, which I believe we do not encourage children to embrace enough today. Besides they are classics everyone should know.
- Every child should have this CD if not for it's content (it's grrreat!) then for its "historical" value in exposing them to some of the musicals their parents grew up with. I wish there were more CDs like this - I would own them all. The only down-side is there are no accompanying lyrics but at least there's an address you can use to request them (free). Excellent!
- My 4year old daughter loves it! She plays it over and over. I must admit, it is fun to hear her singing the songs from musicals I grew up with. It is something that we can enjoy together and that she enjoys by herself as well.
- My toddler loves music and this is OUR favorite CD. I love show tunes and these are great selections for kids. I appreciate the fact that the songs are sung by the broadway casts. I know that kids like to hear other kids sing, but sometimes mom needs a break from those cheerful, slightly off-key kids choruses.
