  1. When I want to listen to one of my favorite live recordings from one of my favorite bands,I pop this little gem in. What an awesome set! This set has all of your (and mine) favorite Supersuckers tunes! Hell this is worth the price of admission for the cover of Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak alone! Singer Eddie Spaghetti drops litte nuggets of pure rock ingenuity on this here album as well. Listen to the whole album in it's entirety, and you will here why the Supersuckers are the Rock n Roll world's gift to all of us-the PEOPLE OF IMPECCABLE TASTE!

  2. The Supersuckers are even crazier live than on their studio albums, and this disc is a great substitute for being there in person. Even though I've yet to see the Supersuckers live, I have been to the venue where this was recorded (in the Detroit area). It's a little small, so this disc is low on raucous crowd noise, but the band rocks out with ferocity and Eddie Spaghetti's stage banter is some of the kookiest in the business. The band's beer-soaked riffs and bluesy grooves totally rock the house, especially after a warm-up period at the start of the set. The highlights of this show are brutal renditions of "The Evil Powers of Rock n' Roll," "Creepy Jackalope Eye" and "My Victim." The middle of the set slows down a little, not withstanding some solo work by new drummer Mike Murderburger (who by the way has kept the Supersuckers rolling along without delay). But rest assured that the band quickly returns to full power with fierce takes on "Fisticuffs" and "How to Maximize Your Kill Count." Also check out the killer cover of "Jailbreak" in the fake encore. These guys may not be world famous (yet), but they're perfect for in-the-know fans who like rollicking songs about beer fights and killing people. [~doomsdayer520~]

  3. So I thought I was buying the Supersuckers DVD, but I accidentally ordered this little jewel by mistake (Imagine my surprise when I put it in the DVD player and nothing happened).

Still, I was a little bummed that I didn't get the DVD but I decided to give it a whirl anyway. Let me just say, that I usually really don't care for live albums, but this one is frickin' fabulous. I mean, this thing seriously rules. I saw the 'suckers a few times on their last tour, and this record was a faithful reproduction of the smashing good time I had at their shows. It sounds lame, but it was actually 'like I was there'. I would highly recommend this to any Supersuckers fan, or anyone who is interested in getting to know them by hearing some of their best material. The sound quality and production are excellent as well, I applaud whoever did the recording, mixing and mastering on this one, truly well done.

  4. This live album is the closest you can get to capturing the magic of a live supersucker show. Which makes the name of the album appropriate. Eddie Spaghetti's banter is one of the best to ever grace the rock n roll stage. he'll have you laughing your ass off one minute and without warning slashes into a kick ass rock song that is hellishly ballzy. I have been a supersucker fan for years and the way the suckers have things worked out with their label, touring, and recording- it looks like I'll be a fan for many, many more years. ~ kado~

  5. Not only do they deliver [...] kicking Rock, but they make it seem so effortless and fun as hell. If rock is your thing, then this is your live cd. With great songs from their 15 yr career and a few selected covers, the boys keep the spirit of real rock alive.

  1. Marillion are standards of the prog-rock movement. If you like Genesis, Rush, Yes, Crimson, you're a Marillion fan. And why not, albums like Misplaced Childhood and Clutching at Straws were runaway hits in the early 80's. With a new vocalist on board, The Marillios set out to tuneup their sound, and they succeeded. Concept albums like Brave and Afraid of Sunlight created a new ambient quality to their music so that even the stuff that really rocked could be listened to when not up at its loudest (is that a good thing?). This capture of the band in the early and mid-90's during a European tour is fun to listen to, but it lacks real energy. Whether because of recording difficulties, or perhaps masking done after the shows themselves were recorded, there is little that distinguishes Marillion live heard on this from Marillion in the studio. A few quirks--mostly by singer Steve Hogarth, add to the picture, but it's the same. CD2 is the band playing the album Brave in its entirety live in Paris. Brave is one of the band's best, most cutting edge recordings, and hearing it played live is a lot of fun. But the album doesn't capture the energy of a live show as perhaps it should. So, Marillion fans-it's worth it. But if you want to hear the band for the first time, get a studio CD. You'll become a fan. Then you can buy this one.

  1. The boys at Punk Core Records put this gem out only to meet threats from the UTV people over the use of the title and artwork. It was put out in very short release and pulled. Some confusion existed as well over the content as well as most thought the CD was completely live. It is not, think of it as 50/50. Half studio compiled hit singles tracks and the other half the NYC gig. Get this while you still can and avoid the Bleeker Bob overpriced e-bay rip offs that are waiting on the sidelines. Too bad UTV had to get involved and cut this releases life short!

  1. This album is the very first album and the very first band that Brian Setzer played in. He may not be the vocalist, but he still is very awesome at what he does...play a guitar like nobody else. The one complaint that I have is that he plays on a fender instead of a gretsch. Otherwise, they sound the doors with more of a blusy, kind of feel to them. I recommend this album to the fans of Brian Setzer for it is a piece of history that is rare because it is out of print.

  1. Because it's from the last ever Killdozer show. This line up was so good - twin axe attack (1 of them is supposedly a born again christian now) and the drummer from Die Kreuzen. Memories of their show at Coney Island High from this tour make me weep knowing I will never see Killdozer play again.

Console yourself with Mighty High...In Drug City.

