- This appears to be the same concert recording that was previously released as "Concerts Classics" in 1999. There are some very helpful reviews under that heading.
At this time, Kraftwerk Live is my absolute favorite Kraftwerk album - essential for any fans of the Autobahn album. As noted in other reviews, the recording quality is pretty darn good, with clean sound and just a few sound glitches (only 3-4 small mic feedbacks)to give this the authentic live feel. There really is a sense of adventure in this performance, where the musicians act calm and under control, while they are trying to ensure that their instruments perform as they are supposed to (there is an uncomfortable pause between Autobahn and KlingKlang as the electronic drums need to be fixed - or something). The last two tracks are KlingKlang and Tanzmusik (as introduced by the band), not Morgenspaziergang Parts 1&2, as listed on the CD. Unfortunately, as noted by others, the last track fades away after a mere four minutes, making the album about 48 minutes (LP length?).
The only other complaint I have is that there is absolutely no helpful information in the liner notes about this concert - only a brief history of the bands' personnel (including Organisation, the pre-Kraftwerk hippie jam band). It appears that this concert was recorded in 1975, per copyright, which makes sense that this would be a concert performed between the release of Autobahn and Radio-Activity.
This truly is a beautiful and revolutionary album. And it is perfect for calm, dreamy driving in all freeway traffic conditions!

- Ahh yes, I bought this album on cassette after seeing them live at the Yahweh Coffeehouse in Kansas City, MO. They put on a great show and were awesome guys! I love this album! Actually, I just bought the CD a couple of days ago for no more than three bucks. Can't beat that! If you like raw Grunge Rock with screaming, then you are sure to like these guys.
- The reviewers above must have been in this band. The only reason i'm even looking at the album page is that my friend and i were just talking about how bad it was. I bought this album when it came out ten years ago and my friends all laughed at me when we heard it, because i totally wasted fifteen good bucks. I tried to listen to it one more time and couldn't get through it. These guys never should have been signed. They bragged about only using single tracking, but it didn't help their complete lack of song writing talent. And the label "christian" has to be stretched way too far to cover this waste of plastic. I mean it. If you see one of these online, click your "back" button, and go somewhere else.
- sometime sunday is very nice good band, and it's pretty simple as that. if you apreachiate the guys vocals, he went on to a lighter sounding band, but still rock, called Tragadey Ann.
i really give these dudes five stars, but for you perfection sticklers out there i made it three, they have talent and skill mind you, but it is not exactly flawless and masterfully played. buy both there albums. at 5 bucks for both of them its a great deal, plus if you don't like them, you can always sell them here on amazon for a higher price. have a nice day..
- Oh man, this is the greatest CD in the history of Christian hard music. These guys defined the market with their first release, "Stone", in 1994, with Tooth & Nail Records. Their first album was good, but this sophomore release is unbelievable. If you have Real Media, listen to the songs on this page. They are great! Too bad they broke up, but hey, bands do. Buy this if you like guitar-driven grunge rock with deep, smooth bass.

- As a long term fan of all Byrd related material, I knew the link to this was very tenuous, but with 23 tracks it seemed a good sample of what the group had become.
This is more an introduction to John Beland than the Burritos, but since they've changed line-ups so often it's a valid addition to their history. Beland excels at sad songs, so it's not a record to listen to if you're depressed, but at any other time the feelings will draw you in and leave you wanting to hear more. My favourite tracks are "Another Shade of Grey", a great example of simplicity with 1 voice and 1 guitar on different speakers, "I swear I Don't Miss Her Anymore" & "Why Must The Ending Always Be So Sad"
- This is, without a doubt, the very finest of all the live Burrito releasesavailable. Taken from 1990's killerlineup of John Beland on guitar/vocals,Gib Guilbeau on vocals/fiddle, SneekyPete Kleinow on steel guitar, LarryPatton on bass and Rick Lenow on drums,"Encore" is a spirited and masterfulcollection of past and present classicsperformed by the greatest country-rock band in history by one of their verygreatest lineups. This is, to date, theonly live FBB offering to include thegreat John Beland, which should be reason enough to pick this up. His leadvocal on Dylan's 'You Ain't Going Nowhere' is a particular treat. But it's all great, so make sure you have thisdisc in your collection.

- The first time I heard this song it was on 'Charmed' and I instantly liked it. I've been looking for it ever since then but no one seems to have it for sale.
It truly is one of the absolute best tunes that I've ever heard.
- This beautiful album starts off with the so charming 'Just My Imagination', which is a delightful return to the way The Cranberries were not to long ago, a'la the hit album 'No Need To Argue'. The lyrics of this song, though repetitive, are not just your ordinary sing-a-long variety, but are the fruit of the real talent that is The Cranberries, while the brilliant melodies complement the carefree mood. As for the three live tracks that follow, The Cranberries' knack for crafting great songs shines on through, with the oft-played 'Dreams', the gorgeous folk-tinged 'Ode to my Family', and a new but nonetheless captivating song based on Dolores O'Riordan's (the lead singer) personal experiences, 'Animal Instinct'. For old fans, this is a wonderful treat that is well worth the three year wait; and if the band is new to you, then you're in for a listen that's chock-full of heartfelt lyrics, music that just carries you away, and work that's full of talent. Trust me, it won't be your imagination!
- One of best songs on the Cranberries 4th album Bury the Hatchet. This album has been in perminant rotation on my cd player. You may ask why buy the single if you have the album? I have two ways to answer that question. Bonus live tracks, to this point the cranberries have not yet released a live album. If you never heard them live, well your missing the band at it best. Secondly the artwork and packaging for the four singles released from BTH have been awsome. Designed by Storm Thorgerson (designer of pink floyd albums) this may be some of his best work. I know most of music fans are not collectors (ya right) if you are you need to buy this single. You will not be disappointed.

