- SLF have produced many live albums over the years ranging from the superb Fly the Flags and Hanx to the weaker Greatest Hits Live. This particular album is different in that it merely presents live versions of almost all the tracks from arguably their finest album, Go for It. Many of these songs are captured live for the only time here. The energy of the group's live performances is obvious and this is an interesting moment in the group's development because they are beginning to move away from their traditional punk format. An excellent collection but probably more aimed at the hardened SLF fan than the uninitiated.
- Although not the greatest quality in the world, This compact disc is almost everything you would expect from SLF. I couldn't give it a four however because of Jake Burns' pitiful way of talking to the audience between songs. Well worth the money for all of the power behind the punk rock scene.

- I'm sorry, but I see both sides of the issue between Jello and the rest of the band. Saw Jello speaking live in Seattle 7 years ago, and saw DK with the substitute singer in Tucson a year later. I had to give this 4 stars just because I find a live DK, with all its blemishes and better points, as worthwhile. I don't care about the fighting between the two factions.
- Hey, to everyone who thinks the former DK members lawsuit against Jello was the wrong thing to do, what do you think Jello was doing with all the money he has made off all these albums over the years? He made several hundred thousand dollars and didn't give any of the other band members any money! It sounds like Jello was cashing in to me. Now, about them using the DK name and playing without Jello sounds totally ridiculous to me, the bottom line is Jello ripped them off bigtime. Come on, man. I am a drummer and if I played on an album that sold like DK's stuff, I would want my share. Why should Jello get to keep all that money? And as far as this album is concerned, it sounds okay for what it is. It could have been better, could have been worse. Enuff said...
- I love the Dead kennedys. They are my favorite band. This live album is pretty good too. The performance is a little rough around the edges though. They probably have better live albums out there, but this one is fun to listen too once in a while. "Too Drunk To F**K" is probably the best. The first 7 tracks don't have good sound quality. It gradually sounds better towards the end. "Holiday in Cambodia" and "Police truck" sound pretty damn bad unfortunately.
- I bought this album because I have never been lucky enough to get my hands on a bootleg. I wish I would have tried a lot harder to get one now. It's also difficult to resist the urge to buy a "new" DK album-especially when, like me, you were too young to get the opportunity in the 80's. The most notable songs are rather mediocre on this album, so my favorites on "Mutiny" would have to be "This Could Be Anywhere", "I Am the Owl" and "Riot." Jello always managed to keep the songs timeless with his live takes, and it's a shame the new singer can't at least do the so without the same level of creativity. It is obvious how this whole lawsuit/Manifesto/reunion thing came about when you look to the solo efforts of the other members too. I would especially recommend a good long look at Klaus' "The Light is Flickering",or Ray's "Sex is Sex" before anyone goes defending them. I saw Peligro at Social Chaos Tour in Lawrence,KS in 1999 and they were good live, but the albums didn't have the same resonance (plus all he talked about was being the drummer for DK, even wore a DK shirt-geez move on! Meanwhile he was suing his former frontman over money! Way to carry on the legacy!). This album, like any other DK release, is worth having-as long as you can sleep at night knowing who you're supporting. It's the same feeling you get drinking a Coke after you hear stuff about them assassinating union leaders in South America...diirrrty!
- Full title:'Mutiny On The Bay-Dead Kennedys Live! From The San Francisco Bay Area'.Apparently, former vocalist Jello Biafra had lost a lengthy court battle to block the release of 'Mutiny...',the one of just two legit live Dead Kennedy archive performanes. This fourteen track CD was pulled from four(4)different live shows that took place in 1982 and 1986,which is 'strung' together as one.I LIKE that in a live release.Overall, just great body slammin' all American punk.Tunes that did it for me were "Holiday In Cambodia",the in-your-face "Moon Over Marin",the radical "MTV-Get Off The Air","Too Drunk To F**k" and "Hell Nation".Line-up:Biafra-vocals,East Bay Ray-guitar,Klaus Flouride-bass and D.H.Peligro-drums.A must-have for any and all true fans of 'angry/misguided' punk.Should appeal to fans Minor Threat,Black Flag,T.S.O.L.,Circle Jerks and The Germs.