  2. I saw these guys at a free show at Rhino Records & they were so drunk they managed to play about 4 songs between messing about with their instruments. I loved it. The best sloppy redneck punkslopband ever to exist. Recommended

  3. I was at this show at the Unicorn in Milwaukee. It was AWESOME and sad. It was the end of an era.

  4. every killdozer release has always been a horrendous special occasion.if you like music designed to mess up your soul-full volume-guitar wacking-throat screaming-nothing sacred joke band.all the lyrics are worth remembering....their sound is unique... if you like killdozer this c.d. will be pleasure.most these songs are on previous releases.but the 1st notes of porky's dad-this rocks real hard.i like loud & out of kilter rock.-doesn't get much crazier.you could use this as starter point for any killdozer initiation. ...the live versions are worth hearing...plus a couple new classics. this is easier to listen to than a lot of the slop i'm exposed to-it's raw-fun-hard-universal-& a great last opus.a band with a sense of humor-they were live band-so this picks up some of their best moments.i'd put this in my top 20 live c.d. recording.

  5. I like the part where that guy, you know, he does that thing with the monkey wrench that makes his mom sick, and she you know she says something to him about it after dinner, only he doesn't speak Italian so he pretty much has to take her word for it so he blows up their rice paddy with seven sticks of dynamite and the collected works of Vonnegut... yeah, that part was BADASS...

  1. When I was in High School, somebody made me a tape of this album, which I loved and which got eaten up by my tape player, and later my Mom discovered I had developed an obsession with Punk Rock music and said I shouldn't buy anymore. Now, all these years later, she has gotten into the Ramones and other punk herself! I bought her this CD for Mother's Day last year and downloaded it to my iPod. Boy, does it bring back memories! I am sorry that the Ramones were not together during the time that I knew their music, because I would have LOVED to have attended one of their concerts. Gabba Gabba Hey!

  2. first, the track list is definately amazing. johnny, joey, marky and cj all sound great, even though the speed takes some charm away from the rocket to russia tracks, i can live with it. lets see, this show definately made me feel for joey. on some songs, he seemingly gets lost and rather "blahs" out the lyrics or has to have cj back him, but joey was suffering a great deal at this point i believe. i cannot hear the crowd that well as a live show may be. who knows, the crowd may have been drowned out or something. nothing too big. anyways, buy this! it has excellent energy!

anyways, i dont think it was bad considering they had been touring since they started and joey was freakin dying! the ramones dont get enough slack for anything.

my only large gripe: why..oh why..did they make "any way you want it featuring eddie vedder" the last song of the show? why have eddie vedder sing the majority of their LAST song of their LAST show? they could have done something better to close their final show. i dont want to grow up would've been nicer as the last song.

  3. This is a CD and a video tape documenting the Ramones last concert. The CD presents the concert in it's entirety, while the video shows clips from the concert, but is really a documentary about the Ramones entire career. The Ramones already released several concert albums, so why release another one? Well, this is their last concert, so that gives it added significance. Plus, there are several guest performers at this concert, although the CD oddly doesn't say which guests are on which songs. It is a typical solid show from the group. As for the video, it does a good job of documenting the group's career, with plenty of interviews and performance clips. Ramones fans will enjoy this package.

  4. Maybe you can tell by the song selection or the title, but this is the exact same cd you got in the "We're Outta Here" collection, just without the video. All the artwork is the same as well, so if you have "We're Outta Here", you really should save your money unless you really have to collect everything. If you don't have their last show on cd, this would have to be it, since "We're Outta Here" seems to be out of stock (at least as i'm writing this).
Not really being a fan of the later, faster live Ramones, I still gave it 4 stars cause the songs are great, & I like the cool guest stars.

  5. The video and cd are a must have for any Ramones fan. If your a fan of rock and roll this is a must have. I am a recent Ramones fan and these guys really know how to rock. Reminds me of being at school dance back a few years ago(30+years ago) loud fast and very raw. But that is what makes them more appealing!! They will live forever in their music. The video show you just how real they where not [faux] like many rock and roll stars are.

  1. Johnny Thunders being recorded is excellent. Actually attending a Thunders show was riveting. Listening to one of these horrible sounding bootlegs is ridiculous.

Because he was such an enigma, record companies with normal equipment did not officially record his shows. I believe that most of these recordings are just recycled bootlegs from the cassettes that have been floating around for almost three decades.

Great songs here but very frustrating to listen to.

I guess the response to that would be that these recordings are the only documentation of his live work. As a consumer, it is frustrating to listen to these second rate recordings on today's digital technology

  2. To use a cliche:'This show rocks'. johnny, jerry, sylvain, and billy are alive and kicking and playing to a very receptive audience. This is musicaly the tightest Thunders show i've ever heard. Throughout the show Thunders is coherent and witty as opposed to stupid and stoned. There are a lot of nice suprises too. Sylvains '14th Street Beat' and 'Size 10 Shoes',Thunders rare original 'Have Faith', covers of The Stones 'Wild Horses'(!)Play With Fire','West Coast Promo Man'/'Spider and the Fly' are all interesting. Now the bad news. The bass is too loud ! the acoustic segment sounds ambiant. Eno would love it. Otherwise I recommend this disc.

  3. This former bootleg isn't bad. Johnny is in fine form. The sound quality is OK--better than most. The late John has a receptive, if not slavish, audience, and tries to give a great performance. Recommended.

  4. Of the million or so Thunders' live albums, CD's, videos, and cassettes, this one sounds good, has some excellent backing vocals and guitars from Sylvain Sylvain, and even sounds good on most stereos. Of the forty or so live CD's I have of Thunders, this is the one I would recommend if you want a live CD of his. For the studio side of things it's best to go to the So Alone listing.