Thomas Richter

- "Dusk" falls right behind "Soul Mining" as The The's greatest achievement. While every lyric Matt Johnson writes is true to life and amazing, this brings out his most darkest and depressing life frustrations, and it really shines.
It's clear Johnson was going through some very hard times in his life when he wrote this music. Love, death, and his continuing struggle to find his place that we've known since his earlier work. Loss, lust, love, lonliness, and darkness are all many recurring themes in his work, and they ring great in this album with a very underground-rock sound, a hint of jazz, and a melancholy sound that really can't be described.
I will unashamedly admit this is one of the few albums that can bring me to tears by lyrics alone. "True Happiness This Way Lies" and "Bluer Than Midnight" are enough to kill someone. The lyrics "the only true freedom is freedom from the heart's desires" and "why can't love ever touch my heart like fear does?" catch me everytime no matter how often I hear them. Then you have "Love is Stronger Than Death" and "Slow Emotion Replay", which have great music and equally thought-provoking lyrics. "Dogs of Lust" and "Sodium Light Baby" being the only true upbeat songs on the album which counterbalance the rest perfectly. "This is the Night" and "Helpline Operator" tell fascinating stories which probably ring out of Johnson's life as well but are told very interestingly. We have "Lung Shadows"...oh, boy. Some of the darkest music truely ever made. An instrumental masterpiece. It all comes together with "Lonely Planet", a song that I don't care for as much for seeming a little cheesy-inspirational "We are the World" kinda thing, but nonetheless still have Matt Johnson's poetic charm that can't be ignored.
This is the album when you have seen the dark side of love, life, and everything in between. When you think you've hit rock bottom, listen to this piece of work and know that somewhere out there, many people including Matt Johnson, and myself, know exactly what the feelings are like.
- To hear The The twice is to love The The forever! You will put this on, friends will raise an eyebrow and you won't care! Dusk is great for a rainy night, feeling introspective or just quiet time by yourself. I also love it on long road trips. Matt Johnson is a talent too long overlooked or unknown by most. Maybe the M&M's commercial will bring him a whole new audience.
Personally, Love is Stronger Than Death is my favorite welcome to the Springtime song.
- "Dusk" is an album that could be considered "fully realized". It is a complete musical atmosphere that forms and binds together from track to track perfectly. Anyone who has spent a moment alone at night in a city will immediately relate to this album on an emotional level. From start to finish, "Dusk" is at once a sorrowful, teeth-gnashing unapologetic lament about lust, seduction, additions, guilt and abuse. Yet it is also an album about hope and promise and wishes. The conflict of vice and virtue, all played out under the dark, rainy canopy of the city streets and the stranger's whispers.
The combination of Matt Johnson's lyrics and craving vocals, and Johnny Marr's atmospheric guitar that drifts in and out of the songs like cigarette smoke, or dominates them like a racing heart beat, comes together beautifully to create an album that stands just as strong, fresh and emotionally powerful, as it did in 1992.
If you don't own this album, by all means make it your next choice.
- Another classic from Matt Johnson. "Dusk" sits well between the musical style of "Mindbomb" and the darker/heavier "NakedSelf". The line from the track Slow Emotion Replay gives a good indication of album's musings....
"Everybody Knows what's going wrong with the world,
I don't even know what's going on in myself"
The musicianship, as you come to expect from Mr Johnson and his cohorts is top notch from the funky "Sodium Light Baby" to the slow heavy "Lung Shadows". Around the time this album was released, Johnson despaired about the social condition of the UK - he upped sticks for Sweden and the USA. That disgruntlement is to the fore on this album. If you like thought provoking music laden with introspection then Dusk is well worth your time checking out.
- I was working at Tower Records when this album was released and all the staff used to sing along with Mr. Johnson whenever the album got played in the store. I still listen to this album frequently and I'm actually surprised to find that more people don't know about this gem.
I actually taught myself how to play the harmonica hook from "Slow Emotion Replay" on the harmonica! Goofy, I know but this is a damn great album and everyone has to track down a copy and listen to it or they'll be missing out.

- Real Kids seriously kickarse. This one is a live recording from Sept. 1983. Hear how they shread in the 80's and even in '99 with the Down To You EP. Loud, snotty, power pop/punk masters they are. If you like the old Stones mixed with the above then you'll love this. Great recording asewll for a live album. Thank god Norton Records knows their stuff, bless em for amazing releases. With albums like Better Be Good and a couple others your set. In fact Better Be Good has been on a cassette in my car for like 3+ months stuck. I just cant eject it and love to drive to it. The Real Kids and the real deal...its amazing they never became big stars outside of the east coast. I love em, you will too...