- This is a great CD for those into the early Stranglers stuff.
I saw them live back in the 70's & this CD brought back the memory of those cookin' shows. Excellent versions of all the classics especially "Burning Up Time". A must for fans of the early Stranglers pre "la Folie" LP.
- Probably the best bit of these sessions is the marriage of Nuclear Device and Genetix. But I have to say, these aren't nearly as good as the studio versions (especially Goodbye Toulouse). One the other hand, the liner notes do put the sessions in an interesting context about what they were trying to convey on John Peel's show. Still, I would suggest looking at the songs listed here and getting the studio albums on which they originally appear.
- I've had this for years, and thought it was good all the way through, but I've recently become more drawn to the '82 session tracks i.e. the final three. The Nuclear Device / Genetix medley works OK, but if you have "Rattus Norvegicus" or any live album with "Down in the Sewer" in it, then get this. You will not hear a sweeter, cleaner version of this song anywhere else, so far as I know. The instruments are almost perfectly balanced, and Jet's drumming is beautiful in it's simplicity, but Hugh's guitar gets washed out a bit somehow.
- The Stranglers a name that put fear and loathing to the GLC.A band that,fired the nation into punk.4 guys a chemist,icecream salesman,a musian,and a student,The Stranglers.
This cd shows off the band to their best.11 tracks ranging from thier first album,to their last(at that time La Foile). The best of the tracks are Wog,No More Heroes,Sewer. This cd shows how the band sounded when Hugh and JJ were working togthere, not pulling each other a part,an excellent cd a must for those who love the band,a must for those who like The Stranglers,a must for those who want to hear how the band sounded in the good old days.
- THe stranglers have always been sort-of outsiders. From the very early days they were the first punk band to incorporate a keybord, and their lyrics always took on deeper, sleazier, darker, yet still good humoured topics. In all honesty, I believe that the stranglers are perhaps one of best alltime punk rock bands to ever have graced sound systems. This recording is a collection of some of their best and catchiest songs done live in a studio. All the songs are tight and clear, and every instrument sounds superb. Infact, if I didn't know any better I would have thought this to be a plain old studion album. You can tell the difference by the following: in this album the bass is thumpier and smoother-as opposed to their other studio works where the bass is growly and slightly distorted-and there is much more guitar, that is, the guitar is more audible, whereas regular stranglers records have a predominant keybord sound. ALso, the backing vocals are much more noticeable than on the regular recordings. These are nit-picky details, but in some cases add an improvement, but frankly if you want a nut-shell reasoning, the overall recording is just cleaner than regular stranglers' records. Other bands to whatch out for in this vain of punk rock would be the Jam, Radiobirdman, and the much newer fore-runners of the current punk rock scene, The International Noise Conspiracy. Forget blink-182, sum-41 and newfound glory. If you are looking for some real punk rock with cathcy melodies and humorously ingenious lyrics, then buy this album.

- Admittedly where I am this is cheap ( €9 - and even then I got in on discount ) and what I got was not pretty. The tape that Mark E. Smith has of this seems to nearly give up the ghost. There are some nice moments on this though. Enough to inquire investigation over some of their other material ( admittedly I'm new to the game ) but you have to bear with the terrible sound quality. However given that this is MES we're talking about, the front cover says all - if you don't like it, this is what I think of ya anyway
Still only one for possible diehards but the price Amazon here is a little off-putting nonetheless
- The sound quality on this is pretty terrible but this is a top notch collection of live tracks. Highlights are Hey Fascist, which turned up later on Middle Class Revolt, and Oh Brother and Cop It, which both turned up on Wonderful&Frightening. The version of Louie, Louie is preceeded by a fond farwell to the base player, setting the pattern for turnover for the next 25 years. This is The Fall at their spitting, biley best and there's real passion and energy about the performance. There's also some good banter from MES. It's the only Fall live album I keep coming back to. Play it really loud. Highly recommended-uh

- When you listen to the tunes on "Rarest Live" by David Bowie, consider that this is a 1972 recording. From "Five Years" to a very simplified "Space Oddity," you'll hear why Bowie still is in the CD players.
"Changes One" will have most (all?) of these tunes in studio versions, but in a somewhat less candid manner. Buy both. His poetics and dramatics come through here. "The Supermen" is haunting, and "Width of a Circle" is mesmerizing. Because it was recorded live, the sound quality sometimes lack, much like a poorly recorded bootleg. His voice sometimes fades, and the bass guitar doesn't always come tyhrough clean. However, collectors and those curious aboyt Bowie's artistic development will dig this. I fully recommend "Rarest Live" by David Bowie. Anthony Trendl
- For fans of Bowie and particularly the Ziggy era, this is a classic moment. The Santa Monica gig is often discussed and more often bootlegged. It was a piece of the Bowie legend for over twenty years prior to European commercial release in 1995. Now it's being released in Japan by Mecca Records and this is the result. The song lineup itself appears to be the beginnings of a dream set for fans of the early albums. There are suberb live versions of The Supermen, Life on Mars and Width of a Circle, all given the abrasive screaming treatment of the late Mick Ronson's guitar. My favourite is Moonage Daydream, which Bowie says is "a song that Ziggy wrote." Another outstanding track is this version of Space Oddity. Unfortunately, and the reason I gave this CD only 3 stars, six of the tracks included on the European release are ommitted here. To get those you'd have to buy another CD as well - RarestOneBowie + 6. For those accustomed to hearing Ziggy concerts rounded off with Rock n Roll Suicide, it feels like a bit of a swindle. But if you can't get hold of the admittedly difficult-to-find-now original release, this CD goes a long way towards plugging the gap.
