- this is really one of the best records i have ever listened to. being a great fan of punk and ska music i totally love the bouncing souls! i have all their cd's and they just keep getting better. (probably notin the right order): bouncing souls, maniacal laughter, hopeless romantic and how i spent my summer vacation. fight to live is one of my most favorite songs, next to wish me well (the ultimate break-up song)and hopeless romantic. kee up the good work!

- This isn't a flawless set- the performance of Corduroy is lyrically flubbed, and Betterman is unremarkable, without the 'tags' that lend the songs personality live. However, I have yet to find a flawless Pearl Jam bootleg, and for those who collect them obsessively (like myself), there are few better from this tour. Several of the songs off Binaural are treated to passionate and spot-on renditions, most notably God's Dice, Grievance, and Insignificance. Several of the band's best live cuts, such as Release, RVM, and Evenflow, are also strong, backed by a packed Allstate Arena crowd. The show ends with a great performance of Baba O' Riley, with Ed exhorting the crowd to sing along- as if they needed the encouragement.
If you're only going to buy one bootleg from this tour, make it #72, the tour ender in Seattle. If you're getting any more, make this one a priority.
- Pearl Jam put together an incredible show for their Chicago performance. Coming off a show that nearly froze them and their fans in Wisconsn, and forced them to wrap things up early, the band went all out in Chicago. Eddie Vedder makes reference to the weather, although vaguely, early on, and promises to play for a while in Chicago.
Whoever was working the sound board for this recording did an excellent job. Each member of the band is captured vividly. The crowd noise is just about perfect for this live recording. Their voices accompany Eddie at just the right volume in songs such as 'Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town', 'Release', 'Betterman', 'Black', and 'Baba O'Riley'. The audience participation goes a long way towards capturing the energy of the show. One of the highlights on the album was accomplished when the band played 'Lukin' as an intro for 'Not For You'. They didn't miss a beat, and the crowd, revved up by the break neck speed of 'Lukin', carried the energy right into the rebellious 'Not For You'. Although I don't all the official bootlegs from Pearl Jams last tour, I do own several. This is among the highlights of the tour.
- This is the best official bootleg that I have heard so far. I have about 20 of them and this is definately a stand out. The band is obviously energetic and play great.
- Longer than most of their shows, this two-cd set captures the love that Pearl Jam has for their fans. The previous night's show, in East Troy, WI, was intensely cold (as Eddie details on the cd). Since they shortened that show to prevent themselves and their fans dying from hypothermia, Pearl Jam made the next show a long one. The whole thing covers a huge chunk of Pearl Jam's catalog of work and includes a few covers. If you are looking for live music from Pearl Jam, this set is about the largest continuous chunk you're going to find.
- Disclaimer: Owner of all 72 official PJ bootlegs. Not including the final show in Seattle, which contains a lot of extra stage talk, this gig in Chicago is the longest entry in the American portion of the 2000 bootleg series. Apparently Pearl Jam decided to make up for the previous night, an extremely cold outdoor gig in Wisconsin that they had to wrap up early before they froze to death. As an added bonus, this show manages to justify its huge length, giving the crowd an extra-long dose of prime intensity. The dependable set list includes a few pleasant surprises, like a majestic opener in "Release," plus the welcome rarities "Red Mosquito" and "In Hiding." Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament keep things moving tonight, giving some of their personal best performances of the tour, especially in "Gods' Dice," "Jeremy," and a better-than-usual "Even Flow." The Man Trilogy ("Betterman" to "Leatherman" to "Nothingman") mellows out the middle of the evening effectively, while "Parting Ways" and "Rearviewmirror" close the first and second sets in convincing and dramatic fashion. If you're looking to buy only a few of these Pearl Jam bootlegs, this one is not one of the most incredible in the series (in the eyes of a die-hard fanatic), but is a great example of a solid and intense performance by a great rock band that is still knockin `em dead after all these years.

- This has what might be essential material for collectors, otherwise it is mediocre. The vocals are too prominent and the backing music blurred. This is a radio broadcast so its not really "live" either if that's what you're looking for, its just rougher. The early tracks are the more interesting. The second album also has momements of interest. The 1990 concert is obviously when they were past their prime. Definitely not a starting point.
- Furs tracks in their less-produced incarnations, as most BBC radio shows were done in one take. To me, this was worth every penny just for the radio session of "All of This and Nothing". I've always loved the Talk Talk Talk version with the droning guitar in the background, and this version adds ghost-like synths instead. This disc gave a new perspective to songs I'd heard hundreds of times.
- I am a giant Furs fan and had the opprtunity to meet them at an earth day concert in Gainesville, FL, USA in April 1990. This album contains some intriguing variations of the standards. However, if you are a fan of the mainstream Butler bros./John Ashton releases this is not for you. The tunes "We Love You", "Soap Commercial" and "Susan's Strange" are classic early Furs in a garage setting. The other songs are, of course great, but not polished up by production. But that's what makes them that much more treasured by the true Furs fan.

4 comments about Darkness Forever! Between the Lines in Hamburg and Oslo!.
- This is by far one of my favorite live albums. Great set of songs. The only real problem I have with it is that the copy I bought in on of the local stores around my house, only has the first 15 tracks. I don't know if I got jipped, or if Amazon has just simply made a type o.
This is a great album to introduce yourself to Turbonegro. If you enjoy it, I reccomend getting Apacolypse Dudes and Ass Cobra. And if you really like it, maybe Scandinavian Leather.
- You couldn't be there, so hear it like you were. This is a warts and all document of two shows before Hank's breakdown. For a band so close to the edge, they were sharp as a knife. Fantastic recording of a fantastic band. My only complaint would be that Euroboy is not loud enough in some parts, so the solos don't slice like they should. If you've already got all the other albums, there's no reason you shouldn't have this one.
- Having all their other albums up till the point this one came out, with Ass Cobra as a clear fav, I had some expectations. Ah, but no. The sound is so incredibly bad, that it makes Ass Cobra sound polished, which I'm sorry to say is not a good thing, their version of "I got Erection" lame beyond belief and quite frankly, if you're there and @##%ed up on various stimuli, then it is rather cool to listen to the moronic stage patter, but dead sober it is just right down embarrising listening to Hertis (the lead singer) shouting the Norwegian word for, you know the pleasure center of women, for 5 minutes. Ah well they can't all be as good as Ramones' Its Alive, but this bad??? Come on!!!!
- If you're reading this, you probably already know how great this band is. Live album from last few dates of European tour before they broke up (again). Amazingly, they sound better (and rougher) live than in the studio. Most of the songs are from "Apocalypse Dudes" but there are a few from "Ass Cobra". Unfortunately, nothing from their early days. Nonetheless, a great live album. Vinyl version comes with extra songs, limited edition poster and artwork.

1 comments about Live Fron the Middle East.
- Possibly the BossToneS' best album. "Live From the Middle East" features some of the BossToneS best songs all the way from "Devil's Night out" to "Let's Face it". If you miss the older style of the ToneS yet crave the newer styles, this is the best option for you. Somehow, this CD manages to cpture the excitement and overall calamity of a BossToneS concert. Pumping out hardcore riffs and softer ska melodies with unexpected blasts of horns, "Live From the Middle East" is a must-have for any fan of The Mighty Mighty BossToneS.
